Ashin, I don't know of anyone active enough besides those already listed. If I have to go "ooooh yeah, that guy/gal, wait who are they again?" they don't deserve it. Sven/Moridin makes a good point about the power vacuum. Why don't we see who is actually interested in the position IC and OOC before anything else?

I nominate @[member="Sirella Valkner"] I think she is a clear canidate who everyone knows and fears, and is a obvious choice when it comes down to it. As much as I would love to play Viera's hand, I think that Sierella would be the best choice for the job, She is powerful, respected, and her Writer does a ton for the sith, and deserves this.

Like I said, a power vacuum and an organic process - whoever fights or maneuvers their way to the top, wins - will be respected as a ballot option.

However, regardless of the decisions you all make, the resulting transition will be thoroughly RP'ed out. This WILL be an IC transition.

It still sits wrong with me. Empress/Emperor should be a purely IC position, plots and plans to who gets the throne should stay to IC, and it definitely shouldn't be an election...even if its OOC.

As i said before the Empire won't fall apart, we have Apparatus to lead us even without an Emperor or Empress.

EDIT: IT WONT BE IC IF YOU CHOOSE THE PERSON OOCLY IN AN ELECTION. WHOEVER WINS SHOULD WIN, NOT BE PUT ON THE BALLOT BECAUSE HE/SHE WON.

If I could rely on someone to pull off a successful coup on their own initiative within the next six weeks, that would be a thing. Everyone I know of who's interested in that, however, is long term. This is prompted by unexpected changes for me IRL. Otherwise, I'd keep growing that red blob on the map and helping folks with whatever.

I think it would be a good idea to role-play this out - see how characters act when they have certain other characters swear loyalty to them - before making a final decision OOC. Have some sort of power struggle and all. We could discuss how the role-play is going out of character and eventually reach a mutual agreement on who the Emperor shall be by having certain factions lose or loyalties switch. And who knows what may happen: perhaps all power will then fall to the Dark Council because of the chaos such power struggle caused? Or, something new may happen.

That's what we're now discussing on Skype, Rytek: in those circumstances, the active Masters would likely combine forces and prevent a civil war for the throne, and then assemble a proper Dark Council to rule.

Again Ashin, youre letting OOC effect IC. If you have to leave(which i know you do and im sorry if i sound insensitive) then do so. There does not HAVE to be an Emperor, there does not HAVE to be someone IC leading all the time. The idea that there does is ludicrous, lets be honest. You don't really do all that much, or at least what you do do others are perfectly capable and willing to do as well.

If Ashin were to suddenly disappear, or she dies, or whatever all that would happen is that either the Sith drop into a Civil War(A freaking amazing RP) or someone steps up to fill the void and people challenge that person to see if theyre strong enough to rule(again and awesome RP).

OR before any of that actually happens somebody else challenges you and you get taken down anyway.

I'm adding a suggestion:

With a power vacuum on the abdication of the Empress, Darth Voracitos and the Dark Council assume control to prevent Civil War. Observing the need for strong leadership and to prevent a major clash which will cost lives and resources, a full Council is appointed: I'd envision it as Voracitos, Sirella, Tirdarius, Depravious, Viera as Supreme Moff of the Remnant Worlds, Rytek as Fleet Commander, Kaine as Grand Vizier, then appointments for Spencer and Anaya as Knight representatives/Masters (if either/both is appointed). After which, we assign responsibilities and roles as required, and establish a proper body of law.

Each member would have voting privileges on any issue facing the Empire as a whole, and would divide territorial/administrative responsibilities, and also have specific control over particular areas of policy - Sirella's in charge of the Perlemian Campaign, I've got control of the Braxant Campaign, I imagine Depravious would want another front opened up. Viera and Rytek can combine to form another, or be our military arm - we say "Go", and they tell us how. Kaine's our Vizier and deals with internal policy. Spencer would head up our covert ops, or perhaps work to lead the Sith enforcement arm. Not sure what role would work for Anaya, but Nadia can decide that.

The pluses here: firstly, Voracitos can maintain a starring role without actually being required to do all the legwork of Emperor. Secondly, we can stop an IC Civil War that will deplete the Sith hierarchy and leave it vulnerable to the Republic. Thirdly, it would work - we have a Dark Council now, but it's not really being used, and it's tiresome having just three of us on there. Put it into action as a proper force, and it'd work - after all, we're capable of deciding Faction directly OOCly and ICly as a group (we do anyway, just with Jon being the one facilitating the discussions and then implementing them).

Seems to me better than a all-or-nothing roll of the dice on a single person. Also saves us having to do this again if something comes up, the way it has done for Jon.
