Boldly they Rode and Well (OS Dominion of Corellia)

The Admiralty
Corellia.

It had been a bastion of the Omega Protectorate, self-styled Shield. But then chaos erupted all across the Galaxy, cities winking out of existence, billions vanishing without a trace or sight. What had happened? No one really knew, some people were trying to get to the bottom of it.

But most people were content to let their inner beast loose. Perhaps there was irony involved that the Sith, those that loved passion best, were the ones who seemed to come out the best out of this cataclysm. Whilst most nations were squabbling; trying to contain their rowdy populations, the Sith had swept out of their core worlds with one thought in mind.

Conquer those who dared to stand in their path.

So they had come to the world of Corellia, Kuat and Rendili had fallen behind them already, but this?

This was just the beginning.

Objectives
  • Take control over the shipyards
  • Occupy Coronet City
  • Annihilate/subdue Protectorate fortresses

Feel free to come up with your own fun spin on the objectives!

On the orbital shipyards, the fighting was close quarters and rather fierce. As it turns out, blatantly mocking the Protectorate by invoking the poem they had employed during two battles (both of which resulted in their humiliating defeat) had actually stiffened resistance. Just as well, it was meaningless how fiercely the Corellians resisted. In the end, their planet would belong to the One Sith and their shipyards reconfigured to construct ships for the faction they hated so. These trying galactic times would finally see the end of the Omega Protectorate, seeing as they apparently lacked the motivation to reclaim their land.

Fortunately, Adekos had no intention of getting on the shipyards himself. He was just going to assume command of the boarding operations as they pertained to the shipyards from his Wyyrlok-class Star Destroyer. The Omega Protectorate, pathetic as they were now, were still fairly adept at killing Force Users. No, he'd remain right here, thank you very much.

Location: Space
Objective: Take the shipyards

Taeli was slightly conflicted about coming to Corellia, her biological family's home. She didn't want to see it damaged anymore than she wanted Lorrd damaged. But, duty was duty, and they needed to take this planet and its vital shipyards and industry. Standing on the bridge of one of Krayt Industries's Avarice Cruisers, she had assembled a force to take the shipyards in orbit over the planet. Around her ship, several other cruisers and frigates were arranged that held enough marines to take all of the shipyards, even though they were still trying to reorganize their forces from the disappearances.

"Launch fighter craft to cover the boarding operations, I want those shipyards taken and in one piece. Don't kill any who surrender, deal with security forces however you wish, but I don't want any civilian deaths again," she ordered her forces.

Objective: Annihilate/subdue Protectorate fortresses.

Corellia was a planet supremely well-defended by anyone’s standards, but with half its’ population suddenly spirited off to who-knew-where it was that much easier. And the One Sith were getting good at this. Ruthless, unstoppable in the face of uncertainty they threw aside personal worries, all wondering of where those they knew had gone, in the name of conquest. Kuat fell before them and now their eyes were on a crown jewel of a prize. Granted, these were men and women trained in the art of taking out force-users and with intermittent and sometimes complete loss of her connection its power Matsu was facing untested territory. But she had Vrag at her side – a woman that finally had a name. It only took three battles, but who was counting?

She was up as soon as the lift of the repulsors shifted the dropship, one of several that came to land on Corellia’s surface not far from one of the main groupings of Protectorate fortresses, behind cover to avoid the defensive systems half-manned. This time they were here to destroy, something Matsu was developing a craving for despite her usual aptitude for silence and patience.

Stepping out on to the planet alongside troopers armed with assault weaponry, she moved alongside Vrag. There was no immediate resistance posted outside the fortresses – they would hold what belonged to them from inside until Vrag & Matsu ripped it from their dead hands.

Objective: Annihilate/subdue Protectorate fortresses
Location: Corellian Atmosphere -> Outskirts of a Protectorate Fortress

The shuttle Valtryx was arriving on entered the atmosphere calmly, descending towards the location she had marked. The place in question was close to one of the Protectorate's fortresses, where luckily they would not fire upon her immediately, as they were too concerned with managing the inside rather than the outside. Her shuttle touched down carefully, it's rear ramp opening to let out the armed troops she had brought with her. To her left there was a dropship, from which came two other Sith she partially recognized. With a greeting nod to them, the Yodaling moved near them, allowing the troops around them to assume positions, herself waiting to follow Matsu's lead. Valtryx knew quite a few Sith Lords, but Matsu was one she knew she would want to fight alongside. "I hope you don't mind if I join you, hmm?" She asked, unholstering her lightsaber but keeping it deactivated for now.

She was ready to annihilate what remained of the Protectorate.

Status: LOCKED DOWN

A literal fortress upon the gem-world of Corellia - fortunately, there wasn't much left in terms of projects or actual data. During the Stealth-X project, alot of data was spread out across the Corporation networks and not kept in a singular location. It could be accessed - just not by slicing. An attempt at slicing would inevitably cause the death of the slicer and the entire system would purge itself within a matter of moments. No, you needed the key to the whole system - the C.E.O. Unfortunately, she wasn't there, although it had appeared at one point she was and just had disappeared. The alarm klaxons began to sound within the nearly empty building on Corellia - most of the employees potentially gone due to the chaos that ensnared the Galaxy as a whole, perhaps there was a way to leave a message - but there was doubt that the One Sith would be leaving a message. Maybe they would - Alyesa's personal droid was present and would legitimately be able to take a message...for whenever she might return.

Outer Layer Security:
Laser-Wire Fence with electrified metal structure, Impervium coated metal bars. Gate One - same as outer perimeter fence.

10 meters of sand and dirt between first and second gate, with enough land mines to take out an army - spread out enough to prevent multiple detonations of each other.

2nd Layer Security:
Laser-Wire Fence with electrified metal structure, Impervium coated metal bars. Gate Two - same as outer perimeter fence.

Manticore Heavy Support Tank with five infantryman carrying BTI-CC13 Rifles, in MK/II S Armor.

3rd Layer Security:

Roving Patrols - three Urban Recon Walkers, six infantry (three MK/II S and three MK/II H) with BTI-CC13 Rifles.

4th Layer Security (Before Entrance)

Omega SAM Turret (Each Corner of the building) Additional Infantry with MK/II H loaded down with an OPML-1 or BTI-HPC.

Interior Security:

Automated Turret Systems, Ray-Shielded Turbolifts with ID Card Swipe, Biometric Authentication and Locks, Motion Sensors and a single button alert system that could lock down the lower levels and data dump the entire site. Additional guards with MK/II S Armor and BTI-CC13 Rifles.

Exterior Building Security:

Versatile Windows, self-tinting. (Blastproof, ect.) Shield system and coating to actual structure to prevent an extreme amount of damage from exterior forces.

Drunk on the victories at Kuat and Rendili, the Sith wasted no time launching their next attack, their greedy hands itching to close around none other than Corellia; the apple of the Protectorate's eye; their most beloved and most treasured. Their eternal enemy would never recover from this killing blow, and the defenders had only hours left to count until the black masses came knocking on their doors. The planet would fall before the unstoppable force of the One Sith, just like all the others before.

To make extra sure it would happen as quickly as possible, a pair of adept butchers was dispatched to the surface; they were well-acquainted by now, having taken lives in tandem in no less than five murderous expeditions by now. Vrag still preferred her chosen moniker — Iron Maiden had such a nice ring to it, didn't it? — but Matsu Xiangu raised less eyebrows and questions when used in crowds.

She wasn't one to trust people, so the term would be inappropriate, but it certainly felt… comfortable, having the Sith Lord at her side as they gazed upon the stronghold, ripe for the picking. Whatever the Galaxy thought of them, their order wasn't one to rest idly on its laurels; no, they would reassert themselves as the best until there was nobody left to crush beneath their durasteel boots. With a grin, the taller woman gestured for the assault squadrons to move to their positions under her watchful eyes, her comlink buzzing with incoming transmissions.

It was the calm before the storm.

"New orders, sir. There appears to be an Incom Research Facility that must be secured."
"Fantastic. Absolutely wonderful. Inform whoever dispatched those orders that I love them."
"Yessir."
"No, don't actually do that, you halfwit."

Darth Adekos made sure his lightsaber was clipped to his belt before exiting the bridge and heading towards the hangar. [member="Darth Akron"] would receive his new, equivalent orders as well and likely meet the Umbaran Dark Jedi in the hangar bay. Underneath his usual light clothing came the Phrik armor from a couple Rendili commandos he had slain during the dominion of that planet. Quality stuff. That was why he had scavenged it from their corpses. Hopefully it would keep him adequately protected for the duration of his mission to this Force-forsaken facility.

Naturally, whatever sacking took place would involve an ungodly amount of infantry, armor, aircraft and other support personnel. Adekos intended to do this by the book, his book, and that generally involved systematic and byzantine plans.

Objective: Smaaaaaash

The Sith were expanding at a rapid pace throughout the Core systems, the mighty arm of the Dark Lord reaching wide as he coveted many systems. Systems were brought to heel at record time, the confusion of the rapture making them inept to defend against the Sith's unbridled onslaught, and that suited Darth Vornskr just fine. As much fun as it was to fight a battle that lasted for weeks and left thousands dead on both sides, he much preferred to have his enemies be cut down like wheat before the sickle, and so he too had come to Corellia to bring the rowdy planet to heel. The sudden erratic nature of the Force that had come about right as billions disappeared overnight did concern the Sith Lord, but even before he learned how to manipulate the Force he was vastly adept in other skills, those of the Intelligence Agent. Thus the Sith Lord did not come down in bulking armor, but rather in the skin-tight suit of an agent overlaid by standard durasteel armor plating, his lightsaber clipped to his belt next to a holstered BTI-WB Blaster Pistol, and a BTI-CC13 strung over his back.

The Sith Lord was strapped into one of the many Falcon-class dropships that were ferrying Imperial forces down onto the surface of the planet, and the ship was constantly rocked back and forth by anti-air fire that lit up the sky like some sort of celebration. Many would be shot down before reaching their destination, but due to luck or the will of the Force, the ship carrying Vornskr made it roughly unscathed and deposited it's cargo of seventy-two Blackblade marines and the Sith Lord himself. Many others would be touching down at the perimeter of the Protectorate stronghold, unloading more troops onto the field as they began their assault, the sound of shouts and explosions rippling out like a malefic cacophony. Vornskr would feel out of place now that he had to rely less on the Force, and more on his skills he learned prior to becoming a Sith, but either way he would endure.

He was strong, he was Sith, and all would fall before his wrath.

Objective: Those delicious shipyards that are ripe for the taking

Taeli had decided to accompany her forces onto the first shipyard, the enemy defense coming online to try and repel them, but they were not running nearly at full strength. Apparently, the crews on board had been hard hit by the disappearances and now would be the time to take them before the OP tried to rally.

Fighters and boarding craft started to explode around them, but Taeli's forces wouldn't be denied as they lined up with an insertion onto several of the airlocks. Slicing the airlock door with her lightsaber, a breath mask over her face to avoid air loss, she cut through and then poured in with her troops, her lightsaber flashing and deflecting some CorSec fire back into their lines as Sith troopers began returning fire. The same could be said on different areas of the shipyards across three different sections of it, and even more boarding craft kept coming.

They would not be denied the prize, even if she was uncomfortable killing Corellians now.

And there he came in his own stolen armor, helmet left somewhere else, because really… it looked fething stupid with the helmet on. Akron had known Tyrin Ardik in the past, when he had been known under the name Garoth. Funny enough Garoth had even fought for the then Emperor.

Not that Akron knew the masked man was the same dethroned Emperor, just as Tyrin wouldn’t actually know that Garoth and Akron were the same person. Ah, irony tasted funny sometimes.

I hear we are appropriating a facility.’ the Sith asked when [member="Darth Adekos"] came into view.

The Sith war machined continued to roll on, conquering one world after the next; first Kuat then Rendili. Now the eyes of the mighty Sith juggernaut turned it's focus to Corellia. A lone transport shuttle cruised through the atmosphere, disrupting radar sensors along the way while dispersing garble through the open channels to confuse the ground authorities and any troops in the vicinity. The plan was simple, get in and crush the opposition as quickly as possible.

"Pay attention," the hooded and cloaked Sith began, "The enemy will be expecting us despite all the precautions we are taking. We do our job properly and the Dark Lord adds another a planet to the collection. When we reach the surface we want tight formations and do not...I repeat do not pursue any retreating soldiers. Are we clear?" The five squad leaders she was addressing nodded their helmeted heads in understanding. "Once we establish a foothold, we will begin security sweeps of the fortress rounding up intel and any prisoners we can. The Dark Lord also wishes to add to the labour force."

The co-pilot announces over the transport's speakers they will be landing in less than two minutes. Darth Venefica tosses back her hood and withdraws her weapon. "Get ready!" The shuttle slowed down and with a heavy thud, it touches down while the pilot hits the button to open the doors. Jumping from the transport and igniting her weapon, the Sith Knight leads her courageous soldiers into battle once again.

And so here we are, the occupation of Corellia...Velda's home world, if home is where the heart is, most certainly Velda's black heart was resided here. It was time for Corellia to embrace The One Sith...it felt just like the right thing to do.

Of course spending her childhood in Coronet City most of the time, offered some tactical advantages to the young Corellian Duchess and recently anointed Sith, as she entered Coronet City after landing, her forces on the outskirts.

The first in this occupation that made the most sense to the Corellian native...seize control of the embassy, and any outgoing communications for the city. And a slicer team was also in her group.

And with that they began to move, securing the city, building, by building en-route to the embassy.

Being Corellian, she knew this occupation was going to be anything but easy.

Objective: Annihilate/subdue Protectorate fortresses (Perhaps die in the most glorious battle in recent Vong history, yay!)

The Yuuzhan Vong had taken a long time to gather their forces, far long than the One Sith. Embarrassing, to be outdone by such soft creatures, but then half of the war-coordinators had vanished as well, sending the fleet into disarray. Even now the Intendant class was in full panic, the priest busy trying to make some sense of events. Several competing theological explanations had been put forwards, the current lead was that the Galaxy and all life would slowly be sacrificed so that life could start anew. The Praetorite Vong were busy exploring and trying to reconnect with other colonies. Not the Warrior caste.

The Warrior Caste had watched the Sith forces gather and move. A slick war machine that was ready to capitalise on the confusion and conquer the territory the One Sith deserved. The Warrior Caste had watched this and gone through a series of stages. First had come terror at events, then jealousy at the Sith taking the glory, acceptance had followed and finally a steely resolve had emerged. They had set about the task with a single-mindedness that few other species could match. Coral Skippers had been transferred between ships, troops re-organised and re-armed. A full fighting force had been gathered and whipped into a fervour. And now they were pleased.

This was no soft target, as the Sith had been taking. No, these people had resolve, weapons and organisation. The glory was here for the taking. At the end of the day they could walk past their Sith allies with their heads held high. They would crack the toughest nut, they would be part of the bloodiest battles. If the end of times was here, the Twin Gods would look upon their work on this day and smile. They would return Yun’Yuuzhan with their purpose fulfilled, or if the portentous events of the day indicated another fate, the favour of the Gods could not hurt.

The arrayed ships of the Yuuzhan Vong started to follow their Sith brethren into battle. Khallesh made her way to her Yorrik-Trema revelling in the raw emotions. The warriors were quite outgoing for once. There were battle cries all around, warriors slamming into each other to get worked up, everywhere was noise and emotion.

Location: CEC shipyard
Objective: Capture the yard, fight against her fellow Corellians

The first CorSec line had fallen rapidly, but as soon as she turned the corner, that was when she encountered the problem. The Protectorate hadn't abandoned the world to its fate as much as the Sith had thought, as several rows of Protectorate and CorSec troopers were waiting for them. Blaster fire started flying thick and fast, Taeli using her spinning mode on her lightsaber to deflect and absorb the bolts heading her way. More of ther troopers were dropping from the enemy fire, but so were the Protectorate.

She hated killing Corellians, now that she knew she was born here, but she had a duty to the Sith and would carry out that duty. Advancing slowly with her forces, she could hear over her comlink chatter about her forces meeting the same level of resistance, and now the Corellian Defense Force was deploying fully, so reinforcements would be haphazard until they could subdue the enemy space forces.

"Lovely," she mumbled, her lightsaber twirling through an enemy soldier and ducking underneath a vibroblade aimed at her neck.

Objective: Annihilate/Subdue Protectorate Fortresses

Regardless of her confidence in the Sith war machine, she’d come to the planet with every expectation that whomever remained on Corellia’s surface would put up a hell of a fight to defend what they considered theirs. As the last of the dropships closed up and took off, leaving behind four AT-AW’s primed and piloted by the best, it was time to begin their assault.

She turned when she heard the voice of someone she did not know, looking down (a strange feeling considering most of the time she was looking up to see others) to view the Sith Knight, giving her a nod. “I don’t mind at all.” The more the merrier.

Watching as the Vong troops alighted on the planet she opened her lightsaber with a snap-hiss, ordering the troops under her command forward to meet the Protectorate’s resistance. The AT-AW’s would hold their fire against the fortresses for the moment as they moved steadily within the advancing Sith ranks, waiting for a more secure shot and instead opting to take out anything that moved and wasn’t with them, the flare of their deflector shields shining in bursts whenever someone saw fit to attack them. She kept herself within range of the closest, intending on using its destructive power to her advantage once within range. Though, she never strayed too far from Vrag – their teamwork had proven impeccable in all other engagements and this conflict would require unrelenting strength.

Her heart beat in the rhythm of the marching armies, the ground shaking and groaning as their siege weaponry fired shot after shot at the stronghold. Her face, hidden behind the black visor, was stretched into a tight grin as she pressed forward along with the rest of their forces, liberally squeezing the trigger of the rifle pressed against her armored shoulder.

Previous experience had taught her that the usefulness of guns couldn't be dismissed, and the sentiment held doubly true now that she had no Force to fall back on. Along with the grenades clipped to her utility belt and the hilt hanging from it on the other side, the Knight felt that she had come well-prepared. Corellia would be different than Kuat and Rendili, that much was obvious; their losses would be greater, their enemy more coordinated and vicious.

The stakes were how on both sides, however, and the Sith weren't known to back down. They would employ everything at their disposal, resort to underhanded maneuvers and pursue every venue of attack. Cowardice was but a construct of unresourceful fighters who demonized their betters in fear of failure; Vrag and her partners in crime weren't held back by such foolish, absurd concepts, however, and that is why the world would ultimately fall.

Preach of honor to the dead, the firrerreo thought as the gun in her arms barked, the sting in her shoulder a reminder of just how good it felt to be alive. Pain would come to her in this effort, but she would find solace in its embrace, as she always did; it would wash over the woman, making her stronger as the resolve of their opposition crumbled before her obdurate, icy gaze.

The clicking and screeching of the Vong was almost like music to her ears by now, and when the warriors flooded the battlefield, her lips curled into a smile. Specks of mottled green and brown amid a sea of black, filling her field of view like a single writhing, amorphous mass. Her smile grew wider as she glanced to the two Sith beside her, and Vrag took aim once more. Soon enough, the combat would change in nature, as it inevitably did, and then it would truly be their time to shine.

The enemy's defenses looked solid and nearly impregnable, but with the arrival of the AT-AW the enemy would be unable to halt the advance of the Sith. "Snipers...fan out and take cover. Choose your targets wisely and do not advance from your positions until the first 100 feet is cleared. Then move up 75 feet and repeat until you reach the fortress." She continued to swat shots away while her soldiers opened fire on the enemy. The battle for Corellia was now in full swing.

With the Force in such disarray, she had to rely on her own eye-hand coordination and agility to prevent being struck down by a lucky shot. It was hard but it was amusing. She had heard people comment that a Jedi or a Sith without the Force was nothing, well they were wrong. Without the Force to call on, she was more deadlier and more aware of her actions than ever cause now her own survival was in more jeopardy than ever before. Granted, she would not take the risks she had been known to be associated with but she was still Darth Venefica. And the voices seemed to be pacified for the moment which was a plus.

"Company commanders...the moment those walking machines unleash their firepower," she said yelling over the sounds of battle, "Move your companies forward quickly! Leave the wounded unattended for now! Our main focus is that fortress!"

It had been some time since Valtryx had seen battle this close. She had not been present on Kuat or Rendili, she was too busy trying to figure out what had happened to the galaxy and find her allies. To make matters worse, her last battle was Prakith, where she was defeated by Alexandra. It was a battle she was definitely not proud of. This time was different though. This time she felt like she would be victorious, despite her lack of the force. With nothing but her blade and her skill, she would slaughter the enemies of the Sith and capture Corellia.

Her mind swirled with the fantasies of victory, making her oblivious to the fighting around her. She did not care what the Vong were doing. She only cared for when it was her turn to fight.
And that was soon... She could feel it coming...
Victory.
