Borrowing Phrik

A young Mon Calamari leaned back in his seat and his large eye swiveled to the right to eye his companion, [member="Sabrina Kotass"]. Avreet thought she had enough potential to become a successful Sith and she was not a psychopath like so many others, thus he enjoyed working with her. After teaching the Acolyte something about lightsaber combat and correcting a few mistakes she had made, it did not take long for her to approach him again. The Sith Knight listened to her offer before accepting to help the young woman “liberate” some phrik from Bastion. Not only the amphibious Sith wanted to have a weapon capable of resisting the blade of a lightsaber, he also took it as a test to see how the Acolyte progressed. He might even teach her a thing or two, possibly even allow the young Acolyte to lead this mission to observe and analyze her plans.

Avreet naturally had some way of getting what they wanted already prepared in his head, but for now he’d follow the Acolyte’s lead. He had no disguise, as the Force itself would hide him if needed. The Force sensitivity would also be manipulated to the point it became almost impossible for other trained Force sensitives to feel him unless they already searched for his signature. There was no point in hiding his presence completely, the galaxy was filled with many independent Force sensitive people and bending his signature to appear neutral would be more than enough to appear just as another being. Sabrina had no such luck though; the inexperienced Acolyte was not powerful enough to manipulate her presence in such manner, meaning the two would have to work something out. Avreet had already thought of several lies for an explanation, but again, would let the Acolyte to deal with it herself first.

“You will speak to me through telepathy,” Avreet ordered as he sent his message into her mind, “We do not want to be heard as we discuss our plans in front of others.” Before he could continue, the ship’s alarm broke his focus as it announced they were about to exit hyperspace. The planet that appeared in front of them slowly started getting bigger as the ship approached. “Is there something you want to discuss before we land?” Avreet asked, his webbed hands taking control over the ship as he gently piloted it towards Bastion. Your Deathbed, as Avreet named his ship, shouldn't raise any alarms due to being a civilian craft. Quite a step down from Avreet's stealth ship, Your Grave, but the assassin could not afford another one and this spacecraft would serve him just as well.

The Sith Knight would personally prefer to take what they came for and get out, without causing trouble and having to shoot their way out. Avreet may be an assassin, but he is not a violent type unless it concerns the Jedi scum or traitors.

Sabrina listened intently, to [member="Darth Veles"] and as he asked, has she any question, she nodded. What`s the plan, on here, as we will run into other force users. Also your route requires, speed and quite jump`s. Sarbrina was nervous, as last time he trained her, she end up in bacta tank for couple day`s healing.
She new he had skill, but his training was harsh, and full of test`s. This worried her, but same time if she ever hope to advance, she need to do thing`s like this.

The final days of the unlamented Fel Imperium reminded Ember Rekali of an adage he'd learned at the feet of his Nightsister owner, as a young man. "All empires are in the process of decline, maleling, from the moment of their inception." This was a target-rich environment, you see, and there was none to gainsay him.

Emperor Ronin Fel had faded from the public eye, and rumors swirled around the bounty hunters' guild, rumors to the effect that Fel was not long for this world. Apparently at least one influential Master had looked askance upon the price he'd named for anyone labelled 'Sith', and lodged a counter-bounty of matriarchal magnitude. Having known said Master in happier times, Ember could have seen that one coming a parsec away. But he wasn't here to hunt the Emperor; others were handling that. He and his associates were here to thumb their noses at the Imperial Knights.

By hunting the Imperial Knights.

On spec, naturally. Ember knew of no bounty that applied, but he could think of more than a few enterprising souls who would pay for a fully functional (or at least gently used) Imperial Knight. Plus their armor was apparently interesting.

In an unprepossessing Niathal-class shuttle, the Keetael-trained Force tracker flew lazy and unobtrusive patterns around the planet, trying to get a ping. On this world, getting sensed by an Imperial Knight was as good as sensing one. He'd aim for the latter but settle for the former. It had been a while since he'd crushed some righteous indignation.

Pilot: "Roger, coming in to an altitude of one thousand feet."
Co-pilot: "Stealth systems online. They won't even know we're here."

The Sekairo-class Stealth Transport flew beside the Niathal on a Joint-Operation between Mandos and Fringe. I could hear the pilots chatter over my comm, but wasn't paying too much attention. With the stealth systems engaged we were invisible to sensors as well as the naked eye. Not sure how well that fared against the Force, though.

I sat in the troop bay with five other guys. Blue Team. We were all Fringe SpecForce under FOSC. I was Blue 3, otherwise known as Akk-Akk, cause of my middle initials, see. They spelled A.A. Guys thought that was funny, so they just started callin' me Akk-Akk after the dog and the sound of Anti-Air fire. Guess it kinda stuck.

The other guys had on Katarn-class armor, while I wore ICA-AEL TCA. The stuff was made from phrik and the hide of a terentatek. Made me feel pretty safe inside it. As far as equipment went I had my concussion pistol, the hunting knife I'd won at auction, a paddle beamer, and the CZ-837. I had a bunch of drum mags in the backpack I wore, each held 90 5.56mm rounds. I picked up a drum that was labeled FLARE in big red letters on the side and jammed it into the LMG. I drew back the slide and cocked in a round.

"That noise makes me hard." That was Blue 4, he carried the CZ-836 Assault Rifle. Jokester and demolition specialist.

"Can it." Blue 2. Sergeant, second in command of Blue Team. We called him Fun-Slayer.

Blue 1: "Mandos are looking for any Imperial Knights on the ground. As soon as they find one we'll infil at that location. You boys ready?"

I grunted. The other guys all gave yeahs or hell yeahs. Now was the boring part. Waiting.

Aboard the Specforce/Testosteronemobile/Alphamaleship, a Jawa waited, looking quite conspicuous.

The reasons for this were twofold:

1) He was a Jawa.
2) He was holding a flamethrower that was almost as long as he was tall.

Luckily, the fuel tanks were keeping him upright, and he also possessed superhuman strength thanks to the ancient teachings of the monks of Lazywriter V.
After checking the fuel tanks were properly sealed to avoid accidental incineration, he gripped the weapon tight, crouched down and waited.

The ship slowed down, giving the two more time to discuss the ideas. The Mon Cal’s gaze shifted from the planet back to his fellow Sith, or soon to be Sith to be precise. She may have been introduced to the Order, but the woman still not a true Sith yet. Not until she became a Knight and gained her Mark of Darkness. Her mention of having to use their speed and do some jumping did not sit very well with Avreet, who preferred slow and unsuspicious approach without being noticed. If they drew too much attention, the whole operation would be at risk. “You should not be worried about other Force sensitives, Acolyte. If we truly encounter them, they won’t know we are Sith. I can alter my signature to the point it feels like the one of a Jedi Knight and your signature doesn’t give away your true alignment. It is important you stay focused. We’ll give them no reason to suspect us and everything will go smoothly. With the Force as our tool, there is nothing that could possibly stop us.” The left eye darted back and allowed Avreet to see out of the cockpit while the right eye did not move, staring at [member="Sabrina Kotass"]. “I do have something prepared, but I’d like to hear your plan. Tell me, how do you plan to find phrik on the planet, to mine it, to get it off the planet? Given its rarity, it will be guarded. What do you want to do with the guards?” Those questions had to be answered before they landed, forming a solid plan before attempting to take a few kilograms of phrik for themselves.

Somewhere out there was his wingmate, a Sekairo-class stealth transport. He'd marked it with a drop of his blood at the rendezvous, so that he'd know where it was and not run into the stygium-cloaked chunk of durasteel. He needed that peripheral awareness. His Force senses were a bit like looking through a telescope: He could detect and track specific things from far away, but only if he kept looking around, and he'd been known to miss things nearby. Tunnel vision. Focused as he was on finding the Light Side Force presence of an Imperial Knight, it would have been easy to sideslip into the Sekairo. Hence the blood trail.

Of course, feeling that specimen of his blood over there meant little for communications purposes. Thus far, he flew his loose search pattern between common civilian transit points, and the Sekairo shadowed him well enough.

It would, he recognized, take a while to get a ping. The Imperial Knights had never been numerous, not under the Fel administration or the long-ago Kisep administration either. So far as he was aware, they'd never even been able to boast a Master among their ranks.

He continued to hunt.

[Posting here just to give you all an IC background of Bastion and what has possibly happened since all the roleplaying members have left the faction. This may change nothing regarding your roleplay, but I thought it may help depending on your ultimate goals within Fel Space.]

The planet, once the pinnacle of hope and peace throughout the Imperium shone still, but only to its own people. The glorious crusade that had been enacted by the reclusive Ronin Fel, Imperator, had ceased following the destruction and dissolution of the Empire of the Sith. Their mission ended and their worlds returned to normalcy. If only that were the case.

The disappearance of the Imperator, only known to the Moff Council of top-ranking military officers, Imperial Knights and governors of liberated planets, had left little stain on the flags that flew from almost every high-rise, building and view. Propaganda had reached a maximum since the followers of the cult of Sith had been executed upon capture and their bodies disposed across the small sector of space.
Few civilians knew of the true reason for the destruction of the Sith Empire and the returning to darkness of the Order that ruled it; what they had been informed, through various means from edited footage to staged battles, were the Glorious Allies in the galaxy had overcome their Sith oppressors and smote them, until even the Dark Lord had been vanquished.

The Moff Council had issued a number of small groups of Imperial Knights, aided by near-battalions of Stormtroopers, to begin research (aided by the Imperial Security Bureau) into the possibility of Sith infiltration, due mainly to the fear that – because of the Universal Abomination Act, which decreed all Sith and followers of their cult to be less-than sentient and sentenced to death – their leaders would be the first to be targeted to usher in a new age of Sith supremacy.
Imperial Death Squads, such teams were called by few who resisted the declining Imperium. Many were targeted and many more were executed in public. Each kill bore the seal of the Golden Phoenix of the Imperator and public service announcements were made each day entailing the number of Sith infiltrators who had been executed.

Apparently, in many outlying worlds, there is growing resistance to the governing body and its actions in recent times, although little is seen nor heard of this on Bastion to avoid the general public becoming concerned and panicking.

Sabrina thought about [member="Darth Veles"] question, and then answered I have no reason to wish, malice upon them, so avoid if I can. If not then I guess incapacitate them, they are not our enemy, so their no reason to want to kill them. Though if we are left with no choice, then we will have to. She sat down and looked over, the route he laid out, she new it was full test`s, and she would have to prove herself on it.

Listening to the woman, Avreet frowned, as she had ignored most of his questions. He took it that she did not have a plan, not pressing the matter further. “Yes,” the Mon Cal nodded, “If possible, we will avoid any trouble, but confrontation with the guards may be unavoidable. Such a rare material will be heavily guarded, no doubt. That brings us to our plan…,” Turning off the engines and getting from the pilot’s seat, the Sith Knight motioned for Sabrina with his webbed hand as an indication to follow him. The two left the cockpit, Avreet paced through his ship with his hands clasped behind his back and his steps couldn’t be even heard due to the Sith bending the sound just to practice the art of it. With the Acolyte hopefully following him close behind, the Knight stopped in a room with a Holonet transceiver in the middle. A gentle press of a button with his webbed claw and the transceiver showed an image of the planet in front of the ship.

“Unfortunate as it is, neither of us has ever tasted the honest work of mining. As you surely know, Acolyte, phrik has to be refined and purified after being harvested. As such, I have decided to save us our precious time and take the final product from the mine.” Several more taps on the control panel and the image of the planet zoomed in, showing the exact location of the mine. “I want you to pose as a new miner, while I will become a security guard. We’ll enter the mine together, and then you will go and search for what we came for while I find a security station and monitor the situation from there. If possible, I will guide you through the mines. Do you understand, [member="Sabrina Kotass"]?” Avreet asked, wanting solve any potential problems in the ship before they actually landed. Of course, Avreet could have easily done the entire thing himself; with his abilities, it wouldn’t be hard at all to take the phrik and get off the planet without being detected. This would serve as a test for the young Acolyte; if she wanted to become a true Sith, she had to display a certain level of skill. Naturally, if things went sour, the Mon Cal would be there to set it right.

Sabrina listened to [member="Darth Veles"], and she looked little confused by it, especially the bit where she posed, as a miner, she was not sure what one looked like, but she hoping she looked nothing like one. She decide she have at least, question that bit of the plan, Erm master, how would I get away with. posing as a miner. I thought they had to do lot physical labour, I don`t think I got that type of look to pull it off. May I humble suggest, I pose as an auditor, or an inspector of some sort. She waited for his response, she new she was being trained to think for her self, as well as how to use the force. Though they be docking soon, and then they have start, making their plan work.

The Mon Calamari Sith looked at the woman's figure. Truly, she did not appear as manual labourer, but appearances could be deceiving. Many young women had to mine, often involuntarily, to provide food for their families. The Sith Acolyte could be one of them. "Your look does not matter as long as you have the strength to do it, Acolyte. Which you should have, the Sith training is supposed to turn your muscles into steel and shape your body to beauty," the Knight softly chuckled, although he did not mean it as a joke, so his gentle laugh quickly stopped, "Posing as an official figure might make it easier for us, but I imagine the guards already know the faces who come to inspect the mine. Your is not one of them. Accidents are common in this line of work, just as necessary replacements. You will be one of the new miners. I will escort you to the mine and make my way to the security hub from where I should be able to guide you." Darth Veles crossed his arms, glaring at [member="Sabrina Kotass"] with his big fish-like eyes. "Do not forget, the Force is your tool. Use it to get through whatever gets in your way, be it guards or machinery. If you do it cleverly, nobody will ever know we were here." His hand touched the control panel in front of him and the projection stopped, erasing the image of a planet and the location of the mine.

Sabrina half smiled, she unsure if it was compliment, or not. Yes master, was her only real response, then he told why, she was posing as a miner. She listened carefully, how the force is a tool, and how the force will make his plan work. She nodded tentatively, as he explained his plan in detail.
Then [member="Darth Veles"] pulled up a holomap up, of the mine, she waited for him explain the plan. Soon after that they would land, and his plan would begin to unfold.

"If everything is clear, I will get us as close to the mine as possible, although it is necessary we keep our distance and land a kilometer or two away from our destination to remain hidden. And please, do not call me a Master, Acolyte. I am not your Master, nor do I hold the rank. There is no need to adress me as one." The Mon Calamari Sith calmly corrected his young companion and turned on his heels and left to the cockpit, where he slumped into the seat and took control over the ship once again, flying towards the orange planet that used to be the capital of the Fel Empire. The security was not as tight as it used to be before the change that happened to this once great state, making it easier for a lone ship to approach the planet without being bothered by authorities. Once Your Deathbed entered the planet's atmosphere, the Mon Calamari pilot continued the flight for a while, descending towards the small hills and staying low to avoid the radars that might reveal their position. The hills would also serve as great cover for the ship once they landed, so Avreet searched for a suitable hill as he slowed the thrust of the engines and his cybernetic eye started looking, analysing the terrain in great speed and immediately sending the information into his brain. Once such a convenient place was found, the Sith Knight briefly glanced at the current coordinates and the placement of the phrik mine. 1,1 kilometers away, that was not bad.

Stabilizing the ship and carefully descending until they finally touched the ground, the Mon Calamari turned one of his eyes to look at the control panel and started flipping many switches. Once more systems were no longer on, the young amphibious Sith stood from the seat and walked through the ship's corridors towards the exit, where he waited for the ramp to extend. Just a second before it touched the ground, he stepped on it and marcher over to the planet's surface. The ramp retracted after [member="Sabrina Kotass"] left the ship as well, while Avreet took several steps away from Your Deathbed and stared at it. He had not developed a feeling for the ship yet, but he'd hate to lose this vessel as well. Then there was the realization that if someone destroyed it, the two Sith would have to steal a transport to get off the planet.

It took a few seconds before Avreet swiveled his eyes back at Sabrina and nodded before taking off and swiftly going towards the mines. The light around him seemed to behave unnaturally, a result of him bending it, prepared to create a projection of himself wearing a guard uniform once he knew how those looked like. His large amber eyes darted around, not enjoying the landscape rather than searching for anyone who might see them. The Force was faster though, warning him of two lifeforms going in their direction. Without saying a word, the Mon Calamari disappeared and sprinted towards the patrol. Once he had them in sight, his cybertetic eye carefully studied their uniforms until he remembered every detail. Returning back to the Acolyte, the amphibious assassin appeared again, though this time wearing the same apparel as the two men he had seen. Beige trousers with black armor plates accompanied by a pair of black boots covered the Sith's legs, while his torso was hidden in a beige coat with a black vest over it. "How do I look?"

She listened to @dath veles, as told her not call him master, though she was unsure what else to call, since he was teaching her. As he began to get the ship, to land she looked for some thing, to get changed into. To disguise her as a miner, she was still looking when, ship landed, and darth veles disappeared. She then manged to find, a grey jump suit, about her size and high vis jacket, and hard hat.
She got changed, the jump suit was the wrong size, but it would do. As darth veles came back, she came out of the bathroom, where been getting changed. Then he asked her, how do I look?, their was only one answer she could give, Better than me. She replied with a slight chuckle, as they departed to begin this, training session.

Looking over her disguise, Avreet had to admit he had no idea where she managed to find something suitable. It would do though, unless they provided the young woman with a working uniform as he expected. “Follow me, then.” The Mon Calamari Knight ordered started walking away at a swift pace. Intentionally choosing the way that led around the approaching patrol, as he did not want the guards to spot them, Avreet took a route through the hills. This also presented the two Sith with an opportunity to take a look at the mine and see its security. The cybernetic eye magnified the image as he crept to avoid being noticed while having a good enough angle to see as much as possible. A large blast door leading deep underground, a small defense perimeter of metal walls surrounding the door and several buildings, many patrols wearing the same kind of clothing as Avreet had “created” around him, four large landspeeders for transport of material and personnel, a road leading towards the gate in the wall. Two turret towers at each building. The amphibious Sith smiled and nodded at his companion. Returning down the hill, he walked onto the road and went straight to the gate, where two men in guard uniforms approached the two disguised Sith. “State your business,” barked one of them. A simple nod as a greeting and he spoke. “I bring a replacement to the mine. I was told to escort her on her way and remain stationed here for further orders.” The Mon Cal stated, staring at the two with his big eyes.

One wave of the guard’s hand and the gate opened, letting the two in. where another guard approached them. “I’ll take her in and show her the place.” Avreet briefly looked at [member="Sabrina Kotass"] and nodded, letting the guard take her to the large door that slowly opened and swallowed the two before closing. From now on, she’d have to rely on herself. That was a good thing; the woman had to know that if she wanted to be a strong Sith. Her amphibian companion wouldn’t just leave her though; Avreet went to take a closer look at the various buildings to find a security center, provided they had it outside and not in the mine. Anything that’d allow him to slightly influence what was going on inside… His first action was to ask for toilets. After being pointed in the direction, he walked over there and in the moment nobody was looking at him, continued bending the light to completely disappear. This’d make sneaking into the buildings around much easier…

I put you, in loading bay`s. The guard remarked, as she was shown, to her new duties. He lead her a maze of corridor`s, and he lead to loading bay`s. Here you go zeppy, another worker, and try not to brake this one. Zeppy was stunted man, who looked her over, in away she did not appreciate.
Once the guard had gone, zeppy told her, That`s the ore, load it on to the conveyor belt. Sabrina head to her spot, and began to move the ore from cargo truck`s, on to the conveyor belt`s. She hated it, but she had to do it, as this was her master plan.
[member="Darth Veles"]

The Force told him of many sentient beings inside a sturdy looking building with guards at the door, that meant this building held some importance. Because he could not wait for someone to enter or leave so the door would open, as that might have cost him too much time he could devote to helping the Acolyte in the mines or doing something productive, the amphibian decided to check the building out. Ha massed the Force in his legs and jumped up, flying above the building and landing on the roof, invisible to the naked eye the entire time. His booted feet touched the metal roof soundlessly, as he bended sound as well as he did the light. A perfect skill for an assassin. Inspecting the area he landed on, his eyes noticed next to nothing that could help him; except for a ventilation shaft, grating in a perfect metal surface he stood on, covering a black hole that seemed to lead deeper into the building.

His cybernetic eye scanned it first for any sort of security devices that would alarm the entire camp. To his pleasant surprise, he'd have nothing to deal with, except for getting the fitting piece of metal off. The Mon Calamari crouched and inserted his clawed fingers into the spaces between the grating in an attempt to simply pull it out. No success, the grating was firmly attached by bolts. With no tools to do this the gentle way, he had to resort to brute strength. Taking the grating off with his cybernetic hand by slightly bending it before ripping it off, bending the sound of it cracking, Avreet finally opened himself a way inside. Without further hesitation, he slowly descended into the dark shaft, his eyes perfectly suited for such environment with their low-light vision.

Crawling through the tight space, the Mon Calamari could finally decloak himself, so he did. Avreet took several deep breaths when his form suddenly appeared again and stopped to rest, Force cloak has drained bit of his energy which he now wanted to replenish. Closing his eyes, the amphibian entered a trance-like state typical for meditations where his mind fully connected to the Force and he fed on the energy around. The young Sith Knight reached out through the Force, navigating between dozens of presences to the one he wanted to find. "What is your status, Acolyte? Is everything alright?" Avreet telepathically asked [member="Sabrina Kotass"].

Sabrina could hear, [member="Darth Veles"] voice, inside her head, "What is your status, Acolyte? Is everything alright?". She had to concentrate, to reply to him, this meant stop working for a moment. She replied I am in warehouse loading ore, I am in no danger. She then carried on loading, the ore. Zeppy how ever spotted her, and he saw it as slacking off, Oi you, you just lost your first hour`s wage, no more slacking, or else. Sabrina just put head down, and carried on working, she did not want draw attention to her self, though it was tempting to do some thing to him.

Loading ore? Avreet could not help but to softly chuckle as the image of [member="Sabrina Kotass"] matearilazed in his mind. The very idea of a Sith working like that seemed very amusing, though whether Sabrina realized it or not, honest work like this would only make her stronger, which was a very good thing. Turning his focus back on the task at hand, the amphibious Sith continued to crawl through the ventilation shaft. Stripes of light eventually penetrated the darkness as he rounded the corner. It blinded his real eye for a second, but after his sight adjusted, he could see the grating that would let his exit the confined space. Carefully approached, the Sith Knight peeked through the gaps, his eyes scanning a well lit room that lied in front of him, with a desk and a computer sitting in the corner. No sentient beings in there, although the fact that the lights were on indicated someone was going to return. Kicking out the grating and silencing its fall on the metal floor, Avreet had opened his way to the rest of the building. After getting out of the shaft and placing the grading back, he slowly became transparent until completely disappearing. The Force gave him a warning just in time, as a guard entered the room. Instead of taking him out, the amphibian crept behind his back and left the room before the door closed.

Appearing in a bland hallway with a choice to go either left or right, the Knight marched to the right to meet a corner, his footsteps on the metal would have echoed through the building had he not bended the sound. He could definitely hear and feel someone approaching from behind the corner. Pressing his body against the wall until the guard passed next to him, the Mon Calamari's gaze followed the man, watching him disappear in one of the rooms. The fishy Sith quickly focused on the Force and attempted to find the area with most people in it. In less than a minute, he knew its location, so he continued his walk until he reached the door. With no guards patrolling around, he opened the door and watched three heads look up in surprise only to see nothing in the door that just opened. Casually walking in, the invisible assassin looked over the room first. Aside from the three guards sitting in front of monitors and a plan on the wall, there was not much, but it was all he needed. He took a picture of the plan with his cybernetic eye and gazed at the monitors. On one of the screens, an image of his complice could be seen, loading ore. Again, he had to smile.
