Hey everyone!

I'm working to populate this forum with useful information to help people get started. But this isn't just *my* faction. While the general over arching theme is set in stone (don't even think about bombarding a planet or chucking irresponsible force powers around, aright? ) there is still a lot of room for fleshing out and ideas from everyone!

Feel free to post here.

Things that would be specifically useful to me, but please don't limit it to these:

-Canon or factory tech that might be of use to us! Things like medical ships, transports, portable medical technology, pre-fab aid camps, etc.
-RP ideas! I have a number, but more is always good!
-IC Jobs and Positions within the Order

I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

To throw a few additional ideas into the mix.

- A few overseer/head department Jobs/Position that come to mind are:
- Grandmaster of the Jedi Sector
- Head of Communication (would be in charge of spreading the word of the Order, for those that are in need of them. In addition could also be responsible for maintaining a network to keep a set of eyes and ears out in the galaxy.
- Head of Security (because lets face it, the OSL is bound to get some bad attention as it grows).

Those are atleast the first few that immediately come to mind.

I think making a list of potential "positions" for people to utilize IC would be great. Maybe we can get a big list going and then we'll slim it down? Once we have a better idea of who is joining and will be active, we can definitely start doing stuff like that!

Instructors of different kinds of learning would be a good way to start a list, kinda like in college. Jedi History, training in the various abilities, the Force, etc.

I'd second that, would be very helpful. Probably could do with a whole schooling system given that even non-Force folks will need to learn various areas of medicine and healing if their saying learning to be a Medic.

Not to mention there will have to be some folks in place to teach the more less experienced folks how things are going to be during times of war, on battlefields; during and post.

[member="Elijah Henson"], [member="Calder Icehammer"] [member="Bethany Kismet"], I would also like to mention on the teaching aspect, We could do more than just force sensitives, and PC characters.

If this faction is about saving as many people from warzones as we can, with our home planet as a base of operations, we also need to have dedicated people who are willing to teach possible orphans, or people who have a lack of education to begin with.

For positions and roles that we can make, and be filled, we need more than just a "Head of Security" More so we should have Naval officers since I believe that most of our soldiers would be pilots or soldiers upon these vessels. Having a pure standing military would be wrong for this kind of organization in my mind. Maybe broaden the title a little to not just a security force, but have just only one force as a whole that works together in tandem.

IE: No Airforce, marines, navy, and army. Just have one military/security group.

I am in 100% agreement that this faction does *not* need armies. But there will be people whose.... unpleasant attention we draw. Something like a militia, only called in times that Monastery is at risk perhaps? I know that [member="Malok"] has offered to have ApeX help with security, and we're working on an RP in that direction as well.

And yes, also love the idea of making sure there are people who would teach far more than just force related. People who will teach farming, reading and writing, history, various trades, etc. Those are things that any PC in the faction can take on as roles for themselves- no formality needed there (You say you teach orphans to read? Congrats, you teach orphans to read )

[member="Bethany Kismet"], Back to the ideas at hand, I have a random idea of people who are trained to fight and what not to have "Hot extractions" or who can be trained to specifically go into very bad, and maybe in some cases of suicidal missions, to rescue others.

I know I can throw Sage into that because he is a "Drive" themed pilot.

I had been entertaining the idea of leaving behind a battalion or so of personnel in order to form a "Lotus Guard." It would essentially be permanent security for the Sanctuary and those it shelters. Enough to hose down an antsy show off with blaster fire, but leagues away from conquering anything.

Would you like to consolidate our ideas?

Malok's men are already combat-ready, so tasking them with extractions on top of security is not above them. That, and it would mean we have two writers already working towards the same end!

As for technology we need, I'll go digging. Between canon and OG-Republic approved items, we'll be swimming in what we need.

[member="Malok"], [member="Bethany Kismet"], As much as Sage would have to bite his tongue for you being a Sith, or related dark sider, He could see it working. I would like to do that. You already have me on Discord so if we need to do more planning we can talk there. Or we can make a thread here to see if others would be interested since I know that not everybody reads through threads like these all the time.

Classes and specialists on non-lethal self-defense techniques would be probably useful like Echani pressure-point strikes or something along the lines, a lot of us know how to fight but usually in a way that maximizes killing efficiency or maiming, and while the Force users have a greater assortment of tactics at their disposal to knock out or disarm the opponent, us non-Force users tend to go for a blaster or slugthrower first since tasers can be negated by contemporary Chaos armor, chemicals work on those without air filters in their helmets, if they have lungs and weakness to chemicals in the first place, and when it comes to hand-to-hand combat in a world of Force Gods and monsters unless you really know what you're doing you can get pretty screwed pretty quickly.

I would also be wary of sending in armed troops into or close to combat zones without proper training in Form Zero and Conflict Resolution since one wrong move and we could become just another army on the field, making not only us the targets as combatants but also endanger the civilians we came to rescue in the first place.

I was thinking about whether or not the Order should reach out to Major Factions, especially First Order and the Alliance since they just kicked off their war, and set up an agreement to have them acknowledge us ahead of time as a third and neutral party who would come only to look after the security and well being of citizens. But that also raises the questions whether the Order would also offer healing services like combat surgery to actual soldiers from both sides during battles and whether the Order's services would be limited to the duration of the battle or should they stick around afterwards to help out with the aftermath and make sure that the population would not suffer if the regime of the planet changes hands?

I thought of an interesting position that i have always kept my eye on. What about a Jedi Historian or archivist that could keep records and watch them, as well as perhaps Jedi Archaeologists to excavate and study force nexuses related to the Jedi of old.
