Cats and Crows

"Fine."

Kobayashi rolled over onto all fours, shifting into his feline form as he did so. With an almost sarcastic air, the gigantic wildcat gently brushed the leg of the flying woman (who was now at eye level with him) and sat down on his haunches like a housecat waiting for a snack. It's huge, blue, eyes still matched her gaze unflinchingly, and looked exactly like those of his humanoid form.

Morrigan's eyes widened as the man shifted into a massive white leopard. She couldn't contain her sense of awe as she leaned in closer to his face, looking into his eyes. "Breath-taking..." She murmured. "Even if you did cheat..." She grinned. She reached across to his face again, this time to stroke it a bit. "I don't suppose you have a name, do you? It would be much nicer to call you something other than 'the blue-eyed cat-man'."

Kobayashi yowled slightly at the woman's touch on his face, and pulled her back to ground level with him as he shifted so he could talk. Her hand remained on his cheek, and he continued to stare into her face, slightly confused.

"I'm Kobayashi... People started calling me 'Jester' after I was tortured. In Atrisian, that'd be 'Dōkeshi'."

His tail twitched uncertainly, and he found himself wondering why he'd held her hand on his face like that. But she smelled good. Why was that making him react so much?

[member="Morrigan"]

"Hmmm.... Kobayashi. Can be a bit of a mouthful, with three syllables. I shall call you Koba, then." Morrigan continued to stroke his cheek slightly, moving her fingers over the designs on his mask. She flicked a strand of his unkempt white hair out of his eyes. "I wish my name was as fun to say. Unfortunately, it's a bit stuffy. But it's mine, all the same... You may call me Morrigan. My titles include Aviary Sovereign, Goddess of the Skies, and The Empress of Birds." She chuckled a bit at her own words. She did cherish each of her names, but sometimes, they did seem a bit ridiculous.

Kobayashi shrugged, letting Morrigan run her hand over his face like she seemed to want to. He didn't think her name was overly stuffy. It was a name, and it meant something.

"Morrigan... 'Phantom Crow Goddess'. How apt. Those wings of yours are beautiful."

He gently moved his own, clawed, hand up to his mask.

"So you do like my mask. I thought you wanted me to take it off."

[member="Morrigan"]

Morrigan shrugged. "Just because I don't want you to wear it twenty-four-seven doesn't mean that I don't like it. It's very intricately decorated." She twitched her wings slightly when he mentioned them. "That's a title I have yet to receive actually. And I'm afraid my wings pale in comparison to your lovely leopard form."
[member="Dōkeshi"]

Kobayashi might have smiled at the comment about his leopard form, if he could've. Instead he simply slid his mask down to his neck and stared into Morrigan's face.

"Your expression was... Amusing. You knew I was a Felecatian, but not the strangest part about being a polymorphic race."

His gaze softened a bit, and he looked at the harp.

"You play very well, Morrigan. I'm, ah-"

He twitched the claw fingers that were still over hers on his mask.

"-out of practice."

Morrigan smirked a tiny bit. She'd heard of the Felacations and their wondrous ability, but she'd never seen one in action before. It had been quite amazing. She looked over to her beloved harp. "Perhaps I could give you lessons. I learned to play because I have a deep passion for music. All Shaliz'Na share this trait, though I believe it varies regarding intensity." She wasn't obsessed or anything. Though, she did grow rather cross if she doesn't play at least one tune in the morning. She gently weaved her fingers in between Koba's claw and lead him over to the instrument. "You're a privileged one, Koba. Normally, I only play my melodies for my birds..."
[member="Dōkeshi"]

Kobayashi let himself be dragged towards the harp with the same smile-like twitch that had been on his face the whole time. The only thing that bothered him a tiny bit was the shortened version of his name. "Koba" was literally just a truncated version of his name. Plus, it sounded like he was some kind of Atrisian noodle. He was absolutely sure that he was a weird, corrupted, ghostly, CAT-person.

"Can you, uh, call me Koby? Calling me Koba is making me hungry."

[member="Morrigan"]

Morrigan laughed. "Of course, dear. Whatever you like! Koby it is." She sat Koby down on the stump, coming around and adjusting his arms and legs accordingly. "Now, you'll have to be a bit delicate with your claw when stroking the strings, but I do believe you can still play." She stood behind him, gently placing her hands on top of his. Her face rested lightly on his shoulder, her cheek just barely grazing against his. Slowly and steadily, she began moving her fingers, and his with hers.

"You see?" Morrigan whispered to him. "You are a wonderful harpist...."

Morrigan was… so close… Their hands were lightly flowing over the harp, making beautiful sounds that Kobayashi didn't fully connect with the gentle touch of his claw. He knew he was perfectly capable of full motor control with the sharp-edged left fingers, but couldn't conceive of the music he was creating. He was very conscious of one thing, though: the winged woman smelled amazing, and she was close to him. It was intoxicating.

"You… you smell good."

[member="Morrigan"]

Morrigan smiled as they continued creating music together. "You think so? I've never really noticed my scent. You smell nice as well. Like fresh air and leaves." She could hear the strangeness in his tone when he spoke. It was almost... happy. And Koby claimed he could feel no emotion. She KNEW she was right! Her eyes left their hands for a moment, glancing to his face. "Your skin is soft, too. So is your fur. You must groom often." She said, teasing him slightly.

Kobayashi's head tilted back, so he could look directly at Morrigan's eyes. His eyebrow was raised far enough up to disappear into his bangs.

"Like a bloody Hapan princess. I wonder, do you pick away at those feathers yourself, or do those little birdies help?"

He let go of the harp and gently brushed his claw against her hand. The teasing was something he could understand, at least... He was always looking for amusement.

[member="Morrigan"]

Morrigan had to laugh at that one. It wasn't bad for someone who claimed to be so serious. "Actually, they only help during molting season. Normally, my feathers stay attached fairly well." She reached over and lightly stroked his hair a bit. Even it was soft! She grinned looking back into Koby's eyes. "Your eyes... They remind me of the sky on a winter's morning..." That was a bit of a deep thought for Morrigan. She never really had as many of them as she could, and the ones she did, she kept to herself. But she felt she could share at least this one thought with him.

Kobayashi's eyes widened at Morrigan's description of them. She was... What was she doing? He didn't know, or care much. He was enjoying it. His claw gently closed over her hand, and he pulled her a bit closer.

"The sky, says the bird."

He put his face close enough to whisper to the winged lady. He was used to having deep thoughts like he one Morrigan had just thrown out there, but he had memories of things from before he was tortured... Beautiful things.

"Yours remind me of a ring I used to wear on my left hand... It was silver, with a lovely blue stone in it."

[member="Morrigan"]

Morrigan didn't hesitate in the slightest to close more distance between herself and the handsome Felacatian. "A ring? I suppose it was beautiful to you, then?" She replied with a flirtatious grin. Today was turning out to be one of the best days she'd had in years. First a peaceful place to play her harp, and now a fascinating and attractive male to keep her company. It was uncanny!
[member="Dōkeshi"]

Kobayashi let Morrigan up close to him until his arms were almost around her, and slowly nodded once.

"Painfully so. I lost it well... that day. I can't remember why it was so special, or why I always wore it, but it was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen."

He noticed, now, how close the feathered woman was to him. The smell from her was still overpowering, like somebody had dropped Zeltron pheromones all over her.

"You don't really want me, do you?"

[member="Morrigan"]

Her face would suddenly grow serious for a moment. Koby believed himself to be a loathsome, inhumane monster, incapable of emotion or anything good. But even though she had met him little over two hours before, Morrigan could see that he was so much more. She wanted him to see that, too. "Kobayashi. I don't believe that you could ever possibly be more wrong..."
She placed both her hands at the base of his neck. She then closed the distance between their lips.
[member="Dōkeshi"]

Kobayashi's mind just went from self-deprecating denial of Morrigan's attraction to him, to a vast empty space of LolNope. He felt himself fall backwards off the tree stump and gently brought the winged lady down with him. He let himself relax, and his arms were around her, keeping her close. Having his upper lip mostly paralyzed didn't stop him from moving his bottom one along with the bird woman's. Finally coming up for air, he looked right in her eyes.

"You're crazier than I am."

Then he leaned up and kissed her without waiting for an answer.

[member="Morrigan"]

Ah. Someone finally put the pieces together! What was once a hesitant stranger was now an eager participant in what Morrigan could only refer to as a "snog-fest". For someone who had never done so before (at least, as far as she knew), Koby was surprisingly a natural. He wasn't really moving his upper lip at all. His bottom lip was having to pull double-duty, but was passing the test with flying colors.
Morrigan continued this kissing session with the Felacatian. She didn't want to sleep with him just yet, however. She felt that it would be better for both Kobayashi and herself if this new-found relationship was taken slow and steady.
