The same tents that were used yesterday for the concerts and shows were now being used once again. This time they were decorated as a bunch of bars and dance halls for the Charity Fundraiser. Cases of Commenori Brandy were on hand to be handed out at the end of the night for each of the guests. One table, which was guarded by two armoured individuals, held prizes to be auctioned off, as well as a chest that was fitted with a lock and a slit at the top.

Various little stages and tables were in each tent. But it was the larger tent that Kay had entered. She was wearing a sparkling blue dress that glimmered when she had gotten to the stage. Her eyes looked over those in attendance, noting where her guards were, her friends, as well as her enemies. It wasn't as though she was expecting trouble, but with lots of credits being spent tonight, one never knows who would attempt to take advantage of such an opportunity.

dark-city.jpg

Kay cleared her throat a little and then started up another little speech. That seemed to be one of the unfortunate requirements of being a President. You had to do a lot of speeches. "Friends, dignitaries and family....Thank you for coming to our Charity Fundraiser. There is plenty for you to spend your money on, including a 50/50 draw which you can enter at that table with the two imposing guards. I even heard rumour that there will be an auction for a date with my brother, [member="James Justice"] later this evening. All proceeds will be going towards students wanting to attend our University, as well as to the reconstruction and aid for Korriban. And those with businesses or Embassies here, your donations will be tax deductible, so please, give generously. It's for great causes.

And now for my contribution, I'm going to do a little busking. Please be kind, and thank you all once again."

The musicians behind her took their places. Kay took in a deep breath and let it out slowly, before giving them the nod to start. And then she began to sing a short song:

When it was (finally) over, Kay picked up a fedora, turned it upside down and did what buskers always did at the end of a performance, she started to wander the crowd for donations.

Making sure he was on time today he got there "fashionably" late so he could blend in when he got there, same suit, same blaster strapped to his back. He laughed soft as he walked in finding a seat at the bar getting a Correlian Ale, as always and walked as [member="Lady Kay"] walked on stage. He listened to her words about the donations and then listening to her song, the tone filled his ears as he closed his eyes soft imagining the good days as a bodyguard at a club on Nar Shaada, shaking his head soft clearing the thoughts back to what was important and what he was getting paid for he glanced around at Lady Kay as she walked through the people and asked for donations, making sure to be brisk as he did this he found a seat in her immediate path and stood up slowly when she walked over. Being polite he gave 25,000 credits into her fedora and softly murmured to her.

"It may not be a lot for what these people might put in, but it's a lot for a man like me, put it to good use, please."

Making sure she couldn't get a word in he turned immediately on his heels and walked away casually not to make too much of a scene as he walked back to the bar and sipped on his ale again starting to get into focus and tagging immediate threats with his eyes darting around the large tent looking for signs of danger towards Lady Kay, and looking around for [member="Kei Garnik"] to fix his tie today.

Darben had left a tired Mute at the apartment the night before. It really tired her out, and she did not enjoy the crowds as much as he did. He then headed back the next day, having a small case of earnings from his store. He wished he could have done more, being a rather charitable individual. But 19,000 credits was all he could spare from his store, since it was still relatively new. He put it into [member="Lady Kay"]'s fedora, then remained seated there, in waiting. He cared not for the prizes. But he was eager to see who did get them.

[member="Lady Kay"] looked stunning. Sure it wasn't his job to be eyeing up the one he was supposed to be guarding though both the dress and her confidence in standing before so many, speaking as openly as she did and really putting herself one-hundred percent into her role as the Lady President of Commenor, Veiere couldn't help but smirk to himself as he admired the view. Unlike Kay Larr however, he stood off to the side of the stage, the lights putting most of the focus upon her though he was not completely out of sight, simply out of mind as his attention soon shifted to the rest of the crowd while she began to speak her piece.

By the second day, it no longer surprised him when the guests offered him a second glance; his traditional and rather worn in Jedi garments, the typical tunic along with the darker brown robe generally caught the eye of the public though now rumor had spread that both he and another by the name of [member="Ryn'Dhal"] were part of the Presidential security team and not only that but he was a trusted advisor of office. Veiere wasn't necessarily proud of it, a former Jedi now so heavily mixed up in politics when he'd only tried to avoid them yet it was his connection and dare he think it, relationship with Kay that kept him so close during these times. Originally only a hired guard before she had taken the mantle as President to the trade world, things had moved so fast for both of them that Veiere had to remind himself of the greater cause before his pride took stabs at him for how the position contradicted his former life.

He waited and watched in observant silence. The sound of her voice carried across the tent where many had gathered in support and admiration of her. He had never heard her sing, never actually seen her step out so much into the public as she was in this moment. Frankly, it was difficult not to be distracted by it all...-Yet he would not forget his place, at-least not now when so much else depended on his mind to be focused on the moment, watching for any sign of concern or mishap.

Kay smiled and thanked a few that plopped in about 50 credits or 100 credits, all of them seeming to be surprised by her singing and not unkind with their comments on it. And then [member="John Shepherd"] stood up and put in a rather large sum. Her mouth dropped slightly as she took in his words. As she was about to speak to him, his back was already turned and he had lost himself in the crowd. She had expected maybe to have that amount in total tossed into the fedora, not expecting it to be one of the first donations of the evening. Regardless, she was going to make it up to the man.

[member="Darben Skirae"] approached her next with another large sum of credits. She smiled and bowed her head. "Thank you Minister Skirae. You are too kind."

And then she continued making her way through the crowd, slowing her walk so that she'd be close enough to [member="Veiere Arenais"] so that he could hear her, "I wonder if people are trying to pay me in hopes that I won't sing in public again..." She laughed a little, in spite of herself. Singing in public was not something that she wanted to make a habit of. It was difficult and gave her even more things to stress over. Hopefully this would be the first and the last.

Out of the rafters tonight, the young Knight approached his beloved sister, bowing formally before her as she made her rounds with her hat. A credit chit was tossed into her hat, it's value indiscernible at a glance. But, with the allowance James gave his little brother, it was easy to assume that it was definitely a high value chit. He was well outside his element, dressed as he was, but he filled the tailored suit well. Tapping a digit to his face-plate in a calm salute, he would, much like [member="John Shepherd"], depart before Kay could even utter a syllable of protest. He meandered, before settling at the bar to 'people watch'. Or, more accurately, maintain a watch of the proceedings.

Many acts were performing. Off in the distance, he heard a faint tune that brought back long distant memories. Idly he'd roll his wrist, his fingers almost 'dancing', if you will, to the music he picked up on. Had he not had a duty to fulfill, and crippling fear of xenophobic responses to his appearance, he'd have almost loved nothing more than to go and dance. A simpler time, the only time I could lose myself from the pain.... he thought to himself wistfully. At the bar he continued to observe, primarily watching Kay as she worked her way through the crowd, Veiere close behind her.

I wonder.....

The sheer amount of creativity and the subjective nature of the past two days' celebrations had left Ultimatum with many thoughts. The foremost of these was astonishment at the fact that organics could achieve such amazing feats with seemingly simple methodology. Specifically the origins of the music and plays that these would have come from. What would have inspired organics to blow into pieces of wood or rub strings together to produce melodies of old? The concept of oral dissipation of stories was not such a difficult for the droid, after all that had been the only way that history could be passed down for a number of centuries, it was not a large leap to go from telling history to telling stories.

Ultimatum was surprised to see [member="Lady Kay"] herself taking to singing. It was an unexpected talent that perhaps he should have guessed at. She appeared to be skilled, based on the money she was making, then again it was probably a combination of multiple factors, nonetheless she was doing well. The droid was unsure if she would recognize him, given that he was in a very different body compared to that which was his usual abode. He was trying out a less hostile appearance, there had been too much blood shed recently and he wanted to shed that skin of Phrik to become something else. At least for a time, after all in an organic world conflict was a rule, not an exception. The droid felt oddly out of place, no good clothes to speak of he had opted to simply have the body made in a darker tone so as to be less conspicuous. He would not apologize, though he felt guilty for his lack of better garments, because on Mustafar finding a working seamstress or tailor was incredibly difficult on short notice, compounded by the fact that most people wore full protective raiment outside on that world.

The droid noted that Kay was busy with plenty of people, perhaps it would be better to wait until the floor was a little more clear around her before he would wish her congratulations. For the time being he moved to the bar, deciding it was a safe place to watch the party unfold, it might upset some potential patron but the droid was not too concerned. Something that the droid was unused to, a new feeling, that of uncertainty. He had never truly been in a crowd of unknown people. He had been over such a crowd, he had been in a crowd of known faces, and he had been in an army of known allies. This was entirely different, instance. The droid took strange comfort in knowing a couple of the faces he picked up while he looked around. They were like steady stones in the moving waters of his surroundings. When Ultimatum thought about it, it was a rather strange response, after all he should have been capable of handling the surroundings, but he still felt uneasy.

Moving to the bar, Ultimatum took a seat near to @Ryn D'hal, looking around for a moment and taking in the area once more. He spoke to no one in particular, looking at the ceiling as he did so, "Definitely different than I would have anticipated."

"Jessica Med-Beq, member of the Techno Empire executive council" she announced herself at the entrance.

She deposited a batch of 100,000 credits in the designated container. That was a lot of credits; then again, Jedi were expected to provide funding to charities especially when they ran major corporations. But the "corporate Jedi" were a rare breed and she knew it. For the first time that the Techno Empire officials set foot on Commenor, Jessica would never have expected that the attendees even know about the Techno Empire in the first place. She was a little late to the party but some disturbances stemming from Hypori being a detour caused by her use of Instinctive Astrogation Control - flying from Geonosis to Commenor was Summer is to form up here, soon, she thought, even though at the other end of the galaxy. Oh and she immediately recognized one of the faces of Castameer, when she was just a fresh Padawan - in a month or two she made enough progress as a Jedi to be on the cusp of knighthood. She was therefore seated next to [member="Ultimatum"]:

"Ultimatum, you probably remember me from Castameer, where I was sent on a mission to steal schematics so that the Techno Empire intelligence could know what to expect if the Rogue One Sith was to hit Geonosis. Here comes my wife now, Summer" She turned to her wife, Summer. "Summer, in a few more days I will take over your training. For the time being, I will stay on your right side"

Kay paused in her tracks as [member="Ryn'Dhal"] put a credit chit into her fedora. It was an odd thing that her bodyguards were donating as well. But perhaps that was part of their cover. Or perhaps they really were fantastic people that she was honoured to know. Maybe it was a but of both.

Before she could respond, Ryn had walked off. Kay smirked to herself. They knew that she was stubborn and would protest the high amounts that they had given, but it was appreciated nonetheless. Just as their hard work during these Celebrations were appreciated.

With the fedora getting a tad full, she headed over to the donation box. The guards posted there made no move to stop her as she slid the credits inside. On her way back, Kay paused as [member="Jessica Med-Beq"] announced herself at the doorway. Techno Empire? She wondered if that was anything like the Techno Union. That was certainly something to look into.

Kay began her wanderings again, slowing her pace as she heard [member="Ultimatum"] 's name. Was he here? She glanced around, unable to see over everyone as some people were taller than she was. But then there he was. Or at least there was a droid with a darker body than the one that she knew. Did he somehow switch bodies? That was something that she would have to inquire about. But right now he seemed to have a few wishing to speak with him, so Kay just smiled and continued her rounds.

No sign of [member="Flannigan Mcnash"] or his crew tonight, so so far, so good.

Jed entered the tent not long after his associate, [member="Jessica Med-Beq"] had arrived. Supposedly on official business as a representative of the Techno Empire, both a diplomatic and military one. Although his dazzling uniform and title described him as a military man, it was far from the truth. He was a business man at heart, and soon this little charade as a military officer would come to a close, but not until he had acquired what he most desperately wanted, power in the Techno Empire. His company not enough of a head turner for a high position among the corporate sector of the empire, he used what meager support the Banking Federation gave to leverage himself into the position of Colonel, and now he planned on rising the ranks to further gain influence in the empire and let his company grow until such time he could leave the military hierarchy to enjoy a lofty position among the private sector in the Techno Empire. Although anything military utterly disgusted him, a side affect of his father, he did enjoy the ornate clothing, and luxurious sides of being a rather high ranking officer. Although he was more of a dress officer than a combat, or strategic one, not that it bothered him, he knew his ways of rising through any organization, whether it be an army or a company, and attending this social event was such a way to do so.

Kerkov put on his signature smile and began his little jaunt around the tent, and gazed at the many visitors he would most definitely mingle with. There was a robot by the name of [member="Ultimatum"], foreign to Jed, but no doubt one to meet. The rather oddly dressed [member="Ryn'Dhal"] also seemed one to converse with, but his eyes went straight to the president herself, [member="Lady Kay"]. He approached her at the donation box, inserting an amount of 75,000 credits through his own earnings from the Banking Federation, before he spoke, "President Kay, how wonderful is it to see you since our last encounter. How might i ask are affairs in Commenor?"

Tiali for the last time opened the case peeking in checking on the contents once more before closing it again, flipping the clips to securely close it. Sliding it off the table he began making his way case at hand to todays event, but before he does there would be a little detour before the conclusion of arrival.

Making his way to the presidential accomodation he spotted the assistant/Receptionist at the front desk making his way over he asked "Can you drop this off to president Kay after today's event it would mean a lot to me" he slides the case onto the desk along with a tip to the assistant. Nodding he turns to head out for today's event, before the assistant could ask any questions or queries.

Walking in rather late to the event he looked around for the closest seat from the entrance, but due to his late arrival this made the task at hand very hard, so instead of making a plausible scene he stood at the back watching over the event. It wouldn't change the greatness of the day no matter where he was seated or stood.

Tiali Wore the same suit as the day before alone with the same WESTAR-34 blaster pistol at his side.

[member="Lady Kay"]

Ultimatum turned and took a more serious position before responding. He in fact did not recall the appearance of the woman, but the event around the person was enough to bring the memory back. The droid responded with a metallic knuckle to his forehead before replying, "Glad to hear that my aid allowed the Techno Empire to be prepared." Before turning his attention outward, he figured that [member="Jessica Med-Beq"] was speaking now to her padawan. The droid stayed put nonetheless, turning his attention to those around him. Yesterday he had caught sight of an acquaintance, another Sith who Ultimatum had briefly worked beside for awhile, but he did not see that man here today.

With the momentary uncertainty gone, the droid composed himself and turned to watch as yet another organic went up to speak to [member="Lady Kay"]. His was just another random face that Ultimatum had to force himself to not record. It was going to be a long day and there would be so many different people that to record each and every single face would take up far more data than the droid was willing to put to the task. Truthfully he had a limited supply, though he hoped to increase it considerably in the near future. Until such a time, he was to keep his data input to a minimum except in extenuating circumstances.

The droid looked forward to talking with Kay, she seemed to be doing well. But then again, officials often had to hide their feelings in order to maintain an appearance of collectedness. At least that was the droid's experience.

He was done with the tie for a while, instead choosing to don some reasonably formal tunic he found in a small, family owned store on the outskirts of Chasin City. He was also done with using T3 as his personal alarm, the little droid let him oversleep. Kei was left half running through the city, stopping only to avoid knocking over a little old lady, to make his destination on time. Of course, he was still late, turning up on time would of been much too easy. He frowned as he walked inside slowly, the blaster at his side today, the lightsaber still hidden inside the tunic, easier to grab this time.

He took a little time to depost a credit chip into the fundraiser box, 100,000 credits. It was all he had, he'd broken into his rainy day fund and his "I just robbed a rich dude" fund but hey, they were fundraising for something important and Kei was all for being nice sometimes, being a stroppy karker got boring and you needed a break of happiness to avoid going insane. His eyes darted around the room, looking for a seat. The damned droid had cost him his seat, Kei's best friend, best droid had cost him his seat. Kei shook his head, leaning in the corner slowly, right next to [member="Tiali Orazio"], ready to see what was going down.

Summer was awfully quiet this time around, but she has always been much more quiet around large-scale get-togethers than she was around her in intimacy. She just loved how Jessica was a genius with some redeeming qualities compared to her current master, and not simply because she used the Force with seemingly arbitrary levels of precision, or even her ability to understand any Force-power mechanism and use the corresponding power, even though her power may be a little low. But Jessica had to form up with another fellow from the Techno Empire, that she has briefly known: [member="Jed Kerkov"]. She knew the Banking Federation had interests on Geonosis, and that the Techno Empire was fledgling and trying to recover from the Ryloth PR debacle, even though it wasn't a debacle in terms of military losses. Luckily Jessica's stunning looks for her size allowed her to turn heads: she was, by human/Near-Human standards, massive. Wookiee-sized even. Plus she was even accused at times of being more droid than person due to her ability to calculate the effects of the Force with hauntingly arbitrary precision when she uses it.

*Clank* *Clank* *Clank*

The sound of metal meeting ground lowly echoed the concert tent, a grey hand peaked though the tent entrance as it pushed the entrance open larger. Emerging from the extended entrance a monstrous sized armored individual entered. Behind him a small disturbance in the force followed the noicy armored monster, this other individual was covered head to toe in designer black clothing, and topped off with a highly designed mask to cover his identity. When the Armored man stopped, the follower stopped as well. The monster sized man was Jaster Awaud, though dead by many, now come to visit an old friend, the follower, [member="Tydus Wryeens"], a student of the man in armor.

Jaster scanned the area, seeing faces he hadn't seen in nearly 5-6 years, but most were unknown to him. That was until he saw what he was looking for. The armored man slowly walked tword the front of stage where [member="Lady Kay"] was gathering credits in a fedora. Jaster reached back to Tydus and was handed a credo chip. Jaster walked right up to her and with his metallic fist he dropped a single 5 credit bar in the hat. "Seems you pick up a new skill in my absence." Standing 6'5", he looked down at the women with his red glowing eyes from his helmet.

Kay was quite surprised to see [member="Jed Kerkov"] arrive. Well not so much in him being there, but the fact that he was wearing a military dress uniform. Outside of the different shade of his skin, he looked similar to his father, [member="William Kerkov"] . She raised a brow slightly, but then smiled. People change. "Thank you for the donation. Commenor is doing quite well, as you can see. The economy is doing better and everyone seems happy. How are you doing as of late?"

And then a rather tall armoured individual arrived, with [member="Tydus Wryeens"] in behind him. She looked at the donation in the fedora and grinned as she recognized the voice of someone that she hasn't seen in quite some time, [member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"] . "Yes well...I felt that with everyone else working hard, I might as well contribute a little something too. I'm more than just a figurehead, you know." Or at least, that's what she wanted others to realize. Though many of her friends pushed her into running in the election so that she'd get into less trouble and would be easier to track. Yet with the Hutt Cartel dropping by for a 'visit', it seemed as though trouble had a way of seeking her out when she least expected it.

LOCATION: COMMENOR, THE FESTIVITIES
CURRENT EQUIPMENT: PERFORMING ATTIRE
CURRENT MOOD: FEELING THE GENEROSITY
OBJ: PUT ON A GOOD SHOW
From within the gathered crowd, an extremely large figure stood. Almost a void in the gathering, a being dressed in all black began to make its way towards the stage, taking a set of stairs up onto the performing area. Following the tuxedo-ed beast was a group of less-imposing figures, toting various instruments. Ghorua clapped his hands together, prepping himself for the spectacle he was about to perform.

He had been asked by the Lady to perform at the gala, and had happily obliged. Kay was a good person, and if this cause meant so much to her that she would sing in front of her people, it must be just. Of course, he didn't put any of his own money in, that would be silly, but if he could be of service in other ways, he would be glad to.

The 10'5'' Herglic sauntered up to [member="Lady Kay"], a giant smile on his dark face. "Great performance, Mi'lady, but if you don't mind, I'll perform my set now." Ghorua rested a hand on her shoulder before placing an oversized mic in front of his face.

One wouldn't peg the Shark for a singer on first impressions. The Bounty Hunter was beyond muscled, with pitch-black eyes, pointed teeth, and tall physique. But his attire, which consisted of an all-black three-piece suit, and his deep, smooth voice might hint at his musical prowess. He had even purchased a sky-blue tie for the event, which seemed to shimmer in the spotlight. He cleared his throat into the mic, a sound reminiscent of rolling thunder.

"Wasn't that a great performace, Commenor?" Cheers and polite clapping followed. "Our president sure has pipes, I'll give her that. But in the spirit of giving, I figure we need a little something to heat things up." A contingent of Wookiees and Herglics, all wearing the symbol of the Goliath Company, cleared a section of tables, to create a makeshift dance floor. "Feel free to grab that special someone, and bring them down. Now..." The lights dimmed slightly, and candles were lit. "Let me, Fish-Lips, take y'all for a ride."

https://youtu.be/br-Dy3puDoc

The band Ghorua had put together were all music majors from the University, a gesture some might appreciate. The Shark's persona, Fish-Lips, hadn't been his own invention. It was a memento from his childhood. If he hadn't gone into the Bounty Hunting business, perhaps Ghorua would've been a singer.

As he finished, he looked back to the students with a congratulatory nod. They smiled back, obviously nervous to be in front of so many people. The Herglic had gotten a few days to rehearse with the group, and he could tell they had bright futures in front of them. Hopefully, the University had a bright future as well.

The music was always an interesting choice, the bands playing were good, just not Jasters taste, he was more a man of the classics choices. Kay did a good job, he heard it from outside, and this larger creature was just as good. He appreciated it, mainly cuz he couldn't and would t go up there to do his own peice, robotic fingered weren't good to play music. Instead he was here to offer another treat. Four men walked into the tent behind Jaster, they were subtle so they were unnoticed at first. Then there was a clammed of bottle as the bartender was handed two creates. One of the men opened it and presented the man with bottles, these were Prime Whiskey. Prime was a new whiskey created on Jasters Governed Provence, Conglomerate Prime. They were gifts for the presidents guest.

Jaster only nodded to the President, he enjoyed the company of the witty politician who got herself in trouble. "Well I hope you enjoy your party madam president, I hear it will be a 'blast'," Jaster let out a small chuckle before walking away, he then turned to face Kay again, "Maybe a date with the president would be more interesting then your brother, tell James I say hello."

Jaster just walked away, into the dark like he was never there.

Kay was surprised to see [member="Ghorua the Shark"] take the stage. She smiled though and bowed her head. However she didn't move to the dance floor. Instead she just listened from the side near where she was talking to [member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"] and [member="Jed Kerkov"] . Ghorua had an amazing voice, one that she was sure would just turn some girls into puddles. Soon it'll be his turn to pass the fedora.

Jaster's comment that a date with her would be a better choice than a date with [member="James Justice"] caused her to quickly shake her head, recalling the business date auction that went horribly wrong. There was no way that she was going to subject herself to that again. She would have rebuffed but he had already disappeared. Hopefully no one had heard him.

Jed listened thoughtfully to [member="Lady Kay"]'s comments, he prepared to answer but was interrupted by [member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"], a man he knew as the once enemy, later friend of his father. I currently reside at the commission of Colonel, but don't fret, I won't wear this fancy uniform for long, you know me well enough that this is not my field of expertise, but another path to influence among the empire. Other than that, it has been the usual, working to improve my Banking Federation."

Jed grinned, "You know, speaking on the topic of 'dating', would you care to dance, miss President?" Holding out his hand for her to take, "I can promise you a little fun in spite of this humdrum event."
