Chance Encounter (Titan 27-5 Codename: "Atlas")

Wow... Healthy eater...

Kohai quickly recovered from her brief surprise, scanning the menu closely. "Well..." She pointed at some kind of wrap, "You think that looks okay?" She turned the menu... and that's when she saw it.

The dessert menu.

She snatched it back quickly, looking over the selection. She looked up at [member="Atlas"] , grinning wildly. "I'm so totally gonna eat this big one here..." She pointed to the what appeared to be a huge serving of chocolate mouse cake... at least she thought it was...

[member="Kohai Drenn"]
Atlas only got a brief glimpse of the wrap, when Kohai had snatched the menu back and sowed him something from the 'dessert' menu.
He shrugged. He had never had dessert before, so he had no reference point.

He looked back to the men at the counter. They had ordered two cups of caf and sipped from their respective cups from time to time, all the while keeping tabs on the table where Atlas and Kohai were seated.
They were safe for now, as they were surrounded by people. But sooner or later, Atlas and Kohai would have to make their move. But until then, Atlas was going to eat.

The server droid arrived and Atlas gave his obnoxious order.

Grinning, Kohai rolled her eyes at the man's elaborate order. When he was finished, she ordered her own food, "...and I cannot emphasize the cake enough!"

Letting out a sigh at the prospect of hot food, she directed her attention towards [member="Atlas"] . "So... What brings you to Nar Shaddaa?" She figured she may as well make conversation, at least until her coffee got here.

He tilted his head at her, much like a canine would.
"So this is Nar Shadda?" His voice was genuinely puzzled.
He nodded as he stored that in his brain.
"This is where I was dropped off. Can't say that I have been here before"
"What about you?" [member="Kohai Drenn"]

Despite the urgency of the situation, there was a small sense of normalcy.
Minus the two sentries seated at the counter, Atlas and Kohai could just be two people enjoying a meal on Nar Shadda.
This was something Atlas had never experienced before, he wasn't sure if he liked, or disliked it. It was just foreign to him.

Kohai nodded to [member="Atlas"] . His answer was not surprising, in hindsight, given what little she knew about his apparent memory problems. When he asked her for her own reason for coming to the smuggler's moon, she merely shrugged.

"I was hired as a temp mechanic on a ship off Coruscant. They were headed here, so I was headed here." She laughed a bit, "And it looks like I got the royal welcome, huh?" She absently rubbed the back of her head.

What she had said was completely normal and should not have been confusing at all. But Atlas, who was looking at her with a puzzled look, had not a clue what she meant [member="Kohai Drenn"]
"They weren't there to welcome you at all" He said matter of factly, confused as to why she didn't comprehend that she was attacked by thugs.
"They were criminals and you fit a statistic perfect for their vile intentions"

Kohai looked over at [member="Atlas"] for a moment. Is he serious?

She smiled at him, "Oh, umm, I know. I was being sarcastic... It was supposed to be funny..." She trailed off as her smile dropped from her face. Man... this is hard, he doesn't seem to know anything...

As he mentioned their vile intentions, she briefly shuddered. She had almost forgotten that not an hour before, he had potentially save her life, and that was assuming they were just going to kill her... Okay! Stop right there, girl! She felt the need to say something. "I should thank you... I mean... You really saved my bacon..."

Atlas nodded slowly. Everything was a learning experience for him now.
He found himself smiling, something he never did. "You're welcome, but you almost didn't need my help, you really are a good fighter." [member="Kohai Drenn"]

Their food arrived and Axle mountain of food was placed before him.
He picked up his utensils and went to work.

Me? A fighter? "I'm nothing special, really. Just caught 'em by surprise."

Staring over her own plate, Kohai watched at [member="Atlas"] ate. She had never seen anything like it... There was a strange urge to match his pace, but after a minute, she had to stop for breath.

That man is an animal...

Not even ten minutes went by before Atlas' plates were clean. He stacked the dishes and and wiped his mouth with his napkin.
Now that they had finished their meal, it was time to deal with their tail. Atlas could no longer keep her in the dark as he would need her to follow his lead without hesitation.

He met her gaze and leaned forward on the table. With a lowered voice he said "Listen very closely. There are two men behind you, do not look or they will know we are onto them. They have been following us since the alley way. I am going to get you out of here, but I need you to do what I say, when I say it. Do you understand?" [member="Kohai Drenn"]

Kohai's eyes briefly widened at the revelation, she hadn't realized they had been followed.

As quickly as it came, her indecision was gone. [member="Atlas"] obviously knew what he was doing, do to the almost uncharacteristic ease with which he instructed her.

With a nearly imperceptible nod, she demonstrated that she understood, and would listen.

He was relieved that she wasn't freaking out or fighting with him.
"We need to leave, but we cannot exit out the front."

"Do you have a ship?" [member="Kohai Drenn"]
If she didn't, it wouldn't be all that dire, they could just steal one.

Kohai shook her head. "I don't have a ship... We'll have to think of something else."

Turning her attention towards the exit, she furrowed her brow grimly. While they could definitely make it out that way. It would just prolong this game of cat and mouse that she had found herself in. She began searching for other means of escape. Maybe the kitchen? Or the fresher?

[member="Atlas"]

Atlas kept his calm demeanor. This was now a tactical situation, this was his comfort zone.
"Ok, once we get outside, we will need to steal a ship."
"Get up very slowly and head to the refresher, once you hear the fight start, run to the kitchen and exit through the back door, I'll meet you out there." [member="Kohai Drenn"]

Kohai pulled her suspenders back over her shoulders, before rewrapping her scarf. She then carefully got to her feet, walking nonchalantly to the fresher, keeping her eyes forward. With a push, she went through the swinging door, waiting for her cue.
[member="Atlas"]

She was doing great, no hesitation. She stood up from the table and moved to the fresher. The two men at the counter did exactly what Atlas though they would, they got up and made their way towards the fresher. But they would have to pass Atlas' table first.
As they got closer, the one on the right reached his hand into his jacket. Time seemed to slow. The man pulled a blaster out of his jacket and move to level it at Atlas. But it never made it that far cause Atlas gripped the table from the far corner and flung it into the two men.
The table crashed into them, Atlas used the distraction to get to his feet. He wrapped both his hands around the back of the head of the man with the blaster and drove his head downward to Atlas' knee as it drove into the man's face. He crumpled to the floor.
The second man reached for his own blaster, but immediately changed his mind when Atlas punched him in the throat. As the man grabbed his own throat, Atlas finished him off with a punch to the face.

Atlas retrieved his bag and headed for the kitchen. Hopefully, [member="Kohai Drenn"] made it outside.

When she heard the beginnings of a scuffle, Kohai immediately scrambled into the kitchen. Ducking around startled workers and droids alike, the young woman made a B line for the exit door. She came to a stop in an alley. She could only hope that [member="Atlas"] was close behind. They couldn't afford to wait too long.

Atlas ignored the curious glances from the staff in the kitchen as he walked through, making his way for the back door. They seemed to already be frazzled like someone else had just ran through the kitchen, that was a good sign.

He burst through the back door, and much to his relief, he found [member="Kohai Drenn"] unharmed, and waiting for him.
"Let's get out of here. We need to acquisition a ship"

[member="Atlas"] burst through the door, seeming no worse for wear. "Let's get out of here. We need to acquisition a ship"

Acquisition? What did he mean- Oh, right...

"So, we gotta steal one, huh?" She spoke softly as she made her way towards the street proper.

They moved through the street proper. There was no evidence of any further tails.
"Yes, we have to steal one. Unless you own one?" [member="Kohai Drenn"]

Atlas kept his eyes moving, scanning for any threats....
