Chaos Jedi Faction Differences?

Hey all, looking to maybe make a Jedi character, but there are quite a few jedi/light side factions, and I was wondering if people can give me a run down on the differences between them. Maybe things like their IC philosophy or how active they are or what not. Just looking for information if anyone wants to break it down for me. Hope that's not too dumb of a question and hope it's not a common one! Thanks!

[member=jbsdog] Welcome. Not a silly question at all!

From what I see, we have 3 main Jedi Light Side Faction players.

THE ORDER OF THE SILVER JEDI - http://starwarsrp.net/groups/239-the-order-of-the-silver-jedi/

These guys are 100% Light, with only Dark Jedi allowed if they are going to redeem themselves. They have a dedicated Silver Shadow unit for more dangerous missions, and also sects for healers, guardians, sages etc.

THE NEW JEDI ORDER / GALACTIC ALLIANCE - http://starwarsrp.net/groups/516-the-galactic-alliance/

Part of the Galactic Alliance, these are Jedi working for the Alliance and are more militaristic than others, fighting for good and not following a strict certain Jedi Code.

THE JEDI ACADEMY NETWORK - http://starwarsrp.net/groups/320-the-jedi-academy-network/

A Jedi faction striving to stay away from military developments and politics, bathing in the Light to be true defenders of the galaxy.

Edited thanks to Ignus for THE ORDER OF THE SACRED LOTUS - http://starwarsrp.net/groups/880-the-order-of-the-sacred-lotus/

I may have missed information out, and of course there are more Jedi Factions out there but these are the main players I think.

Have a look in our Faction directory to see what else you can find to see if something else suits - http://starwarsrp.net/groups/glist/2-light-side/

Have fun out there and just shout if you want any more clarifications or help.

:)

But remember, no Jedi in their Faction must use their power for acts like this....

There's also the Order of the Sacred Lotus, who strive to be truly neutral in all interactions, acting as something of a medical group that is literally just about helping people. They're not technically a Jedi only group, but they are very lightside in intention.

Additionally, there is the force-user branch of the Iron Empire: The Iron Legion.

Though not a purely "Jedi" Order, it does count many Jedi amongst its ranks. A conglomeration of many force-sensitives, they're a militaristic order that seeks to protect those of the Unknown Region.

So, if you want to try something a bit different. There's always The Iron Legion.

First off, welcome to Chaos!

I'm just going to touch on the Silver Jedi Order as a member and let Jedi from other groups speak for themselves. The Silver Order is a Jedi organization of light side and neutral members dedicated to protecting our slice of the galaxy from the Sith and other threats that may arise, which is more or less the south-east corner of the Chaos map under our sphere of influence, as represented by our silver blob. As stated above, as a group we don't often intervene in matters outside of our cloud, though some of us are more proactive or adventurous on a individual level, and you may see some of us acting alongside other groups like the Iron Empire or the Galactic Alliance in joint operations.

As far as philosophy goes, we are a light side organization but pretty lax in comparison to to Orthodox Jedi of the canon Jedi Order from the prequel movie trilogy. There's no rules against having a family or romantic interests, and you can pursue your own projects and interests. All that's really asked of our members is that you try to act decently in all your endevours as both a Jedi and just a person. We do accept Dark Jedi/Sith within our ranks, but only under the condition that they make a serious attempt at rehabilitation.

OOCily, the SJO is a faction that likes to focus on internal storylines or PvE. We try to maintain a relaxed atmosphere and steer clear of drama. We're not a faction big on initiating invasions or skirmishes against other groups, but we will always respond to attacks against us with full force.

If you have any other questions, then feel free to reach out to me, or poke your head into our faction forum to check around. I should point out that we're about to celebrate our third year anniversary as a faction, and are currently in the process on installing a new Grandmaster, [member="Sorel Crieff"].

Whatever decision you make, I hope you will enjoy your time here on Chaos all the same.

On my phone, so this'll be brief.

The Dominion has its own sect of Jedi that are looking to replicate the feel of the Jedi from the movies. Robes, codes, and working in tandem with the senate. They're all about accountability and the support of democracy. There is a tolerance for dark siders, as the Jedi and Sith work together for a greater purpose than killing one another over theology.

We're smaller than the rest, though we've got a lot of the old school Jedi looking for a more 'Old Republic' vibe.

Chiming in on OSL- The Order of the Sacred Lotus is a small faction, without hoards of NPCs or soldiers. Our focus is on providing aid and relief efforts, both as needed due to natural catastrophes and war. If you are familiar with the White Helmets operating in Syria think that plus Doctor's Without Borders and you have OSL.

We focus on an earlier version of the Jedi code that stresses *balance* rather than forbidding things like attachments.

Even though we are focused on aid and peace efforts, there is room for a wide variety of Jedi and Lightside types, from pilots to guardians and beyond. Feel free to PM me or stop by our forums [member="jbsdog"] if you have any questions :)
