Teravin's hands twitched on the controls and his fighter peeled off after wedge, a wild fanged grin covering his face behind his mask. Words didn't describe the exhilaration he felt inside. A fight over the skies of Coruscant. It wasn't the towering trees of Veradune, but it had been home all the same since his transfer to the GADF. He would defend these towering skyscrapers just as he had the spiring trees of Zorros city. Perhaps even a little better since he wasn't keen on bursting into another grand fireball.

Keeping on the Commander's tail, Terasin followed him through the turn, his tail flicking his lap as he opened up the guns. His ears lit up at the sound of blaster cannons over the howling winds. His ship rocked and rattled from the wind, but it was all part of the fun, the challenge. Even with his death looming in his memory, nothing made him feel more alive than being behind the controls of a fast fighter. "Rev 7, ready to go! Lets give 'em hell, boss!"

Inconceivable, yet here they were. Aether had deployed his internal grapple as the TIE fighter passed by, latching onto its body. His form zipped up the heavy-duty cord, reeling it back and drawing his terrifying, spider-like body toward the main fuselage of the TIE fighter. He was intent on delivering punishment to the point leader. Righteous retribution was only one of the services this 'protocol droid' could serve up. An example had to be made here after all and the squardron leader would serve just as well.

Magno boots activated, clamping onto the TIE fighter with a chilling finality and loud clang, securing his footing. Next, the Hot 'n' Heavy Compensator was deployed, the six-armed, two-legged, spider-like humanoid droid body readying the tool to tear into the cockpit. Glowing blue photoreceptors locked onto his quarry—the man inside.

Aether's photoreceptors glowed ominously as he peered into the cockpit, his voice crackling with an unsettling blend of cheer and menace. "Good evening! I hope you're ready for a smashing time. Let's see if we can 'crack' open this cockpit, shall we?"

Hands latched onto parts of the exterior, pivoting and slamming the war maul into the ship, cutting into it like a can opener. Grasping tentacles slithered out from Aether's back, emanating from just between his extra sets of arms, seeking to pry their way into the cockpit and remove the windshield of the TIE fighter to better get at the man inside.

From behind the rainy cockpit viewport, Aether looked less and less like any old droid and more like a nightmarish creature come to reap and rend SCAR's soul, bent on dragging him into the fiery pits of Chaos.

FEAR

"My old man said you were his better in a fight Fisto, but all you do is talk!"

Fisto

How much he detested that name. His grin became sour at the mention of it as Kyric dodged the lightsaber bisecting him. It made him lose focus when he approached, parrying the blade but unable to evade the telekinetic blast from the boy. He skid across the metal rooftop, then rolling into a kneel as his momentum dropped.

The young Jedi followed along hoping to plunge his sword into Rhis, though he would be disappointed when a single hand outstretched to create a small, invisible barrier to stop the attack. Creuat’s tentacles could feel the fury within Kyric, although this was not the type of emotion he was wanting to provoke. He wanted to make the Jedi prodigy resort to his anger from his fears. Have the Dark Side of the Force beckon him to use its power.

Creuat’s own will invaded the young Jedi’s, fear weighing down on him and give the Dark Jedi insight to use this against him. All enhanced by the crystal in his lightsaber.

“You think you will have the power to avenge your father and complete his work, but I can assure you your destiny lies with the Emperor!” A truthful certainty he witnessed the future from the power of the Emperor.

As was by design.

Finally, he swung his lightsaber to bat the sword away from the Nautolan and the two continued their clash. Parries, counters, and other techniques performed by the two warriors. Creuat would exercise acrobatics jumping over Kyric in different vectors to press on his aggressive attacks. His style was similar to that of Rhis, but more violent and lethal.

His intent here was to not just overwhelm Karis alone with physical prowess, but to distract him from his mind being preyed upon. The Dark Jedi could see old and new faces from Kyric’s intricate mind.

“You are weak, Kyric,” finally taking a recess from his attacks. “And soon that weakness will not only be your downfall, but also your friends especially…”

He could see the faces of two women; twins by the exact physical similarities between them. Tansu Treicolt Tansu Treicolt and Talin Treicolt Talin Treicolt .

“…cousins and…”

And there was another. Another woman whom he harbored strong feelings for. Capris Halcyon Capris Halcyon .

“…a lover.”

The Nautolan resumed his malevolent grin for the Jedi Lord to see.

“Your thoughts have betrayed them, and they will suffer for your ineptitude.”

Let the fear rise up inside Kyric and make him attune with his anger. Such raw emotions would compel him to do whatever must be done to not let his fears become true, but this would be one of many steps to begin his dark path. Just as the Emperor would have wanted, so that he could be a great asset.

Ariana Du Couteau, Senator of Empress Teta ,Jedi Padawan
Location:
Coruscant, Senate Building
Action: Speaking with Someone new and wondering what's going around in the Senate Halls
Cape

JiGZUcY.png

“Yes I am Ariana Du Couteau, Lord Tithe.” She reflexively bowed. The young Du Couteau heir was told by her father that Aerarii Tithe was a friend like no other. She had been rather dubious on what her father meant by 'like no other'.

Though when he confirmed his familiar association with her father a dark foreboding began to claw near the corners of her mind. As the man continued to explain his past within the Senate halls it confirmed him to be the former Chancellor Aerarii Tithe. Almost as if on cue the dark foreboding turned from clawed scratches into down right crashing tidal waves of evilness. Her eyes looked upward to another section of the Senate Building.

The Empire has attacked the Senate Building and there is a fight between Force Users that far exceeds anything I’ve ever felt.

She returned her stare back towards the former Chancellor, Turned traitor. Ariana though maintained a healthy skepticism of such reports and declarations. The fog of war was always a dense thing and it allowed the obfuscation of even the most obvious of truths. Or hide the most devastating of attacks

“My father often talked about the importance of appearances, that a stock’s price could be easily affected by their perception than just by their quarterly earnings. More so if the company had a charming and captivating representative on the Holo-Net. . . . and he even mentioned that the Alliance stock had risen considerably when you were Chancellor.”

Ariana took a few steps back to keep their distance, “-And now we can’t have the citizenry of Coruscant see their entire bureaucracy evacuate en masse . . . it would seem as if the entire Senate Building was toppling.”

Her eyes glanced back to the entrance when she wondered on Tithe’s question if she was alone. The power being thrown around by the Dark Side Users was quite evident even by her own meager Force senses, that alone signified that her poor Senate Guards were dead. She felt a lump form in her throat as she attempted to meet the former Chancellor’s gaze.

“My father’s wardrobe is still in the office, unfortunately I couldn’t get the Budget Committee to approve my application to move it all to Fondor.” She shrugged, Honestly they thought I was trying to move a tailor and his shop when they read my request. . . . which actually isn’t a bad idea. . . Ariana wasn’t a seasoned bureaucrat, no doubt her brother could have handled everything before lunch.

Ariana began to take a few steps closer to where Aerarii Tithe had entered from, “My father told me that there was no greater ally than Chancellor Tithe, as long as your interests coincided with his that is-" Ariana explained, she cleared her throat as her eyes turned back to the former Chancellor. She would ignore the question of her being alone for the moment.

“Are they now? Are your interest's aligned?” She asked, her cerulean eyes searching, “-If so; then out of respect and admiration for the relationship you had with my father I will escort you somewhere safe to be left alone. If not, duty to the Alliance compels me to demand your peaceful surrender. . .” Ariana offered, she wasn’t trained in the ways of business dealings, nor formally instructed in the ways of politicking.
I can only hope that most people believe that non-violence was the better part of valor.

Revenant Squadron was no joke. Rev One commanded his team like a seasoned veteran, and his squad members fell into formation without a moment of hesitation or fear. They fought for the home world of the Galactic Alliance, and they would not be bested on their own turf. Veda was impressed. But it was still early, and the skies were still full of enemy fighters. To make matters worse, every Imperial fighter they took out of the sky meant destruction below from raining debris. Nobody won in these situations. The goal was just to lose less than the other side.

Veda zoomed past a TIE fighter, so close he could hear the twin ion engines screaming as it zipped by. He pulled up and over, rolling his X-wing right side up as he made the j-shape flip to fall in line behind the enemy. There was a big difference between a space engagement and a dogfight inside the lower atmosphere of a planet like Coruscant. The gravity created a true up and down, and G-force could be restricting, if not deadly. The older X-wings could not even pull a maneuver like that, but the T-85? That was a different story. One of the benefits of contracting — he could fly his own fighter in this mess.

He took a few shots, but the TIE dodged with a quickness that only that tiny fighter could manage. The Imperial fighters had the benefit of being quick and agile, coming with the cost of weaker shields and less durability. That didn’t matter if Veda couldn’t hit the damn thing. The TIE dropped lower to the planet, hoping to lose Veda in the maze of skyscrapers and surrounding chaos. Not a chance. He stayed on its tail like an anooba on a womprat.

The buildings got tight up ahead, creating a perfect shooting gallery but a challenge for the much wider X-wing. Veda rolled his fighter vertically and followed the TIE in. Target lock. Pew, pew, pew! Three shots and the Imperial fighter exploded in a ball of fire. Veda bailed skyward to avoid crashing into the debris and leveled back out horizontally. But as he made his way up and out of the cityscape, he noticed two enemy fighters on his radar, closing in fast behind him. He kicked his thrusters up a notch and headed toward the Revenant formation.

Kyric's grip tightened on the hilt of his blade. It raged violently against the invisible forces that held the kiffar's killing intent away from the nautolan. Grinding his teeth together in frustration, the boy could do nothing to stop Creuat's invasion of his psyche.

"You think you will have the power to avenge your father and complete his work, but I can assure you your destiny lies with the Emperor!"

The images that came to Kyric at the mention of his father dredged up others–their family. By the end of the late Sword's grueling war on the Dark Side, all Ryv truly had to show for it was a found family who sought to carry on his ideals.

And those gleaming stars were why Kyric fought on.

Talin and Tansu's grinning, almost reverential faces, forced Kyric back onto his feet a hundred times over in his youth. Auteme's wisdom and mastery of the Force kept Kyric's shattered psyche together following his father's death, and it's since held it together as the boy struggled fruitlessly to rebuild himself. Other faces came to mind, each the pinnacle of one virtue or another. Their very memory worked to soothe the flames of rage stoked by the fallen Jedi's mockery.

Until she appeared.

Her lungs constricted like a popped ballon, chest heaving against the bodice of her dress in some bid to regain composure. All at once, her gaze frosted over and Capris genuinely seemed afraid.

The memory replayed in Kyric's head over and over again. Broken up by the image of himself driving a crimson saber impassionately into the chest of a man the Jedi couldn't even begin to recall.

Your destiny lies with the Emperor!

Creuat's saber smashed Kyric's blade away in the instant the nautolan's words sank in. Your destiny lies with the Emperor! Kyric carried his blade into a high guard to avoid an immediate decapitation, swept the weapon down to divert dismemberment, and once more dragged the weapon skyward in a hurried counter-attack that clashed harmlessly against the Dark Jedi's flying guard. Your destiny lies with the Emperor! Turning swiftly, the kiffar sliced for his opponent's legs as he returned to the floor, only to watch on in shock as Creuat barrel rolled mid-air to avoid the blow entirely.

Kyric's breathing had become ragged at some point in the exchange, so he silently thanked the Force for the reprieve and wiped away a thin layer of sweat from his forehead.

Rhis fought with the intensity of Maynard Treicolt Maynard Treicolt in his heyday, before the mantle of husband and father eased the concordian's temperament. Rare glimpses of the Wolf peeked through in some of Maynard and Kyric's more intensive training sessions. And in those moments, the kiffar counted himself lucky to be numbered among Maynard's kin.

The boy found no such fortune on Coruscant.

"You are weak, Kyric. And soon that weakness will not only be your downfall but also your friends..." The twins flashed within the boy's mind again. "Your cousins." The Jedi's eyes narrowed dangerously at the mention of them. Crimson ran in tiny rivulets from where songsteel bit into the boy's palm.

She came to him again, carried by a wave of intense fear that settled like a mantle on Kyric's shoulders. He couldn't beat Creuat. No amount of willpower or raw determination could close the incredible gulf in their skills. His failure would be the death of not only his most treasured charge, the twins, but als-

"…a lover."

Kyric lifted the single-edged katana to rest level with his head. He turned to the side, right foot sliding back until his feet were shoulder-width apart, and sunk into a balanced stance, his weapon poised for another fatal slash across any of the lethal zones described in the Jedi Archives. He couldn't be sure if he loved Capris Halcyon. He couldn't be sure if he even liked her. But in recent memory, when the boy dreamed of distant times and brighter days, she had taken a place at his side, overlooking rolling hills of emerald grass and gilded sunflowers.

Creuat had successfully seeded fear into the boy's heart, and already Kyric could feel it spreading within his chest. It rooted itself in his insecurities, his shortcomings, and his greatest failures. Each of his defeats flashed before his eyes like a collage of every reason he should've put his sword down and run away. But he couldn't do that anymore. He promised Inosuke Ashina Inosuke Ashina he would be better.

"Your thoughts have betrayed them, and they will suffer for your ineptitude."

"We'll die here together before I let you touch any of them!" Kyric's body blurred again, this time passing around Rhis' left side. He slid to a sudden halt and turned, driving his sword across the nautolan's body in a violent attempt to cleave the Dark Jedi in twain.

WICKED ONES

- EXITED CHAPTER TWO, ENTERED CHAPTER ONE -

Huh.

Not only were these Alliance dogs cowards for leaving the common people to their own lot, they were impervious too it seems. Either that, or their TIEs' lasers were all faulty. Though the ripped up steps begged to differ. Were the beings outside some kind of new experiment by Alliance scientists that the Bureau didn't know about?

It was troubling if that was the case.

Dara sighed. That was going to be one helluva report when this was done with. She hated admin. That was one subject she didn't do exceptionally well in. And Soontir Barvel Soontir Barvel didn't let her forget it either. She chewed her lip. She'd get Eiric Ardos Eiric Ardos to help her with that chore later.

"Shadow Squadron, tighten formation,"
Dara scowled before inching her TIE close to the left behind him.
<Cuddling up, Sir.> she quipped as the great Senate Building came into view.

For the longest time, that place stood as a bastion of the Alliance. Dara still marveled at how quickly they abandoned it at the mere thought that the Empire would show up. Saving their own rich hides instead of doing more for the people below them. This is why she was Imperial. Democrats were all selfish - rather filling their own pockets and saving their own skin than looking out for the people. Her mother was a Kandaran. She had lived under Alliance rule for a long time before she met Dara's father. The way she had spoken about it before she died, made the pilot very glad that she never grew up there. The Alliance made no difference to it.

"Prepare to engage,"

Dara had just chosen to tackle Pal Veda Pal Veda 's X-Wing when she caught sight of something dragging behind SCAR's TIE.
<Shadow Leader, you have a bogey hanging on by cable. Looks like a droid inching up. Can you shake it or do you need help?> she asked him.

Aether of the Iron Order Aether of the Iron Order was inching closer to his viewport, but the speed with which they moved, the G-force would hamper even some strange droid from getting where he wanted to be immediately. It would have snapped an organic, after all. Her fingers hovered over the buttons to send it to the scrapyard in a matchbox on her CO's order.

She just hoped the boys stayed on target at least and that Electra-12 Electra-12 would rejoin them again soon.

They'll need the entire squadron by the looks of it.

Sahar|Galactic senate|Coruscant
Sahar stepped forward, cautiously walking through the chambers with her lightsaber light, looking for any soul stupid enough to get in her way. The halls, however, were suspiciously empty and quiet, save for the thrum of battle outside and the distant sound of lightsaber duels. But something drew closer with, drawing intently closer with each thundering step, blindsiding the knight from the left-hand side as the colour of green came crashing overhead as she caught the saber with hers pushing the attacker back.

0quaZLL.png

A challenger arose.

She stepped back, mockingly giving a bow to the newcomer applauding her audacity and bravery to do what Sahar was known for doing and striking first.

"How eloquent of you Jedi."

Sahar stormed forward with strikes of her own, heavy and brutal swinging from multiple angles and striking as one might cut down a tree before she pulled her saber and struck the pillar opposite of them trying to send sparks in the Jedi's eyes.

DARK EMPIRE
CORUSCANT, CORE WORLDS

qXu9Rp6.png
While Imperial and Alliance Fleets clashed throughout the skies of Coruscant, one Fleet in particular stood out, having so far remained out of the main zone of combat, currently hovering above the border between the Senate District and the Entertainment District, currently overlooking both the Senate Building and the Chancellors Office as per the orders of Grand Admiral Sularen issued as Imperial Forces broke through the Planetary Shields. In command of this fleet was the Imperial Veteran, Fleet Admiral Kaine Hamilton, who had served under Grand Admiral since the early days of the Second Great Hyperspace War during the days of the Final Dawn.

As he stood onboard the bridge of his flagship, the INV Purifier, watching as Imperial and Alliance Ships fought each other in the distance, Admiral Hamilton pondered why the Grand Admiral had kept him out of the fight, during the Second Great Hyperspace War, Hamilton had proven himself as a capable naval commander multiple times but now, here on Coruscant during one of the Empire's largest military operations to date he had been ordered to move his fleet to the edge of the Entertainment District bordering the Senate District with his Fleet having a perfect view of the Senate District in front of him. He had no idea why the Grand Admiral had ordered him there but had assumed that he was keeping his fleet in reserve for a major offensive against the Alliance Fleet, once they had fully revealed all their cards while confronting Task Force Vader.

While it was not Hamilton's place to question the orders given to him by his superiors he still felt that he was missing something, as if the Grand Admiral was keeping him in the dark. But for now, as the Grand Admiral fought the Fleet of House Mecetti and the Alliance's 10th Sector Armada, Hamilton would have to wait and see what the Grand Admiral was cooking. Knowing Sularen, it would most certainly be something grandiose, something that would most certainly change the tides in favor of the Empire permanently and ensure an Imperial Victory here on Coruscant.

SWORD OF THE JEDI

BHj7K1e.png

CRACK.

Bernard's arm twisted unnaturally as his shoulder shot forward. Something hard and heavy had struck him. He felt his lightsaber slip from his hand. It flew across the room, beyond the open doorway. The snap-hiss of another lightsaber sounded from behind the same second.

Without missing a beat, he dove forward, using the momentum from the attack that struck him to roll through the glass-strewn carpeting and towards the door. Shards of glass pierced his skin, mixing with the pain of what he suspected to be a broken arm. At the tail end of his roll, his form broke down and his feet crashed unceremoniously against the floor with a loud thud.

Adrenaline rushed through his system as the pain exploded through his nerves, a searing sting running from hand to shoulder and a dull pain spreading through his legs.

He'd been ambushed, caught completely unaware. He shot up into a crouch, supporting himself with his good arm while the injured one hung limp at his right side. His eyes locked onto the silhouette illuminated by a crimson blade that pierced the air where he'd stood a heartbeat ago.

A colossal suit of armor faced him down. The only indication of a living being inside was the skull silently laughing at him through the helmet's viewport. Purple mist swirled around the black bones, whose glowing eyes fixed Bernard's with malice. The Arkanian's stare mixed indignation and obsession as instinct took control at the behest of injured pride.

Bernard shot his good arm toward the suit, bringing the Force to bear with sharp intensity. His mind processed only a single thought crush. An invisible grip reached out toward the armor, attempting to enclose it in a crushing press borne of the Force.

Sharp, heavy exhales turned to fleeting, misty clouds in the room's sudden cold. Every fiber in his being that suffered the pain of his injuries made the vision clearer. In his mind, the armor crumpled like a piece of paper between the fingers of a fist, spilling whatever it held in an explosion of mist and blood.

He'd been ambushed. Caught completely unaware.

The Aegis was soon joined by the three vessels Lossa had hoped would arrive sooner. The Hilltop at the center of the formation flanked by the Deliverance to port and the Keeper to starboard.

The codes and IFF challenged as systems aboard each ship were adjusted to coordinate with the Support Group, finding the connection unavailable currently as the onboard Queen A.I. Discipline attempted contact. Weapons systems that had been charged prior to their departure began searching for targets of opportunity, at first fixing themselves on the Aegis and causing a few alarms to sound as a standoff began to form. When the old orders from the Ballarat were shared after contact with the Aegis was established, the weapons systems ceased their target lock and began to defensively sweep the area as all four vessels began to plot their course to join the Support Fleet. Finding the group to have already moved to the interior of the deployment zone.

The A.I. Discipline tied into the ship's systems formed its holographic body besides the Captain in command of the Hilltop. Eagerly sharing what it had learned in the short span of time as the man frowned with the news. A resigned sigh passed his lips as he called for the opening of a communications channel. The main body of the support fleet scrambled to establish the secured line on their end to the freshly arrived vessels.

The Ballarat had allowed direct control of the Droid Starfighter swarm to the carrier vessels housing them. Transmitting orders to be crew's across the carrier's ship captains but lacking direct access itself. The direct command from Ballarat did make the entire swarm of Droids pause. Their pattern of patrol became still for the scant few seconds it took for the collective to process the strange breach of protocol.

The Duchess and Lightning had been the assigned control points for the Droid Starfighters, which had remained their central collective core processing systems. The deviation giving them pause was receiving such an illogical order from Ballarat. Their current objective to provide cover for the Evacuation Group was the order that overrode any direct order. The gathered processing systems aboard the Droid Starfighters challenged the order through each of the two core processing systems before making a direct query to the Duchess and Lightning for clarification. The question of the order being transmitted to both vessels as the captains of each opened a line between them at the sudden order.

The transmitted order was isolated, and found to fall under the Emergency Protocol that their commander had instructed them to be mindful of. Their final joint decision was made given how self-destructive the order was to the success of their operation.

Having already been under suspicion of interference with the Ballarat with the prior dispatch, the ship was summarily removed from the collective information network the Evacuation Support Group had created. It's ties to the network isolated, removed, scrubbed, and quarantined by the other vessels as they dumped their network codes and switched to the backups. A task that took considerably less time given their preparation beforehand as part of the Liminal Protocol practice they had done before deployment.

A new communication line opened and passed to every vessel on a different channel than the Ballarat. With the Duchess taking temporary control of the situation, waiting for the Hilltop to be tied in.

<All Vessels, this is a joint emergency command from the Duchess and Lightning. You are to assume that Ballarat had been compromised. The Duchess will filter all communications while we bring the Hilltop online for further operation command.> Captain Brenson of the Dutchess instructed as the other vessels followed suit, tying their systems into the new network, allowing the officers a moment to breathe as the Hilltop was brought into the new system. The A.I. streamlining the process

Tertiary systems were shut down and brought back online to insure separation from the Ballarat. Clear warnings were sent to both the Mecetti and Alliance 10th fleets about the possible intrusion of an enemy aboard the Ballarat. With instructions to cease communications with the Ballarat twice sent as the Hilltop and its Queen A.I. assumed direct control of operations as the tactical display updated itself. The artificial intelligence further streamlining the process with the organic operators as it began to check their lines and pass them through the further security measures. All four vessels began to wade through the fighting above to rendezvous with their counterparts below.

The weapons aboard the Hilltop began tracking Ballarat’s projected course. Data from the surrounding vessels flooded the systems, filtered by the computers and giving clear firing solutions as gunners adjusted to fully track the ship with predictive solutions in case it began to deviate. The communication line once again opened as Captain Kalfyr spoke with authority.

<This is the Hilltop assuming command and control of this operation. All vessels are to assume that Ballarat is compromised and potentially hostile. Sledgehammer Corvettes are to begin firing upon the Ballarat with Ion Cannons immediately. Failure to comply will elicit a compromised status, with compromised vessels to be disabled alongside the Ballarat.> Kalfyr spoke with no doubt in his voice. The order passed directly to each of the Support Group vessels as the Hilltop moved behind the Aegis to further protect the Keeper and Deliverance from incoming fire as it covered their approach vector.

The comm line was suddenly silent aside from the lingering static. Each crewmember tied in to the newly secured communication line glancing to one another at the gravity of what was about to happen settled in.

The ion gunners aboard the Defiant, Cutter, Talon, and Jackal, were still for only a moment before the dual barreled weapon systems began to turn and target lock the Ballarat. A silent string of curses from each gunner passing their lips in different dialects as the switches flipped and triggers squeezed. 4 ion cannons began to open up on the former command vessel. The first shots glistened across the shields as the Ballarat absorbed the initial bout of incoming fire, feeding back into the shield systems.

The Hilltop opened a communication channel to the Aegis directly. The Captain cleared his throat as he prepared to direct their efforts to keep the Ballarat from simply plummeting to the surface.

<Aegis, this is Hilltop. We will be using our repuslor-tractor systems to keep the Ballarat from falling to the city below in case the engines are completely disabled. We will be slowed by the added mass, and require your attention in case of enemy movements against us. Deploy starfighter squadrons in preparation for our enemies to capitalize on this.> Kalfyr informed the Cruiser before receiving an affirmation of the request. His hand shifted to his chin as he contemplated how to secure the former command vessel further without sacrificing the lives on board. Disabling the weapons would leave the crew subject to the enemy, especially while relying on the Hilltop to potentially navigate and maneuver being subject to the drag.

“Discipline.” voice gruff as he tried to come to a conclusion about how to move forward. The holographic form of the shipbound A.I. appeared once more, remaining little more than a blue semi-transparent face beside his.

“I am present, Captain Kalfyr. What do you require?”

“Need to figure out how to secure Ballarat. You got any ideas?” Kalfyr glanced at the face as it tilted slightly, mimicking the organic posture of turning their head as if in serious thought. Running calculations and thought weren't so different in his eyes, but it made him uncomfortable with how quickly the artificial intelligence had adopted the mannerism.

“I will place it as a secondary priority, Captain Kalfyr. I have no immediate solution. Is that all you require?” The A.I. informed him, earning it a sideways glance as he frowned and clicked his tongue in thought.

“This is a right fucking mess. Dismissed.” He sighed, letting his hands fall before scratching his neck and glancing out of the viewport. The holographic face disappeared as he addressed the helmsman. “Priddy better be careful about- Bah never mind. All ahead full and let's get these damned ships to the ground. Begin firing on Ballarat to disable without destroying it once we attain a sub point five chance of error. Order the Wallflower, Dainty and Valorous to rejoin the main body.”

The new additions to the support fleet burned hard for the surface, ignoring the conflict between Mecetti and the enemy as their shields were adjusted and the hulls burned with their descent.

The Command Bridge of the Ballarat was silent and apprehensive as the spirit continued to speak. Lossa allowed her hand to shift away from Zaiya to observe as colors danced across the girl's skin. She would have allowed herself a moment to ponder the odd display if they had been in a less tense situation. Something else to remember for later as her hand extended towards her chair, using the Force to pull her helmet from its resting place to her hand. Fingers biting into the metal as the structure of the helmet groaned beneath her grip. An awkward pressing wiggle had it situated on her head in time to catch the words directed to Denn.

The feelings from Zaiya would be short-lived, as the Zeltron narrowed her eyes behind the visor and glanced to the corner of her visor-screen to see the recording function still active.

Having intended to review the footage later with Captain Kalfyr on what she needed to work, it instead served as its own blackbox for what was taking place on the bridge. Onrai directed her words to the attempt of bargaining and the phrasing drew a frown from Lossa. Discarding the sentiment of the jedi as the crew's attention shifted from the sight before them to a singular collective interest at their stations. A one way message of warning, sent to their systems from the Hilltop. The coding scrambled beyond access as the message blinked on their screens.

Liminal Protocol.

Attempts to access the communications network were met with static filled silence as the crews scrambled to contact their allies in some way. Frantic energy took hold as officers directed their staff to internal communications aboard the ship warning of imminent danger. The first strikes against the shields being absorbed as systems across the ship began to flicker but remain operational.

Gunners abandoning their post as they received an alert about the Liminal Protocol and debating on heading for the escape pods.

Lossa let her hand settle back on Zaiya's shoulder in time to be squeezed as Onrai waved her hand. Imprinting memories and information into her mind directly as she cried out at the intrusion. The manufactured calm she had kept about her was swiftly overtaken by the disturbing imagery that flooded her mind. Her subconscious now awakened fully as she began to mentally retreat from Onrai. Desperate to shut everything out. Unable to as it came racing in and breaking her mental barriers as an all encompassing tsunami would break upon a village made of sticks and straw.

The dark side swelled around Lossa, rising to meet the invasion of her mind as emotions bubbled and broke against the intrusion. The swell quickly swallowed and extinguished as more images and memories rushed in making the hasty defense ineffectual. The coral colored hand snatched back and clutched tight against her head as the yelp of pain shifted to a solid and unending scream. Barely muffled by the speakers inside the helmet she had put on before cutting out entirely at the sheer volume. Her whole body curled into itself as she tried to step back and away from the source of the information.

Adrenaline flooded her body to prepare itself, every muscle tightening as her body danced between fight or flight at the memories she was made to visualize and bear witness to. The OmniLink Sensor warning flared in the corner of her visor at the significant rise in cortisol levels, desperate to make her aware and calm down.

Fear was the first emotion to flood her system. Chased quickly by adrenaline as her body became rigid beneath the robe and armor. Like a boiling tar that surrounded her senses and drug her mind down into itself. Her body reacting to the sensory feeling of being held in place with a vicious slash of the Force surrounding her legs. Gouges in the floor panels around her feet as the metal was peeled free and sent flying in her hysteria. Whistling through the air with enough energy to embed the coiled metal into the viewport and back wall of the bridge. The flashing warning from the Omnilink became a solid image as it connected to the HoloNet, sending a medical alert to Briana Sal-Soren Briana Sal-Soren .

Her mind tried to flee into the beckoning dark of itself to escape the information overload. Met by her mirror as it pushed her back from retreating too far and pushed past her.

In the passing seconds, the next feeling to bloom was pain. A rolling tide of tightness in her core that spread across her abdomen as her steps faltered. Feeling sick and entirely confused if the pain or the memories were the true cause. The shrill scream short lived as the rolling pain stole the air from her lungs. Choking and sputtering inside her helmet as she tried to fight the bile that crept up from her stomach.

One of the deck officers dropped their datapad as they looked to their commander. Surprising others around them as he slid across the top of the console before breaking into a sprint toward Lossa.

The surrounding staff hollered in surprise or scrambled to help as the Zeltron's foot caught the lip of the gouge she had made.

( Romi Jade Romi Jade Darth Solipsis Darth Solipsis ) An illusory image peeled itself away from her form as she fell backward. A crewman diving to catch her body. The figure was short enough in stature that even Zaiya could look down upon it. Eyes alight with unfiltered malice as two small arms formed from the air. Skin a sickly pale coral beneath a loose hospital gown. Gaunt, drawn skin surrounded bright Ruby eyes which fixed themselves on Onrai. A deep rooted rage that ill fit the small being rolled in waves across the bridge as it stared at the self-proclaimed god. A rage that burned like a dying star, eager to devour everything surrounding it before it imploded. A cup overflowing with the primordial, burning hatred and bitterness that had found its focus as its mouth opened to address Onrai.

“Get out of my head.” Bare feet formed from nothing as the childlike figure took another step forward past Zaiya. “And go. Away!

Untitled980-20240604010403.png

The last word roared at the being as the living force seemed to twist and tear around the small figure. Where once it flowed freely, it now was drawn into the figure like an empty vessel. Consuming. Hungry. Vengeful. Stoking the burning star of Wrath within that small form.

"DUCHESS"
"Revenant Twelve"
Revenant Squadron
Flight Officer Reima Vitalis
10th Sector Armada
Piloting: Jet-Black X-Wing

"Lock S-foils in attack position," Reima ordered Bartoo, her clipped voice measured but urgent. "Route power to shields."

:// ORDER ACKNOWLEDGMENT: AFFIRMATIVE, FLIGHT OFFICER.
:// SCANNER READOUT UPDATED: MORE ENEMY CRAFT IN SECTOR SEVEN.

Reima examined her inertial compensator setting. "And Bartoo: set inertial compensation to ninety-five percent."

:// INFORMATION: RECOMMENDED MINIMUM INERTIAL COMPENSATION RATING IS NINETY-SEVEN PERCENT.

"Override," Reima snapped waspishly as she adjusted her speed.

:// ORDER ACKNOWLEDGMENT: RECOMMENDED MINIMUM INERTIAL COMPENSATION OVERIDE CONFIRMED.
:// SYSTEM UPDATE: INERTIAL COMPENSATION RATING NINETY-FIVE PERCENT.

Reima's jaw dropped when Wedge Draav Wedge Draav executed his J-maneuver. She could almost feel the stress of gravity on the man's bones, on the structure of his X-wing. These ships were designed for space flight; they were serviceable in atmosphere -- and a damned sight better than any Twin Ion Engine design fighter in atmosphere -- but they had to be aware of the atmosphere and its challenges. Still, orders were orders, and Reima was no slouch when it came to maneuvering. She had a decade and a half of high-speed podracing under her belt and the reflexes to match, but she wanted to feel it. Instruments only went so far; Reima Vitalis needed her isntincts, too.

She followed Revenant One in the maneuver, shifting to take a wingman's position. The pressure flattened the slight aristocrat into her seat, the crash webbing going slack for a moment. Her stomach lurched as the fighter shot up over the skyline and then down in pursuit of the TIEs, and when she came out of it, she keyed the squadron channel: "Watch those Gs, Revenant Squadron," Reima called into the channel. Inertial dampeners were one thing, but the craft itself would handle slightly different in a full-grav environment than they would in space.

She didn't know the details of the history between this self-proclaimed Crimson Baron and Captain Draav, but she could tell this dance was personal. Fingers manipulating the controls, her craft spat hot light at Wilhelm Vonreg Wilhelm Vonreg alongside Wedge. She didn't expect to hit the TIE at her angle, but her aim was to deprive the pilot of room to maneuver and thereby increase Captain Draav's chances of a hit. And besides, there were other TIEs in that formation, too -- there were plenty of lasers to go around.

BB-10R2 shrieked a warning about the lightning as they were buffeted by a gust of the growing storm.

:// WARNING: LIGHTNING STORM APPROACHING!!!

"I see it," Reima said through gritted teeth. "Nothing I can do about it but hope it doesn't hit one of us and hits one of them instead." The droid made a raspberry noise; she didn't need to consult a readout to understand that. "I don't control the weather, Bartoo!" Reima said, exasperated.

Chapter One : Eclipse

DARK EMPIRE
CORUSCANT, CORE WORLDS

qXu9Rp6.png
While the Grand Admiral remained focused on the battle between his fleet and his Alliance counterparts, Colonel Rackham still standing on his side found himself receiving a call from one of the Predator's smaller side hangars on his commlink soon taking it out and answering it. "This is Colonel Rackham, speaking." the Colonel answered. At the other side an officer could be heard panting as if he were exhausted. "Sir! We've been boarded by enemy assailants." the officer said while still trying to catch his breath. "Enemy assailants?" Rackham inquired. "Yes, two enemy starfighters entered Hangar 15 and started blowing things up, half of my men are dead already and half of those who remain are already injured." the officer replied.

Rackham then turned to one of the crew pits before addressing to the Senior Security Officer. "Get me a visual on Hangar 15." he ordered. As the Senior Security Officer scrambled to link the bridge's holographic display to the cameras of Hangar 15, Sularen looked at his subordinate having now caught attention of the situation. "What's going on, Colonel?" the Grand Admiral inquired. "It would appear we have a breach on Hangar 15." Rackham answered just as an live holo feed of hangar 15 from one of the security cameras appeared in front of both the Grand Admiral and the Colonel revealing a shocking scene. The entire hangar was in flames with TIEs in ruins and dozens of troopers either dead or injured. Meanwhile resting against one of the walls were two starfighters that had forced themselves into the Hangar and which were most likely responsible for the chaos.

"What the heck happened" Sularen said, clearly caught off-guard by this sudden move, having not expected anyone to make an attempt to board his ship. However Rackham didn't need to answer as both the Grand Admiral and the Colonel soon spotted a lightsaber being activated by someone emerging from one of the starfighters. "Jedi" Sularen muttered. "Sound we-" Rackham was immediately cut off before he could complete his question as Sularen quickly grasped the situation he was facing. A pair of Jedi had boarded his ship and would mostly attempt to sabotage it. While having not anticipated such a move, the INV Predator was fortunately equipped to deal with such intrusions in short measure, and the Grand Admiral would make sure that the Jedi wouldn't make it that far.

"Lockdown the entire ship and secure all key compartments of the vessel. Engines, Reactors, Gravity Wells, Weapons Control Center and the Bridge." Sularen ordered. "Send in two squads of Marines to reinforce Hangar 15, and instruct Operatives E-196 and Darkstar to prepare their units of SpecNav Commandos and remain on stand-by for further orders." Sularen added. He was going to make sure that this would be the last ship these Jedi would board and that by the end of this battle he would return to Kampe with them in chains. "Oh, and one more thing, Colonel." Sularen said, right as Colonel Rackham began relaying the Grand Admiral's instructions to throughout the INV Predator. "I want all Dark Troopers to be activated and on stand-by for deployment." he ordered.

As such, emergency alarms would go off throughout the INV Predator as it entered in a state of lockdown in response to the Jedi intrusion. With various units being redirected and activated in preparation for the confrontation with the Jedi, and various additional security measures in place to hamper their progress, they would have to move quickly if they were to reach the Grand Admiral on the bridge before the full might of the Predator's Security Force came crashing down on them.

  • Grand Admiral Sularen is made aware of the Jedi incursion within his flagship, which is in turn placed in a state of lockdown
  • Multiple units of Imperial Marines and SpecNav Commandos are redirected to reinforce and secure key components of the INV Predator such as the engines, reactors, gravity wells, weapons control center and the bridge itself.
  • Two Squads (For a total of 20 men) of Imperial Marines are sent to Hangar 15 to contain the Jedi incursion
  • Castor E-196 and Abraxas Colt are instructed to prepare their Squads of SpecNav Commandos (They each command one Squad of SpecNav Commands) and are placed on stand-by.
  • All Dark Troopers within the INV Predator are activated and placed on stand-by for future deployment

The Epo-1 breached the hangar hot. Jasper threw the starfighter left so that when it hit the ground it began to spin while it skid. Sparks flew as it made contact with the ground, reducing the durasteel shell to scrap and throwing debris everywhere. He held down the trigger on the laser cannons, lighting up the hangar with high-powered rounds that destroyed indiscriminately, tearing through unarmored equipment and starfighters not yet prepped for lauch, lacking their shielding. This spinning would last for a few moments before the Epo-1 collided with a wall at the end of the hangar, coming to a stop.

"Alright," Jasper groaned, shaking off the pain of the impact. "Now the fun begins."

As the Epo-1 came to a halt, Braze was quick to disembark. With acrobatic grace, he flicked on his lightsaber, the hum of the blade resonating with his heightened adrenaline as he flourished it in a defensive manuver. He moved to guard Jasper's flank, ready to defend and bring up the rear. His eyes darted around, scanning for any immediate threats. He was poised, every muscle in his body tense with the thrill of the impending battle. The hangar was a scene of chaos, debris scattered everywhere, and unprepared enemies scrambling to respond.

Klaxons wailed and emergency lights flashed. A vortex of movement as the marines and stormtroopers stationed on the Predator reacted to the intrusion, thundering down the halls in armour of slate and onyx.

The noise washed over Castor, and he blinked. Same as it ever was.

The chaos of war has been his only constant for two decades- after SCAR was disbanded, he'd been adrift again, following the currents and tides of this or that Admiral. Even as the Empire collapsed, Castor remained dutiful, following orders. A hole remained in him- a strange hole he found uncomfortable to confront, though he knew it to be created by the brotherhood of SCAR.

No, it formed when that brotherhood was dispersed.

War became routine- even as the battlfields moved, enemies changed, from Alliance and Sith to other Imperials. When the friendlies could flip on a dime as the Empire collapsed, and the bulk of the Navy fled into the Deep Core to make common cause with the Maw. All the while, Castor 'eliminated' and 'operated' as instructed. His body and mind felt... automatic. Easy. This was what he'd been created to do.

So why did he feel... uneasy?

"Send in two squads of Marines to reinforce Hangar 15, and instruct Operatives E-196 and Darkstar to prepare their units of SpecNav Commandos and remain on stand-by for further orders."

The comm bead beeped instructions into his inner ear, and the giant of a man, ELITE progeny of SILVERLIGHT, stood up and secured his helmet. The visor booted to life- life signals of his squad of 10 SpecNav Commandos flashing around him in the ready room.

"Squad, we are on high alert. Check weapons and vac-seals. Hostiles identified as Jedi Knights. Ready secondary loadout B-5," he rattled off into the radio. The squad, the most devoted and ruthless sons and daughters of the Dark Empire, were already on the move. Anti-Jedi YHC-01x Ysalamiri Cradles, Zero-G-optimised Repulsor Grenades, and Plasma Detonators for good measure.

"Close-quarters, boss?" Always the slight sneer in that title. The squad never fully respected him- a strange, floating piece of living driftwood of a dead Empire, though they trusted his skills as a veteran of a previous era. A relic, almost. The Squad 2-IC checked the sights on her IG-16 Blaster Carbine for close quarters combat, while the others adjusted the apertures of their AK-57x Charric Rifles for maximum punch against lightsabers.

Castor, however, had his usual preference, reaching over to the weapon rack.

"You know it." He pumped the Combat Shotgun, feeling its comforting weight. It was no Doombringer, but it would do. Either way, Castor took some comfort and focus on the task at hand. After all, it was the same old usual.

Killing Jedi.

Kol's eyes widened as he read the communications coming across his signals screen, and then elements of the evacuation escort began firing upon the ship that had previously seemed to be in charge.

"What the Force is going on, here," he asked the air, as though it might have an answer for him.

Had someone sliced a whole-ass Capital ship?

That didn't bode well. It also seemed pretty much impossible. Surely the officers and crew would throw manual overrides as needed, reset systems, purge illicit code?

Maybe the ship had been physically taken over... but that didn't seem likely, either. He hadn't seen anything board the vessel.

But he didn't have enough context for what was going on to do more than stare in startled bewilderment as the chaotic scene descended through the upper atmosphere. Bad enough the enemy wanted to take out the evacuee convoy. Now they were doing it for them.

Efforts seemed to be underway to prevent the Bellarat from crashing once she was disabled, at least.

"Kitty, when we get out of this, I'm getting you a tractor-beam emitter."

The ship flew on, indifferent to the promise as Kol's eyes scanned the horizon and glanced at the sensor scope.

This was the sort of moment when all hell tended to break loose.

His appeal to the entity did not work. And then Denn's understanding of what was happening around him quickly eroded.

The ship was under attack, and there seemed to be confusion among the officers and crew. Was that what this self-proclaimed God or Goddess had intended for him to understand?

The words hadn't seemed to refer to something so mundane as a traditional assault.

As the ship shuddered from impacts in every direction, it seemed to Denn that they were completely surrounded. Had the escort failed?

But before he could think overlong on such things, he felt a horrible tumult rise within his host, inspired by a flood of images pouring forth from the God. Eldritch horrors. Shadows of the imagination. Creatures beyond description. Visions beyond fear.

Denn had seen glimpses of such things, before. He'd faced entities that devoured Jedi, consuming them in both body and soul. Creatures that took root in dark Earth, with minds steeped in chaos and terror. This was worse. Deeper. Like a glimpse into a whole dimension of insanity. He took a breath, steadying himself against it all.

Then there was a new eruption. A dark-side manifestation? It seemed like a child, but it did not exude a child's light.

There were processes and powers at work here that he did not understand. A deep well of the Dark Side.

But he did understand one thing: A fellow member of the order was in terrible emotional distress.

Denn held out a hand, and reached out with the Force.

He tried to form an Empathic connection. To exude calm reassurance and comfort. He was more gifted with animals and plants than with people, but he put his entire being into this outreach hoping it would be enough. As he reached out, he chanted a familiar mantra:

"There is no emotion, there is peace. There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity. There is no chaos, there is harmony. There is no death, there is the Force."

Vianca Mecetti grasped a console to keep herself from being tossed about as the Banshee took another hit.

"Report!"

The Captain of the banshee spoke up, "Your plan to spread damage by rotating our covering ships and angling shields is working well. The Corvette Wolf has taken the worst of it, but is still operational. And it seems to be the starch has been taken out of the enemy fleet. They seemed hell-bent on brawling at close range, but now their advance has faltered. We're still pummeling them with everything we've got. It's unclear what impact we're having."

"Keep it up," Vianca ordered.

"Sir!" the Signals officer spoke up, "The Evacuee fleet has somehow lost its leader. They say the lead ship is compromised, and they're trying to shoot it down. They are changing communication protocols. Might be a slicing attack of some kind, Captain."

The Captain seemed poised to repeat the information, but Vianca held up her hand, "I heard it. We have over two-hundred-and-fifty starfighters with the Evacuees. Have a squadron target the lead ship's engines, but avoid the repulsors. If that thing crashes, we want it to be able to make a soft landing."

Her orders were quickly relayed, and the battle raged on...

TL;DR -
The Mecetti starfighters try to disable the turncoat Evacuee lead ship's engines.
The Mecetti fleet continues to attack Sularen's forces with assault missiles and turbolasers.
The Mecetti fleet continues to rotate screening vessels to spread out the damage incurred.

As Braze lept out and immediately assumed a defensive role, Jasper made his way out and to an emergency compartment on the starfighter, retrieving a pair of mechanic's wenches. Typically they were for holding the vessel together in a pinch, but that ship had sailed. The Jedi Knight had other plans. He slipped his mask on and drew his lightsaber, deflecting incoming blaster bolts.

"Masks on, kid," Jasper ordered. "Move to the hangar's control pannel. We don't have much time before reinforcements arrive."

A maintenance override was what he was looking for. A scomp link would do, anything to give him some temporary control over the facilities in the hangar. Jasper would usher them towards the primary terminal, scrambling to untangle the wenches.

"Cover me. I'm tying us in," he stated. "Just... don't panic and look for something to grab hold of when the big wave of troopers get through those blast doors."

The knight meticulously anchored them to the machine, which was heavily bolted into the wall. Once he was certain they were both secure, Jasper withdrew a scomp tool from his pocket and began the meticulous process of slicing. Braze was smart. Jasper had briefed him on the possibility of such an action. If a reactionary force could be expected, they could rightly assume that contact could be forced to occur in the hangar. That meant they had some control over the environment that the inevitable confrontation was to occur within...

And what lunatic would be crazy enough to turn the ray shield off?

"Masks on, kid," Jasper ordered. "Move to the hangar's control pannel. We don't have much time before reinforcements arrive."
"Cover me. I'm tying us in," he stated. "Just... don't panic and look for something to grab hold of when the big wave of troopers get through those blast doors."

As Braze secured his helmet, he inhaled softly, following Jasper's lead. Activating a specialized mechanism in his boots, he anchored himself securely when Jasper commanded.
"Consider it done," Braze chirped through his helmet. Activating several shield layers on his Light Armor, he settled close to the wall near Jasper's back, ready and willing to defend him as he worked.

As unfriendlies made their presence known, Braze used one hand to engage their own ship's systems, manipulating its placement with the Force. He took aim and unleashed a barrage from its guns, catching anyone headed their way or trying to give them a hard time by surprise. Despite his inexperience in battlefield and war combative practices, Braze more than made up for it with his skill and non-conventional use of his Force powers. He had no reservations when fighting military operatives of the enemy.

Even as the ship went into lockdown mode, Braze suppressed a chuckle. They were going to make sure no one could leave this ship. The big guy in charge didn't understand: "We're not trapped in here with them; they're trapped in here with us." They were going to ensure no one got out of there, at least not in the way they wanted to.

'It might be better to communicate more covertly here if we are close together,' Braze suggested mentally, attempting to engage Jasper with telepathy. 'We need every advantage we can get.'

Braze quickly scanned the hangar, formulating a plan. With a wave of his hand, he manipulated the Force to move a stack of crates into a barricade, providing additional cover. The heavy containers slid into place silently, creating an obstacle for the incoming troopers.

'I'm setting up barriers to slow them down,' Braze informed Jasper mentally. 'We can use the environment to our advantage. I'm going to try and keep them off us as long as you can. I'll keep using the ship's guns to cover us as the first line of defense,'

Braze braced himself as Jasper set to work. With their telepathic communication, Braze and Jasper could operate as a seamless and devistating unit, ready to face whatever came next.

The hole gnawed in his mind.

He had to act.

Shifting in his RAMPART armour, Castor watched the HUD blink as the squad's sensors started to receive data feeds to the hangar. It was just two Jedi... scurrying about. A badly damaged fighter lay scorched in the middle of the platform, and blasted equipment all around it.

What are they doing? They should be pushing in, making use of their nimbleness and small numbers to cut deep into the imperial flagship, losing pursuers... unless they were preparing some kind of trap. But yet, this wasn't their turf. No way they had their own trap prepared already.

Something was very wrong.

<<Squad, with me. We're moving up now. Those marines will need our help.>>

The ten Commandos moved out, briskly and arms at the ready. This section of the deck had been cleared of personnel once the alarms went off- this was a free fire zone now.

Castor tried to raise the Marines on the comms, but they were not picking up. Obstinate or obscured?

Castor shook his head free. Who knew with this bunch of Dark Imperials?

They reached the aft bay door of the hangar just before the comms lit up again.

<<Fireteam Besk-Five is at the hangar, repeat, we are at the breach point>>

<<This is Silver-Six, we're on the aft entrance to the hangar. Suggest coordinated strike, how copy?>>

<<Confirm your position, Silver-Six-Actual. We were informed the second line was in reserve.>>

<<Position is confirmed- plans change, Besk-Five.>>

A silence that spoke volumes. This sergeant was clearly more concerned about losing bragging rights than receiving help against Jedi.

<<Intrusion into hangar in ten seconds.>> Came the brisk reply.

Hurriedly, Castor's fireteam stacked up and made ready to open the doors- but something nagged in his mind.

<<Rosen, seal off the next deck layer. Remote operation, we don't have time.>>

The second in command complied, sending remote signals to double-lock the doors leading from the next layer of corridors into here.

<<-five seconds->>

<<Mag boots on medium- we need the mobility against these targets.>>

<<What about a blowout?>>

The HUD beeped again, the tactical map showing the Marines about to breach from the other doors.

That damned Sergeant- there wasn't enough time for contingencies now!

<<Grab tight onto something sturdy and don't let go.>>

<<BREACH!>>

All across the hangar, thirty Stormtroopers burst in at the same time from three separate entrances, moving fast into cover and laying down suppressive fire at the Jedi.
