Dominion Clash at Kegan

CSxXc3d.png

CLASH AT KEGAN
Kegan.

An unimportant human-occupied world in the Outer Rim, largely ignored and forgotten by the galaxy this past millennia. The Keganites were modern but simple people without great ambition, occupying only a single mega-city on their fertile world, named Kegala.

A city of concentric domed circular complexes, Kegala is one of the more beautiful forgotten places in the galactic Rim. Each of the circular complexes within the city was devoted to a different purpose, including learning, food processing, administration, residences, and others. Not since the time of the Galactic Republic has this place been noticed, much less remarked upon. And the somewhat isolationist locals liked it just fine that way.

But with the arrival of Imperial surveyors, the isolation of this backwater paradise is coming to an end.

Outside the singular city of Kegala, Grondun Mountain looms tall, a favorite climbing destination of city dwellers. Until now, it was not known that the Mountain also contained a million metric tons of Mirkanite, an essential component for the construction of powerful laser systems. A valuable resource for the Empire’s war machine.

Now, the Empire of the Lost descends upon Kegan. The people are unsophisticated. Unprepared. Kegan will fall.

But like so many animals about to be slaughtered, they resist. The City Guides- the leadership of the Keganites, have activated a powerful transmitter in the city center. It beseeches anyone and everyone for aid, including the galaxy’s privateers and bounty hunters, who are promised a sizable bounty for any Imperial forces that can be destroyed.

Meanwhile, the twenty-thousand strong police force of Kegala must muster a desperate defense with civilian blasters, riot armor, and speeders. Such paltry weapons have little hope against the Empire, but perhaps they can buy some time for help to arrive…

xFAkzLf.png

Objective 1 - Clearing the Skies
A smattering of rag-tag privateering vessels, bounty-hunter hotshots, and do-gooder volunteers clog orbital space. The Empire must clear them away so that drop ships and landing craft have unhindered access to the surface of the planet.

Be careful. While there is no way for these forces to stop the Empire, they have been promised bounties for each Imperial killed, with deposits already made with the Bounty Hunter’s Guild and other institutions to guarantee payment. Take these defenders lightly, and they will bleed the Empire of precious manpower and materiel before escaping with a fat paycheck.

XCgTCwp.png

Objective 2 - Police Action

Police Officers are not soldiers. But there are twenty-thousand of them, and they are strongly motivated to defend their homes from the Empire’s assault. Worse, some of the Bounty Hunters and Privateering forces are embedded among them. There may even be do-gooder Jedi among their ranks.

Your objective: Make an assault on the city of Kegala, taking each city circle, securing every dwelling and structure. The Empire needs the infrastructure of the city intact if mining is going to proceed quickly. So, no disintegrations orbital bombardments. The action will be door-to-door, street-to-street, until the Empire controls the city.

Veylin Torque

Wayward Children Privateering Company

Objective 2 - Police Action
Wayward Children Privateering Company
Within the city of Kegala

Veylin stood with the rest of the Wayward Children, their characteristic green armor contrasting with Orange and Gray of the native police force's riot armor. They were all within the 'Central Circle,' the core of the city, awaiting the inevitable invasion from the Imperial forces which had just arrived at the outskirts of the system.

"All right, everyone," he said "this is a bit thicker of a hairball than we usually tangle up in, but as you know, we need a big payday if we're going to keep the company together."

Recent jobs hadn't been as lucrative as Veylin had hoped. Something had to change, and that change was to be found through today's contract.

"We're being paid per head, and not just a little. So our job is to kill as many of the Imperials as possible. Each of your helmets has a recording device and transciever, sending each verified kill to the ship for payout by the Bounty Hunter's Guild when everything is over.

The plan is simple. You're going to split up into teams of two, each team of two accompanying one squad of planetary security forces. You will use your superior skills and experience to guide the locals into the best possible defense of the city. We get a bonus for every hour we keep the Imperials from reaching the Central Circle.

The ship is parked out back. When we can't fight them off any more, we retreat back there and run the blockade.

The Keganites are paying for lives and they're paying for hours.

We'll give them as many of both as we can."

His second called out, "We are Wayward Children, We Must Find the Way"

The gathered troops answered, "We are Wayward Children. It is Time to Play!"

The gathered troupe lifted their rifles, pumping them into the air three times "HAH! HAH! HAH!"

With that, the briefing broke up, and the Children broke up into groups to join native policemen in an unlikely defense of the world.

Objective 3 - BYOO
(Field Reporting)

Leto Spatz wasn't the sort of person that the Keganite's transmission had been meant for. They'd hoped to gather privateers, bounty hunters, mercenaries, and even volunteer ships from regional neighbors. They'd gotten some of those. Ships were still trickling in to orbital space. Probably not enough to make a difference against the Empire.

But Leto had also answered the call.

He was not expecting to collect any bounties. Far from it. His Nubian Yacht wasn't even armed.

But he had his own weapon which he was bringing to bear. Most Galactic citizens weren't even aware of Kegan. The operations of the Empire of the Lost seemed far away and unimportant.

But by reporting on the conflict here, he hoped to bring greater attention to it.

A civilization would fall today.

An old enemy of peace would grow more powerful.

People needed to know.

And Leto?

He would be the one to tell them.

"This is Leto Spatz, streaming via secure Holonet channel, live from the orbit of Kegan.

These isolationist people do not bother anybody. For centuries, they have lived here in their solitary city. They perform minimal trade. They certainly have no territorial ambitions.

But their passivity has not saved them. Sensors have revealed that an Imperial force has just arrived at the perimeter of the system. They are advancing. And when they arrive, they mean to snuff out Keganite independence.

I will remain for as long as I can, reporting on the events as they transpire.

A reminder that today's charity is the Galactic Orphan Fund, which seeks to send aid to the fugitive orphans of galactic warfare, whose homes have been destroyed or taken by expansionist regimes like the Empire of the Lost.

You can donate by selecting the Donate button on your screen, or you can buy my merch by selecting the Merchandise button instead, with all profits going to the Galactic Orphan Fund.

Thank you for joining us.

Let's observe as Galactic History unfolds..."

Objective 1: Clearing the Skies
Battleborn Mercenary Company

Box Mattox looked through the expansive viewport of his ship, the Gorskin.

It wasn't long ago that he'd fought for Imperial forces, rather than against them. Such was the life of a mercenary. The only true allegiance you could afford was to your bank account. At least this time he could feel good about the work he was doing. Protecting a world, rather than subjugating it.

He had been shot in the head on that last assignment. Nearly killed on the streets of Seswenna by a sniper's bullet.

He'd only barely been saved. And he wasn't sure whether he was quite the same. It was something he worried about. The damage he'd taken to his brain... had it robbed him of his abilities? Made him less of a leader?

Today would tell the tale.

He was remaining spaceborne on this mission. The rear bay of the Gorskin yawned open, launching Headhunter fighters to come up alongside the mother ship. Long ago, the Gorskin had been built as a Corporate Security troop carrier. But Box's Arkanite Warbreed ancestors had spent years modifying the vessel into an able mercenary ship. The ability to house a squadron of fighter craft was what he'd be leaning on, today.

"Battleborn Squadron reporting in. They are alongside in a guardian pattern. Sensors show Imperial forces entering the system." His signals officer reported.

Box nodded, "Steady as she goes. The Imperials have the first move, today. When they reach out, we'll take their fingers."

Objective 1: Clearing the Skies

The Nackhawn had only just been fully repaired from Tryk's last encounter with the Empire of the Lost, and now he was back at it, again.

Once more, the locals were paying a bounty for kills. Once more, it was too good a deal to pass up.

He could shoot down a few Imps and jump out, a big payday waiting for him at the Guild. As long as he didn't encounter an ace pilot like last time, he should be able to recover the losses he'd incurred when his fighter had been damaged, and even come out ahead. He just had to be careful to break off if he noticed his adversary was more skilled than he was.

It would be a target-rich environment. The Imps would be swarming through orbital space. He could have his pick.

And fortunately, the Nackhawn didn't look like a challenging opponent. It was an 'ugly' according to common parlance. A cobbled together misfit fighter-craft made from whatever was at hand. He was likely to be underestimated.

Something the Jawa bounty-hunter was very familiar with.

Well, being underestimated was profitable, so he didn't mind.

Sensors indicated that the Imperial forces had arrived at the edge of the system.

It wouldn't be long, now...

Objective 2 - Police Action

Objective: Objective 2 - Police Action / Killing Spree
Location: City of Kegala
Outfit: Assassin - Sable & Scarlet
Equipment: See sheet for basics [Ping me for specifics/questions if we engage in competitive PVP]
Forces: Pinwheels [Kanni's company of Galactic Marines]
Tags: No specific tags yet for her immediate location

The Viper stood in front of her troopers, her marines, twirling her shuriken with a flourish, wearing a grin. The Grinning Kanni, some of her men and women had since elected to nickname her. They only did this because it was permitted. Nobody nicknamed Kanni anything without her permission if they wanted to live with it. No, ‘The Grinning Kanni’ kinda had a ring to it, so she definitely liked it, and was definitely grinning while pacing before her company. Kanni. Kanni Ugaiya. Kanni Ugaiya Kilran is her name. Oh. Right. General Kanni at the moment. The name of her Galactic Marines is…

“PINWHEELS! LISTEN TO YOUR GENERAL!”
She spread her arms with a flash as fast as lightning ‘cause Kanni’s quick as lightning and loud as thunder and no wonder they call her the Viper with that bite of hers!

“WE LISTEN TO YOU, GENERAL.” They echo with the voices of ghosts, for the Pinwheel Marines, in red black armor, have green pinwheel badges, no rainbow.

“OVER THERE IS THE ENEMY! AND WE GONNA KILL THE ENEMY AIN’T WE!?”

“YEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHH”

“WHO’S GONNA THE KILL THE ENEMY!?”

“WE ARE.”

“WHO’S GONNA MURDER ‘EM AND TORTURE ‘EM AND KILL ‘EM DEAD AND HURT ‘EM AND MAKE ‘EM SCREAM AND RIP OUT THEIR INNARDS THEN FEED ‘EM TO THEIR DONKEYS AND TELL THEIR MOTHERS THEY SHOULDA TAUGHT ‘EM LESSONS BOUT HOW AWESOME EMPEROR VELRAN KILRAN IS BUT THEY’RE TOO DUMB AND BIG DOODOOHEADS ‘CAUSE THEY DIED BY GREASED LIGHTNING AND THE ENDED UP BURNIN’ TO DEATH WHEN THEY WERE EXPLODED BY A GRENADE IN THEIR UNDERWEAR AND FAILED AT MATHEMATICS 'CAUSE THEY WERE TOO BUSY READIN' BOUT FUMOFFU MECHANICS AND COULDN'T EVEN READ WHEN THEY WERE ELEVENTY SIX!?”

“...Um…”

“Eheh...I mean…” Kanni bounced a finger off her chinny-chin-chin. “Hmmmm…”

“..?”

“WHO’S GONNA TAKE THIS PLANET FOR THE EMPIRE!?”

“WE ARE.”

“THEN COME WITH ME AND TAKE THIS CITY!”

“OORAH!”

“OORAH!”

The Viper promptly charged forward toward the enemy in a mighty vicious Viper-y roar!

“GENERAL!”

“WHAT IS IT, MARINE!?”

“WRONG WAY! THAT’S THE BAKERY! OVER THERE IS THE ENEMY!”

“Oomphies! WITH MEEEEEEEE!”

Moments later and the Viper and her marines began tearing into the police. Kanni twirls her shuriken! It isn’t a flourish! It’s to separate the heads from the necks. “OOFIES!” She’s fast, she’s acrobatic, yeah she moves like a ninja and has the stamina of a…of a ninja again! Slashy-slashy, stabby-stabby, while the enemy is distracted exchanging blasters with her company of marines.

Kanni’s eyes are peeled for officers in the enemy’s ranks while her Pinwheels attempt to slaughter and massacre. Granted, they’re up against resistance, so this objective isn't accomplished in seconds or even minutes. However, the Viper is confident of victory for her father, because he will accept no less from his daughter.

“HUZZAH!”

“NO, KANNI!”

“Foofy-moofy?”

“IT’S
OORAH”

“OOOOOOOOORAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!”

Objective 1: Clearing the Sky's opposition force
In the midst of the smattering of ships that had been gathered together some would be seen that were of an older design much older but rarely seen these days. About 7 Dire-class Patrol-ships floated in space around the planet near the center of their formation sat 3 Facade-class pocket carriers there complements swapped out for the more deadly and modern Devastator MK 2 Heavy Fighters that already floated around them. Replacing the normal complement with these ships had cost the craft dropping it from the 4 original squadrons they could carry to a mere 2 each meaning 6 squadrons of the heavy fighters lurked in space around the small flotilla. The more heavily armed Cutlass-class Gunships flitting about keeping an eye on the forces that may eventually oppose them and any over zealous or greedy pirates. These forces reported directly to Pirate King Miles a man that hadn't been seen or heard from in many years even if his forces had been seen at various places helping those who asked for help.

Now as these ships sat here the man who acted as leader for this flotillia had spoken personally with the leaders of the planet informing them that his Liege had finally returned from his self imposed exile. He was on his way here with more forces what type or quantity was unknown to the man but help was coming. For now they would aid in holding the line waiting for the time that the Galaxy as a whole learned that Aedan Miles once more roamed the stars.

A short hyperspace jump away a rather large ship sat waiting for the time to spring into action even as on the bridge of that ship a man long unseen in the galaxy sat meditating. Drawing upon the force as he centered himself for what was inevitably his return to the spot light of the galaxy and after this the time he would need to go and speak to those who would without question want answers as to where he had been hiding himself all this time. Finally the man opened a pair of mismatched eyes one gold the other violet as he looked around the trusted crew he had gathered members of House Miles that would once more step onto the grand stage of war.

Ships in system:
Dire-class Patrol ships
Facade-class Pocket Carriers
Devastator MK2-class heavy fighters
Cutlass-class gunships

Ship waiting for entrance:
Praetorian-class Star Destroyer

Objective 2 - Police Action
FAE/A-11 Imperial Stormtrooper Armor
Heavy Concussion Repeater
IG-14 Blaster Pistol
x4 Thermal Dentators
x4 Smoke Grenades

The Kegan Police were putting up a hell of a fight. Already, the Empire had to send in the calvary that is those Clones whom Ami still felt uncomfortable with. They're just mindless tools who jump in, kill everyone, and leave. The clones were also the Emperor's favorite toy which made Ami fearful that the Stormtrooper corps would be replaced. As Ami and her unit took cover behind debris she saw a young woman charging in killing every police officer in sight as if they were tissue.

"Who is she?" Ami muttered but it didn't matter now, Ami needed help..... again and she was clearing out swarms of enemies. "Hey you!" Ami shouted. "I'm Corporal Amiggie Lutih! I need you guys to help us reach the tank that's been surrounded by hostiles. 5 clicks from our position!"

Let's hope this woman and her clones were friendly.

Objective 1: Clearing the Sky's Opposition Force

Darth Rasnuhl's Expedition Fleet composition:
7 Cynosure Nidus
150 Vulture Droids
40 HMP
40 Sheathepede shuttles
Darth Rasnuhl stood on the bridge of the Sandstorm looking at the holo table output of the planet along with holo files of intel. Hmmm... this fight will be won or lost in space. The Ai control core vocalized in his helmet "Sir, we are forty five seconds from the destination." Turning towards the transparisteel bridge window he watched as the streaks of light suddenly gave way to Kegan looming large. "Comm officer, open a channel to the rest of my ships." a yessir is heard by men and OOM droids in reply "We have arrived above Kegan. Remember that this Imperial action will be won or lost up here. To my well trained soldiers, you might have a chance of going to the surface. Prepare your stations, to victory! Darth Rasnuhl out." There that should get them motivated. As the ships moved towards the enemy while the mostly burgundy & white painted Vulture droids fly out with some standing upon their ships hulls.

Darth Rasnuhl goes to the holotransmitter and selects the band for ground commanders, if they or their comm officers have a holo display they get to see him. "Hello, Warlord Rasnuhl here. I am soon to engage the enemy space forces, I have HMP's with B1's & B2's. My control Ai is patching so all of you can call down reinforcements if needed. Also I'm willing to lend my personal soldiers as reinforcements. For the Empire." With that the holo transmission cuts and Darth Rasnuhl returns to the holo table showing ships in the system. War once more.

Location: Direct Surveillance of Domestic Threats Outpost "KEGAN #1".
Objective: 1 and 2.
Tags: Veylin Torque Veylin Torque Leto Spatz

The Direct Surveillance of Domestic Threats was an intelligence program designed and initiated by Alicia Drey Alicia Drey : Staff Director of the New Imperial Security Bureau. When the Moff Council had shared their intentions to invade Kegan as a prelude to a plan to take the legendary prison world of Kessel into the realms of the Empire of the Lost Alicia had moved the program planetside in anticipation of the invasion. Beyond her station as Director, and therefore the duties entailed to work on behalf of the Empire's goal to expand it's borders and territories, Alicia herself had her own personal reasons for getting directly involved in this operation.

Kegan was made up mostly of countryside and therefore a paradise for animal cultivation. Given her business on the recently annexed worlds of Lothal and Ruisto adding this soon-to-be-annexed-world to the portfolio of Drey made a lot of sense. With recent business done on Sojourn and Obredaan Alicia had a lot of credits to invest, and like Lothal before it, she intended to capitalize on being one of the first to move in on Kegan before other competition could move in to compete for land and it's animal cultivation businesses.

Secondly, Alicia had previously worked on the Spice Mines of Kessel during her previous business with the Black Tie Syndicate some decades ago. Knowing that Kegan was merely a stepping stone towards Kessel Alicia had to pay particularly close attention to this campaign so that she could, in turn, renew her interests in the spice trade. With the DSDT program in her back pocket Alicia would be able to influence the events that would see herself benefit from new business opportunities on both worlds.

But first there was the small matter of invading Kegan.

KEGAN #1
was the designated name of the DSDT outpost that Alicia had secured planetside in the weeks leading up to the invasion. The building itself was an old factory that had once processed cultivated animals for foodstuffs and consumables for packaging so that they could be delivered off-world. When this invasion was concluded and victory secured Alicia would rejuvenate the business as she had several clients all over the Empire to distribute foodstuffs too. It would act as a front while the spies and agents under her command in the NISB conducted their surveillance over the city.

It was genius.

In the glow of the computers and terminals (that the NISB had smuggled to Kegan in anticipation of the operation) Alicia watched the nearby broadcasts of the planets regional television companies and foreign outlets. Leto Spatz appeared on the main screen as he begun reporting on the invasion for his consumers in the Galactic Alliance. That was no good to Alicia or her associates. "Find the location of that broadcast," Alicia instructed her men. "I want that transmission jammed and that individual apprehended immediately for interrogation."

Her gaze then turned to the terminal displaying the picture of Veylin Torque Veylin Torque . The Wayward Children Privateering Company were of interest to Alicia now that Kegan was being invaded. Much of the opposition to the Empire's forces were made up of the mercenaries under the man's command. She had met many of these types during the course of her life. There were those who believed that they were honourable men who would honour their contract until their last breath until someone like her bought them out. Then there were those who held true to their agreements so that their business would be unaffected by tales of betrayal or sedition.

Of course there were the mysterious third types who refused to enter business with her even if the offer was greater than the one they currently had. Fortunately for Alicia, should Veylin prove to be that type, she had an entire Empire coming to fight him and his forces on the day. That type of reality tended to fix ones personal ambitions, Alicia felt.

So Alicia would challenge this Veylin Torque Veylin Torque by learning which side he leaned on. When Kegan fell (to Alicia it was inevitable) then the city and surrounding countryside would still need to be Policed. Who better than someone already fulfilling this role on the planet? The problem was that Torque and his men were already in the process of launching a defense of the city. Alicia would have to move quickly to at least offer the man an alternative.

"I want Veylin Torque on my viewing screen in the next five minutes. Slice into his transmissions, find me the frequency of his personal commlink, and get me in touch with the leader of the Wayward Children. Before our military forces tear them to shreds."

Objective 2: Police Action
Wayward Children Privateering Company
Within the city of Kegala

Zel Street

Some imperial forces had landed on Kegan before the orbital cordon was formed. So the defenders of the city already had work to do.

The Wayward Children had once worked for a criminal organization, and performed all sorts of dirty deeds for them over the course of their careers. As such, they had accumulated bags of dirty tricks to use during engagements. While they may have lamented some of the things they'd done in the past, they were more than happy to use those methodologies for nobler purposes.

The sensors on their smart grenades were just the thing to set up some Flypaper.

The first step had been to disable a heavy vehicle. Easy enough, with anti-armor settings. They couldn't kill a tank, but they could mobility-kill it. The Imperials were deploying a nice model, here. Repulsorlift primary propulsion with tracked backup. But a few grenades could take out both, leaving the behemoth stuck and askew on Zel Street.

More grenades followed. Anti-personnel, littering the ground around the tank. The pair of Wayward Children with Zel Street's police forces made sure that the tank crew saw the grenades being thrown. Sensors still functioning within the tank would confirm what the people inside suspected: The anti-personnel grenades would go off if they detected movement. No one could leave the tank safely.

The result?

The tank crews would call for aid. Already, Amiggie Lutih Amiggie Lutih was responding to those calls.

Now the pair of Wayward Children privateers were positioned at sniping positions in the surrounding buildings, while police forces were arrayed in the street.

When the Imperials came to fight the police and free the tank crew from their predicament, the Wayward Children would gun them down from the high ground.

TL;DR - The Wayward Children are ready to snipe the Imperials who come to rescue the damaged tank. Anti-personnel grenades surround the tank, set to go off when infantry come within range.

Undar Street

As the forces of Kanni Ugaiya Kilran Kanni Ugaiya Kilran descended upon Undar Street, two-hundred of the city's police forces were arrayed against them. They wore riot armor and carried civilian sports blaster rifles with tacti-cool attachments, and they'd had their power-limiters removed. With such a configuration, the weapons at least gave the appearance of military weapons. This bolstered the morale of those who carried them. And indeed, the weapons could penetrate trooper armor this way, but they would quickly overheat with continuous fire.

The Keganite planetary security forces were cops, not soldiers. But the situation had no pity for them.

Fortunately, the Wayward Children were here to help.

Veylin Torque had once been an engineer by trade... albeit an engineer for the most dastardly of bosses. Before then, he'd worked with the Hutt's security forces. Those two talents now combined to the benefit of the Keganite citizenry.

The super-city of Kegala was a fairly efficient municipality. One of their energy sources came from recycled waste. Methane from excrement decomposition was gathered, concentrated into tanks, and burned for fuel to provide supplemental power for the city. Right now, several canisters of that methane were clustered beneath Undar Street, in the sewer conduits passing under the thoroughfare. They were strapped to surplus oxygen tanks taken from the city hospital. And, of course, a small explosive.

Veylin held the remote detonator for that explosive in his hand as he watched from a tall building, waiting for the Imperial forces of the Emperor's daughter to advance. It would be the most literal interpretation of 'Shitstorm' that had ever been brought into being.

His comm line crackled, and he touched the pickup at his neck.

"Say again," Veylin answered.

Another crackle. Then an indistinct voice.

"I'm not reading you. Try amplifying your signal."

Finally, the voice came through clearly.

"Stand by for the NISB director, Mr. Torque."

Veylin blinked. He needed better comms security, apparently. He listened as the Imperial forces came on, his finger on the detonator's button.

TL;DR - The sewers beneath the street have been 'mined' with a remote-detonated Methane-Oxygen bomb. Veylin is receiving a transmission from Alicia.

Objective 3 - BYOO
(Field Reporting)

In orbit, aboard an
H-Type Nubian Yacht

"Even as ad-hoc resistance forces gather in orbit to form an improvised blockade, I am getting reports of early fighting on the ground. Some Imperial forces must have managed to land and begin operations before the blockade was in place. The blockade is now less to prevent an invasion than it is to prevent the invasion from being reinforced.

So far, there is.... sign of.....City leaders... to fight.... casualties which...."

Leto frowned. His transmissions were being jammed, but not from the direction of the approaching Imperial ships. No... it was a source on the ground.

The Imperials must have set up shop down there in advance of the invasion, and now they were using Electronic Warfare devices to interfere with his news stream.

They were probably tracing his position. He activated the ship's Shroud system, and moved into a different orbit.

As KEGAN #1 sliced into Veylin Torque Veylin Torque 's commlink Alicia marched towards the terminal and placed a palm on the shoulder of the operative in front of her. They took the meaning behind the gesture, and stood out of their seat to get out of her way. Leaning forwards Alicia positioned herself before a microphone that was connected to one of the relay nodes that were now connecting her to the Wayward Children's leader.

"Veylin Torque," Alicia begun, and as she spoke every syllable that was ushered was laced with the dark side as she used Force Persuasion upon the man. "I am Director Drey of the Empire. We have triangulated your position with one of our Star Destroyers in orbit. I am in contact ith the Captain of that ship, and I have them on stand-by to fire on you as we speak."

Alicia paused and allowed her words to carefully worm their way into Torque's mind. It was a lie, of course. She hadn't yet contacted the likes of Darth Rasnuhl Darth Rasnuhl to fire upon the city. Leaning back from the microphone Alicia pressed a button to mute her end as one of her men reported that Leto Spatz 's transmission was now being jammed.

"Connect me to Lord Rasnuhl. I need him to find me that ship."

Objective 1: Clearing the Skies
Battleborn Mercenary Company

In a breach of proper protocol, the signals officer of the Gorskin whistled.

Box turned to look at her.

"Seven Star Destroyers," she reported, "the Imperials are serious about taking this planet."

She paused, then added, "But it seems we have... pirate ships? If the transponders and law-enforcement reports can be believed. Though, with the way things have been in the galaxy these past couple of years, almost everyone has been declared to be a pirate by someone. They have Patrol ships and pocket carriers, primarily."

"I'd fly alongside Darth Vader if it got us a victory, here.

Since these new arrivals seem to be the heaviest ships out here, they'll probably expect operational control of the combined forces. Reach out to them, see if they have any suggestions about our deployment. If we can coordinate with them, we should."
Box issued his orders. Even if these 'pirates' had a sub-par plan, coordinating with them would make it more effective.

The signals officer nodded and got on the comms, reaching out to Aedan Miles Aedan Miles ' forces to see how they wanted to proceed.

Solan smirked, looking on at the others he was talking to while they droned on about what they wanted. Solan had come to this meeting with the intention of getting some help to defend Kesh and the space around it, seeing as a large majority of the ships he still had in working order had been heavily stripped of their weapons to make room for supplies and people. Thankfully he still had a few more operational ship, the most up to date and best kept being the three that he had come to this meeting with today. Honestly he wished he did not have to work with such money hungry idiots, but at the least he was likely to be far less trouble to work with compared to if Aedan Miles Aedan Miles was the one at the table right now.

If it was Aedan, he probably would have killed someone by now.

Still his eyes would move to the side moments before it happened, feeling the arrival of the fleets as they left hyperspace and his brow rose further when he realized he did not recognize the signatures that were displayed. Ships he had no information on or how to deal with? That was a feeling he had not had in a while, and it excited him to the point that his smirk only grew into a full sized grin. Surely this was a present for him after having to spend so long with nothing to do.

It did not take long for the other pirates to start reacting, being called away from the call and Solan himself would stand, waving for his subcommander to take command of the meeting while he walked over to look at the ships on the display. Some of them were pretty small but the presence of those Seven made him curious. He would study the screen for a little bit longer before his eyes turned towards the subcommander who had come to stand beside him. He listened, hearing that the Pirates were going to face these imperials head on, while some were immediately escaping the system if they could.

Imperials... that was something he did not realize were going to become an issue so quickly. If they stuck around for too long, it could bring trouble to Kesh...

That said his eyes would turn towards the screen again, seeing the target he wanted and he would smile again before speaking his order.

"Head for open space, chart a course just close enough that the farthest out from the planet could intercept us. Broadcast an SoS on a wide frequency with the message for allies to come and help. That should be enough bait." He smiled and would look to his left, nodding to a liason that was waiting for the next order.

"Send an encrypted message out, hide it in the broadcast... I think Aedan will have more fun if he comes himself." He would smile and with that, the three ships that served the Keshiri people, that served a certain company and more specifically a certain new force in the galaxy would start to move. They would separate from the main portion of the pirates, conveniently looking rather ramshackle and worn by time.

Surely an easy kill for a captain who was eager for some glory.

Objective 1: Clearing the Sky's opposition force

Alekzander sat rather bored on the bridge of one of the Dire-class ships staring blankly as he saw what ships they enemy had brought humming almost absently as he listened in with half an ear as his Uncle Solan was attempting to recruit some lesser pirates as minions. Finally he looked up as someone contacted his ship answering the call the young man sat upright and smiled broadly. "WHY Hello there. Pleasure to meet you or at least it would be if I actually knew who you are. BUT That's neither here nor there our plan is to delay them while waiting for my father to arrive. You will know when he does. For now do us a favor and make it seem like your offended with those three ships that just broke off yeah? See if you can bait one or two of those Star Destroyers of theirs into chasing them I mean you would have to be foolish not to. Anyone who has cruisers in their employ clearly has more forces nearby that could make this fight so much worse for whoever these Imperials are. For now just have any fighters you have fall in behind the Devastator's they will move to engage the swarm first pass than head for those Star Destroyers to launch their proton torpedo's and be a pain. Any fighters you have should engage the remains of the swarm for now." As Alekzander spoke his words became truth as if insulted the Devastator's did a small loop in front of his force before they seemed to put more power into their engines and surge away rapidly. Humming he sent a command to the Cutlass-class gunships sending them swiftly swinging into the wake of the Devastator's trying to lag far enough behind that any fighter craft that would follow it would move to engage the swarm allowing them to pass them to assist in annoying the Star Destroyers.

He noticed a few moments later that the rest of the Pirates seemed to hesitate eyes flicking absently around he opened a system wide broadcast before yelling at the gathered pirates almost disdainfully. "OI YOU LOT OF COWARDS I HAVE SEEN BANTHA CALFS WITH MORE COURAGE THAN YOU! CLOSE RANKS AND PREPARE TO ENGAGE! House Miles stands here in defense of the space over this planet you wouldn't want to let the Pirate King himself down when he finally arrives would ya?" Cutting the communication he opened links to three of the other Dire-class absently. "Oi have any Red Fang aboard prepare once my father inevitably arrives we will be going to bolster the fight on the ground and get out any that want to try and get revenge later on more meat for the meat grinder of war after all."

Watching as the various ships under his command and even a few of the more meaningful Q-ships the pirates had made closed ranks and started to prepare for the coming assault he hummed absently spinning the lightsaber he carried in his hand as he watched. Absently issuing a few orders to bring the cluster of ships to the forward center of the rather ragtag formation that had started to form.

7x Dire-class Patrol Ships
3x Facade-class Pocket Carriers
6x Squadrons of Devastator MK 2's

Darth Rasnuhl looked over all the moving ships on the holo table taking stock of the enemies forces & positions. Hmmm quite a rag tag group with a fair amount of fighters.. Turning to the Comms officer "Tell the rest of the ships to keep the loose wedge formation with the Sandstorm at the head. Hold fire until they are in proper turbo laser range." A quick yessir is heard from the female Zabrak. It felt like an instant from that order that he noticed a group on the map splitting off and the closest of his ships, the Sunderer appears to be turning its bow towards them. At that moment the Comm officer speaks up "Lord Rasnuhl, we just received a distress signal from the wayward ships." Bantha fodder! The brash fool! "Hail Captain Xelnar. Tell him to fall back into line immediately!"

Xelnar was the most aggressive of his new captains, albeit most of the time his gambles paid off. But through the force he had a bad feeling about the captains actions, there are so many smaller vessels that they need to stay in formation. May the force guide them. After all his organic troops were all highly trained & let the droids do the heavy dying. In his helmet <<Ai, can you prep the Sunderer's shuttles and send a message to the marines commander?>> a brief moment later <<Yes Warlord, shuttles prepped. What message would you like sent?>> Darth Rasnuhl had been pondering it for the last few moments, thinking of just the right words. <<Tell her, Get your soldiers ready for anything including giving up the ship. The shuttles are prepped.>> Darth Rasnuhl paced as the one word reply came <<Done>>.

This truly will be a trying battle. He sighs, as the Comm officer once again interrupts "Lord Rasnuhl, I am patching a NISB transmission to your personal comms... Its the Director." Now this is an interesting turn of events. <<Hello Director Drey, Is there something I can help you with? Perhaps some orbital droid insertions? The space waltz is soon to start. >>

Lisette worked with quick, yet shaky hands as she set up her mobile ground control station and powered it on, before jacking into its systems via the Neurochip installed on her brain. With the activation came a deluge of information that flowed into her awareness with the force of water surging out from a reservoir. And yet, in spite of the sudden, overwhelming nature of the data flood that engulfed her mind, causing her eyes to glaze over as her attention was drawn away from her physical body and into localized cyberspace, Lisette found comfort in the familiarity of the routine. It immediately distracted the clone from the persistent anxiety that had continually lingered in her mind since the moment she learned of her deployment to Kegan for a special military operation. Now, that anxiety was all in the past, washed away with the streams of data that her enhanced mind parsed and filtered through with lightning speed as she ran the preflight checks in ritualized sequence.

“This is Mint, reporting all systems nominal on my station.” Lisette spoke into the comm. All the while, part of her attention returned from cyberspace as she gently grasped the flight stick with deft, manicured fingers, testing its control in her grasp. “Requesting additional details on my tasking.” She continued. “Do I have any assigned targets?” The clone added.

“Negative at this time. You will hold station until tasked. However, you have clearance to engage any targets of opportunity within your sector.” The masculine voice at the other end added. And yet, his last words caused Lisette’s brows to rise as their implications dawned on her. She was being given more operational freedom than she had learned to expect in training.

For all intents and purposes, the bridles had come off.

“Copy that, control.” Lisette replied, her voice betraying none of the surprise that she felt.

“Aurek is ready. Opening link to your station. You are clear for takeoff. Good hunting.”

Suddenly, a fresh surge of data came over Lisette’s mind as she synced with the drone—a Mirage stealth attack drone that was the newest UAV in the arsenal of the Empire. As anticipated, its loadout was as she had set up prior to landing. Two rocket rifles loaded with Iadrium missiles, two Firedrake medium phased pulse cannons, and a single centerline heavy phased pulse cannon.

In theory, it was enough firepower to destroy a tank.

Lisette took a deep, calming breath before pushing forward on the flight stick, launching her drone out from its place in the storage bay. Moments later, she was flying through the city, weaving her machine in and out of various streets while monitoring its sensors for contacts. Before long, she arrived at her assigned sector, within shouting distance of the forces accompanying Amiggie Lutih Amiggie Lutih .

“Drone support is on station and ready for tasking.” Lisette commed in to the stormtroopers on the ground as she flew her drone over Zel Street. As she did, she spotted the anti-personnel mines surrounding the tank through her drone’s optics. While the clone knew that the stormtrooper armors had sensors which could detect explosives, she decided that it would be pertinent to warn the soldiers on the ground.

“Be advised, the area surrounding the tank is heavily mined.” Lisette said as she contemplated the problem. The mines didn’t look big enough to be capable of downing a tank, which meant that they were anti-personnel. The beginnings of an idea began to form in her mind.

“If you need me to, I could try to trigger them.” She suggested.

Box frowned as the signals officer relayed the pirate's response to the speakers.

He could tell that he wasn't dealing with professionals. Still, that didn't mean that they couldn't be effective. Amateur warriors had one undeniable benefit: They didn't follow the book. As such, they were difficult to anticipate.

"Right," he said, "order the Headhunters to form up with their Devastators. Follow them on the torpedo run and then join the snarl which follows.

Meanwhile, bring the Gorskin into formation with their pocket carriers. It's probably where we belong in this hodgepodge."

The signals officer acknowledged, and the Headhunters were soon swerving into position, joining the pirate Devastators on their run.

Objective 2: Police Action

The police forces on the ground took no notice of the drone flying nearby. They continued to hang back, making occasional suppressive fire from well behind the blanket of waiting explosives. They knew the plan: Lure the Empire in. Then the anti-personnel grenades would be triggered, and the snipers would begin carving the flanks of the encroaching platoons.

But the Wayward children in their sniper positions within the buildings did notice the drone. Sort of.

Beyliss Tarn cast her gaze skyward occasionally, scanning for enemy overflights. Something caught her eye. Something in the sky, just for a moment. She blinked. "I think I saw something. Flying over there."

Vagras Dunn lifted his gaze from his scope for a moment. "I don't see anything." Then he consulted his portable scanner. "Nothing on sensors."

"I'm telling you, I saw something," Beyliss insisted.

Vagras frowned, returning his eye to the scope. "Okay, you saw something. Let me know when you see it again."

Beyliss squinted at the sky. Whatever she'd seen, she couldn't see it now. But she was sure she'd seen... something.

Veylin glanced up at the sky, as though he'd be able to see the star destroyer in orbit.

Well... he might have been able to, at night.

But orbital space was now festooned with mercenaries, bounty hunters, and volunteers. He doubted any Star Destroyer in a position to fire upon him would be without more important concerns.

"So if you've got me in your sights, Director, why are we having a conversation? Shouldn't I be dead by now?

Or have you decided to betray the Empire and warn me so that I can get out of the way?

If so, I pay good wages, and the caf in my galley is pretty good."

He returned his gaze to the street below. His thumb caressed the actuation button as he waited.

Just one more minute...
