Objective 1: Clearing the Skies
Sub Objective: Divide and Conquer.
Solan would smile, the bait having worked perfectly as his officers reported that one of the Star Destroyers had broken off and was now following them farther away from their support. It looked like another was starting to break off too but maintained formation, probably for the best as if another had followed his intentions would be far harder to pull off. Either way though he would smirk and lean back to look over at the comm station. It had been some time, and as he walked over he spied just the thing he wanted, reaching down to pick up the receiver. He would wait, the seconds turning to minutes, watching as ships pulled further away. They were still at a distance that the fire from the Star Destroyer was minimally effective but as he waited the window came.
Just enough for a certain pirate to move on in behind it.
"Target is in position, initiate Plan Rat Trap." He would nod, the message being broadcasted ending, allowing for the Rogue Captain, the Admiral overseeing his acts, and the newly arrived Emperor Kilran to get one moment to think before realizing what had been set up.
"Lets see if Aedan still enjoys dropping in... make sure the coordinates for his arrival are clear... as for our friend... turn and open up the comms. I want to be sure that he they hear my message." He waited patiently, letting the comms officers get to work and only when he was given a nod and the signal was open would he speak.
This time, a broadcast that was not aimed out into space as an SOS, and instead something every person in the system could hear that was near a comm panel or that would have someone near them that was.
"Good Afternoon, I thank you for your presence here today. You see, it has been a long time since Ive had the chance to see my friend in action... as for the dear Captain who had followed my ships, I do apologize but I hope your boss accepts your resignation." He would close the channel, stepping back and heading for the hanger. He wasn't going to let his men have all the fun.
No longer had Solan's voice been sent out over the comms would the Captain of the Sunderer find out his mistake, the two Infernus Class Cruisers shifting and turning, looking to box him in as the Hellfire presented its side to the chasing Star Destroyer. The process would be slow comparatively, only a few minutes, but when it came to ships on the scale that were turning to engage, the result was unavoidable. As the Hellfire turned, and as the Infernus finished their own change in direction, the Sunderer would find itself faced head on with the three ships, as they slowly lumbered into position, and fired.
Missiles, Turbolasers, and Masers opened up, coating the Star Destroyer in a sudden wave of punishment, but even then hidden in all that was 32 pods. 32 Boarding Pods were mixed into the rain of missiles, hidden and treated as such, aimed right for the body and the superstructure of the ship.
It would be only a minute or two, but soon the dear captain Xelnar would come to find out he had more than just three heavily armed cruisers to deal with.
Especially as his first message would reach it's target. After all, while three of the four directions left for the Captain were cut off, surely the path he had come from would be safe still, no?
