Cornered on Carida [Mereel Vaun vs Bounty Hunters]

CARIDA
VALENTINE'S STARSHIP
Getting aboard this ship was never going to be as easy as they may have thought.

The Bounty Hunter was in the process of dragging Mereel aboard the ship, his Visor staring out of the ship with the back of his body facing the inside components. Surely he could trust someone such as Boltz in this moment, right? That squat Ugnaut surely wasn't stupid enough to try anything untoward. Lest he face a gruesome death.

Fett's brown and callous eyes, hidden beneath the Mandalorian Helmet, were glued to the closing ramp and the gap between it and the ship itself as it dwindled. The roar of a jetpack came their way, and Fett relinquished his grip upon the Blaster which allowed it to fall but be caught by it's sling. The hand that held it rushed for his gauntlet, hovering just above and waiting for the perfect moment. HK was so close, but he was so far. The Bounty Hunter enabled the Hunter's Aide, projecting a hard-light hologram that acted as a sheer wall, suspended in the air, blocking off all entry to the vessel (through it's main entrance) as the ramp continued to close. Whether HK went splat, or avoided it by other means, it simply wasn't possible to breach through it and still arrive on board. Perhaps they joined the crew of those that braved the exterior, or jumped into fighters of their own.

The shield was fragile, to an extent. Capable of being torn through after several rounds of heavy blaster fire, but that is why the Mandalorian waited until the perfect, most opportune time to play such a tool.

["Can't seem to give you any tactical information. Everything seems.... Dark"].

CLANG. The sound of Bishop's head hitting the vent floor as he sighed. "You don't say...". The vent was.... a little more than cramped. He could fit inside of it, just not well, to the point where he was on one knee trying to travel through it. However, the sounds of blaster fire, among other noises, emanated from ahead. ["Sounds like the same blaster used by one of the hunters"]. "Noticed that too.... How high up are we?", ["You don't want to fall"], "Ah. They might want to close that door soon". As Bishop made his way, painstakingly through the vent, he reached a reinforced durasteel vent cover. ["It's got several bolt and magnetic locks, we might need to hack into the ship's mainframe and trigger a manual rele-"]. He was interrupted as the sound of Bishop's torch igniting pierced the dead quiet sound of the vent, and then the singe sound of him slowly cutting through. ["That can work."].

Attempting to cut a durasteel vent cover off with a plasma torch is a job that needs concentration. So when you're 6'2" in height, wearing full gear, cramed inside of the vent, and listening to the.... ever growing sounds of lightsabers clashing, and blaster fire. Needless to say: It took some nerves in order for his plasma torch to come full circle on that grate cover. And with a front kick, the cover went flying off, the mercenary emerging. "I'm in the bay", He drew one of his WESTARS, ducking behind a crate nearby. He had come out around the left side of the ship, same side as the landing gear he used. First thing he saw was the man, hammerhead armor, keeping the main door covered with blaster fire. "get me some info of him", ["One second..... "]. Bishop kept his back to the crate, peaking out either side. Koda had entered the fray, well it seems their odds just went up, and then fett seemingly created a wall blocking any exit through the main door. The HK unit was tusseling with... ["A Mr. Julian Valentine"], and it seemed the woman accompanying Mereel was currently caring for him while he lay near paralyzed.

The short hum of his gun as he set it to stun sounded out, and then he proceeded to move from behind the crate, moving around through points of cover until he was across from the main entrance. He then moved in, using some sort of staircase as an emergency cover point as he approached Mereel. "Ready to meet your father, Buddeh?".

Auri Vesta

Captain of the Rimrunner
Well, they were out of the hangar now...

Hopefully they wouldn't be leaving the atmosphere anytime soon. Auri knew her watery human biology wouldn't agree with the cold emptiness of space.

So if she didn't want her blood vessels to pop as her blood cells rapidly froze and expanded, she needed to come up with a decent plan in the next two or three minutes. She'd thankfully been able to pull herself up and hook the grapple blaster to her belt, so falling to her death was less likely than it had been a moment before. Should she just zip up to the boarding ramp and bang on the door? No, she had no leverage. Why would they bother? Easier just to let her freeze. By now Auri realized these were bounty hunters after Mereel. They weren't renowned for their hospitality.

Hmm... Maybe I just need to try speaking their language.

Auri was good at working bad situations into her favor. She did it all the time in her line of work, a little skimming off the top of a cargo haul here, and a little money laundering from a cartel there. There was only one thing you needed to turn a dire situation on its head. You had to be willing to act a little crazy.

Auri knew the mechanics of a KR-TB pretty well. She'd never flown one, but she'd seen the schematics, even helped work on one briefly. The important thing was, she knew where the rhydonium lines ran.

She unholstered her second pistol, aiming it for the ships aft, and firing another cable line into the hull. She began the slow and meticulous work of slacking up the first line and then reeling herself in with the second.

"Here we go, moment of truth." Auri could barely hear herself over the roaring of the wind as she removed the fusion cutter from her utility belt. "The fuel line should be... right.. here." She began to cut away at the hull, sheet by sheet. The incision started small at first, but luckily fusion cutters were made for this kind of work. It cut away at the metal like butter. She cut pretty deep, but...

Stang!

Just wires, no fuel line. She decided she better move to the second phase of her plan while she continued to hunt down that fuel line. Bluffing was always part of the game too right? The second phase required her to pause for a moment and move her wrist communicator up to her lips.

"Hey, friends." She greeted, putting on her sweetest voice. It was very similar to the one she used to flirt at the club, which went even farther back to the voice she used to use to convince her dad to let her take the family speeder out for the night. "Don't mean to alarm you, but if you don't do me a favor and open up your hatch, I'm highly considering cutting this tub's fuel line. I'm kinda in a predicament at the moment and I would very much appreciate a helping hand. This is an open channel right?"

Mereel's arms and legs were still paralyzed, so as the new bounty hunter appeared just ahead of his position on the floor he really only had one quick option.

"Hey, Mando man, you missed one." he said, in reference to the Mandalorian who had taken him aboard the ship, and not the newcomer who also happened to be clad in mandalorian armor. If he had known Auri had been outside of the ship, he would have said that he had missed two, but alas, his communication systems were still very much fried from the first bounty hunter's stun hand, the multiple stun bolt rounds he had taken across his armor, and also the electric prod that HK had used on the woman he had stabbed with his lightsaber.

It appeared Seo had made it on board the ship just moments before Koda had fired his hologram. So far, she was unnoticed by anybody around and the focus was on Mereel. This was just fine with her and it gave her the time needed to get her pain under control so she was able to function better. Moving as silently as she could, she would attempt to reach into her pack and take out a small bag of what looked like herbs. Taking a small pinch of them, she placed it under her tongue and sucked on it. The pain of her leg faded and that baggie went back into her pack.

Of course if Koda, Mereel or anybody else on the ship stopped her, then that would never have happened.

Anything you can think of for me to do to help get us off this ship in one piece?

The thought went straight into Mereel's mind through the Force and he would know who it was from. A conversation not long ago on a planet that seemed so far away had taken place. That lesson given to him that day would come into use now. His communicator was shot, but they had a way to talk to each other.

Perhaps he could thank Mereel for that.

As Fett was in the process of dragging the somewhat functioning body of Mereel Vaun, it had come to his attention someone else had arrived in an attempt to steal his bounty from him. That would not do, no, of course not. A man of relentless nature, unyielding in the pursuit, never surrendering. There were all too many ways one could describe the nature of Fett when on the hunt, or quite possibly when off it as well. He lived for it, after all. It was his life, and without it he was nothing. Wasting away on the breeze, turning to rust, and then to dust.

The Carbine that was once within his grip hung by it's sling around his neck, softly colliding with his chest upon each step backwards. His right hand thrust for the holster, snapping at the WESTAR-35 within it and thrusting it's barrel in the direction of Bishop who was sure to find a volley of blaster bolts finding themselves in his direction.

All the while Boltz continued to soar upwards and away from the planet. The Ugnaut was intent on calling the Smuggler's bluff, surely not the type to kill herself in the process of slicing into the fuel line.
