Cornered on Carida [Mereel Vaun vs Bounty Hunters]

CARIDA
KENDAL SPACEPORT
SOUTHERN ENTRANCE - GATE 11-A
This Spaceport was thick with bodies. Bodies that bounced off one another the instant they seemed to be heading in opposite directions, otherwise they just strolled alongside one another until they reached their destination. Similar to mindless drones, but that was traffic, wasn't it? Fett wasn't truly accustomed to 'traffic', really. Not in space, nor on the ground; a man armed to the teeth was often left well enough alone, and vessel that spat forth the word 'menacing' wasn't something you wanted to hold up in traffic. The struggles of ordinary people just weren't within his vast wealth of knowledge. Suppose he had never known such struggles.

Fett brought the Carbine from his shoulder and allowed it to firmly rest within both hands, striding backwards in the direction of the doorway. A glance left and right, but nobody of note was in sight. Seemed to be in the clear, for now. As the blast doors shut, the Mandalorian turned to watch Mereel drop to a knee and raise his left hand. Fett did so to, but instead his right. Wielding the Carbine as if it was a Pistol, he fired it in the direction of Mereel's left hand with the intention of striking true. Valentine, however, was left alone- for now.

The Mandalorian turned at the sound of some commotion behind and above him, staring upwards to watch Bishop fire off a round of his own, and then the Droid. As a result, a barrage of wrist rockets were launched in HK's direction. The rockets were aimed at the ground all around the Droid, intent on knocking it away or scrapping it entirely. Wasn't a time for this nonsense.

Tom watched as a bunch of things that all happened at once. The port authorities near [member="Mereel Vaun"] turned out to be hunters themselves . They stunned him then he fired something from his arm. A droid [member="HK-36"] dropped down next to Mereel. [member="Koda Fett"] also fired at mereel. And then the doors shut. KR and him watched it all happen. "Well I did say it was a big bounty didn't I." The droid made a low whistle. "Yeah I know, I know we need to help him and that woman with Mereel ([member="Seo Linn"] ) looks like she is still in shock." He would begin running.

His first focus was the droid, lightsabres coming off his belt, he activated them. "Oi droid, that's my friend there, I don't care what mistakes he has made everyone can be forgiven now leave him alone and leave or fight me. I am not letting you take him. KR focus fire on [member="Koda Fett"]. I can deal with the rest." The droid would then fire it's flechette launcher at Koda Fett. Mainly to keep him busy that was it's only point. After it would try to hide in the crowd. Meanwhile Tom would strike at the droid deciding it's gloating was enough to warrant an attack.

The Jedi had not been far in front of them and was actually on the way to the ship when she heard the blast doors shut behind her. There was no logical reason for this and she turned around to see what had caused the issue.

One of the port authorities, the one in the ill fitting uniform was the one that caused the doors to shut and her eyes fell on the trio still there. The female hadn't done anything, but that protocol droid was reaching out to touch Mereel on the shoulder. Less than a heartbeat later it was no longer a droid and in its place stood what looked like an armored hammer head.

Not close enough to prevent that shock from happening. When that happened, the woman lurched into motion herself and blasted Mereel with a stun shot. The familiar blue hue was all it could be. If her reasoning was accurate, it had been these three that blocked the Force. While she was far enough away to have access to it, any Force ability would be voided and have no effect on them. However, that didn't mean she couldn't lift something with the Force and throw it at them.

As that thought crossed her mind, her eyes returned to Yee's cart. Provided it was outside of the range that Force void, then her attempt to pick it up and throw it at them would work. Seeing the cart lift, she would proceed to put some Force behind the throw and aim the now floating cart and aimed it at the exposed back sides of the woman and former droid, now hammer head person.

Of course this wasn't all that was going on inside the hanger. From another direction came the familiar hum of a lightsaber and that drew her attention. A blade of red pierced the ceiling and that almost caused Seo to let out a stream of curses. It was probably a good thing, she didn't as it would have drawn attention to her which so far was absent.

It wasn't a sith that landed on the floor though, but something out of a nightmare. That visage didn't last too long though and it revealed itself to be a droid. Letting out a sigh, it couldn't use the Force so in a way was one less worry for her. Still certainly a concern especially considering what it said. Make that what he said, the programming was obviously male.

He called Mereel out for getting captured by a group of ewoks and fooled by somebody even dumber. What the hammer head had done though was intelligent to Seo though. It showed some thought into capture over kill and while Seo didn't agree with everything bounty hunters did, this one she could appreciate. The HK unit did not appear confrontational...yet so Seo did not speak or even really react to him other than turn her attention on the other happenings in the bay.

It seemed the HK droid drew more attention than Mereel did. Something Seo found off, but couldn't figure out why. Another hunter launched a ton of darts at him after he had fired at Mereel. That hunter's attention was split, hadn't even noticed her yet. This meant Seo could also distract him further. Being from Lorrd, her people communicated in various ways. They could imitate any sound they had ever heard with almost perfect and throw their voices like a ventriloquist.

If the noise of Mereel's vocabulator had been loud before, the sound of a Krayt Dragon was louder. Pitching it and making it sound as if it was right next to him, the entire bay and most likely through the entire spaceport, that sound would be heard. This had nothing to do with the Force and everything was vocal. If it didn't cause him some sort of disturbance, she would be greatly surprised.

Another person joined in and started to confront the HK unit and Seo turned her attention to the last person around. It was the man the droid had almost landed on top of when he came from the ceiling. He also apparently decided the HK was more important than Mereel. That man was her concern and Seo could pay attention to that group again.

All the observations and actions she did actually were only moments apart. That cart, if it connected was likely still an issue for that party.

Boltz,
Aboard the Paragon
yFEZMaD.jpg

Boltz scampered through small corridors in the Paragon, making his way through the tiny network of empty spaces between machinery that kept the ship alive. Ahead the path opened up to the proper human walkway that led through the large freighter and he began to waddle towards the cockpit, climbing the impossibly large stairs that was otherwise quite ordinary and normal to humans. The Ugnaught began to puff from exhaustion, his fatty skinfolds flapping with each outward breath. "Stupid boss," he muttered about Julian Valentine, "And why can't Boltz touch the droid?" he said as he got to the top of the stairs. He reached down and picked up the 3PO head. It was the droid they had used to scan for Julians holoprojector. It was completely torn apart now. Once Julian had left the ship Boltz did not hesitate to tear it asunder and look at the inner workings of the droid.

"Not like we keep 'round, we sell once we got target," Boltz continued to talk to himself, march-waddling towards the cockpit as he stared into the photoreceptors of the decapitated droid head. He didn't look up from the droid, chaos ensuing just outside the viewport of the cockpit. Blasterbolts pocketing the walls near their intended targets, rockets careening out of control, stun rounds firing off here and there. No, Boltz was busy, too busy for stupid human stuff. "But their music good, me like stupid human music," he said and reached over to the dashboard, his stout frame was barely taller than the chair that Julian sat on. He turned the dial up on the audio projectors and continued listening to Julians collection of Corellian music.

"IF YOU DON'T PICK UP BOLTZ I WILL PERSONALLY TIE YOU TO THE FRONT OF THE SHIP," Yee was screaming through the commlink, the sound of blasterfire in the background. The translator Yee used made it sound like it was a droid yelling through the commlink, the Ugnaught thought. Boltz reached over and muted the channel. He didn't like Yee. He knew what he was mean't to do and figured it was time. He dropped the 3PO head and waddled to the controls of the ship and lowered the loading ramp.

Yee
Slicing CSPA systems by the gate

"DI IUY DARB PIET WARRA BOLTZ ZE PILLA FERENNA DUP IUY EYO ETE TRULLA AH ETE VISH," Yee was screaming in Vuvrian, his translator automatically translating it to Galactic Basic and sending the audio through the commlink to Boltz on the Paragon. He was terrified of being shot, keeping his head low and body hunched. Chaos had erupted in the spacedocks as what seemed to be every hunter in the galactic quadrant descended upon Mereel. Julian said this was going to be an easy mission - no interruptions from space wizards with plasma swords.

He turned his head for the briefest moments to see Mereel raise his hand and project a stream of ice at Julian, the bounty hunter diving for the ground and slamming hard on his chest. Yee was terrified before, now he was utterly hysterical. He turned his attention back to the terminal when suddenly the cart with all his electronics on it began to rise off the ground. "Eo eo eo eo!" he said in protest, his translator shouting out 'No no no no!' Yee's life was on that cart, he dropped his datapad and jumped for his cart, grabbing onto it and holding it with a death grip.

Then he and the cart were flung. He didn't have time to think or react except for the primal instinct to scream. So he did, at the top of his lungs as he was hurled along with the cart straight for Julian. The bounty hunter was getting up onto his feet when they collided. There was a shill cry from a reptilian and then blood splattered either side of Julians back. The Ysalamiri had just been squashed to death by the thrown cart. Yee slammed into the ground with enough force that the last thing he remembered hearing was a loud crack! and his arm bent in the wrong direction.

Captain Robertson
Carida Spaceport Authority Control Room

kVh7dVS.jpg

Andrew yawned into his clenched fist and then folded his arms across his chest. He had worked twelve hours and the fatigue of staring boringly at screens all day was getting to him. He swore he had seen a red light flash indicating Gate 11-A's blast door had activated but the light vanished as quickly as it appeared and when he checked the security feed it showed everything as normal. Perhaps it was a glitch. With such sophisticated security networks it wasn't rare for bugs to appear in the system.

But then the light went on again, and he frowned. It was staying on. He reached his hand over to the datapad and tapped across the screens until Gate 11-A's security feed was playing. "What the-" he said as where moments before all was calm and no one was in the dock, there was now a full on battle taking place. He then saw in the corner of the feed that the terminal had been pulled apart, wires sticking out. Someone had sliced their security feeds, or so he assumed. As his hand reached for his commlink he wondered if the slicer had been looping a feed.

"Security personnel to Gate 11-A, we have a security breach!" he announced. The security personnel of the Caridia Spaceport Authority would soon gather their equipment and rush to the docks to lockdown the zone. Andrew reached over to the controls and began to seal the other blast doors across the docks and announced over the spacedocks intercoms. "This is Captain Robertson, everyone please remain calm and find safety. There is a security breach. Await until the alarms are finished. Our security personnel are now on the move to deal with the threat."

Andrew eyed the screens again and saw the slicer in the uniform of CSPA. What in the name of the Force was going on... he wondered to himself. The slicer was then raised off the ground along with the cart he was hanging onto and hurled off-screen. Andrews quickly changed feeds and saw the kid collide with a heavily armed individual. They both fell, the slicer lay on the ground unmoving but the other one was getting up.

Julian Valentine
Gate 11-A

Julian stared down at Mereel as he fell to a knee. Easy does it, he thought, then Mereel raised an open palm and Julian had a bad feeling. He dove to the floor just as a jet of ice streamed past him. He landed hard on the duracrete floor and gave out a groan of discomfort. Mereel was going to pay for that, he resolved of himself and rose to his feet quickly, but perhaps too quickly. Suddenly he was in a world of pain, something had hit him from behind and thrown him off his feet to slam back to the ground again. He was covered in blood, but not his own.

He cursed every curse under the sun and reached a hand to his back, the nutrient frame was crumpled, the reptilian would have died horribly. He got to his knees and had to get his breath back, quickly dropping the straps of the frame and getting back onto his feet. His eyes darted across his helm and activated the Huckleberry holsters, the pistols spinning and raised at his hip.

Then the alarm went off and he heard the call. He spun around to see what hit him, Yee's cart. Then where is Yee? he thought, knowing the kid was mean't to be preventing security from knowing about their little adventure. He turned to see Yee was no longer at the terminal and he spun around further, seeing the kid on the ground unconscious. His right arm was snapped at the elbow and bone protruded through flesh and cloth.

Julian quickly honed down on the person responsible. Call it whatever you will, instinct or a good guess, but Julian saw the way Seo was looking at him, she had to have been the one. It wasn't Mereel, he had been too close to access the Force. "He's just a kid!" Julian roared, royally angered by the attack and he felt a pang of panic about Yee's condition. "Willow, take care of Mereel!" he ordered, turned back to face Seo and hissed, "She's mine."

Willow would attempt to wrap her arm around Mereels neck from behind, hoping to choke him out if stun rounds did not work. The droids strength far surpassing any human. Meanwhile Julian faced down Seo, his huckleberry holsters locked onto the woman. "Go for the knees," he said and the shatterguns fired in unison from each hip and holster, the firing automated by the Jaeger holsters. He didn't want her dead, no, she'd be alive when he dragged her back onto his ship, screaming and crying. Revenge would be had.

His hands, free from the requirement of holding the guns thanks to the advanced tech, reached down to his belt and detached a single stun grenade. He took a step and lunged forward, delivering a powerful pitch as he sent one grenade hurtling towards Seo.

Mereel let out a sigh as the bounty hunter ducked to the floor to dodge the stream of cryo-ban spray. He began to re-aim his arm at [member="Julian Valentine"] but as he did so, some punk in Mandalorian armor shot his metallic palm with a blaster carbine.

The attack left him completely stunned, and he immediately cut the flow of cryoban from his left hand.

He hadn't stopped because of pain or weapon malfunction - his left arm wasn't even capable of feeling, and the single blaster bolt from the carbine hadn't damaged his in-arm weaponry in the slightest due to the durasteel chunk under the cortosis layer of the arm - but because he was utterly and totally flabbergasted by the bounty hunter's course of action.

"Hey buddy, you just blow in from stupid town? I WAS LITERALLY TRYING TO FREEZE YOUR COMPETITION." Of course, Mereel's armor systems, including his helmet's audio transmitters, were still on the fritz from the electro-jolt as he said this. All of his words were muffled by his helmet and neck glove, so there was a chance that what he had said had completely failed to carry over to where [member="Koda Fett"] was.

During his perplexed diatribe, he had failed to notice that [member="Bishop - Solus Buruk Jag"] had entered the hangar via ascension by grappling hook. The sound of a lightsaber igniting quickly alerted him to the presence of the new hunter.. and another unexpected sight.

"Oh, you've got to be kriffing kidding me.."

"Vaun! First you got captured by Ewoks, now you let yourself be tricked by someone even dumber than an Ewok, you big goober! Ha-ha, it is me, [member="HK-36"] , greatest bounty hunter in the Galaxy, and you still suck!"

The theatrics of the droid's shifting face plate designs weren't lost on him, but he really didn't have time or energy to question why the droid was wielding a Sith's lightsaber as it pointed at him, and he certainly didn't have time to come up with a witty retort to match being called a 'big goober'. "Look droid, I'm trying to get over that still, ok? It's a sensitive subject."

"And holy osik, I can't believe someone hasn't scrapped you for spare parts yet. Seriously, people replace droids pretty quickly, especially comb - "

Mereel's still-muffled response to the all-too-familiar droid was cut short as a cart thrown by [member="Seo Linn"] with the force flew from out of the corner of his vision and acquainted the ysalamir on Valentine's back with a tragic end. The spectacle of the cart flying across the room had also distracted him as [member="Tom Taff"] arrived in the hangar to help bail him out.

Although he didn't immediately notice the entrance of his second ally, he breathed a sigh of relief as he felt the force flow back through him.

He had taken a knee for a bit, and the sudden re-connection to the force had made him feel good enough to get back up, but before he could pick himself up from off of the ground, Willow moved in from behind and placed arms around Mereel's neck in an attempt to strangle him out.

At first Mereel had just expected to laugh at the woman's attempt to choke him, but her grip was unnaturally strong, mechanical cyborg arm strong.

Instead of trying to pry the supernaturally strong arms away from his neck like a complete idiot, Mereel's left hand reached for the lightsaber at his belt and quickly thumbed the activation button. As light blue light sprang out of the lightsaber's hilt, he quickly lifted the blade vertically before jabbing it backwards over his shoulder in an attempt to plunge the blade into the woman's chest or stomach.

If it landed, the attack would probably kill her assuming she was a normal human. Mereel had no qualms with that. They had signed on with Detrik Vaun, a cold man with a son who could be equally so given the right circumstances, and these were definitely the right circumstances.

It seemed that HK did not had time to revel in his gloating and superiority over Mereel as Koda and Tom were quick to jump on the gang-up-on-HK bandwagon. It was something the machine was used to, on the account of it happening so often, in fact at one point when he came to aid the ill-fated Dominion in their struggle against rebelling Primeval faction, somehow he managed to get both sides to sign an impromptu truce and work together to try and bring him down. Mostly because the droid did not spare words of criticism aimed at both sides.

Either way, Koda was right that it was not time for such nonsense, but a different kind of nonsense altogether. Some of the combatants like Seo may have sighed in relief when HK revealed himself to be a droid, assuming that the machine could not wield the Force, but in that case he may have had a surprise in store for them.

HK glanced aside as Koda raised his free hand towards him, time slowed down in the machine's perception as his programming begun to calculate and project various trajectories and variables within his mind. Taking note of Mereel and Valentine's position HK would start to raise his hand towards Koda, in slow motion like the rest of the world from his point of view.

The machine turned his head slightly, picking up on more movement as he noticed Tom charging towards him from the other side, his own lightsaber in the young Force Adept's hand. The plates on the droid's head begun to shift once more, black flesh enveloping him again as the chitinous armored layer moved into its previous position, forming a helmet-like structure with a T-shaped visor.

HK adjusted his head to look at Koda again as he saw it leave his wrist then,

First Rocket,

The droid had his own arm pointed towards Koda, fingers pointing up, outstretched, so that his palm faced the other bounty hunter. The droid begun to turn as his programming extended out the trajectory of the first rocket out towards its destination, a spot on the ground surrounding the machine. Even HK wasn't fast enough to dodge clear out of the blast zone, but at least he could use the explosion to his own means. Meanwhile he calculated in his programming how close Tom was to reaching or striking at him, keeping him in check without looking directly at the lightsaber-wielder. There was another noise from Koda's wrist,

Second Rocket,

Couple of the droid's fingers bent down back towards his palm, hooking in closer and closer towards it before touching the gauntlet layer that covered it and then starting to relax out and point upwards again, the first sign as the machine tapped into his more arcane secrets. He considered it a bit of a waste, preferring to wait a bit longer before revealing the extension of his abilities, but considering the chaos of the situation not everyone may notice what was going to happen. Plus HK didn't actually want to kill Koda or Valentine, or anyone else. He may have not been there to help them, but he still shared their profession, at least at one point, and as far as he was concerned, the Galaxy needed people like them. After all, even if it was from time to time, bounty hunters were still meant to track down and deal with actual criminals. The droid went through with his spin, his back was now facing towards Vaun and Valentine as predicted trajectories he calculated extended out from the second rocket, emulating another blast zone, and the machine adjusted to keep in mind his own trajectory once the explosion would launch him into the air. His right hand, and the crimson-bladed lightsaber, now faced Tom, he still counted down how long it would be before the Force-wielder would be able to strike him. Another sound from Koda's wrist,

Third Rocket,

Another set of fingers would bent down towards the droid's palm of the hand aimed at Koda, tapping it before spreading out once more in second hand sigil before bending down yet again to form another hand sign. It would seem as if the machine was casting some sort of archaic spell, and that was the kind of mystique HK wanted to propagate about himself. Whether it actually caught on or not depended on case by case basis. The machine was stepping back now, covering some ground to get out of direct blast zone from the rockets that were aimed around his previous spot in direction of Mereel. Again, he wouldn't be able to escape the explosions completely, but the whole sequence showed that the machine was faster on his feet than one might suspect, an attribute given by his surprisingly light Phrik-forged body. He still counted down miliseconds before Tom was upon him, tracking the boy by the sound of his steps and lightsaber now. And then it happened,

Fourth Rocket,

Yet another rocket in the barraged shot out from Koda's wrist but suddenly, as the droid formed his final sign, it shook and violently slowed soon after it fired. It became suspended in the air for a split second, almost as if grabbed by unseen force. Almost as if someone used telekinesis on it. Almost in and instant the droid clenched his hand down into a fist and the rocket he caught remotely sparked up in brilliant light as it was at the same time crushed with terrible strength and detonated. Its explosion would catch one or two rockets that would be fired upon the droid after it too, detonating up to 3 wrist rockets pretty close in front of Koda, at least if he did not try to dodge or escape, as the previous 3 flew out towards HK. Of course it wasn't the Force that HK detonated one of the wrist rockets in, and tried to trigger further detonations in front of Koda, but his Gauntlets of Gravitational Mastery. They were highly sophisticated tech based on repulsor gauntlets that could, with the right setting placed in by sequence of various finger positions, simulate telekinesis and even crush or strangle targets.

Standing in his somewhat desired position the droid would bring his lightsaber up in a quick, calculated movement, blocking Tom's strike with his crimson energy blade, causing a spark of light as the two weapons collided, snapping his head to look down directly at Tom. The droid would push in on the boy's saber, trying to force him into a saber lock and remain in the wrestle just as Tom might have noticed those three rockets soaring in towards them from Koda's position.

"I am here to protect him too-"

HK informed the Force adept, his words caught off as suddenly the area near him was rocked by a series of explosions, the impact of the wrist rockets, and presumably Tom would be caught in the explosions as well, unless he might risk trying to get away from the droid he attacked although with the pressure the machine placed on the boy's saber that might meant getting a lightsaber slicing at him somewhere. The droid was flung back from his spot, just as Koda predicted would happen, although through his reflexes, the machine was being thrown in Mereel's direction.

"- you broken jalopy!"

HK finished as he flew through the air, an energy bubble was still visible around him, a sign that his Combat Shields absorbed most of the damage, although his body was still rattled as concussive forced ran through him with internal damage, outer armor taking a beating, and the flesh that covered him giving out a terrible, shrill shriek, as if the biot itself was in pain. Again, the machine may have been thrown back farther than one could expect, due to his lower weight than most droids.

As Julian charged in towards Seo to avenge one of his partners, the droid slid in somewhat close to him towards Mereel. Being thrown back HK rolled for a bit, once or twice, before catching himself as large Phrik claws shot out from his feet, digging into the metal and the droid plunged his lightsaber down into the floor to further slow himself down. He didn't had time to push himself up to stand fully, however, leaving him somewhat open when he ended up by Vaun and Willow.

HK quickly grabbed one of the hilts on his belt, a Baton of Ember, activating the shock baton he would try to deliver a nice strong smack into Willow's torso, one of her sides closer towards her back. The machine tried to do it hard enough to embed the Baton within her mechanical body, letting the continuous electrical charge run through it if he succeeded, knowing that it probably would either stun or disable her for the time being, allowing Vaun to escape if his lightsaber trick did not work.

Auri Vesta

Captain of the Rimrunner
"Kark. Should I really be doing this?" Auri said under her breath as she tinkered inside the pried open door panel. As she tugged on the power coupling cables with her harris wrench, she heard a rapid-fire string of explosions from the other side of the door in the hangar. Auri was just a smuggler. A damn good one in her own opinion, but things sounded like they were getting a little bit out of her league in there.

"I'm too young and pretty to get blown up yet." She mused through gritted teeth, sparks flying as she tried to pry out the connectors for the energy supply. Despite her mental protests, she continued with her task. Seemed she had a soft spot for getting Mereel out of trouble.

It'd be just like old days, just with a slightly higher chance of being incinerated.

She had to get through the door first though, and that was tricky business. Cut off the power off for too long, and it could be permanently sealed without a security override. The mag locks would turn off, but Auri didn't have enough firepower with her to blow through durasteel. Her goal was to flicker the power and force the door to hard reset. For most blast doors, a hard reset meant opening as part of standard safety protocols. It was still a roll of the dice though.

"Stang!" she jumped as a jolt of electricity shot up her arm when she jammed the cable harness back into place. Auri fell backwards onto her ass, letting out an unattractive grunt of pain. Luckily, she was used to getting zapped now and again from her years of experience doing maintenance on her freighter.

She picked herself up triumphantly as the door began to slowly work it's way open. Boy, the sounds hadn't done the scene in the hangar justice. Lightsabers blazed at the ready, including one in the hand of none other than Mereel Vaun himself. That was something new.

There was also a stun grenade that went off a few meters from her right as she entered. Too far to be in range, Auri wasn't the target, but she shielded her face with an upheld forearm anyway. A half-droid, half flesh-monster (?) off to the left flew through the air, and dug a lightsaber into the ground to slow himself in front of Mereel and a woman who was trying to choke him out. It was like she'd just walked into a warzone, there were combatants all over the hangar.

Before she could figure out just what she should do, a voice called out behind her.

"Freeze! Carida Security!" So much for not getting tangled up with the local law enforcement. She turned around slowly with a embarrassed, lopsided grin on her face as a scene straight out of an action holo played out behind her.

"Sorry fellas, this is a private party. Only people with freakish powers or tech get in. I only made it in cause I'm friends with the host." She whipped out one of her blaster pistols and fired into the door panel, causing the blast door to slam shut again before the small group of guards could so much as make a move.

Holy Hutts that actually worked!

She kicked into action after that, practically diving into the small crevice between where the blast door frame was and the hangar bay actually opened up. Both her blasters were drawn now, but now she was at a loss as to who to shoot at. She decided she'd take a moment to breath then and watch. The woman strangling Vaun clearly wasn't friendly, but Auri wasn't quite confident enough to take that shot. Mereel would figure something out with that lightsaber of his.

["Koda Fett, Mereel Vaun, a main in armor, the other woman is of possible jedi origin. I wouldn't fire the shot that starts this"].

In his haste, Bishop didn't notice the woman messing with the door computers, instead attempting to focus on Mereel. ["From what I can gather, his body looks under intense stress from all those incapacitation zaps. If you're not careful, he could go into Cardiac arre-"].

BZZZZZZZZZZT

Bishop's eyes shot to a durasteel vent directly behind him. 'Oh kriff-'. ["If that's- A sith. You're in deeper than you already were"]. It's then, the cover flew off, right towards him. Quickly rolling to his front right. Bishop regained stance.... just in time to see a large HK unit blast out from some sort of jetpack, landing upright. Understandably, Bishop aimed his gun at it, but didn't fire as the droid showed no immediate sign of hostility... Then it spoke. Marcus has been around the galaxy more than a few times, he's seen, talked to, fought, killed, tired up and hauled back across the galaxy, just about everything. So it was surprisingly enough, that he paused for a second. ["Did.... Did it just say Vaun was bested by Ewoks"], "Did it just say Goober". His adrenaline shot through his veins when a wrist rocket hit the HK right in the face. Causing him to duck behind a large shipping container, he peaked from the corner, to see Koda had fired a little more than a few rockets at the droid.

"I'm starting to see what you meant-" Bishop attempted to stick to the away side of the container, he peaked around the far end of the container... Only to just barely pull back as the cart the woman tossed at the droid, crashed into it. "FARK", ["Could you ease up on the language"], "Could you ease up, on being about as useful...-" He peaked again. The droid had now locked blades with another jedi. " as a toaster....". Vaun was now struggling with what seemed to be the woman at the gate, Koda seemed to be taking up a ranged position, the white haired woman took the side of Mereel and the saber user. And Bishop? Well. he contemplated things. ["Go against the jedi, that's three jedi you'll be facing"]. 'The droid took several rockets to the face' he pondered the thought. ["Your call, Sir"].

'Choose a side, or go home broke'.
It's that that moment, he knew being an opportunist right now would serve his interests... So he turned from behind the container, and fired on the jedi attacking the HK unit. Anyone near them who was hit as well?
Collateral.

As soon as that cart had started moving, the man in the ill fitting uniform had grabbed a hold of it as if his life depended on it. Luckily, Seo had enough ability to still make that cart connect. Unfortunately, the man was hurt in the process. The mission it was intended to accomplish worked though and that cage was destroyed. Hopefully Mereel now able to access the Force would be able to get out of the grasp of the female.

Willow moved quickly though and had him in a choke hold in a moment. Sadly for her companion, there was nothing Seo could do for him as she now had the attention of the hammer head hunter. Even without being able to see his face, his body language gave her enough information and there was going to be hell to pay for her actions.

In a heartbeat, his guns automatically locked onto her and fired. The Jedi dropped, but not fast enough and the shots connected to the meaty part of her legs. Not striking any bone, the pain was great enough that for a moment, her vision got blurry. That stun grenade flew her way and hit the ground a few feet in front of her. On its impact, there was no damaging explosion, but a tremendous flash of light that blinded her.

Until her vision might clear up, Seo was essentially out of the fight.

It certainly seemed that way, didn't it, Mereel?

Every man had a creed, a set of guidelines that they followed. It didn't matter who they were, what they were, or what they thought they were. They all lived the same, to a degree. Fett had a code that he abided by, crafted not by himself but instead a man that he once knew... in a matter of speaking, that is. It had twenty different rules, all of which that pertained the prosperous profession of bounty hunting- the very thing that this Mandalorian appeared to excel at. Number one? 'Trust no one, use everyone'. Number three? 'No friends, no enemies. Only allies and adversaries'. They both applied today, and despite the lack of trust he felt towards an individual, it was required to an extent. They were by no means friends, nor enemies- simply allies for the time-being. Capable of being shattered into oblivion within a fraction of a second.

Such is life.

A series of words projected into his internal speakers, capable of being heard by Fett alone. They were commands, orders, wishes, and whims. Yet, Koda wasn't exactly great at listening to orders - sensible suggestions appeared to be more his speed.

The Spaceport itself seemed to of turned into a battlefield, or the start of an awful joke. A Sith Droid, a Jedi, two Mandalorians and one that pretended to be, a Smuggler, and finally some boy with a very dangerous glowstick. It was a dangerous area to be in, but, 'A bounty hunter must always be ready to go anywhere and face any danger'. Be sure that Fett was not afraid, he never was.

Unfortunately, however, his own missiles seemed to be returning in the direction of himself. Return to sender? Maybe. Yet, the Mandalorian had activated a burst of his jetpack, causing flames to spit from the exhaust and thrust him in the direction of the starship Mereel was almost apprehended upon. So close, yet still with a long way to go. Those missiles whizzed by him, colliding with the wall that lied beyond, damaging the duracrete. A shame, really.

Now, Fett back pedalled in the direction of the Vessel with his eyes keenly shifting upon the area around him. His Blaster Carbine began to glow red, and had become hot to touch. Volley after volley of crimson bolts were sent outwards into the crowd of combatants indiscriminately, just as a screech that mimicked that of a Krayt Dragoon boomed throughout the area. It caught Fett's attention, forcing a squint of discomfort and an instinctive tensing of his own muscles. That was strange.

In the end, however, Koda had reached the base of the Starship. His gaze fell upon Willow and Mereel as the former was forced off of the Mandalorian Jedi due to his attack. Yet, that wasn't how this ended. The Bounty Hunter began unloading a volley of stun bolts in the direction of the Quarry at point blank-rage the instant his Lightsaber was thrust towards Willow, aiming for the arm that wielded the Lightsaber first, but then rapidly squeezing the trigger over the rest of his armoured figure- leaving hardly any, if not no time to react. If he wasn't to be immobilised before, maybe this would do the trick. It might've appeared to be rather strange once the Mandalorian snatched forwards at Mereel with the intention on dragging him onto the ship with it's ramp lowered.

The missiles seemed to hit his foe [member="HK-36"] more than him. They seemed to be send back towards [member="Koda Fett"]. KR-1's attack on the mandalorian bounty hunter had apparently done nothing to slow the man down. The droid had said he was here to help to. Tom was starting to get confused as to who was on whos side. "Then why did you gloat over [member="Mereel Vaun"] then." Tom was so confused.

Then [member="Julian Valentine"] seemed to scream about one of his men dying. They had been hit by the cart [member="Seo Linn"] had thrown. The man then shot the poor woman and threw a grenade of some kind. It turned out to be a flash bang which even made Tom's ears ring a little bit in his armour. So it looked like she was out of the fight.

Blaster bolts the came at him so he shifted the ground up to give himself his cover from them. His astromech had been missed for the most part by everyone amazingly. It however saw it's master being shot at by [member="Bishop - Solus Buruk Jag"]. So it sunk up behind him used it's blaster cannon it fired 20 shots and 2 shots from it's flechtte launcher if nothing else it would hurt and make the man think twice.

Koda amazingly used his jet pack to get himself to Mereel. Avoiding everything else going on and somehow ignoring the droid being near him. As soon as Fett landed Tom turned the ground around him into quicksand, he would do what he had done anyways but now the ground would try to swallow him, much in the same way he had heard Boba had gone out in sand. Except it was duracrete and it was trying to pull him in. All of him as tendrils of it began trying to make their way up his armour.

Seo went down in a flash of light as the stun grenade erupted on impact. The burst of energy caused a blue light to explode outwards as the concussive force of the grenade followed, blinding and dazing Seo. There was blood and the shattergun had struck true. He would bag her later, he had other threats to handle now. He spun about to assess the situation.

The droid had landed in-between him and Mereel and was moving to engage Willow. Julian moved to intercept but it wasn't quick enough. Mereel ignited his blade backwards and into Willow's torso. She grunted but made no other noise as she continued to choke him, then HK struck with the stun baton. The electrical currents coursed through the conductive metals within the HRD and into Mereels armor, the armor itself a conductor for electricity.

The baton was wedged inside Willow and there was the sound of sparks as she was fried alive. She twitched and as she did the lightsaber only cut further into her. She let go of Mereel and stood back, the lightsaber dragging through flesh and metal, cleaving its way through her torso and out her hip. "J-j-ju-julian.." she said and fell backwards with a mighty thud. Smoke coming out of her carcass as the final snaps of electricity left her body.

Time froze for a moment. Julian looked about. Yee lay unconcious, his body broken, just a kid.. and Willow, his loyal companion for years, destroyed. In one hunt his life had just been torn asunder. His mind could not fathom what was happening as he took precious seconds to understand what was going on around him. Where had all these people come from, how could this plan have gone so badly? Then he snapped back to reality with a cold and deadly resolve.

"Koda," he said down his commlink, muting his external audio projectors on his helmet, "Get Mereel to the ship. I'll hold them off." It wasn't a suggestion, it wasn't a request, it was an order. He took a step forward, looking from Willows smoking, lifeless body and to HK, the perpetrator. "Go for the chest," Julian gave the verbal command, his eyes darting across the HUD of his helmet as the Jaeger Huckleberry holsters locked onto HK.

"Boltz, once Koda has the target on the ship, don't wait for me, go," he said over the commlink. He had no intention of leaving this spacedock without extracting cruel justice for his companions. Julian blinked and the HG-54 handcannons at his hips opened fire, unloading their entire payload towards HK's chest. Sixty pellets at supersonic speeds. The sheer impact of them could cause micro-explosions as the heat of the kinetic energy given off caused the very oxygen in the air to ignite. The kinetic output of the pellets on impact could make a target feel like they were just hit by a bullet train.

Koda Fett was one of the best in the business because he was a walking army of one. HK was one of the best because he was impervious to so many attacks, programmed to be lethal in almost all fields of combat. Julian Valentine was neither overly skilled and quasi-invincible nor carrying the payload of an entire battlefield on his belt. He was one of the best bounty hunters because he was tech smart, his choices in firepower, tech and gadgets was to maximize damage or capture and minimize effort.

As the pistols unloaded a continuous fire until they clicked empty, the bounty hunter was reaching for the Inferos rifle slung at his hip. The highly illegal disruptor rifle had been gifted to him by Svel Droma on the Wheel. A limited supply in a closed market mean't it wasn't just excessively expensive but difficult to obtain, and for obvious reasons. Like Koda's payload and HK's skill, it was hyper-lethal.

Julian heard the loading ramp of his freighter slap against the ground and the engines started. Koda was making a move for Mereel. Willow was dead and Yee was unconscious. Julian knew there was no safe way of getting both Willow and Yee back to the ship and to keep everyone else at bay. Koda would have to take Mereel and leave without him. He couldn't leave Willow or Yee behind. There was still some honour among thieves in this world.

Although he was still being choked at the time, Mereel's spirits lifted when he saw [member="Auri Vesta"] enter the hangar bay. The two went way back, robbing banks way back. He didn't have time to wave at Auri though, as something completely ridiculous swiftly followed her entrance into the chamber.

Electricity surged through the woman and into his armor. He hadn't stopped to consider why he hadn't sensed her in the force before now, but now as rippling pain cascaded throughout each and every cell of his body he knew why all too well. The 'woman' was actually a droid, and since he didn't see [member="HK-36"] land behind him, Mereel assumed it had decided to electrocute him with some kind of built-in defense mechanism.

The pain was excruciating, but brief. The lightsaber hilt in his hand stopped going against the friction of the blade that had been cutting through metal and synthflesh, and as soon as the droid's hands were off of his neck, Mereel's still ignited lightsaber fell to the ground and rolled across the hangar floor.

By the time [member="Koda Fett"] landed in front of him, Mereel was on both knees just barely managing to keep himself from falling flat on his face.

He had always been more man than space wizard, relying on his armor to make up for his weaknesses in the force. As the Mandalorian bounty hunter in front of him began unloading stun round after stun round across his armor, Mereel had no force abilities to conjure up to absorb the energy of the shots or revitalize his body, and his armor weapon systems had been disabled from the onset of the fight.

The only thing that Mereel had had going for him this entire time was the fact that he had a bunch of friends and acquaintances in this room, some of which still hadn't made an appearance yet. He would've liked to pretend that he wasn't used to relying on others, but what was transpiring now was almost identical to oh so many occasions he had been through before, some even being with the smuggler who had just entered the hangar.

As Mereel's helmeted head collided with the floor, he was teetering on the edge of anger, grief, and unconsciousness. His father may have put the bounty out on his head, but even Detrik, scumbag that he was, couldn't have possibly imagined that so many other people could have been caught up in trying to defend his runaway kid.

Mereel knew this would happen eventually. He had known since he had left home all those years ago that Detrik would eventually send out someone to search for his sole surviving son, but he had gotten too comfortable with his situation. He had assumed that he could run off to train himself in preparation for defeating the man, originally as a bounty hunter and then going so far so to join up with the Jedi. He had initially done it all just to make himself stronger for when he eventually returned home. His own selfishness was either the direct or indirect cause of the wounds of every injured person in this hangar.

The worst part of it was that he couldn't even tell the people there defending him to leave. The volley of stun bolts left him too weak to even speak. His vision faded to black and he slipped out of consciousness.

The Mandalorian was relentless in his pursuit, he always was. It never faded when he sought Veiere Arenais on Rannon, nor did it when he battled against Darlyn Excron in his successful attempt to pluck Lady Kay from her throne world. His reputation existed for a reason, after all. For what reason he partook in this trade other than 'it was available' was unknown to anyone, and at times Fett even asked himself the very same question. Assassinations could of worked, as could of enlisting right back within an army. The truth of the matter, however, is that regardless of what Fett believes he decided - it was only ever to make a dead man proud. A seemingly impossible task, but as were so many other things in this harsh and unforgiving Galaxy.

Fett's finger fell off the Carbine's trigger as his victim dropped to the floor, fading out of consciousness. Yet, at the same time the ground beneath him turned into some sense of quicksand. Quicksand, despite being deadly among those ill-equipped, was easily avoidable by those who wore a Jetpack. A brief, singular burst of the device thrust him forwards (but not without tension), not high into the air but just horizontally across. It was right beyond Vaun in which he collided with the ramp of the vessel- snatching at the man's armoured collar before dragging him up the metallic ramp and into the confines of the vessel.

Everyone appeared to be busy, fighting battles of their own. Julian made that sacrifice to take on HK with a vicious amount of deadly rounds, potentially losing his crewmate, his ship, and even his cut. That is what happened when you had connections, relations. Fett was alone, perhaps even lonely at times but his struggle was never this. Morality was cut and dry, and it was only ever his own ever mattered.

Boltz had his orders, and Valentine tried to give them to Fett- fortunately they were precisely what he had planned. Suppose they might just think alike. As the Bounty Hunter and the Bounty itself were situated upon the loading ramp, it began to raise and with haste the engines thrummed to life. They weren't going to be here much longer, with or without Valentine.

Auri Vesta

Captain of the Rimrunner
"Chit, they're getting away!" Auri said to no one in particular. She still didn't even know who was on her side at the moment, all she knew was that she needed to intercept that ship.

She ran from out of cover, sprinting past the girl downed by the stun grenade. She smelt like burning flesh, yuck. The ship was feet off the ground now and rising, using its slow repulsors to gain a bit of altitude before letting the sublight engines do the rest. She had an idea of what she was going to do, in fact she'd modified her blasters for a moment such as this. She'd never seriously expected to use them though, it had just sounded like a fun mod to tinker with at the time.

Her goal, was to fly under the radar of the other combatants while she jacked a ride on that modified KR-TB.

Shouldn't be too hard, I'm hardly the biggest colo-clawfish to fry. I give the honors to meat-droid if I was looking for a fight. That guy's scary as kark!

"Coming through!" She booked it past the man with the weird hammer-head helmet who was firing at the organic-droid hybrid, who was using the long-lifeless body of an android woman as a human shield. These guys were even more bizarre up close.

The droid was faster than her, it leaped into the ship just as the boarding ramp sealed, luckily she hadn't planned on using the boarding ramp in the first place.

As she ran she fiddled with the side-lever on her blaster, took aim, and fired into the underside of the ship. Instead of an azure streak of plasma, a mechanism attached to the underside of the pistol's barrel shot out a thin, maranium-desh cable with a piercing claw on the end that sunk into the ship's hull. Auri had been planning to then hook the blaster onto her combat harness for an easy ride, but as the ship accelerated there was no time as she was dragged forward, sliding across the floor of the hangar.

"Hey, woah! Pilot! Watch out for the crates!" She yelled, barely swinging away to the left before she would have had a head-on collision. Auri did her best to try and reel in the cable, but it wasn't easy as it relied on constant pressure from her thumb on the switch on the cable mechanism. Apparently that was difficult to do when you were being dragged across a hangar bay, learned something new every day. She finally managed to reel herself in enough to get her boots off the ground, the soles of which had begun to steam from the excessive friction against them. And then she was swinging from the hull, hanging on for dear life as the ship continued its ascent.

"Okay, what the hell do I do now?" She asked herself. Auri hadn't thought this far ahead, normally her plans were improvised on the spot.

Bishop ducked behind the container, as a hail of blaster fire, followed by 2 flechete blasts were directed at him. Waiting until it stopped, he peaked around the corner, seeing it was an astromech droid. "Vicious little narf". but whoever did, needed to go. With his right pistol, he fired off some shots, drawing any more fire if there was any. he then swiveled back around, heading towards the end he dove behind. His weapons were hot, and getting low on ammo, so after quickly reloading. He jumped up onto the container, and proceeded to fire at the astromech droid.... "what the..-" Only to see the droid was loading into a ship with the jedi, followed closely behind by the droid and several other hunters. "You're kidding me....".

["I'd advise catching up before they escape"], "Ideally-". Bishop quickly holstered, and dropped down, and proceeded to sprint faster in mandalorian armor than really any other person he knew would've been able to. However, the ship had already taken off, and was gaining distance away from him. ["How do you expect to board"] the droid asked, as the ramp was half closed, "CREATIVELY". he then shot the same grapple he used to scale the wall... at one of the still extended landing gear of the ship. Retracting the cord, he felt the gauntlet grow hot as the mechanics strained from both his pulling, and pulling the weight of a fully grown man up. Finally, he reached one of the landing gear, just as the droid had jumped in, along with the woman at the gate. 'This is the dumbest thing you've done. In a long time'.

["SIR. HOW DO YOU EXPECT TO ENTER"]. Bishop quickly took a device out of his belt, a compact, yet long range tracker. He placed it on the inside of the ship where the landing gear pulled into. "....Creatively". With that, he pulled himself up and into the transport as it's landing gear retracted inwards. ["This is incredibly dangerous"]. "No doubt.... but while working on our ship, I noticed something", ["That is?"]. "These small transports. To support their weight and the heat they generate, they need a fool proof ventilation system". He switched on his helmet's lamp, the area inside was cramped.... but he gazed ahead at decently sized air duct. "So they make everything down here much more roomy". He shuffled ahead, taking out a multitool and undoing the bolts of the vent cover. As he took the cover off, he could hear the sounds of fighting coming from the right. "Wait until we head into orbit-", ["You're already heading into orbit "], "Then bring the ship around and tail us...Something tells me this trip is going to be interesting". After heading inside, he headed inside of the vent towards the sounds of the commotion. Something told him it'd lead him to his Jedi.

The stun from the grenade lasted only a few minutes luckily and as a child Seo had grown up in harsh conditions. Yes, her leg hurt, but that pain needed to worked through and moved past.

When she had been stunned it wasn't far from the ship. With a small burst of speed enhanced by the Force, Seo pursued Mereel, Koda and HK into the ship. Making it with a second to spare, she did not have much time to think about the choice she made. Would she be facing two enemies or one?

Her objective now was to stay with Mereel at all costs. Inside the darker bulk of the ship, she would likely be noticed quickly. A benefit though was surprise, they probably did not suspect she would come out of that stun so quickly. Even if they did, she had been shot in the leg. When everything was said and done, there would be a scar there to tell tales about.

Even if Seo wanted to make some sort of sound, she remained almost silent. The only sound that might be heard would have been her coming onto the ship. Such was the way of her people. At times they made great assassins, that was not her calling though and had decided on making herself into more or less an investigator. Before that though, she was a Jedi. Mereel was a friend, companion and currently somebody that needed help.

Stepping up to the challenge, Seo observed what was happening between the three of them and hoped Mereel wasn't going to get squished by that droid. One thing she had not yet done was draw her weapon during the encounter and unless her hand was forced, she wouldn't. Looking between Koda and HK, she leaned against the wall to help take some weight off her injured leg and spoke to them both.

"Let go of Mereel so I can make sure he's alive. It is obvious there is no easy escape from this vessel now. We won't be going anywhere."

A woman of few words, but they were picked carefully when she did speak.

Tom watched as [member="Koda Fett"] somehow jet jumped out of the quicksand. As he did so he dragged [member="Mereel Vaun"] up the ramp. Tom watched them go as [member="HK-36"] jumped aboard the ship as well past his quicksand as well. Even [member="Seo Linn"] seemed to disappear on board the ship. It was strange everyone wanted to be aboard that ship all of the sudden. Tom couldn't help but just watch it seemed strange to him.

KR-1 was shot at they hadn't made him happy and he was going to shot again when the hunter suddenly ran off past his master through quicksand his master had made and grapple hooked the edge of the ship. He also watched as [member="Auri Vesta"] ran to another ship obviously trying to follow the group. He gave a few annoyed beeps at it before finding Tom Taff again and bleeping at him for a while.

Tom sighed finishing up his power as the Duracrete returned to normal from quicksand and the piece in front of him feel back to the floor. He looked at the only hunter left. [member="Julian Valentine"], it looked to him like the man was unwilling to leave his comrades corpses behind. Tom sighed again deactivating his lightsabres, he then looked at the man and simply said "I mourn your dead, may the skies look favourably upon you and your feet find the ground. They didn't deserve what they got and for that I am sorry." Tom would then turn and have KR-1 follow him back to his ship. He could still feel mereel and he knew he could catch up to the ship before long. He jumped in his fighter and began the chase.

Mereel slowly blinked several times to get the haze out of his eyes.

On his third and last blink, he suddenly recalled the situation he had been in moments before, and he willed his hands to move for his blaster pistols... except they didn't move at all. His muscles refused to move to the wishes of his mind.

The first thing he saw were the boots of [member="Koda Fett"], but some unknown pressure was clamping down on his back.

Well, this is bad, but they haven't killed me at least. I wanted to go back home eventually anyway.. I'll just have to make do with what I've got left whenever I get there.

He was done fighting it. This confrontation would happen in the end anyway. The only things that really mattered to him was getting there and that his friends helping him stopped becoming injured on his behalf.

"Let go of Mereel so I can make sure he's alive. It is obvious there is no easy escape from this vessel now. We won't be going anywhere."

Oh fierfek. This could have all been over with that mando punk dragging me off. That would've been too easy though, wouldn't it?

"I'm fine. And I don't mean to sound like an ingrate, but part of me really wishes you would have just walked away from this. This isn't something worth risking your own skin over." He muttered from his position on the floor.

"And for the love of the force, please stop stunning me, I can't move my kriffing arms or legs anyway."
