"The spice wasn't the worse thing but we won't go into that... so once I became a jedi I dedicated myself to it and I will do all that I can to make sure others have the chance." She said it while looking at her and giving a small look. "DOn't worry, the Atrisians are good people and don't judge much in terms of a past... plus if there was a danger their Dreamguard would be upon you.. they are the ones assigned to track potential offworld threats to the Commonwealth." It was a little government monitoring but it also served to handle problems and potential problems that came from outsiders. "And you don't have to worry so much about being strong... just be yourself. The rest will come with time."

The pep talk was something Xian needed to hear. Only a handful of people had ever accepted her for who and what she was; Noriko was one of them, and she was grateful for that.

"Was it the Dreamguard that got me up on station?"

It probably wasn't the Dreamguard, but the uncertainty gnawed at the teen. She craved the knowledge, the clarification. Petty theft was beneath their notice, and stealing candy certainly wasn't a threat to the Commonwealth.

"Why shouldn't I worry about being strong? The weak don't survive in the Galaxy."

"The dreamguard rarely interact so it is unlikely and strength is important but if all you want to do is be strong... what are you going to use that strength for? And how long before that strength goes from being defensive and safe to oppressive?" She said it while she was looking at the girl with a questioning look on her face. "I know you want to ask questions and get answers but sometimes you just need to breathe and allow the force to guide you... to allow the world to unfold around us." SHe said it and just sat there stretching. "You have all the time in the world to ask questions and seek the answers... but there is something nice to be said about getting to just relax your mind and body."

The teen let out a sigh of relief when Noriko assured her the Dreamguard wouldn't come and find her for stealing. Giving her a dirty look, she crossed her arms and started sulking a little.

"I want to be strong, so I'm not weak. Right now, anybody can trample me. I'm not strong enough to stand up to anything or anybody. Probably never will be either."

Curling her upper lip as Noriko told her to sit and allow things to happen, she did it but continued to sulk.

Her eyes looked at the girl and she listened to what she was saying. "You'll get stronger.... train, eat your vitamins, drink your milk and say your prayers to the force for some muscle and one day you will be a jedi muscle mommy." She said it as a joke and looking at the sulking... sitting girl she just offered an arm over her shoulder. "You want things.. we all do... just take it a day at a time... allow the force to guide you even if you do not know that it is. You might have lost a master in Sor-Jan but you found me, you might have found a place here if you want it. You have gotten a lot.. you have a saber now and robes.... there is also the chance the chance mind you that I like you enough to let you use my ship for traveling around."

The attempts Noriko was making to cheer the teen up started working, even if Xian continued to look a little sulky. What the Master said made sense to the young woman, even if she didn't want to admit it fully. Leaning to the other Jedi, she returned the light hug and then pulled away when the lightsaber and clothes were mentioned. With a quick change of attitude, she smiled at her friend.

"Will I learn how to fly it?"

That was something Xian never expected. All of her life, she had only used public transport or hitched rides, never thinking she might be able to fly a ship. Maybe she could even get her own someday.

"Easily, it has an AAI to help and fix mistakes... which is why I rarely need to actually fly manually." THough she totally could... she just didn't. A smile on her face so that she would be able to show her how to fly if it came to it... the AI would help make sure it was much much better though. "But that is for another time... we have the rest of the day. What is it that you would like to do padawan?" She said it with a look on her face but she was prepared for a whole lot more.. they would be able to do a few things... before returning to either the ship or the temple itself to sleep and eat. "We'll work up an appetite and then get some more food."

A look of awe crossed Xian's face when Noriko said she rarely needed to fly. She couldn't help but nod eagerly when Noriko said any flying would happen later.

"How about not getting into trouble?"

She smiled and hoped the other woman would know she was joking. Well, seriously, she didn't want to get into trouble, but she couldn't think of anything else. Then she remembered something.

"How about visiting the horse people?"

She gave a nod to that... not saying if it was a good idea aor a bad on the trouble part but the horselords of Atrisia were always important. "I like the way you think... they would be a great group to meet and introducing you to them well... you haven't lived until you sat on a longma... massive and can't be to the ground but well well worth it and the riders are highly skilled." She said it while rising up and thinking about the best way to go about it... well the easier one was there as she pointed up towards one of the winding branches of the tree that they were on... the massive valley filled with smaller airships. "IT will take a little while but." SHe said it and moved up the large pathway towards the airship as it had plenty of space for the people to sit or stand... able to rise up and go out of the valley and over the mountains.

Smiling with some internal happiness, the teen stood up when Noriko did and started to follow her. She spun around a little and just enjoyed the movement of her new clothes and the feel of the lightsaber on her hip. Listening to the other woman, Xian was still confused about what a longma was. She wanted to meet the horse people and learn more about them.

People had told her that patience was a virtue, and when Noriko said it would take a little while, she just nodded. She would learn patience by being patient. The smile never went away as she followed her friend.

"Master Noriko, how long will it take to get the blood test results? Is there a chance I'll have family here I never knew of? Would they accept me?"

Rattling the questions off rapidly, she didn't want to forget anything.

"Well the blood results can be quick usually less then an hour... as for family. You8 never know but there are several Atrisian colonies both now and there were a lot more in the past. The ancient Atrisians spanned thousands of worlds from what little we have managed to learn about them." Noriko said it as she was moving and leaading the way to an airship she went on it as one of the longma was there... massive as it was overtwice her size... long hair with a firked tip and eight legs. The hooves a cloven pad that let it move around quietly even o the metal flooring of the airship... the long tongue coming out as it looked over and around with its rider at its side. Holding reigns when he was almost twice Norikko's size... thickly muscled, ornate hair in twin horns made from braided top knots that were adorned with jewels and feathers. An open cloak of thousands of multicolored feathers.

Her questions were partially answered, but if Xian had considered it, she would have realized that Noriko was treating her like family. This didn't happen, though, and the teen continued feeling like she didn't have family. However, she did follow Noriko to the airship.

It surprised her, and she gawked a lot before climbing on board. She was in even more shock when she saw the eight-legged beast. Letting out an eep, she stopped in her tracks and tried to hide behind the older woman. Her dark eyes peered around Noriko as she shyly took in the sight of the longma and its rider.

Looking at Xian with a grin as she seemed to be hiding from the longma... the massive beast and its rider stopping as he slipped off of the beast. Standing there as he greeted Noriko and she bowed her head. "Is that the little bird?" The voice came out deep and Noriko spoke. "Yes Toth." She said it but looked at Xian who was there as the ramp was brought up. The longma sitting down to lounge there for the moment and she walked over to it. The beast flicking a tongue out but being incredibly happy to see her for the moment. The jedi master though had a small grin. "This is Xian my padawan and friend. We are traveling to show her the planet." That got a look from the larger horselord and he gave a nod of his head before finding a place to sit and rest his hands on his knees as he crossed his legs. "Good, have fun with it.. there is a lot more to see on the world."

Her black eyes peered around Noriko's legs as she spoke to the rider. They looked up at him when he asked if she was the little bird. What that meant, she didn't know, but her confidence wavered, and she remained silent. Clinging to her friend, she was pretty much dragged over to the longma, who greeted Noriko with licks. It seemed happy to see her, though, and it caused the girl to relax a little.

Still not leaving the side of her master entirely, she did take a step away and gawked again at the rider.

"Nice to meet you, sir."

She didn't know what to call him or address him as, so she picked something he should accept.

She looked at Xian with a little sympathy but smiled. "It is alright, Toth is one of the few who leaves the Valley of the Horselords. For trade and to gather information... he is the only publicly known spy gathering intel about everything." She said it with a smile though. "The emperor and the lords and ladies prefer it like that over not knowing what is happening." She said it and the large man gave a nod as he touched his pointed hair. "It is easier, no one knows what we do so they are curious and we share information or as much as they think is important." Noriko offered only a grin while she wrapped an arm around Xian though and the massive creature was there when she moved away. "When I was younger we met and it was interesting. He had never seen a water garden and I didn't know there were that many colored feathers."

"You're a spy?"

Her eyes grew wide as she gawked at Toth. His role was explained to her, and she nodded silently. Xian didn't remain that way, though, and the young teen squeeked when she was face to face with the longma. It still scared her, and she tried to dash behind Noriko again.

"I think it's going to EAT ME!!"

It didn't matter to her that it was friendly to her Master.

"What is a water garden?"

Warily looking at the longma, she kept her eyes on it as she asked the question.

"Yes but it is known... better to have someone whom you can control the information given then a group that are unknown." The man said it while he was walking. "Plus little one, I do a lot more in my travels... I teach some how to ride, how to hunt and these Wukong are skilled but not many of them are practically trained." He said it and Noriko gave a nod of her head when she was looking at Xian and the creature. "I mean there is a chance, they have been known to eat small things... if you feel you need to establish dominance... bite its ear." She said it to be sure and gave a nod of her head. "You just got to show them that you are the boss." But she was moving and standing there to keep Xian safe.
