While the tree had failed to kill the Witch, that had not been Sedita's intent. Rather it had given him a chance to fully cut the link between them and retain his energy while watching the Witch consume the tree. Standing upright, he ignited both of his lightsabers, which were clasped together at the base of each hilt to form a double bladed model. He took a cautious step back and heard the other witch call to him from the other side of the wall.
"Well let's see...before or after your lovely friend here murders me?" Sedita raised his voice over the crackling of thunder and without taking his eyes off of the advancing woman. "I suppose you haven't any intent of letting me leave this place...do you? Nor could anything I say or do change what's about to happen."
The Sith did not sound frightened, more like...resigned. That was how he had been feeling ever since the Witch had finally appeared to him and Sedita had come to realize that even if he had fled she still would have caught him; in fact he doubted that fleeing to another planet or galaxy would put enough distance between himself and her. That was why he stood here now, still with a thin smile and eyes gleaming with excitement...because he had a plan: fight to his last breath and, by some miracle, take this Dathomiri witch with him.
...
He didn't mean that it was a good plan, but it was enough to help Sedita fight down any terror he felt and focus on what might be the shortest and most one sided fight in his entire life.
