The creatures with rather frightening-looking teeth were hungry for prey. Inara hoped that she and her allies would not become their next meal. The roar of a speeder was heard, but she hadn't the time to really process what was coming – as her own focus was very much on the oil-skinned beast that was now warily regarding her. Up ahead, she could see Palm fighting the beasts as well.

The other woman's skilled attack had felled the one Inara had previously injured. But, there were more – two more, in fact. As Palm began to speed down the street, moving at a pace Inara had trouble tracking, the medic took aim to give the diplomat some cover fire if needed. However, the beasts did not take notice until Palm had stopped moving, the speeders did her bidding, strewn in disarray. It was a good idea, cut the enemy off and allow them time to take them out.

Palm's words found her, through the force – a sensation she was still unused to. But there was little time to dwell on that fact now. Inara nodded to acknowledge her instructions.

Inara squinted into the sight of her rifle and squeezed the trigger, an incendiary round burst into flames as it hit its mark – the back of one of the oil-skinned beasts. Then another and another, her slugs found their mark, burring themselves deep into the flesh of the beast; it fell onto the street. As she glanced over her shoulder, the flurry of moment caught her eyes – a woman spinning, powerful and intimidating, about to throw part of her broken speeder.

Palm!” Inara yelled, her voice nearly lost over the din of battle. But she couldn't use the force to say it like the others could. With any hope, her ally would be able to get out of the way in time. Moving towards the barricade of speeders, Inara leveled her rifle again to draw the beast's attention away from Palm – long enough for the other woman to recover if needed.

The battle between the Sith forces and those of the Concord raged on at full. The comms started to fill with chatter about friendly fire and an Concord fighters started to go down at an alarming rate. It took way too long before they had it figured out - the Imperials were capturing the anti-aircraft batteries. The battle for the skies was looking utterly grim for the light sided forces. Things seemed grim on the ground in the city too - but the scales were still far more balanced there.

As soon as his blade had cut the speeder, Mathieu turned around in pursuit of the attacking woman. Only when she stood up from her crashed speeder did he realise how large she was. While the former Mercenary had plenty of strength to draw from on his own, he knew that the opponent's height gave her quite the advantage already - especially when she carried the spear. Still, he begun running toward her, fully prepared to hop aside once she threw the speeder at him.

Many things happened at once. Peripherally, he saw how Inara dealt with one of the beasts, displaying some adept marksmanship while at it. He also saw his former mentor deal with another one a bit away. "Palm!" he screamed, surprised to see that the vehicle was hurled towards her instead of him. It barely slowed down his charge, however.

Suddenly, the skies filled with blue lights. The Concord artillery had fired off a salvo of ion shells which lit up the skies. The risk of causing death was only high near the direct point of impact. Just as Mathieu arrived close by Jocelyn to swing at her diagonally from the bottom up, the blue lights disappeared behind the many buildings nearby.

If she brought up her own blade to defend against the attack, the two weapons would clash just as numerous impacts could be heard at once. Many of the overtaken anti-aircraft guns went silent and it was likely that a fair number of the soldiers crewing them had perished too. It gave the defending fighters above the city some respite and at least a chance to recover.

To say this was not his favorite world was an understatement. But they were needing the Jedi help and he was not going to start to sully the Jedi name that way. As he moved forward with some of the troopers, they prepped their weapons and he grabbed his pistol. The Force was spotty at best, until the fighting started. Coren was assuming the Sith would start to burn the woods away and clear a bubble for the Force. It’d be good for their Knights, but it’d also help Coren and the Jedi who arrived. Working with the ExplorCorps, though, had given a few of his people some bright ideas in how to combat everything going on here.

As he made his way towards a location to get a better eye on the targets, he heard a call from other Mandalorians. “This is Starchaser, reading you. Got some Sith coming towards the City. Got anything planned?” He was hoping it was a Mandalorian, else he just ruined his own presence on the world. Not that it would stay a secret for long. Before he even got to a location in came a call from the Constellation.

“Drake! Good to hear from you. Got a ship or two on the ground, some larger ships to pick up who we can need a place. Patching them into you now.” He said as he found himself some cover, blaster in hand as another blast landed near him.

“The Rift getting too boring and decided to come Core Ward?” He laughed.

Battle Theme: X
More Force Light flashes out into his eyes, blinding him - binding him in strands of physical purity. With a growl of frustration, he raises his weapon as the light wraps around him and aims through the burnt threads of the Force before him. Three blasts - electrical and screeching. Each clatter and dissipate against a solid barrier of energy. The gun is now useless until that barrier drops - he could blast it apart, but he has not the time.

He drops the blaster to the ground as the strings tighten. A subtle, sad clatter against stone and debris resounds in his ears.

Only one response left lest he fall in battle already. Use the gift. Just to escape. Just to regain the advantage. He can only let it out for a moment. A momentary usage. A brief tumble further into the pit. He calls and the shadow answers. Cords of Dragon's Blood-red surge forth from within him, out of his fingertips and palms and chest, blasting the light off of his body and allowing him to fall to the streets below. His knees crack against the pavement, but he stands almost instantly. The pain is temporary. The annoyance is forever.

Desire - sickened desire for the gift - culls his spirit as the power within swells like a boil. She is different than the other Silver Jedi that he has encountered in these city streets. Different than the Antarian Rangers he now dodges as they themselves engage with the Sith Knights and Imperials. Already she had proven that. It makes him furious.

So...furious.

Without a willing desire to do so, Bartholomew roars a grave insult in Abyssin and shunts his hand forward, releasing manifestations of the gift towards the girl and the Antarian Rangers. The Rangers that are hit are flayed to the bone by the resulting cords of green and blue, but not the girl - not her. She will survive. She will resist the bloody and charred damnation her comrades suffer. He knows this - begrudgingly accepts this - and that is what pulls him back down to reality.

Fury dissipates, but the power remains active. He has temporary control. As the cords rush around the barrier's light, they reach for her ankles, intent on throwing her into the air and out of Bartholomew's immediate care. He does not have to kill her, he reminds himself. Someone else can do the job.

Inara's aim was true, and Palm could feel through the Force how the second dark creature withered until its hulking black form came down dead, adding to the pile of disarrayed speeders. It allowed her to focus more on the one that still lived, as well as on her own allies. Guard-shotos at the ready, the geminaie walked with purpose and precise, swift steps, ready to take on the sithspawn that still advanced towards her with bloodlusted intent. But that confrontation would not come to pass.

She first felt it in the Force, that chilling ripple that alerted her of danger. The soll'nav were known for their proficiency at sensing skills, but even if that hadn't been enough, the voice of the ones she was fighting alongside rung loudly even over the background noise of war. Palm felt as though time had slowed down, and suddenly her feet slammed to a full stop, planting her directly in the direction of the rapidly moving speeder that had been thrown her way. But it was not the only thing that was quickly incoming. The sithspawn, who had shown impressive speed, pushed its own pace at seeing its target slow down to a full stop.

Then, it was all about the right timing.

The moment the jaws of the maelridae were ready to close in on her and the speeder a short distance from crashing against her, full force, was when she moved. Pulled past her limits by the Force, Palm stepped out of the way, sabers readjusting their position as she began her own charge towards the head of the snake: Joycelyn herself. Behind her, the speeder collided against the only other body that had been standing in its way, the sithspaw who was unable to change its own direction fast enough to move away.

She did not divert her eyes to look at Mathieu, instead zoning in on the Sith Lady and once again trusting Inara to take care of the vermin that flew around them. Mathieu launched his own attack against the woman, and Palm would reach them a short moment after closing in from Joycelyn's side. It had been the wiser option, for the woman's spear could have easily allowed her to defend her front and back, but this angle would maybe prove more difficult. If not impeded from reaching her target, the guard-shoto on her main hand would aim to slash at the woman's side, her off-hand ready to protect against a potential counter.

Hyperspace collapsed around Reef Home as she entered the Myrkr system. The Mon Calamari vessels reverted near the left flank of the battle outside weapons range. The scene was something of nightmare. The Sith had brought what looked like an entire sector fleet with them if not more. The defending ships had already taken a beating and many were floating husks smoldering and burning off what oxygen was left in their cavernous hulks. Reshmar had only seen most of the massive Sith ships in briefings and special operations recon reports. Here they sat over the work of Myrkr pummeling the forces of the Mandalorian defense group. Mixed among their number a few Silver Fleet elements sat holding for now but it was apparent the battle was one sided and the Sith had the wind.

"What are those..." came the response from one of the sensor operators studying his console. The man immediately sent the data to the holo display as well as sending images to the forward display. Large beings seemed to be appearing from hyperspace near the battle. What they were was not clear, and what their intentions soon became apparent as they began attacking the vessels massed on the edges of the battle zone. The creatures attacked chaotically not preferring which side of the battle they were choosing for their next course. They were intent on devouring any and all things that fell before them. The larger ships seemed to be holding their own against the creatures as their shielding kept the things at bay but smaller vessels were being swallowed by the things.

"Helm steer us clear of those cnidaria creatures. I have seen enough to know these are not friendly. Bring the reserve reactors online and pour all power into our shielding. Until we figure out what these things are and how to effectively engage them, keep our distance. " Reshmar paused to look at the sensor data now coming in and filling in the IFF screen to his left. " Tactical Target what you can but priority is assisting the forces already engaged. They will not win this battle as it stands. Send a fleet-wide transmission, lock onto whatever allied vessel you can with laser comms, and see if we can not get some semblance of organization restored Our objective is to open a hole in that Sith fleet for them to get out of orbit. Myrkr space is lost for now. We will get them out and wait on support from Concordia II to arrive. Tell those commanders that we will open a hole for them. They need to avoid those creatures at all costs. Once we get them organized and out of the path of those Sith ships we will counter-attack." said Reshmar watching to make sure his officers understood what he was ordering. They silently went to attempting to contact the remaining Silver FLeet and Mandolorian vessels relaying Reshmars plan.
Reshmar watched the massive ships of the Sith as well as the newly arrived jellyfish-like creatures with interest. How can he use these creatures? The Silver fleet is being decimated anything he can leverage he will. But how. For now, he would push the thought to the back of his head. He had more important issues.

"We need to fire on targets that can be rapidly affected. We do not need to kill them just get them moving. Target the smaller cruisers and frigates and see if we can not motivate them to look for cover behind one of the bigger destroyers" ordered Reshmar, watching the tactical commander for confirmation. The man nodded and gave an affirmative eye roll them turned to give the order to the gun team commanders. Reshmar watched the battle in the distance then waited as the Reef Home neared weapons range. Reef home was not built for long-range engagements but still retained the six long-range octet turrets. for when the need arose.

"Entering weapons extreme range Admiral." said one of the tactical commanders. Reshmar nodded wordlessly and continued to watch. The long-range assault turbolasers were at their extreme range and would be less effective from this far out. Reshmar knew they would not be accurate but he hoped it was enough to convince some of the Sith to move aside for the Silver ships to move away from Myrkr. As he considered the limited accuracy at such ranges the six turrets came to life. Their protective bulkheads sliding down revealing the eight barreled turrets. As one, the six weapon batteries fired on the smaller ships on the left-hand arc of the Sith formations.

Moon Seo-Yun could only watch in awe as the pilots screening around the gargantuan mass of the Behemoth II took suicidal actions to protect their mothership, with entire squadrons deliberately flying into the line of fire that was heading for the massive vessel, without hesitation or question. Harmony squadron was lucky to have been spared from being given such orders, but it was an open, though often questioned secret within the Sith-Imperial military that suicide orders were typically assigned to underperforming personnel. It was why she had spent so many long hours in study at the academy, whereas many of her peers who had not believed the dark rumors regarding such orders to be true instead opted to occupy their time with other non-academic pursuits. Many of those same peers had often teased her for her ostensibly obsessive study habits, jokes which she had taken in graceful stride but secretly despised.

She couldn’t help but to wonder if those peers were among the squadrons who had been called to sacrifice their lives for the Emperor.

“We have new orders Harmonies!” Harmony One’s voice called out over comms, seemingly unfazed by the suicidal display of the Behemoth II’s pilots. “We’re escorting troop transports down to the surface. Form up on these coordinates!”

From there, Seo-Yun immediately angled her interceptor towards Myrkr, gunning her engines as she sought to catch up to the troop transports that were closing into Myrkr’s atmosphere.

“Bandits ahead! Multiple signatures!” Harmony One called out. “Push to attack speed and keep them away from those transports!”

“Moving to intercept bandit A1!” Seo-Yun said as she designated a target for herself in Harmony squadron’s battle net, who looked to be leading the formation of the enemy craft. Angling her interceptor above and to the right of the bandit in a pure pursuit at relatively close range, Seo-Yun then immediately set a missile lock, but not before directing the dedicating of her power to weapons and engines in anticipation of beginning the engagement on the offensive. However, she maintained a careful modulation of her speed in relation to her target in the hopes of avoiding an overshoot.

Nevertheless, after acquiring a lock, Seo-Yun squeezed the trigger on her left control stick, firing off a single concussion missile from her interceptor’s launcher, which she hoped strike the bandit directly in the fuselage or at least, force them to go on the defensive in order to repel them away from the troop transports.

Heavy footfalls thundered through the halls of the Death of Hope, the dark form of Lirka moving with fell purpose: the ship around her was amuck with activity, but Lirka did not share the fears of the lesser-crewmen: fear was beyond her, this day had been planned for too long to know fear. The Jedi would be too preoccupied with the surrounding war to make any sort of well-formed defense against her sudden and vicious strike.

As the dark figure took her long strides to the hangar bays, statuesque warriors clad in equally baroque plate came to her side, her guardians, those Sephi who had seen the degradation of their people and desired the New Way. Her most cherished tools, figures whose nationalism had turned their hearts nearly as black and rotten as Lirka’s own: the heralds of her new Order, and the new dawn of Thustra itself.

They exchanged no words, for what words was there to say? The day had come, and now they would burn away the rot that had taken foot in their beloved world. A mere nod between the assorted Sephi was all that was needed, they knew the dark deeds that needed to be committed today. Thustra would be a phoenix this day, and from the ashes it would rise ascendant beyond the wildest dreams of any in this puny little Galaxy.

Great gunships ferried in Lirka’s chosen, black armored warriors that walked as some imperialized mockery of the Mandalorian people: they were her newest achievement and whilst their lives held little value in her heart, their use on the field could not be denied. With hisses and clanks their heavily armored forms were locked into racks beneath the gunship: ready for their brutally efficient deployments. Unfortunately, Lirka lacked such airborne grace and her and her sworn warriors were stuck thundering into one of the non-modified gunships. As the landing craft of the empire hummed into life, their engines burning as they lifted to the sky: a bellow echoed through the Imperial invasion force, the cry to war, the cry to carnage unleashed.

“Thustra eiraelal! Shes si vyr eirdae!”

And with that cry a horde of landing craft, drop-ships, and gunships streaked down to the planet below like a billowing horde of locusts: but Lirka knew the Sephi well enough, even if it had been so long since she had stepped foot on her homeworld: a Sephi whom believed their home in endanger would fight with a ferocity matched by the fiercest of wild hounds. And Lirka was counting on it. Those who would stand in the way of progress could not be allowed to taint their world any longer.

But maybe she did not know them well enough. As the first craft touched down across the planet, sending out hundreds upon hundreds of Legionnaires and their armored support onto Thustra’s soil an update reached her ear: the machinations of Sakadi Marathi Sinvala Sakadi Marathi Sinvala and the SJC to evacuate her planet could not stand, and brought forth a bellowing howl over the open comms: for all to hear the first decree of the True Queen.

“None shall leave this planet without my permission!”

And as if in retort, defensive systems shot fire to the sky: a beam of energy arcing through the air as it cut through the landing craft, leaving one of it’s engines smoulder, the vessel careened to one side before landing to the earth with a thunder. Just one of many thunderclaps in the storm, for the storm of war raged across Thustra now. Lirka relished in the carnage, even on this most sacred of worlds. But it mattered not, these little battles that peppered her world. No. Lirka’s eyes were set on one thing.

The Palace.

That which she had once dubbed home.

That which held her throne, held by an imposter-ruler.

It left her blood boiling. But they would not stop her, even as the vessels around her burst into shrapnel and flames: the Dark would watch over her, the Dark would guide her. They were one. And the ethereal power of the end of all things could accomplish any goal. As the gunships streaked through the sky, missiles screamed from their launchers: letting explosions pock over an elaborate and masterwork spire that reached high into the sky, it didn’t last long, and soon with a groan and a crumble of stone the thing went tumbling down into the battlefield below: crushing both defender and attacker alike, they darted through it’s wreckage as the looming and grandiose thing that was the Royal Palace of Thustra showed itself. The sunlight and splashes of color from warfare bounced off great nearly mirror-like structures that jutted from it’s top.

Lirka’s clawed finger pointed towards the structure, even after over a century, she knew it like the back of her hand. She could never forget home.

“There.”

One of the main landing pads, and whilst well defended it would lead her directly into the inner sanctum: but things were never so easy, AA fire shot into the sky and turned one of the nearby gunships into a fireball; Lirka was prepared for such things, and around her jet-packed armed warriors took to the sky, leaping from the racks in the other gunships they moved with the crude grace of the Mandalorians, twirling through the sky as their weapons turned on those automated cannons. It was enough to keep them occupied enough for Lirka’s craft to set down with a thud, the True Queen stepping out into the sunlight of Thustra for the first time in so, so many years. Eyes glazed over the landing bay and it’s thin walkways, and a rush of nostalgia took over her unnatural form.

This was where it had been, her first taste of murder.

A child, young, helpless and afraid, calling upon powers she did not quite understand: back when the Force had still flowed readily through Lirka’s veins, and with that one pushed she had set the course to this new, glorious, damnation. She let the unfiltered air of this world rush into her nose, it was exhilarating.

She was home, after nearly a century and half, Lirka Ka was home.

There was a panic breaking out on the streets, or at least that's what it sounded like. It was mid afternoon when Ashi rose from her simple bed mat, her eyes heavy with sleep, a consequence of her late night habits. The rickety housing that she had been calling home for the last few days shook, as particles of dirt fell down from up above; sprinkling the room in a thin layer of earth. Scowling, she rose from her bed, moving to the small window of her flat, and peered through. The sight the welcomed her made her do a double take, as Sith troops were in the middle of attacking the planet. The thoughts of sleep vanished, as she made ready, drawing her tunic and cloak, and ensuring her straw hat was placed upon her head. It was going to be a long day, one that she had spent much of her life preparing for. Collecting her three blades, and fastening her shoes, Ashi moved to the window, looking out upon the city that was under siege, and leapt out to rescue it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MOOD

Something about this place reminded her of home, which certainly wasn't a good comparison. Ashi approached the first group of Troops she found, her smoking pipe still in her mouth as she puffed on it, her steps silent and equally paced as she neared her first combatants for the day. There were six of them apparently rounding up a group of civilians for force only knows what reasons; it certainly couldn't have been good. Two of the men seemed to be frisking the captives before them, which appeared to be a young family of Selphi's. The other four seemed to be in the midst of talking, which was about to go poorly for them. Taking in a draw of her pipe, Ashi shifted her jaw, moving the pipe with the tip of her tongue, as she re-positioned it so her deceleration to the troops before her. "Sith Invaders, lay down your arms and leave in peace, for you stand before Jedi Master Ashi, Breaker of Wind." Set her right hand onto the hilt of one of her blades, Ashi watched the pair of soldiers turn to face her, their heads turning to one another as if they were confused as to who there were facing. "Breaker of Wind? What kind of stupid name is that?" One of the soldiers asked, pointing his rifle towards the master, though she remained unshaken. Reaching out with the force, Ashi could feel the tension in the air, the rising torrent of stress being put onto the beings before her, as the master got a read on just who she was facing. "Make another step and we will blast you into next week, grandma."

They were rookies, eager for combat, their warriors spirit had not yet been tempered by noble blood. Ashi would see that fixed. Taking in another puff of her pipe, she took one step forward. That grandma comment was going to cost them. Drawing the blade with her right hand, she moved, side stepping past the first blaster bolt that sailed her way, and rewarding the first attacker with the severing of his arm. She spun around, her left hand freeing the second blade on her hip, as she loosed it towards the next man aiming up a shot. Giving it an extra shove with the force, the blade sailed through the air, slamming into the man's chest and puncturing deep into his chest cavity. Before his body had hit the ground, Ashi leapt to soldier number three, bringing the blade down and into his shoulder, stabbing into the ribs of the solider. She felt the body give, unconsciousness taking hold of him, and flipping towards the forth attacker as a response. He was more prepared, loosing a shot as she entered her second flip, only to watch in horror as Ashi raised the blade and knocked it away. Landing on her feet, she came down hard with the pommel of her blade, smashing it upon the dome of the forth man, breaking the helmet and rendering him unconscious as a result. The fifth man went for a grenade, the 'ping' of the pin being pulled caught Ashi's attention, as the jedi turned to find the man running, flinging the small device towards her as he did so. Fool. Taking the time to seethe her sword, Ashi reached out, forming a pocket of air around the explosive as it was in mid fall, and held it there as it harmless exploded. Armed with a new weapon, she took the fragments intended for her, and directed it towards the man who had caused them; there was only one man left. Reaching out with her left hand, Ashi retrieved her second blade, as her attention fixated on the last man of the squad of six. The one who had referred to her as grandma. Her blade was still dripping with the blood of his comrades, and she could see his trembling legs from here. "So, if you are done trading insults, perhaps we can barter. Information for your life, yes?" She inquired, stepping forward towards the man, though he tried in vain to retreat. Ashi looked to the family, giving the slightest of nods for them to leave. There was no need for the children to witness any more bloodshed here.

After a rather...tense conversation, Ashi would get the information she desired. Taking advantage of a near by Orbak stable, Ashi set her path towards the palace, hoping that maybe she could make it in time.

If she only knew what awaited her there, Ashi might not have gone alone.

The incessantly discordant pounding of artillery shells quickly overwhelmed the formations of Blackblade and Dark Legion soldiers, forcing many into a retreat as they sought to regroup into smaller formations so that they were less vulnerable to the bombardments. All the while, Kytana held firm in position, knowing that she needed to stay in position in order to cover the retreat of her allies with her rifle, preventing the enemy from taking shots-of-opportunity in the process. Fortunately, her first shot took out what ostensibly appeared to be a forward observer, rather than a machine gunner as she had initially thought. The kill would hopefully have a negative effect on the accuracy of the bombardments for the time being, but she nonetheless held her eyes peeled for more targets.

Unfortunately, her second shot missed, the projectile whizzing just over the head of her target as the man threw himself behind the relative safety of cover with milliseconds to spare. Kytana let out a groan of frustration, giving a savage hiss as she held her scope over the area, waiting for the soldier to pop his head out for her to shoot. However, the man came up in a different location, just out of her sights, his weapon raised and ready to fire.

Almost before Kytana realized the danger, multiple superheated projectiles zipped towards her position, striking her once, then twice in the chest. An energy arrow struck her in the thigh as well, going off in a fiery plasma explosion that singed her skin beneath the armor, causing the plating and the burn inflicted by the plasma to visibly smoke. Her rifle slipped from her hands as she was struck, the shock of the impacts causing her to grunt out in pain as the stricken areas throbbed in response to the force and heat of the strikes. Fortunately, the diminutive sniper's chief saving grace was the beskar in her armor, which had been mined from New Gratos in seemingly endless quantities and distributed amongst the the Graug warriors of the Dark Legion, in addition to the Sith-Imperial military. The waterweave underlay deflected most of the kinetic force as well, sparing her from more severe injury beyond bruising and mild internal trauma, of which adrenaline seemed to cover for the moment.

Nevertheless, it could not have been more obvious that her position was compromised. However, not wanting to leave her rifle behind, Kytana activated her energy shield and moved to pick the weapon up before retreating back towards another position, limping as she did before diving behind concealment in a nearby brush and placing her body behind the relative cover of a tree.

Amidst it all, the Dark Legion and the Blackblade Guard began a renewed assault on the lines of the Jedi and the Mandalorians, in spite of the endless barrage of artillery striking from the heavens above.

Kytana was compelled to support them.

All while the devestating space battle was going on in the far distance, with massive broadside rounds lighting up the otherwise dark and silent background of space, the large amount of landingcrafts that appeared on Horizon Leader's and the other pilots HUDs was remarkable. The Sith Empire had realy charged them with everything it seemed, letting loose all of the evil and hate that the Sith forces was built upon, according to the academy and the Silver's alike. They engaged their flagships and simultaneously set in motion a invasion company against the planet. It was their, Horizon Squadron's, job to be the first to intercept them.

Kathryn opened the command frequency of the comms and broadcasted their location and their intent. ''Silver Jedi Command - Horizon Squadron have detected a large enemy landing party heading for the planets surface. We'll intercept and neutralise, hopefully fending them off from reaching the planet. Horizon Leader, out!'' Broadcast being sent, Kathryn continued leading the squadron of T-77's in a v formation straight to the landing party. Commencing radio silence within the squadron, they aimed to make for a swift and sudden appearence behind and to the right of the Sith forces trying to reach Myrkr's surface.

Being in the lead of the squadron, she took the first shots of lasers along with her wingman; Horizon Two. The landing spacecraft exposed at the rear went up in a fireball and an explosion that definately got the rest of the landing party to realise that they had turned into a prey.

''ABORT! SPLIT UP!'' her voice shouted over the intercoms, the violent beeping and red flashing of the missile warning system sending a cruel and distressing chill down her spine. The squadron split up in groups of two, and the well-trained duo of colonel Foster and her wingman instantly made another defensive split, to make it more difficult for their attacker to pursuit and locate them both. Their first step would be to try to achieve a neutral position, wanting to stay in the defensive position that they now found themselves in for as short time as possible.

This would be exactly that kind of maneuver that would get her old instructors to tear their hair in frustration, she thought, and redistributed the power to the deflector shield at full charge before she brought the fighter into a split-s. Slamming the throttle forward, she headed straight into the rear and in between the landing party in hopes of the missile changing spacecraft to lock onto. All while Horizon Two had gone around, trying to re-locate the bandit and was now heading with full speed to aid his squadron leader. If being able to catch up, he would try to get a lock onto it to launch a homing proton torpedo.

Well, if Finley was going to be jumped by the Sith it might as well be at the Vegemite Temple.

It wasn't a temple really, but a bustling military base, a towering monolith stretching high above the canopy, staffed by tens of thousands of soldiers, war droids, and other personnel. Fighters and drones buzzed around the complex like a horde of angry drones, while heavy automated walkers stalked the grounds. There was even a dedicated carrier! The temple existed in stark contrast to the Silver Rest, a monastery built for learning and healing.

The Vegemite obsession with yeast extract was ludicrous, but their dedication as warriors could not be questioned.

Armor and weapons now retrieved from the Moonshine, Finley tagged along with the Mandalorian he had met earlier, who he came to know as Jayce. In true Mandalorian fashion, Jayce had reappeared with an oversized rotary cannon that he looked like he had just ripped off a gunship, connected to his armor by a harness and third robotic arm for support.

Finley whistled. "Planning on hunting Star Destroyers with that?"

Jayce chuckled, his laugh carrying a metallic ring from his vocalizer. "You like that, huh?" The Mandalorian then took stock of Finley's kit. "You're not exactly packing light, either. Jedi use guns now?"

"I do. Picked up some tricks in the Explorer Corps."

In the fringes where the nearest friendly ship may be tens of thousands of light-years away, even a stubborn Jedi learned to adapt.

"Picked up some common sense, more like it."

The Mandalorian raised his free hand to his helmet, picking up a new a new transmission from HQ.

"Chit, Sithies are already coming down. Got a flame out in Sector E2 by the outer wall. Let's go give our new guests a friendly Vegemite welcome!"

There was a small cheer among the other Mandalorian Jump Troops present, then they all began to sprint towards a ledge outside to take to the air on rocketpacks. Outside, Finley found himself confronted with torrents of laser bolts, tracer fire, and white plumes of exploding flak shells as the local air defense grid had come alive to take down incoming landing craft. Every so often, there came a flash of fireballs as both friendly and enemy craft bit the dust. Already this fight was shaping up to be bigger than Onderon.

A real war.

Now on the ledge, he took a running start, then leaped off right as the suit's engines kicked on. As chaotic as the situation was now, the Corellian still felt a small thrill every-time with each flight. In an hardsuit in atmo or space, it was the closet he came to flying on his own. It was a shame it rarely happened under favorable circumstances.

From their starting position near the middle of the tower, it would only take about a few minutes to reach the grounded attackers, but already, the position of the Sith was being raked by plasma cannon emplacements from the main tower (mindful not to hit their own walls) to soften up resistance ahead the incoming airborne assault. The tower's height and central position within the complex afforded the defenders excellent visibility and coverage from both aerial and ground attacks, and the Vegemites would be merciless with the application of these advantages.

The armada and legions assembled by Sith were impressive, but every inch they tried to take on Myrkyr would have to be paid for with oceans of blood.

Alone, the boy looked up in fear.

He was already worn down, already beaten. All he had left was hope, hope that he could find Kaine and regroup. All he had left was hope, hope that everything would soon be okay and that slowly he would forget his experiences on Voss, the fight with Amani Serys Amani Serys .

In seconds, that hope was gone.

The cold swept over him, goosebumps coating his skin. Every single hair on his arms was standing at attention, every single hair on his neck alerting his fight or flight system to a threat, a danger looming that even he couldn't see.

Yet a danger he could feel. A darkness in the distance, a darkness that was moving towards him was pace that Caden would never be able to outrun. It was a darkness unlike anything he had ever felt, a darkness unlike Amani or any other Sith he had ever come across.

Fear froze him in place. He tried to scream, tried to run and nothing happened. The body of the young man was in shut down, frozen in fear. It was a type of fear he had only felt once before, a type of fear he had only felt second hand.

It was the very similar to the fear that Damian Starchaser Damian Starchaser had felt when approached by The Sith Emperor, Caden was certain of that. It was that fear that was holding Caden in place now, yet slightly less. Caden had felt something... different when he had experienced Damian's class with The Emperor.

Caden finally managed to break through the fear that was holding him in place, managed to get his hands down to the
lightsaber that was at his side. He was glad he had donned his Silver Jedi Robes, even if they were tatty and run down after his clash with Amani.

The beast in front of him, the man mounting it.

The Shadow Hand had arrived and Caden was sure the man wasn't friendly.

Joycelyn’s stuff: Lightsabre pike, Zaudraka, Jin’wodasir x3, Imperator’s Raiment, SIF-7 Minos, Dwomotchwûq, Sonic Grenades x 2

Sithspawn: Horde Mother, Sith Wasps, Spark Bug, Maelridae.

Joycelyn’s overconfidence was quickly proven to be a fault as her opponents rapidly dispatched of her large, ink-skinned monstrosities. She would have to bring more next time, or nastier ones. She was certain the Lady of Secrets would appreciate the feedback of the field-testing of her little horror-children. No matter, there were many more soaring through the skies: They were countless, and more were birthed every seven seconds a Horde Mother remained alive.

But alas, Joycelyn did not have time to focus on such things. There was murder to be done.

The male Jedi moved quickly to close the gap, and Joycelyn welcomed his aggression. She could also tell, from spatial awareness afforded by the Force, that the one she had attempted to squash with machinery managed to substitute her place with one of the Maelridae. It was a good movement; a worthy one.

So, her closest pets were dispatched, two of the three combatants were converging on her. Fighting two opponents at once, particularly force users, was a challenge for any seasoned warrior. Inside the black armour, Joycelyn grinned from ear to ear.

As blue filled the sky and fell within the skyline, Joycelyn lifted the butt of her spear to place it between herself and Mathieu. The tip of the spear’s red blade dug into the ground, setting organic matter aflame, turning stone and sand to glass as the blade clashed with the silver shaft of the pike. She rose from her kneeling position into the block, giving a moment’s hard resistance against Mathieu’s attack, but she did not stay static.

Minding the threat of Palm zooming toward them, Joycelyn pivoted with her opponent and turned her weapon, releasing the resistance to guide Mathieu’s sabre to the side and forward, hopefully unbalancing him as she extended the motion into a sweep at his ankle. The cutting power of the prongs made it enough to sever a foot should it land, but it was also an attempt at tripping him with the shaft

The tip of the bloodshine blade once again traced the ground, making a trail of black glass in its wake.

The large Sith also kept a mind on Inara as cruel cogs turned, grinding into ways of using the apparent civilian against the Jedi.

And as they fought, blue illuminated the horizon, and while it was a setback to the Legion, the battle was only beginning. Reinforcements would arrive, and the Varanin Legion would push forward relentlessly for the Princess of Dromund Kaas

Loadout:

Inara let out the breath she'd been holding as Palm side-stepped the flying speeder, letting it crash instead into the open jaws of the reptilian beast. Then, she looked with wide-eyes towards where Mathieu was going up against a woman – a Sith.

Unlike the only other Sith Inara had encountered, this one looked very much human – well, much taller, actually. But nothing like the beast-woman, she'd faced on Onderon. However, that did not make her any less dangerous. Palm sped towards the dueling pair, and Inara lifted a foot to follow.

HELP!”

Skidding, Inara looked for the source of the cry. Down one of the nearby alleys, a woman and a teenage boy were frantically trying to fend off one of the large flying insects. They stood protectively in front of a man on the ground, bleeding. Heart leaping, Inara immediately turned down the alley. She stopped when she was in range and held her rifle up to shoot, tracking the erratic movements of the insect as it tried to attack the woman and teen.

“Get down!” Inara shouted, and when the two civilians had dropped, she fired. Her first shot soared past the bug, but the second one found its mark and the insect fell out of the air.

“Please! Help him,” the woman cried, now crouched at the side of the wounded man on the ground. Scrambling over, Inara quickly knelt on the ground next to them. The man's eyes were closed, his skin already growing cold to the touch as she stuck her fingers against the side of his neck, looking for a pulse. But no matter how she pressed against the pulse points, the search was fruitless.

The woman looked at Inara, eyes brimming with tears. “Can you save him?”

Inara opened her mouth, but no sound came out. They couldn't remain here for long, she needed to get these two moving towards the evacuation point – if that was even still an option at this point, she wasn't sure. But how could she say the words?

“He's... gone,” she said, gently. “I'm so sorry.”

Both eyes shot up in surprise as the staff withstood his blue blade. First her armour and now this - Mathieu did not like it, not one bit. The point of fighting an enemy so powerful seemed moot. If lucky, the apparent wealth and richness of resources the Sith seemed to have would bring forth their eventual downfall. Arrogance and sloppiness were just as dangerous as a well trained foe. His spirits remained high and he was still hopeful.

Inara soon disappeared from his line of sight, but he stayed calm, something told him that she was fine for the time being.

It was odd, pushing a lightsabre against a metallic object - because usually, the metal would break. Sure, there were vibroswords, but this was just a staff. Ultimately, there was nothing else to do but to adapt, and so he started to slide his blade down along the shaft, fully utilising that sabre locks only happened when two sabres clashed. It would not be long until the sabres actually did clash, causing the lock to finally occur - it was about time, for it meant that he was much safer.

Still, the woman's rotational move around him still carried the same threat as before but now, he turned his body and sabre to the right, ensuring that his defensive weapon followed her as she went, preventing him from being harmed. Naturally, the rest of him would not remain still - instead, he too, allowed the sabre lock to become the rotational axis and almost followed in her trail.

Unless she did something unexpected, it wouldn't be long before they stood side by side after he had turned almost 180 degrees, making it so that his left side faced her right side whilst they were still engaged in a power struggle below with both blades in front of him. Aiming to deprive her of the mobility she enjoyed, he would then momentarily release his twohanded grip of his own sabre in order to bring his left arm to take hold of her spear. This would once again create a gridlock between them, but now, it would hopefully be harder for her to disengage.

Look at me! Look at me! The beast inside of me is only getting bigger!

The boy flipped through the pages of The Nameless Prince, a children's storybook written by some local author on Myrkr. He had found it in the library of the orphanage he resided in, his only safe place of residence now that his brother had left him. The tale told the legend of a little prince without a name, and try as he might the boy could never find one that fit him. As time passed by the boy accepted his fate as an entity that would remain without any identity, without any purpose or reason for existing. The boy had read the story more times than he could remember, but he gripped onto to every page as though it were his first time experiencing that haunted calligraphy. Towards the end of the story The Prince came to boast about his lack of identity. Once he inherited the throne, he was able to devour any obstacle in front of him with ease. But despite the prince's natural ability to handle any issue his nation faced, he still longed for a name.

Smiling, the boy closed the book, and looked to his right. A vision of the little prince stood in front of him, none of the other children by the boy's side could see him. The two looked at each other with a mutual understanding. Who needs a name? I'm perfectly happy without one. The boy stood, and as he did another orphan climbed atop a small railing on the roof they gathered upon. In total five children were on the roof, though only two would walk across the railing today. The boy, of course, had already easily demonstrated his ability to cross the railing. Of the other two that would not walk, one showed equal skill and crossed the roof with only a brief misstep. The other hadn't made the crossing, but had shown enough strength to survive the fall. His right leg was in a splint, but he had shown his determination.

Together, the boy and The Prince gazed at the orphan as he swayed on the balcony. The boy only took them up on the windiest of days, that was the only way they could prove their strength. But the boy had predicted that neither of the two he convinced to make this ascent would survive. Indeed, the first of the two to attempt the crossing was not sure-footed at all. The child fell, and after a quick shriek and a few unnatural crunching sounds, silence filled the air.

After all, that's what we are, the boy said to the Little Prince. Nameless monsters.

"Such a shame," the boy said gently, staring at the unmoving body below. But there was one more child who might survive the journey. The boy looked at her with the sweetest of smiles. "Well then, its your turn."

On one side of Lark stood a true friend, a woman who had helped him face truths and aspects of himself that he might never had had the courage to face had she not been present. On the other stood a vision, a little prince that hardly reached Lark's shoulders. He hadn't seen The Prince since he had left Myrkr, though he knew that wicked manifestation had been a constant companion of his. Whether The Prince was what brought out the monster within him or not, Lark could not tell for certain. But that phantasmal perception played some role in his journey. There might not be a single copy of The Nameless Prince left in the galaxy. But that didn't matter, for The Prince still existed within Lark's mind.

And as long as The Prince lived, so too would discontent thrive within Lark.

You told me once that no one needed a name, The Prince said to Lark. That we would be perfectly happy without one. But you lied to me. You lied to yourself. You've become fond of your name. So you've controlled yourself, no matter how bloodthirsty you've become. You're more ravenous than ever, but you've restrained yourself.

But soon your hunger will become too great.

For little more than a moment, Lark fell in line with The Prince. After all, the specter was right. Neither of them knew who they truly were, they shared a bond that was unlike any the acolyte shared. Nameless. Lost. Wandering.

Scared.

"I like this side of you. Please don't change, Lark."

He looked to his other side, and remembered the words his dear friend had spoken to him on Typha-Dor. Nida had been a lovely companion these past few weeks, but even her wonderous influence might not be enough to stall the infernal, monstrous tide that had been swelling within him. But her voice, her presence, that brought him such beautiful peace. When she spoke to him, it felt as though the snow was whispering into his ear, so peaceful was her tone. Winter and summer converged, no matter how cold Lark felt he could still feel her warm company. Had the two of them not been on Myrkr, she would have melted away any doubts he had.

All of this could have happened so differently, he thought sadly.

Nida pondered on what she should do in the event the worst of Lark showed itself, and as she winced in utter pain Lark could not control his own dismay. Lark hated seeing her in agony. He hated seeing anyone he loved in misery. And so when he saw Nida Perl wince in pain, Lark couldn't help but take her pain as his own. Just as his sister deserved none of the agony she experienced, so too did Nida deserve none of the torture she brought upon herself. If it were possible for Lark to tear reality apart and place himself in Nida's shoes, he'd do so.

"I don't know what's going to happen to me," Lark said. Nida couldn't see it, but The Prince was staring at her with eyes full of hatred. But Lark only gazed down at her with the kindest of expressions. "I can feel this... abhorrent hunger festering within me. If this gnawing craving grows, I know not what will become of me. In this instance, I will ask that you trust your own judgement. If you believe that I can fight this on my own, then leave me be. But if you see some potential for unforgivable harm within me, then do whatever it is you feel needs to be done. I recognize this is a heavy burden to place upon you. If I could steal every ounce of grief from you, I would do so without hesitation. But I once again find myself asking for your assistance. I've just started feeling so... hungry."

Lark could feel himself slipping away. The Prince was ripping away all of the defenses Lark had built over the years, exposing the nameless monster within him. He could only chuckle softly. Looks like I'm not as strong as I thought.

"Nida,"
he said gently. At this point he wasn't sure whether it was the monster speaking or some part of him that actually still cared for her. Either way, his smile was as warm as the sun. "Thank you."

"For everything."

The quiet grew louder. Cara opened her eyes to peer at blinking lights and glitched displays. Their electric struggles, those internal complaints of hardware damage, began to escape her understanding as they faded into silence. Soon she peered at her hands and realized the mechanics of her own cybernetics had lost their chattering tones. She drew a haggard breath and clenched her fists, the sensations of both actions feeling dull and detached.

Her connection was severed.

Upon this damnable planet trod a creature which, she assumed rightly, was close by and in abundance. Her plated fingers traced the tender skin where the taser prongs had bitten. By either a stroke of luck or deep infiltration of her personal life the would-be-assassin had struck the very place Cara had integrated an Empyrean Gland. Brainchild of the young upstart AMCO AMCO it was designed to repulse the influence of anti-Force effects. Though expecting it to withstand the business end of a taser was understandably demanding Cara made note to suggest an improvement for durability.

Cara despised the silence as it enveloped the ship. It taunted her, stroking the surface of her mind with a claw that threatened to snip the binds which leashed old torments.

She cursed the toxic cocktail of emotion then rose-- winced-- then rose to her feet. Refusing to stew any longer she pulled a medi-pack from an askew wall then slumped to the floor. She injected an agent for pain then applied a bacta patch to her cheek and forehead.

Tossing aside the medipack she searched the ship for supplies. Draped over the pilot control was the Mandalorian's body, and Cara took his chin and twisted the head around. For the crew, for the Empire, and for the time she spent triple-checking the gland's biology before incorporating it into her body. The pettiness was an outlet she fled to, anything to keep her distracted as she focused on survival.

"Hey! Anyone here? Show yourself!"

A voice from outside the transport. Cara almost tripped over a head and looked down. The familiar black dome was her own helmet. With a quick glance through a tear in the ship's frame she spied a form, obscured. Yet there, in the quickest moment, the flash of a visor was visible.

Mandalorian.

What she could only do to the one that downed the ship she might could enact on a more lively specimen. She slipped on her helmet. She maneuvered around the inside of the wreck, gently slipping the Judicator rifle onto her back. She hugged the wall of the cabin, listening, waiting for the barbarian to come closer. Among the breaches of the hull one was just overhead, a large gash angled at almost eye level.

A shadow crossed over the opening. Cara threw her fist through, striking at the warrior from an awkward angle.

She then seized the edges of the breach to lift herself out and continue the offensive.

The armor, the markings, and the voice. They all fell into one another to form the man she'd faced on Mandalore almost a year ago.

Quick figures ran in her head as she calculated the prospects of their meeting again. Startled at the coincidence she threw an accusatory finger,

"YOU!"

Make the decision and make it quickly, even if it’s the wrong one.

Seo-Yun was silent, razor-focused even as her missile sailed wide by mere inches when the bandit executed a hard turn, splitting off from what she could only guess was their wingman in an undoubtedly desperate maneuver. However, after a quick glance at her sensors and processing the position of her wingman in relation to A1, Seo-Yun instead opted to turn after A2, making the immediate switch on the squadron’s battle net as she rolled her wings in the direction of her new target and pulled her interceptor into a hard break. Owing to her craft’s turning performance, Seo-Yun managed to keep her new target in front of her, in the process holding them on the defensive and nullifying the enemy pilot’s attempts to acquire a positive missile lock.

Turning after her target, Seo-Yun maintained her momentum and directed more power to her interceptor’s engines as she moved to line her interceptor’s nose up with the bandit’s fuselage. While she normally would have had to push all the way into an all-or-nothing lead pursuit, where she would have to angle her interceptor’s nose slightly ahead of her target’s flight path, her craft’s solar ionization cannons allowed her to acquire a viable firing solution without having to lead her target.

It also meant that she could put an end to the fight early, perhaps before her target was aware that they suddenly were on the defensive.

And so, after lining up her nose with her target’s upper fuselage in a pure pursuit at relatively close range, though still from a position that was slight above her target, Seo-Yun squeezed the triggers on her control sticks with slender, yet unyielding fingers, letting loose a salvo of six beams of ionized light from her interceptor’s cannons that streamed towards the bandit at nigh-superluminal velocities.

Sabaton – Rise of Evil

Immediately upon arrival, Ingrid saw that it was not a simple temple as had been referred to before. It was more of a complex military fortress. She liked to sabotage such things from the inside anyway. The woman hoped she could still have the opportunity to do so now if she had infiltrated the inside of the building. There was chaos and war everywhere. She saw that she was not alone, but that there were also Imperial units nearby. Then, after all, it wasn’t that far from the front, just from the original destination.

In order not to be seen in the open terrain the Overlord immediately disguised herself to blend better into the environment and prevent the enemy from noticing her so quickly. It would not have been appropriate for her to have been shot or blown up immediately after her arrival. So she retreated a little to the more woody part, where there was really no one. In the meantime, she became aware that there were those who had arrived. That armour was quite surprising to the woman, she did not expect heavy artillery.

Ingrid would never have worn such armour, it would have prevented her from moving. She loved light armours, in which acrobatic movements could be performed quickly and unhindered. But since her opponent wore this, she thought the other might be some kind of commander - she might be wrong, of course - so it would have been advisable to withdraw him from the fight, as quickly as possible. And if it weren’t a commander, it’ll still have fewer opponents for soldiers who are in heavy armour.

So she reached into the Force and tried to “shape” the invisible telepathic “hands” around Finley Dawson and then grab the young man - she had no idea who he was because of the armour. If she succeeded, she tried to pull her opponent to the very edge of the jungle with a telekinetic pull. This time she did not have time to wait for the other party to attack, now she initiated…
