Dominion Rule Alterations

1. The thread must have a minimum total of 100 posts.

2. The faction must construct a believable plot for the duration of the role-play and present some sort of opposition for it's members.

3. You may only dominion a planet that is available on the SWRP: Chaos Official Map.

4. If you finish a dominion within 30 minutes of a faction finishing a dominion on the same planet, an Invasion thread for the planet must be initiated to decide ownership of the planet.

5. All posts in a Dominion must be made to be quality posts. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in a raising of the minimum post goal for the Dominion.

6. No single Writer may be responsible for more than 1/5th of the total posts in a Dominion.

7. Dominions must have a minimum of 5 unique writers posting in it.

Beautiful additions, though I would ask you to clarify what you mean by 'quality' posts. I have no argument with it, but I know people tend to differ over the definition of that!

Each member of Staff has different definitions for what "quality" means as well. When someone calls one specific instance out, a few of us talk about it at the time of discovery and make a judgement call.

Good changes, but I have a question. Can one person post more then one fifth of the dominion if those extra posts aren't counted towards the dominion count?

I.E If Bob and Luke are doing a story, say a pivotal duel that drastically effects the stories of both characters, in a dominion... and they reach their limits. Do they have to stop that story, or move it to another thread?

So what if someone wants to just crank out 20 posts of them and some NPC's doing their portion of the story?
So long as they stop at 20, and don't post other characters, they'll be fine. With 5 minimum writers required in a Dominion, 100 posts minimum for a Dominion - 20 would be the stopping point for a post count for any one Writer should the Dominion end at 100 posts.

Just for clarity and to state the obvious... If a dominion is required to hit 150 total posts, the maximum posts for a single writer goes up by 10, for a total of 30 posts... correct?
1/5 of 150 total posts is 30, yes.

If I do 25 posts in a 100 post dominion, do we now have to hit 105 posts as a group or 125?

Assume in this example we reached 90 and realised someone had over posted by a few.

If anyone catches it, a post penalty from Staff may be applied. Probably 25 posts, but it depends on the situation.

I'm all for these changes, though I think it'd be easier for staff and more fair to writers if a writer can post as much as they want, but can only count for one fifth. Let a person post a hundred times if the dominion is important to their story, but only count it as 20.

You can post all you want in regular roleplays, but Dominions are team-oriented. Work as a team, not as a carry.

Reign your urge to spam in a little bit and follow a proper posting rotation and you won't even notice this rule is there.

These are good changes. However; if it's a team effort shouldn't it also be looked at whether or not it's a faction effort? I mean there's nothing wrong--to me at least--with having opposition or people join in because their characters have a reason to be there -- like if it was their home. But... I've been told no matter what, the faction that starts the dominion gets it at the end of the day regardless of the story in the dominion (assuming it's quality and makes sense).

So will staff penalize a dominion that has say 8 faction members participating but say 12 non-faction members also participating? Especially if those 12 would be posting more than the 8 I'd like to think that's not necessarily a team effort, let alone a faction one.

Now this is something I've seen that I can't stand. Especially when the opposition is led by a faction administration of the faction doing the dominion.
