Amaethon knew that his squad couldn't see through the illusion and so, he had to act quickly. He strode over to the sargeant and gestured for the squad to open fire. They needed to do something in order to avoid a general rout and, this was not the neat strike he preferred, but it harassed the Jedi all the same. He was going to play a patient game, not blunder headlong into whatever was inside.

Let the Jedi come to him. The Acolyte surveryed the area, looking for options. He knew the Sith fleet were coming and the Jedi couldn't hide in the Temple indefinitely whilst it was razed around them. That meant they would need to come out as he wanted them to, into the lines of fire. The blaster rifles would probably not kill more experienced Knights and Masters, he estimated, if they were anywhere near the competence of a Sith Knight or Lord.

That was why he was here, he reflected with a grim smile.

'Why do you hide, Jedi,' Amaethon's telepathic message dripped with contempt 'Come and face your end.'

The second part was a gentle caress compared with the hard scorn of the first.

Solan didn't move an inch, bored of this man and his pathetic attempt to get Solan out into the middle of a group of Soldiers that would be able to shoot him down once enough of them focused in on the target that was Solan. So with a quick flick of his wrist the flames shot out from behind where he took cover and burned over the ground as they shot out towards the soldiers. It was a blind strike but its purpose all the same. Face me alone, or leave Sith.

Arriving to the spaceport's control centre, she asked to see the real time footage at once. Her eyes stared at the monitors watching the movements around the Jedi Temple. The Sith Inquisition forces had begun to surround the temple, some even filtering in through the ruined doors. Yet, there were no signs of an evacuation taking place outside the structure, but that didn't mean the Jedi or the Republic weren't in the process of doing it. The spaceport had fell all to quickly to believe otherwise.
"We must head to the Jedi Temple at once," Darth Venefica said to [member="Sage Bane"] slowly pulling her eyes from the images on the monitors. "And do try and show some restraint in killing the locals. [member="Darth Hauntruss"] is not one to overlook her orders being ignored." She patted the handsome Acolyte on his left shoulder and gave him a quick wink as she passed by. He had done well and she saw no reason he should be punished for his insolence.
The Sith from Dagobah fled the control centre heading toward the Jedi Temple running as fast as her legs would allow. She didn't want to risk using the Force to increase her speed, opting to rely on it when it truly mattered. Ever since the hard lesson she learned back on Kashyyyk almost six years ago, she learned to use the Force sparingly; even now as she was far more stronger in the Force. Without evening acknowledging the troops outside the temple, she entered in a flash pulling her hilt from her right side but left it powered down.
Jedi! She could feel their presence in the Force, especially one in particular and she frowned slightly when she realized who it was. As she rounded a corner that bore the signs of blaster fire on it's edges, she caught sight of a wounded Republic soldier trying to crawl away. With a snarl she slammed her right foot down on his back, pinning him to the ground. The man's wounds were beyond saving his life so there would be no struggle from him physically.
"You will not survive to see another sunrise," the Sith Lord mocked, "But the swiftness of your death depends on what you can tell us. We do not have the time to play games with you. So either you volunteer the information and we end your suffering quickly or you can force us to rip it from your mind and kill you in a more dramatic way. Now here comes the important question...where is the Jedi vaults located?"

A pat on the shoulder and a wink from Darth Venefica was enough to persuade Sage that little consequences would come from his massacre of Kel Dor civilians. He would heed her advice and try to practice restraint, but restraint had always been a hard concept for the acolyte to grasp. Did his former slavers show restraint when they beat him mercilessly? Did [member="Zambrano the Hutt"] show restraint when the blasted slug collared him and chained him to his throne of bodies? Sage mused on the request as he rallied his troops, noticing only a slight thinning of their numbers from the seizure of the spaceport. In a short time, the acolyte and his Imperial troops made their way to the Baran Do Temple.

Once they arrived, it looked to Sage like the temple had already been partially demolished. Swarms of Imperial troops climbed over the rocky debris and became enveloped in darkness as they began their siege. Sage ordered his troops to spread out and kill everything in sight. Then, his cloak feathering out behind him, he called the Force into his body and branched out his dark-sided tendrils, searching through the ether. Sage was a former Jedi and was familiar with the benevolent sensation of their light sided auras.

The bloodlust he inherited from the Blood Wastes had now settled into his bones and created an urge to kill that was all his own. His saber hummed in his grip as he strode into the temple. He would find Jedi to kill today, and he relished the thought of eclipsing a peaceful light with his own darkness.

The Helldivers made good time as the moved towards the temple. Small outposts of resistance were quickly identified from afar and hit with airstrikes and targeted artillery before being followed up by infantry assault. So far there had been no injures, and only a handful of soldiers had even been shot. Cyrus idly wondered what the casualty numbers were like for the defenders. Nothing quite so generous.

The temple loomed up in the distance. In between there was a cluster of buildings that could have been a storage complex or barracks. A sad commentary on the state of most troop housing facilities perhaps, but more importantly a possible source of resistance. The platoon commander gave the order to hold position and the troop hunkered down, waiting for the airstrike. After several minutes of getting acquainted with the dirt, Cyrus got annoyed and made his way over to where the lieutenant was.

"What's the hold up?"

The soldier looked up and paused for half a second, just enough time to register and comprehend the badge on the shoulder pad of Cyrus' armor which was known by every Helldiver. Then he shrugged.

"They ain't saying, sir. Just keep giving me the old 'roger wait out.'

"Fine," Cyrus said with a grin. "Call it off, we'll do this the old fashioned way."

It only took a few minutes to reorganize the unit and spread them out for an assault. Breaching and clearing buildings was one of the things Helldivers were expected to be experts at. Every soldier was trained in at least basic demolitions, and carried multiple grenades, with every fire-team having a launcher. Standard equipment was a blaster rifle with undermounted shotgun (that could also be used to fire large caliber slugs). There was no coincidence that this exact setup also included the very weapons best used to fight force users.

At the designated moment each entryway to the building was breached at the same time, and Helldivers flooded in. Cyrus followed a knot four troopers, and they entered to darkness and silence. Without needing a command, the soldiers activated thermal sensors and continued to fan out, weapons at the ready. Cyrus was slower in following up with the sweep. They tolerated his presence in operations like this because of his reputation and tactical ability, but when it came to actual firefights he was more of a liability.

A burst of blaster fire lit up the room and struck one oft he soldiers in the chest, knocking him tot he floor. Combat instinct, honed for almost 30 years, took over, and Cyrus dived for cover, and brought up his weapon and peered around the of the desk he was behind. One of the Helldivers had tossed some smoke, and a second had just thrown an explosive grenade. Cyrus counted off the seconds in his head, then rose up and moved forward with the others as it went off.

Another burst of blaster fire emerged from the darkness, but it was clearly wild shots, and they all went wide. The Helldivers responded with controlled bursts, and soon the shooting stopped. Two targets eliminated, what looked to be militia or irregulars of some sort. Probably left behind during a haphazard retreat to the temple.

The soldier who'd been shot was back on his feet when Cyrus turned around, his armor visibly dented but otherwise no worse for wear. The other entry squads reported light resistance and only two casualties, both minor injuries. The platoon set charges and moved on. The temple awaited.

Amaethon smiled under his mask as the flames passed by a few meters away.

'Sergeant, withdraw your squad then circle around. Find concealment. I will signal when to open fire.' The Acolyte sent the wordless command then, at the sargeant's gesture, the squad withdrew from cover and appeared to fall back.

Taking his time, Amaethon made his way to the center of the walkway. He made a lazy flourish with his lightsaber, his posture suggesting boredom. He would see if the Jedi was proud and would rush in to attack an insolent opponent.

'I can taste your fear, Jedi. Surrender and your death will be quick' he sent.

Solan sighed and waited before looking and seeing no one but the sith. With that he sighed and let the illusion fall as he spoke. "Hey there, ya not a Jedi." He began, letting the door crash back to the ground before grinning at the man with wider grin. "I know you weren't unnerved by my illusion, so no need to waste the energy keeping it up though you must know that walking into this temple will mean i have to kill you right? Well those Jedi weaklings think that i should take you prisoner but the ones that haven't escaped are alittle busy so i guess im the only thing left. If the majority weren't spineless i wouldn't have to be the one here but they can't help it when jedi killing is pretty much a sport for Sith these days. Question, who has the most kills of the week, Praelior? Or was it that Vorn guy this week. Oh no, i bet it was the Isolda one, shes a schutta as it is." He laughed to himself and drew the flames back to him and let them collect on the blade of the scythe as he continued.

"Well. Either way it is a shame i have to kill you, you look like someone who would be fun to hang out with. Could have helped me kill some slavers in another life but not this one. So if you may do please surrender yourself." With that he gave the man an over exaggerated bow and looked up as the shaft of the scythe stretched out behind him and the blade was held out to the right.

The Acolyte let him go on for a few moments, allowing his squad time to set up. Then he sent a shower of stones, dirt and pebbles towards him, like a casual backhand across the face.

'You talk far too much. Jedi or no, you die.'

He gathered a head sized ball of Dark Side energy in his left palm tgen flung it towards [member="Solan Charr"]

[member="Amaethon"]

He sighed as he watched the shower of stones and set up a barrier from where he stood still inside the temple. His eyes watching as the dirt and stones slammed into the barrier and he and more so as the ball of darkside energy was shot at him. "Shit." He jumped up and used the scythe like it was a pole vault. Problem was he knew just how exposed he made himself and to counter this he did one thing. Slammed a force push into his own chest and sent himself to the far side of the room and out of the open. Sure it hurt like a schutta but he was really not fond of getting shot either as he slowly got up.

Varus had been busy destroying everything else left unhidden or too large to hide in nooks and crannies around the enclave. His sabers cut glowing gashes up and down the isles as he passed, his mind finding peace in the moments leading up to the inevitable confrontation. When their jobs were done, Varus stepped out of the last isle of the archives and glanced over at his Twi'Lek ally.

"Are you ready?", he asked her, a confident look on his face accompanied by a smirk allowed to remain as to instill hope in her. He knew she'd need a little reassurance, though Varus himself wasn't certain that either of them would be leaving alive that day.

Kneeling down to pick up the pack containing the few holocrons worth salvaging Sera nodded to Varus, issuing a soft spoken "Mhm." She could feel the darkness encroaching upon the ancient Jedi temple. It was hard to shake the feeling of angst. After all, the Sith were about to taint an important aspect of the Jedi Order. Regardless of its current state of use, a temple was still sacred. Of course she didn't fear death itself, though she certainly didn't embrace the idea either. She simply wanted the assurance that if she were to in fact lay down her life, that it would be to ensure the defeat of the Sith. That would not be the case here today. This was already a lost cause and they were merely salvaging the scraps.

"The temple hangar shouldn't be far. We'll pass by the main entrance on our way to it from here. We can see what we're up against then, but I fear if we overstay our welcome we may not be leaving."

As she began to make her way towards the main entryway of the temple she would sense the presence of a familiar dark side signature along with a few other unknowns. The Knight's eyes would lower, eyelids clasping shut for a moment followed by an uncomfortable sigh as she realized who else was here on Dorin. If she could feel Venefica, the girl could surely sense Sera as well.

But who else is with her? And why are they on Dorin?

Landing Grounds Beyond Temple Assault
With a shaking quake the Imperial Shuttle Loader touch ground behind a large column of Stormtroopers. The cavity of the over-sized carrier opened and descending from the deployment ramp Darth Hauntruss in tightened and reinforced steel stepped out onto the earth of Dorin. A black metal breather covering her lower face her golden eyes surveyed the scene. Fire and brimstone. The bombardment by the vehicles was ripping the temple asunder. Behind her, the Death Dragoons formed ranks and at her command made a full march down the already claimed invasion route. Passing her by in opposite direction was a collection of prisoners - padawans, Republic soldiers, near-to-death Knights. Hauntruss watched one young humanoid padawan stumble and fall behind. Hauntruss broke off from the group and like an ominous black mist develop over the youngling. Peering down at her the youngling looked up and recoiled at her sudden appearance. Hauntruss, kneeled down and with a black glove caressed the youngling's cheek. The Youngling flinched and shivered at the unwanted touch. Small whimpers poured out as did small tears.

"Hu͇͖̗̟͙s̜h̭̞̩̜͔̫̪ l͔̗͉̰i̯̜ṱ̳t͖̜̦̱lḙ͈ ̤͔̪̲̘͙o̱̯͎͈͔n̦̯e͙͚̦̲͍͈͖.͓ ̬̟H̦͙͍̪̮͎u̮̳͎̦̰s͓̬ẖ͇̪̠̦ ̠̞͍͙͈̺͉no̦w̦̩͕̼̙̻̻.̱̹̰͖͓ ̟̳̞̳̭Do͍̝̤ ̺̣͙͍no̲̖̝̠ͅt̤̭͖ ͙͖͔̜͎̙ͅf̭͓ea̦͖̠̤̰̠r̖̠̯ ͇̹̝̰͎̪͕w̱͉̙̣̼h͙̮͖̣̻̤̦a̺̲̮t̪͇ ̫i̼̥̩̣ͅͅs ̣̘͈͈t̼̭̹̖̙͉ͅo̻̹̞̥͉̜̠ ̤̭̪c̘o͈̳͎͓m̱̠̲̘̲̗e̠̙̹͙.͔̳̗̲̫ I͕̙͇̳̯ṭ̥̤̭̫ͅ ̯̗̩̗ͅw͉̦̤͔as̼͈͈̥͇̠̙ ̦̥̺̘̙͙inevitable.̻̠͎̪͉̝ ̝͉̻̝͔̬̲B͈̣͉͇ṳ̮̫̼̖ͅt̳͈̟̦̣ ͖̞̦d̬̪̬̪o̯̗ ͓̮n̟̘͚̮͎o̯̞̗̩͓͇̬t̩̪͖͉͓̜̦ ̝̞͈̗f͚e͉̼͖̜a͇r͉ͅ.̦̮ ̪̰̣̰̙It̰ w̟̤̟̠̼i̪̱̬̠̹̻̥l̮̫̙̰̞͈̟l̤̫͙̻ ͎̱̲̫͎̞̜e̝n͔͓d̮̜ ̟̰̬̰͔v̪̻̱͚̻̖e̙r̘͚͈y s̜̼̦o̰̱̺̫͔̖o͔̝̭n͚͔.̮"

Hauntruss' metallic voice rang out in an eerie echo. The breather warped her dark voice it a hissing metallic sigh. The youngling froze with fear and only stared at the Sith Lady. Rising she picked up the youngling and nudged her along to catch up with the others as two Stromtroopers marched over to her dragged her away. Turning to her Stormtroopers, Huantruss hissed the commands to begin the final full assault. Through her breather she barked, "N̴o̸w̴ ̶b͞egi͠n͠s the͞ir f̴inal d̴est͏ruct͡ío͞n.̴ ͘D҉e͝s͠tr͘oy̢ ͡e̶v̛ery͟t̕hi͠ng. Fleeing Republic forces were slaughtered where they stood and Jedi's were swarmed in a violent torrent of black armor. The grenadier legions began setting up detonation points and began the complete demolishing of the final core of the central domed temple complex.

Hauntruss marched forward with charge.

The flames of the temple rose and rose.Great plumes of black smoke lurked up and mixed with the toxic atmosphere of Dorin. Light petals of ash began to snow down in a flurry. It was hell. And it was a landscape Hauntruss revered. After this purge, Dorin would be transformed. Turned into a citadel for the One Sith and those who live in it would become their greatest servants. Hauntruss, had dark plans...dark plans.

But amongst her scheming a familiar voice rang out- through the force.

Kian Karr said:
Darth Hauntruss! Kian called out telepathically to the presence. This isn't their fight. This is our fight. Let us finish this.
Hauntruss' smile grew. An old foe and presented himself once more. Hauntruss commanded her units to follow [member="Cyrus Tregessar"]'s soldiers and support his campaign to finish cleaning up. Peeling away Hauntruss entered a sunken and destroyed area at the far end of the Kel Dor Jedi Temple. Taking a rotting stone stairway down to a great main chamber she began to hiss in the darkside feeling for her old foe.

"T̴h͏e ̡fo҉ŗc͡e is͡ ̛st҉ro͠ng̸ wi̕th̨ y͟o͘u ͡K̡el͟ ̶D҉or. ̡H҉is̸ş hi͠s̷s h̶íss. Bu͜t y͘ou̢ a҉r̷e no͏t ͜a̴ f͡ul̷l Jed̛i͏ ̷y̸et͢." Hauntruss' form bleeded out of the darkness to meet the Kel Dor. Amaethon summoned the Force once more and moved across the entryway at inhuman speed. He would have to pry the Jedi, or whatever he was, out himself it would seem. This one would snap like a cornered animal if pressed too hard, ergo he needed to exercise caution. The Acolyte stopped just before the archway and saw the large bronzium door about 15m away.

He needed to make him angry enough to leave cover. Amaethon thumbed his lightsaber off, hooked it on his belt and extended both hands out. Gritting his teeth, he concentrated on the bent door and was able to lift it a few meters off the ground. With a grunt, he made a shoving motion and hurled it towards Solan Charr....

[member="Amaethon"]

Solan groaned as he got up and looked at the doorway... and the door that was flying at him. "Damnit you Sith-shitling..." Pushing up he jumped out of the way and fell onto the floor once more before getting up a bit more annoyed than anything else as he though to himself on how best to deal with this one. Smiling he decided to play this man's game as he started to walk towards him with his scythe held tight in one hand. "Im sorry, apparently you don't feel like chatting... very well then..." With that his hand rose this time and he let loose a quick blast of force lightning at the Sith upstart.

Sage’s psychic hunt for a light-sided signature hit paydirt. A Jedi was near, and interestingly enough he got a slight taste of anxiety and anticipation in her aura. Stealing through the temple in order to get closer to his mark, he tried to gain a foothold on her thoughts. The Sith apprentice was studying the art of illusions with his Master Matsu, learning how to take thoughts, fears, wishes and desires and make them manifest before the victim’s very eyes. He would use this encounter as practice.

Sage reached out with his tendrils of the dark side. His mark would likely feel this intrusion, but that couldn’t be helped until he became more skilled in using the power. Fear was easy to exploit. Desire was tougher, especially since the Jedi were specifically trained to be on the lookout for temptations to the Dark Side of the Force. However, Sage, as a former drug addict and hedonist was acutely in-tune to the pleasure centers of the brain. He found it easier to unearth desires than fears, a skill his Master was molding the foundations of.

At first, sifting through the Jedi’s mind seemed like a futile exercise. This one had a strong intellect, but there were certain emotions that even the most brilliant minds couldn’t hide. Hers were centered on a loved one she wanted to be reunited with. A sibling.

Sage focused intensely on the feelings of deep-seated abandonment the sibling caused, fully expecting to be shut out her mind like a door slammed in his face. He was a brother and...Twi’lek? Perhaps it was a shot in the dark, given his inexperience with the ability, but once he got a mental picture of the brother, Sage sent a feeling to the Jedi. The sensation that somewhere in the temple, her brother was near. Perhaps he was one of the Sith raiding the temple, another wayward soul who had fallen to the Dark side.

There was hope for him yet. If only she would come to him...

She mentally thanked the dead Republic soldier for not wasting her time as she moved toward the location of the Jedi vaults. The halls were empty except for the occasional dead Jedi, Republic soldier, or Sith trooper that decorated the floors. A younger version of herself would have cursed at missing the chance to engage and kill the enemy, but she no longer needed to prove her strength to anyone, minus herself. Her achievements on and off the battlefield had given birth to the Sith Lady she was today. She no longer had living rivals to her knowledge and if she did give cause for others to harbour jealousy against her among the Order, fear prevented them from speaking out against her.
As she drew closer to her destination, she could not shake the feeling knowing that Sera was here and potentially in grave danger. There was nothing she could do for her except hope she could find a way to get off planet or get captured. If it was the latter, she would petition on the Jedi's behalf that she be assigned to the Sith Lady's sector, the Eclipse planet in the Deep Core. Quickly Darth Venefica buried such thoughts less they betray her and be used against her by another Sith Lord.
"Sith!"
The single word halted her in her tracks. With a heavy sigh, she turned toward the corridor on her left and saw a young looking male Jedi, with a blue blade, running toward her. In a flash, she knocked the Jedi Padawan or Knight to the floor via Force Push and ignited her own weapon. The foolish Jedi leaped to their feet and charged again. Darth Venefica shook her head at the headstrong Jedi.
"When you meet your Master in the afterlife," the Sith Lady snarled as she moved into Makashi, "Slap him or her for not teaching you common sense."

Feeling the surge of Dark Side power in his opponent, the Sith Acolyte could only throw himself out of the way. The lightning sizzled over him, perhaps by half a meter, and he could feel his body hair stand on end. As he came back to his feet, he threw a small bolt of energy at Solan, not so much intended to harm as to buy time. From there he leapt back....

"Ya, Run. OH and take your door back." Turning his head her gripped the door with the force and stepped forward as he tossed it towards the open door as he waited for this man to have a face fullof the same door he had tried to hit solan with. The bolt of energy impact on his shoulder mid throw though, sending the door tumbling instead of directly at the man. Both slowing it down but making it a much bigger danger for the man now as it encompassed a larger round.

Amaethon saw the chunk of bronzium once called a door flying towards him. He threw up a Force Barrier, all he could do now, for the object was too big to simply leap away. As the door hit the purple tinted barrier, it began to cave inwards. He was thrown back, bodily, by the implosion of his shield. He made his way back to his feet shakily....

Varus and Seraphina walked together for some time in the temple, making sure to be careful and quiet as they did. If the Sith were already lurking in the shadows then they certainly didn't want to give away their position before they had time to plan their next move. Despite the tall, male Knight's bulky build and tenacious drive, he was quite the calculated type of Jedi. He never did anything without first consulting reason and the force itself.

"Here.", Varus finally said, his thoughts guarded though not realizing that Seraphina may or may not be susceptible to Sith mind games. His wits were always about him and the force always provided a bright hedge of protection around his mind, but he didn't know the Twi'Lek well enough to be sure whether or not she had the same advantages as he did.

Pushing a large stone aside, Varus stepped through a warped metal doorway and into a wide open room, a couple of destroyed ships laying strewn about the room in pieces. When he did he stopped, took a breath, and then waded carefully through the wreckage until he finally reached the edge of the hanger, nothing but vines hanging down over it's opening, coupled with the plant life growing at the edges that he peered out over. When he did, his cobalt eyes searched for the Sith that they had been warned of.
