Dragon Age: Inquisition

[member="Enigma"]
Never played DA2 beyond trying it with a friend on their PS3. I still get pretty much everything, but I'm sure there's a reference that I missed because of this. Either way, as long as you have some knowledge of DAO you pretty much understand everything except for the Mage-Templar war, which I had no idea happened because I didn't play DA2. And from what I found out after researching it, even playing DA2 left you confused as far as the war goes, because it seemed more or less like the conflict wasn't going to branch out like it did. DAI is quite standalone, althought there are references you would have had to have played the prior prequels to understand. DAO is constantly referenced, mainly with the Grey Wardens and with many others depending on your Dragon Age Keep choices.

Yes, it does seem likeDA2 has been rightfully forgotten. After all, nothing really of interest happens in it. You play a minor figure in a minor city doing relatively minor stuff. DA1 had action, kings falling and great wars by contrast.

I’m loving the open environments of DA3 though.

LOL, I was initially like “Ooh, elf rogue and fem romance option!”

And now I’m more like…is she a mentally deficient cockney?

The problem is that she’s just not very funny. It could have been funny to have an off the wall, quirky rogue, a bit like my character Kalinai. But…yeah, it’s not funny.

Other characters are fine. Lost opportunity there.

Of course, she might improve. Maybe.

I loved Blackwall's story. He is my of my favourite companions in the game. Oh and Cassandra too, she is simply awesome.

Still not finished with the main story. Going at it step by step.

But damn, some of these choices are intense. Also, Knight-Enchanter is stupid broken.

[member="Cyrus Tregessar"], I think Sera is a big hit or miss. I've heard the same from others about how atrocious she is while others seem to adore her. I just tolerate her in my playthrough since the Red Jenny's are a big benefit regardless.

I had such high hopes for her. According to everyone I've talked to, and what I've seen, my hopes have flown out the window.
Now I have a broken heart, a broken computer, and a broken window.

It's fething cold in here now, damn it...

THERE WAS SO MUCH HOPE FOR THAT LITTLE WEIRDO
IT
IT IS ALL GONE.

Now if you excuse me, I have a window (and a computer) to fix.

On the other hand, so far (24 hours in) I'm liking Blackwall a lot, I didn't expect that.
Blackwall's interactions with the party are probably the best. I'm going the Knight-Enchanter route, so it allows me to bring whoever I want for the sake hearing the banter. I went through one map with him and Dorian. They hated each other in the beginning and at the end they were best bros.

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
Well the epilogue was awesome and I got to say this... romancing Morrigan and getting her pregnant best choice. The dialogue could be setup maybe for dlc or expansions and with everything happening in the wardens you never know. Cassandra, Varric and Seras are my team with some of the most fun.

Went back and started a mage playthrough again this time to just have some fun and see how Cullen acts knowing a warden mage, mage champion and mage inquisitor.

Happy bump!

I finished the game. I'm in love. It's the best game in the series so far, despite a few drawbacks that I'm hoping patches will fix (like auto attacking and the bits that you can tell in advance are waiting for expensive DLC).

I've got almost 150 hours in this. First playthrough was human mage wanting to do the right thing and surprisingly ended up falling in love with Cullen (DONT ASK ME HOW I thought I wanted Blackwell first).

Now I'm playing a Dalish elf athiest who hates everyone. It's lovely. I LOVE IT!

Oh Inquisition...

I'm a huge Dragon Age fan.

The second game left something to be desired, but it was still entertaining.

Inquisition devastated me though.

Wait ... I can't import my choices? Eventually I got the keep choices put together, but it just wasn't the same since you could pick anything you wanted. In twenty years is that keep website going to be available? Not very likely.

I got over that and started playing the game ... Oh my god the graphics were atrocious!

I just had to get used to them though. They look fine to me now and I am on the 360 so I imagine the textures pop faster on the newer systems. Still it does shock me that the lip gloss made it past the alpha or beta stages. Thank god you can turn that setting down for the male characters.

It took me a while to get the character to look good, but I eventually starting playing and literally JUMPING around. I'm actually very happy with the game now.

My mistake was holding off on the story to go knock out the hinterlands and a couple surrounding areas. I burned myself out. I need to get back into it and focus back on the story.

I will say that I haven't been super happy with the romance choices though. Maybe the characters will grow on me as I go.

The Second Seal, broken.
wooooo. Just finished tonight. <3

87 hours, or something like that :D

Ok, so it was a long 87 hours, granted, but that's a given with that many open locations. I have to say, I had my doubts about Bioware x Sandbox, but it turned out better than I expected. I had thought there'd be a more concrete link between separate maps/places, but that's just a detail, I suppose. The game is truly massive, and I definitely enjoyed exploring the wide open spaces. :D

The graphics were amazing, and I didn't even crank it up to the highest setting (old graphics card=lag). In any case, I loved the diversity, there was a lot of gorgeous going on.

The story... ehh. I've never been a sucker for the "chosen one" stuff, but this one had a few good twists, I suppose. I picked the templars in the first playthrough, and I'm definitely going again at least once more to try out the mages.

The crafting system was a bit of a downer for me. Honestly, all of the armors looked really similar for a certain class. It was really just pattern/color changes. Meh. That could've definitely been done better, but at least we got to customize our companions too, lol. x)

There were a few other things that bugged me, but the general impression is game=awesome. 8.5/10 would recommend. ;)

yeah, I agree. I found the "masterwork" designs pretty lacking, honestly. The only way to milk them to their fullest was if you used dragon crafting materials, and there was a very limited supply of those. :(

also, I was kinda disappointed w/ the boss/corypheus fight. the last dragon (highland ravager, I think?) was waaaay harder for me than the ol' cory. idk if it was meant to be that way or what... *shrugs*
