Each Day's a Gift and Not a Given Right

A small giggle escaped her lips, "When you put it that way ... I suppose there is." Said with a grin spreading across her lips.

"Well...." A blush spread across her cheeks, because this was rather embarrassing no matter how she put it. "Without illusions, and the force .. I can't really fight my way out of a wet paper bag without the force... So maybe there. And umm..." Coryth bit at her lip, completely ashamed to admit this, "First and last time I was handed a blaster, I... uh... umm... " Just say it already! It's not THAT bad. You just shot the guy in the foot. How bad can it really be? I SHOT THE GUY IN THE FOOT! HOW CAN IT BE WORSE THAN THAT! Well, when you put it that way .... She's gunna find out you suck with weapons eventually. "How do I put this ... I ... er ... I shot my trainer in the foot. Sooo.... there's that as well." There was a reason she stuck to powerful Illusions and tricks of the mind, those seemed sooo much easier than dealing with a blaster, or any other firearm to say the least.

There was a pause. Kaida looked...close to amused, then shrugged nonchalantly, as if it weren't a big deal. There were situations where her stoicisim and generally taciturn nature came in handy. "Ok. I'll just wear armour when we're on the shooting range and give you low-powerd blasters. Guess this means I'll have to be very hands-on." No, not making bad innuendo at all, all spoken stoically.

Coryth looked rather ... mortified about saying that aloud. It was a rather embarrassing detail of her past that she usually never mentioned. "That, is probably an extremely wise idea." The redhead, wasn't good at everything after all. And well, any weapon but a saber was a risk for her. Even the saber was debatable. "And yes, hands on, really can't hurt in this case." In that case, it would probably keep Kaida a little safer. "And sudden movements, probably not a good idea. After all, that's what got him shot... He startled me." She said with her eyes back on the table, biting nervously at her lip.

"I used to accidentally freeze things a lot. Weapons, drink, almost froze myself in once when I was having a bath," Kaida confessed. Suffice to say her sister Lavina had teased her mercilessly about that. Speaking of Lavina, [member="Valiens Nantaris"] should go make an NPC sub for her! "Froze myself whilst trying to summon an ice barrier. It was awkward."

It seemed that Coryth was retreating back into her shyness and embarrassment, but Kaida, who was apparently feeling less frigid, was not having that, so she gently raised the redhead's chin, leaning close to her. "Look, it's fine. Accidents happen. 'sides, I don't mind being hands-on. I have it under good authority you like a...dominant hand."

"Wow, I never really had anything like that happen. Though I did break a few things, shattered really when I got upset when I was younger." She finally chuckled softly. "I can only imagine. Awkward would be a small understatement there. Can't imagine how you managed to keep your head being frozen like that. I know, I would have panicked." To Coryth it showed the woman's strengths to be able to handle such and not only survive but more than that, thrive.

Once more Kaida lifted her chin."Suppose that's true." The redhead glanced to the Eldorai, a small small forming upon her lips. "I certainly didn't mind yours last night."

Coryth was so far doing a good job making Kaida get flustered and increasing her desire to help the redhead out of her clothes again. The compliments did not hurt either. "Keep up that train of thought and we probably won't make it back to the bedroom before you have no clothes on and I'm bending you over the table," Kaida said...then flushed very strongly. Well, as a matter of fact she looked a lot like a little firemane at present.

She gulped down her drink. It seemed to help her regain her composure. "I'm...not normally this open about this sort of thing. I guess you bring it out in me. If I'm making you uncomfortable or being too forward, please say." Aww, wasn't she being adorable? As for being able to break out of an ice block, that was actually required for Angelii cryomancers. Training from hell indeed.

"Mmmmhmmm, That sounds like my idea of a fun evening." Said with a wink. Coryth couldn't recall the last time she'd been this open about such matters. Flirting, she'd just not done it, in so long. Truth be told she'd never really been that interested until Siobhan started introducing her to more sexual things. Making her realise she was missing out, had missed out.

"Honestly, Kaida. I'm not either. It's a bit strange for me to do... as I'm rather shy and reserved most of the time. But here... now, with you. It's different and I like that." She smiled sweetly, "No, you haven't made me uncomfortable yet. However, I will let you know if that ever happens."

"Different with me. I take it that makes me a special snowflake then?" Kaida asked rhetorically, then smiled. Yes, you heard that right, the frost elf just smiled. Coryth truly had magical powers of persuasion. So much that the frost elf was feeling unnaturally bold and this time she could not pin the blame on being intoxicated by alcholic drinks. You see, sometimes bad decisions...turned out to be not so bad after all. And so she reached out with one of her hands to gently thread her fingers through the firemane and pull Coryth into a deep kiss. Gentle and just a bit hesitant at first, but by no means lacking in passion and gradually increasing.

A bright smile spread across her lips, "Yes, it does." Feeling the happiness radiating from Kaida, in her smile ... Just made Coryth all the happier herself. Something just felt normal about being out with a woman, having a good bit of conversation, and enjoying herself in the company of others.

A tiny squeal of delighted surprise escaped Coryth's lips, as Kaida locked with hers. For a moment she hesitated, but it didn't take her long to return the passion as she slowly wrapped her arms around the Eldorai to extend the intimacy.

The two were obviously acquiring an audience, but Kaida did not seem to care much at present. Rather she was completely focused on the beautiful redhead sitting across her. Well, as a matter of fact she was mostly focused upon claiming her lips and plundering her mouth. Kaida was often socially awkward, emotionally closed off and rather cold in personality, but all this seemed to melt away during acts of passion, as they did now. Well, her lips might have a certain coolness to them!

As Coryth wrapped her arms around the Angelii she pulled her closer, heatedly matching her passion stroke for stroke. Eventually she withdrew, though mostly due to the need for oxygen, looking rather flushed but not particularly embarassed. She certainly looked very content. "You're a...very good kisser," even Kaida seemed lost for words for the moment, then she abruptly took the redhead's hand. The little hand seemed to fit perfectly in hers, for the moment at least. Just two women finding some comfort and frienship amidst the storm of chaos that had overtaken the galaxy. Whether it would become something more was an entirely different question, but for now Kaida was not giving thought to that.

"Let's go," she said and then, well, stuff happened. Sorry, readers, but you do not need to know everything. Suffice to say a couple days passed. Presumably Kaida became less frigid and awkward, Coryth enjoyed her, ahem, dominant hand and her recovery proceeded smoothly.

Coryth was blushing as Kaida pulled away. A small little squeak escaped her as the Eldorai took her hand and took off with her. There was no argument at all against the woman taking her wherever she wanted. And yes, stuff happened. Fun stuff. But we have to leave something to the imagination.

Coryth most certainly had enjoyed the .. dominate hand. And so time had passed and Coryth awoke, showering and dressing quickly. She came out in a simple white shirt and a pair of loose fitting pants. Her feet were bare as always, and all her scars on full display. Though she frankly had gotten over what people thought about her scars and her body. It was a sign that she'd survived horrors beyond what most could imagine. They were not who she was, and did not define her. Just merely a part of her that she'd come to terms with. Now just to find Kaida for the training they had planned.

At the prearranged time Coryth would find Kaida in what passed for a training room. The Angelii happened to be the terribly punctual sort. Oh, and yes, she was quite obviously checking the little redhead out when she entered because, well, Coryth was hot and Kaida was clearly feeling more comfortable with letting her appreciation of the short stack of fire's assets show. It did not help that Coryth was only wearing a simple white shirt and rather loose fitting pants, which seemed to fit her quite nicely.

"Hey." The greeting was laconic, as usual. The kiss Kaida planted on Coryth's lips was the exact opposite. Obviously Kaida also saw Coryth's scars, given that they were on full display. However, one could not find a trace of pity in her eyes. "I'd ask about the history beyond those scars, but I don't want to pry. You must be very strong to have endured that and risen above it. You ready?"

The kiss left Coryth with a girlish smile. Though that quickly faded away, "It's a long story anyway. Someday I'll tell you where they came from, who made them upon my skin and why." Truly, it really was a long story, long and painful.

Breathing in deeply, she let it out in a slow sigh, "As I'll ever be for getting my ass handed to me, or rightly embarrassed. So, yes. Ready. I think." The nerves were certainly starting to show through with her. This whole situation made her a fair bit anxious, and it showed.

One advantage of being terribly taciturn by nature was that on occasion you knew when not to pry, even if you really wanted to. "Ok," Kaida said simply, looking sympathetic and feeling slightly guilty about the smile vanishing from Coryth's face. Likewise the signs of anxiety and nervousness did not escape the Angelii.

"Hey, it's a nice arse. I'd never kick it....just grab it at most." Kaida's attempts at flirting were not getting any better, but perhaps the lame lines would cheer Coryth up a bit. Or make her laugh about the fact that the Eldorai's choice of pick-up lines was awful. As if to emphasise the point, her hand travelled down Coryth's back and gave the redhead's butt a good grope. Then she as all business again as she stepped away, at a good distance away from Coryth before she took the lightsabre from her belt and ignited it. "Speaking frankly, I'm not a blademistress."

With a snap-hiss, the brilliant yellow blade sprung to life. Because Kaida had something like a brain she was smart enough to keep the pointy end away from her face, unlike a certain annoying farmboy. "Ignite your blade. When was the last time you used it?"

A bright laugh escaped her lips, "Well I can't complain about that." A small squeal came as Kaida grabbed her toosh. The redhead had not expected that.

At least some of her nerves had melted away as Kaida stepped back. Coryth nodded as the Eldorai ignited her saber. For a moment she thought, as she reached down grabbing the blade. With a snap-hiss she lit the familiar green blade. "Hmmm... Gehenna. Just cut the sorcerer in half. Didn't really ... fight beyond that." Taking a step back herself, she shifted the blade into her left hand always favoring it. "Needless to say, it's been a while. I barely use it at all." Sure as hell really don't practice with it these days.... It's just a decoration on my belt most days.

Kaida listened, then nodded. "I see," she said. "Truth be told, I'm no blademistress. I've used this weapon a lot less than my Sciia." Perhaps the battle on Sullust, where she had faced hordes of Klaxxi with her sarix, had caused a bit of a reassessment for her. Or mabye her writer has just decided to finally try their hand at...sabre fighting. She eyes Coryth carefully, noting that she had moved her green blade into her left hand.

Coryth...did not seem the type to attack first, so it would be left to the Angelii. However, Kaida was not really the sort to play by the rules, being a combat pragmatist and stuff. And so, some quick Sciiac manipulation of the moisture in the air right in front of Coryth later, drops of water were suddenly being tossed into her eyes. Well, the elf was obviously attempting to do that, whether it would work was another question. Then suddenly Kaida stepped in fast, quickly crossing the distance between them, as as she executed a quick slash at Coryth's sword hand, aiming to knock the weapon out of her grasp. Needless to say Kaida's lightsabre was set on stun. While the Angelii had a tendency of practicing training from hell, they were not nuts.

Coryth to say the least was not expecting what happened next. Water in her eyes, not playing by the rules... The redhead played fair in her engagements. Though, hardly a soul in this galaxy ever played fair, which left the tiny Jedi holding the short of the stick. Opponents were supposed to play fair too! Or at least that was the delusion that Coryth stuck to. The redhead stumbled a step backwards as a hand came up trying to get the water from her eyes.

On sense alone she felt danger but not in time to really do anything about it. Kaida's blade clashed with hers and her wrist pushed to an extreme was forced to release the weapon to prevent injury. If anything showing just how rusty the redhead was with a saber. On instinct alone, Coryth still not able to see did the only thing she could think of to push the Eldorai back. She reached into the tangled web of power and yanked hard on the strands of power before she unleashed a powerful blast of telekinetic power towards the blonde to force the woman back. All so she could have the space to clear her eyes and get her blade back.

Kaida liked to play dirty. On and off the battlefield! As Coryth's lightsabre fell out of her grasp Kaida seized it with a quick telekinetic pull. She wa about to perform another strike, this time a swipe against Coryth's head to knock her out of the game, when she was suddenly confronted with a powerful blast of telekinesis. Now, Kaida was a maste and had become quite proficient at defensive techniques, but it stood to reason that although she tried to brace and ground herself, it was not sufficient to withstand the force push.

And so, as a consequence, she was tossed a good way across the training room towards the wall. It also stood to reason that one or two ribs might have been broken when the blast crashed into her, though as she reached the wall she was able to spin and kick off against it, meaning that she tumbled to the ground rather than smashing into the wall. However, the impact still hurt like the Dickens and made her head spin. A normal being would have probably been at least crippled by the impact, if not killed. There was plenty of space between her and the redhead now, as she found once she got the spinning inside her head under control.

With a groan Kaida got to her feet, gripping her lightsabre once again. Unlike so many characters in video games, she did not see much of a point in trying to dual-wield a lightsabre, which most of the time only looked silly anyway, or so she thought. Once Coryth started using her illusions, she would be in trouble, so it was best to go on the offence against before the short stack of fire could mind frak her. And so, Kaida harnessed her Sciia, in particular her power over all that was cold and watery.

Her focus, in this case, was not upon Coryth, but on the floor right beneath her little, cute feet. To be specific, she was exerting her power to quickly make the ground...very wet and thus very slippery in an attempt to knock her off-balance. Even if it did not work and the redhead adjusted to it, it would perhaps be a distraction. What was more, as the general temperature in the room suffered a massive drop, the moisture gathering upon the floor would grow colder and colder until it reached almost freezing point, with the Cryomancer aiming to bind Coryth to the ground as the moisture hardened, rendering her limbs first sluggish and then unable to move without significant effort. Not enough to lock her in an ice block, but it should muck her up. Of course, it was almost a given that this would piss the redhead off, which would be hot and explosive. If it worked out, Kaida would be trying to close the distance and take another swipe at the redhead.

Coryth found the environment suddenly changing as she finally cleared her eyes enough to see. Kaida was on the other side of the room and her saber ... Well Kaida had that too by the looks of it as she dared to look for it, for a brief moment. She needed something anything to keep the Eldorai back. As the redhead moved across the ground, she couldn't help but notice the moisture on the ground causing a small slip before she recovered managing to adjust. But there was more to it than that, Coryth suddenly wished she had worn a lot more clothing as the temperature dropped. Frak! Realized perhaps a little too late as her bare feet started to adhere to the floor.

Breathing in, trying to compose herself... She had to think fast. Pulling upon the force Coryth quickly wrapped herself in a veil of light rendering herself invisible for the moment. Further more, the environment would seem to change around them. A forest suddenly popping up around them. Silence. Far too quiet for the situation, but then a nexu would swing from a nearby tree aiming to knock Kaida to the ground and pin her there if it could. Hopefully it would buy her time to get her feet free. Somehow she had to figure that part out and fast.

[member="Coryth Elaris"]

And suddenly Coryth had vanished from her sight and they were in a forest! Oh, and a nexu was attacking her. The forest felt feal. As a matter of fact, it even smelt real. As for the nexu, it certainly did seem extremely real when without further warning it swung itself down from a nearby tree and pounced upon Kaida.

The Angelii was not fast enough and soon found herself falling to the ground. The vicious claws of the beast and its sharp teeth tore at her, seemingly drawing blood, but her hand found her sabre and she shore one of its legs off. As the animal came at her again she thrust her lightsabre into its mouth. The creature...did not vanish or dissipate after being touched. The pain from the impact and from its bite into her hand felt very real as well, even the blood dripping down her face. However, while this seemed strange, it had to be an illusion, or at least Kaida surmised. After all, until not so long ago they had been in the training room and unless Coryth could teleport, they were still there.

Still if she could make a forest so vivid, who was to say that she could not conjure up a small horde of nexu? Needless to say Kaida would not be able to fight an entire forest. Though presumably that would be quite taxing for the redhead, at least in the long-term. Well, if the mentalist had conjured up such an environment, then Kaida would exploit it. For all she knew, Coryth had managed to free herself and was somewhere entirely else.

Then the key would lie in breaking her concentration and ideally keeping her in place. Fortunately, cryomancy could get rather nasty and had some handy area of effect tricks, As Kaida focused and drew upon the tangled web of the Force...to unleash the full power of ice and water, manifesting a powerful wind that with each passing moment increased in violence and intensity. However, it was not just a wind, for with it came a numbing cold and a blizzard that lessened visibility and could chill even the stone hearts of Kar'zun. With the powerful storm came the cold and the snow, all propelled at great speed as it was sucked into the whirlwind. Needless to say...it became a good deal colder in the room, both in the real one and in the illusionary. Moisture on the ground would be rapidly increasing, and hardening even more. The wind would howl and the trees would shake under the enormous intensity and the strength of the sustained winds and soon be covered in snow. Well, the illusionary trees, but you get the picture. This would be a queen to clean up after they were done.
