Empire Ablaze

Vickers wore his leg armor and chest piece, but he didn't have time to gear up his arms or take his helmet before the attack. He quickly grabbed his carnage rifle and the imperial flag he had hung in his personal locker. The sergeant had resisted the orders of Lord Revere like many others. His squad however had deserted. He sat atop a building overlooking parliament, weapon drawn. Quickly he ducked down in cover the wind and light rain behind a wall as a group of three transports began to descend down at the bottom of the parliaments steps. Quickly he adjusted his cap and switched his headset, which lay atop his white cap, on.

"Sergeant Vickers of the 129th infantry company of the 1st infantry assault division. We have bogies landing at the parliament. A large troop movement." Vickers moved to his legs and crouch ran to another section of the flat roof for a better view. "Confirmed, repeat, confirmed. Revere is with them."

There was a sizzle over the radio, then a female voice started. "10-4 Vickers, maintain cover and report any further developments."

"10-4."

Vickers moved quickly and ran to the ledge of the room, jumping across to the flat roof of another building. He cleared the gap and held to the side of the wall before pulling himself up completely with a grunt. Quickly Vickers moved to a little wall above the roof to which he could hide behind. Looking across the open lawn of the parliament building, Vickers squinted to see inside the main chambers. He quickly reached to his belt and unhooked a pair of binoculars. As he brought them to his face he could clearly see Revere talking to the council.

"Command, this is Vickers again."

"HMS Indomitable to Vickers, go ahead."

"I have eyes on Supreme Commander Revere, he has successfully taken parliament... Wait..."

"What is it Vickers?"

The sergeant helplessly watched as a unit of troops lined up an opened fire before seeing Revere turn and mumble something to himself.

"The council... God dammit... Revere just executed the imperial council."

"10-9 Vickers."

"Revere just ordered his men to execute the imperial council. He visually shouted something before having the entire room gunned down."

There was a moment of silence followed by a light exchange between the woman and a male before she finally replied, "10-4 Vickers, you have been ordered to disengage. Make it to market street near town square and rendezvous with a transport we are sending down."

"Copy that."

Vickers pushed a magazine into his rifle and pulled the bolt, charging a round into the chamber. Quickly he pulled a little sack he had in his bag off. He reached inside and pulled out the folded flag. He lay straightened it and then folded it horizontally in half. He wrapped it around his right arm and pinned it down. Quickly he closed his eyes, letting out a light prayer and hoping some greater power would bring him luck. Quickly he slipped the bag back on and grabbed his rifle off the floor.

Vickers ran to the edge of the room and turned, quickly jumping down to a platform and then scaling down the wall. He moved swiftly and silently down the edge of the road. Quickly he head voices up ahead and stopped. A squad of troopers with their flashlights on in the quickly darkening street walked across an intersection. The sergeant watched them pass and then stood and swiftly darted across. He ran down the main road past a row of shops and bakers before slowing and stopping, he looked up.

"Market street."

Vickers peaked around the corner, in front of him walked a lone soldier in a black formal uniform.

"Revere's men..."

Vickers zeroed in through his scope. He tracked the movement and compensating. His finger lay on the trigger with some preassure. He line it up perfectly and squeezed the trigger. The bolt flew from the barrel and down the street, striking the man in the back of the head. Quickly the sergeant looked each direction. "All clear," he whispered to himself. Quickly he stood a began to run down market street. As he approached he pulled a tablet off the side of his backpack. He quickly pushed a green button and it began pulsing a transmitting sign. He reached back and remounted the tablet with his left hand. Vickers looked up and seen a little dot of light rapidly descend. Quickly it pulled up and straightened before turning towards the square. Off in the distance he heard shouting. The craft came down and landed next to a statue of Harris and the ramp lowered. Vickers turned to see a group of storm troopers funneling into the square.

"There he is, blast him!"

Quickly Vickers turned and ran for the craft, turning and firing as he reached the ramp. The group of troops were firing at him with their standard issue rifles. He noticed two men set up a bipod and he fired once more before turning and running up the ramp. Quickly he spotted the green light next to the door and punched it. The light pushed in and turned to a pulsing red. The ramp raised as the ship lifted from the ground. Vickers ran to the back and looked up the ladder to the man in the pilots chair.

"Get us the blazes out of here!"

The man nodded and pulled back on the flight stick. Vickers held on as the ship tilted back. The pilot slammed forwards the throttle, the ship shook with the rattle of an impact as round struck it before rocketing upwards and out of the atmosphere.

After a few minutes, the ship steadied out and the ship slowed. Their was a sudden rush of noise as the sounds of the engines loudened. The ship slowly touched down inside the hanger of the Indomitable, one of the few Fel ISD's still up and running since the collapse. The light turned green and the ramp lowered. As it opened, Vickers noticed a man standing outside. As the ramp lowered completely he smiled and approached him before saluting.

"Sergeant Vickers at your service your majesty."

"Come with me sergeant, I've heard rumors but you need a proper debrief."

"Yes sir."

Alexander turned and began to walk away, Vickers right behind him.

ES could see this was a difficult situation Kalic was outnumbered and worst they had to be very careful fighting this close to the city, he flew next to [member="Kalic Daws"] and gave him a salute. Quickly he pushed the sticks forward diving down ES attempted to herd the enemy bombers towards his allies so they would have an easier time.

" We couldn't let you have all the fun "

ES fired his lasers at the enemy bombers, he would not destroy them but it would push them back towards the others while they tried to evade ES.

Quickly he the other member made quick work of a couple bombers, these traitors had made a nasty mess to clean up, while they handled the skies someone would need to handle finding the ground forces.

Kalic pulled his fighter around until he noticed ES pull his fighter next to the Starcrest and gave the pilot a salute. The Miraluka returned the gesture, before following the fighters into the fray. The Y-Wing's four lasers opened up on the bombers, with the turret now locked forward. It was then that Jee whistled over the comms channel.

("There's a transport taking off.") Kalic focued on his flying, but soon gave Jee orders to track where the craft was headed. As he kept on fighting, the droid soon called out that it was heading to a ship in orbit. Kalic checked his sensors for a second before calling back to his droid.

"Try to establish contact. See if there friendly, and if they can provide some sort for the ground." Jee let out a whistle, and quickly tried to get in contact with the orbiting vessel

("Orbiting ship, this is G3-D9, gunner and astromech for the Starcrest. Please tell us you're on our side.")

"He's mad. The people would have never supported that."

Alexander shook his head distastefully and then rose his hand motioning for Vickers to leave. "Dismissed sergeant." The soldier nodded and walked out of the room. Alexander lay back in the chair of Harris' personal quarters, thinking of what to do. He turned into the chair to face the bed and looked up at the imperial flag hanging behind it on the wall. He whispered to himself.

"What would you do?"

Alexander whipped around in his chair and nearly fell out of it. He straightened himself in the chair and looked dead into Harris' eyes.

"Your alive? They told me they'd alert me if you woke."

"Well, it wasn't exactly good timing."

Harris smirked and then stepped in, walking towards his dresser and slipping I proper shirt on over his bandaged bare chest.

"Well then, I have a call to make."

Harris looked at him as he went to get up and held his hand out standoffishly.

"What are you doing? We have to talk, call in the bridge and tell them to send a distress call and have all loyalist forces rendezvous in orbit."

Fel lifted his arm and began to tell the bridge.

Maximilian approached the large vessel in his personal Y-8 mining ship. Max opened comms with the ship to request clearance to come aboard.

"Hello hello, my name is Maximilian Verulius, I am a citizen of the Fel Empire, I wish to serve on behalf of the Grand Premier! Do you read me?!"

"We copy Mr. Verulius, we have you on radar, and we have indeed confirmed your citizenship, were granting you permission to land in hangar B, section 2, go there and meet Commander Wills, he will be looking for you in your Y - 8. Expect him to be there waiting for you!"

"Thank you sir, I will get there as fast as I can!"

Max observed the radar panel above him in the cockpit of his Y - 8, he saw that the Throne had marked the location of hangar B for him. He turned a hard right and headed straight for Hangar B. He approached the hangar slowly, ensuring his safety and the safety of the hangar, he slowly entered, a traffic control officer on the ship directed him towards an empty spot in section B of the hangar, he followed each and every direction the officer gave him, and managed to land his ship safe and sound.

Max landed his ship, unbuckled himself from his seat, and walked out the back of his cockpit, into the ships hall, approached the airlock and opened it with the press of a button. He walked out greeted by a tall, stern man wearing the signature imperial blues. His designation read Wills.

"Are you commander Wills, sir?!"

"Yes Mr. Verulius! Now, you have come all this way to serve on behalf of our Grand Premier I presume?!"

"Yes sire! I have seen my nation torn apart by civil war too long. Now may you direct me to the Premier himself?!"

"You may see the Premier soon but not yet, I have other important matters which I need to attend to, I will bring in a squad, they will escort you to the Grand Premier!"

"Thank you sir."

"Thank you for volunteering Mr. Verulius, But if you'll excuse me I must now go."

Commander Wills began to walk away, he began to speak into his radio piece, showing Max that he was calling for his escort squad...

"Oh, uh Good day, sir!"

Max sat himself down next to the ramp of the airlock from which he came out of. He observed the scarring on his left hand, and pondered his accident on Mustafar which had caused his injury. Soon a squad of Osseriton storm troopers approached him. There were four men in total, the one closest to Max said,

"Are you Maximilian Verulius, the citizen who wishes to speak with the mighty Premier!?"

"Yes that would be me sir!"

"Okay follow us, We will take you to the Grand Premier."

"Thank you."

Max stood up from his spot. He began to follow the troops, he followed them around the ship, doors, hallways, and rooms until finally, they had made it to the Grand Premier!

" G3-D9 I read you we have sent down 5 fighters to help your situation we have no ground forces onboard to deploy "
The ESU Frigate's Copilot answered the transmission, the best the Frigate could do is an attack with the ordinance onboard like laser cannons and missiles. This type of attack was risky nearby the city and would need to be in an open area to use them without civilian casualty, ESU could exit their fighters and engage forces on the ground with their personal weapons but they would need to return to the Frigate to gear up and it could take some time that they do not have.

ES broke off what was left of the chase to observe the situation, he did not know where the King went or if more reinforcements were coming since most of the Fel assets were traitors now and they had no contact with the King. Still unaware Harris was alive and had returned somewhat, the tide of battle needed to be turned.

Lord Revere

Supreme Commander
Revere stood above a foldable table in the center of the parlimentary building. He watched as a team of combat medics loaded the bodies of the councilmembers onto a ship. As they finished, they boarded and left. He looked down at a small foldable computer and began to quickly type. On the screen suddenly popped up a multi-window video feed between him and 2 other men.

"Generals Miller and Keller, any new develoupments?"

"No sir, all quiet. We did spot a transport leaving for orbit, but the people haven't really resisted. I believe the populace is in our favor."

Revere shook his head. "I don't like it, and I don't trust it. Keller, you need to keep you men garrisoned throughout the city. You are dismissed."

"Yes sir." Keller leaned down and then the video feed cut out. The picture of Miller grew to encompass most of the screen now.

"Miller, It is time for an assault. We have no reason to belive that the loyalists would waste their little remaining fuel on reactivating the rest of their gargantuan fleet. It would be too big of an investment. The plan is to launch our bombers. I'm sending four squadrons supported by ten squadrons of fighters. Once we punch through their shields and have them thoroughly distracted, we send in the troops to take that ship and wipe out the last hope of a useless and broken system, Then I'll be unopposed completely."

"Outstanding sir, I will begin preparations for the siege of the throne."

Harris, followed by Fel, walked past uniformed troops and citizens in Fel blues. As he passed, people saluted or greeted him in shock of his sudden return. Harris stepped onto an elevator with Alexander and two stormtroopers piled in with them and behind him. The elevator lifted up to the bridge and Harris and the men, along with the king, stepped out. There was a low rumble of chatter between elements of the staff and an obvious argument between a naval captain and an Army commander. Harris quietly stepped into the middle of the hall at the very rear of the main bridge and crossed his arms. An officer without a cap on, with multiple metals on his chest stood and saluted.

"Premier on deck!"

Quickly the room silenced everyone saluted. Harris put his arms down at his side and walked over the the Holotable and switched on the communications line.

"This is Grand Premier William Harris of the free kingdom of osseriton, We are under attack by our own men and are experiencing what we can only describe as a sudden and violent civil war. If anyone can here this, we need help." He pushed transmit and put it on loop. Then he pulled up a 3d globe of osseriton. Harris looked around.

"Well... At easy."

Everyone relaxed and looked at him, a mix between shock, excitement, and confusion completely filled the room.

"This is no time for formalities ladies and gentlemen. Below us our home is being attacked by an ignorant man who believed that we would stand idoly by as he, driven by a hunger for power, tried to assassinate our king and further destabilize us in a time of crisis. He is dead wrong. We will not stand by, we will fight. Not amongst ourselves," Harris looked at the men who had been bickering moments before and then continued, "But those who aim to destroy what we have left. The People of the Fel Empire are a proud people. A people of class, honor, and a people with a strong military background. Our army may not be the strongest, but our people are. And let anyone who dares to attack us be damned."

Harris looked at the men as they nodded. He seen many reservists in the crowd, and two marines, A diverse crowd to be sure.

"Now... We need to get moving. Chief Petty Officer Te, We need a metric poodoo ton of fuel, and we need volunteers, reach out to the Mandalorians. They'll likely want to help.

"Sir Yes sir!" Quickly the darker skinned man in blue saluted and ran to a computer and began typing.

"The rest of you. We need the men prepared. Someone needs to contact those who can't make it out, send an encrypted message and tell them to hold off on attacks or coordinated resistance until our forces start their attack. Everyone get to your stations!" Harris walked to the navy man who stood at the other side of the table, he leaned in. "Activate 'Last Stand' protocol, activate the entire fleet and get anyone capable of working those ships to them. And call the Indomitable for our dear king."

Harris shook the mans hand and then started towards the central aisle of the ships bridge, King fel right next to him. They reached the window and watched as a star destroyer came out of hyperspace.

"Your highness, Your ship awaits."

Kalic pulled his odd fighter around, landing another bomber in his sights before pulling the trigger to end it. The pilot began to look around as he and the ESU finished off the last of the rogue bombers. He soon opened his come, calling out to the others. "ESU squadron, we may need to head back, refuel, and rearm. I'm no infantry man, and there isn't much we can do up here with risking too many lives." Kalic quickly formed up on the squadron, doing a "wing wag" to signal them before puling up and heading towards the nearest ally ship he could find. As the Starcrest slipped into the hanger of a waiting capitol ship, the Miraluka received a message that requested everyone stand down until the main attack began. Kalic was quick to reply back. "This is the Starcrest. We're landing aboard a starship now to rearm and refuel. Just give us our orders when it's time."

After landing, Kalic quickly got out of the Y-Wing, followed by Jee, and looked at one of the hanger workers. "Hey! Can you guys get that girl armed and ready. Load whatever we'll need for whatever they're planning."

No more needed to be said ES pulled up on the stick making his way for orbit, the battle was over the best thing would be to refuel gather some supplies and group up with the others so they have a better chance at defeating the enemy.

" ESU, head back to the ESU Frigate prepare yourselves for a ground assault "

ES made his way to the Frigate, as he got close he received the transmission that Harris had returned, this gave us a chance to coordinate and fight back.

" Refill my fighter and load the missiles "

" As you wish " the droid started his tasks.

ES made his way to the armory grabbing his explosives, DLT-19D Heavy blaster rifle, Vibro-Blade, next he made his way to the communication room to speak with the others.

The Warfighter
Drez and his band of clone troopers were onboard a shuttle and had just come out of hyperspace over the planet of Osseriton to quickly stop to refuel. They were on their way back to Mandalore for what might be a job for them to complete. However, there was a distress beacon coming from the planet down below, and the incoming transmission was put through to them.

The troopers listened to the transmission from some guy named Harris and they were able to understand that a coup d'etait had just happened on the planet and a civil war had just erupted. The transmission seemed to be set on loop as well, allowing them to listen to the situation numerous times. While the troopers didn't want to engage in a civil war, their fuel had almost run out and so they had no choice but to descend to the planet's surface, much to their dismay.

Drez sent out a response to the transmission. "Whoever this is, Midnight Squad reads you. We could assist you for a short time as we need fuel for our shuttle. Give us rendezvous coordinates and we'll be there soon."

The shuttle halted it's descent through the atmosphere, concealing itself in the clouds, while the troopers awaited a response from the source of the signal.

[member="Premier William Harris I"]

Alexander stood upon the bridge of the indominatable. He looked out and seen a small craft approach the planet. As soon as he noticed it, the ship dipped into the atmosphere. Suddenly a communications officer called the King.

"Your Highness, we are recieving a transmission."

Fel walked towards the officer and sent out a ping to the source of the transmission.

Drez said:
"Whoever this is, Midnight Squad reads you. We could assist you for a short time as we need fuel for our shuttle. Give us rendezvous coordinates and we'll be there soon."
The King started, "Hello there, King Alexander Fel of the Fel Empire, we are in a bit of bad situation here and definitely need some help. Come to the fleet in orbit and land on the ship designated 'The Throne,' It's a modified star destroyer with red markings. Land and talk to William Harris. He is head of government and acting supreme commander of the military. He'll get you squared away. Fuel free of charge if you help."

Alor of Clan Gred, Mando'ad'jetii
Within hyperspace, a newly updated Kom'rik and modified MC-18 traveled towards Osseriton. Each bore the insignia of the Mandalorian Clan Gred, and the MC-18 possessed a pair of heavy lasers on its starboard side. The clan was coming in to do mercenary work for the Fel Empire. Mig walked up the the control center of the Kom'rk's cockpit, looking past his sister, Liddin. He then spoke up. "So what do you think about this?"

"Definitely not a blue milk run, but hopefully we'll have enough loyalists to not have too much trouble." Mig simply nodded as the pair of vessels exited hyperspace and gave their crew their first sight of the world. It was then that they received the mayday call. Liddin quickly flipped a couple of switches before opening the comms. "This the Kom'rk transport and Basilisk of Clan Gred. We hear your mayday and are here to provide some mercenary work for you."

The troopers acknowledged the instructions and proceeded to take the shuttle back up the atmosphere to the planet's orbit. "Well, looks like we're going to have to go all the way back up." Lex said in a disgruntled tone.

A few minutes later, the shuttle exited the planet's atmosphere and immediately proceeded to head towards the fleet in orbit. They were instructed to land on a star destroyer with red markings, which reminded them of the star destroyers they once traveled on during the Clone Wars.

"Keep your weapons locked and loaded. We don't know exactly the situation. So until I figure out what's going on, I want you guys to stay hidden on the shuttle." Drez ordered the clone troopers. Since none of them knew anybody in this sector, they would have to be wary at all times. It could be a trap after all. Hijackers and slavers were known to utilize this method at times, which Drez experienced first hand many years ago.

The shuttle entered the star destroyer's hangar and lowered the ramp while landing. Drez had all his blasters fully armed, yet away in their holsters, before departing the shuttle, awaiting whoever or whatever might come at him at the moment.

[member="King Alexander Fel I"] [member="ES-06"] [member="Premier William Harris I"]

Sergeant vickers and a small squad of troopers marched into the hanger and watched the ship touch down. The group slowed and watched as the ramp lowered. The four men who followed him formed two columns behind him and readied their rifles just in case the situation got bad. Vickers moved up to the ramp as the men stood behind, he ducked his head a little and looked up.

"Hello up there, I'm sergeant Vickers of His Majesties Royal Army. We would like to discuss the nature if your visit if you and your men could come down."

[member="Drez"]

The Warfighter
Drez completed his descent down the ramp and stopped a few feet in front of Sergeant Vickers. He quickly examined the area around him and thought up of an escape plan if the situation got bad. While the 5 soldiers looked easy to take out if needed, he didn't know their strengths.

"What's the situation at hand?" Drez asked the sergeant, not revealing his name. He wanted to keep his identity hidden for now, at least until he can confirm that these soldiers are friendly. He also waited before giving his troopers the 'okay' signal to come down.

"Well, we are experiencing a situation brought upon us by our supreme commander of the military. He didn't agree with our choice of king and Attempted to assassinate him during his corination, when he failed he siezed parliament before bombing the royal palace and killing half the government."

Vickers shifted.

"We could really use some help if you and your men are willing."

[member="Drez"]

The Warfighter
"Oh believe me, we'd be willing to do some shooting any day. We'd be willing to help, because mainly we don't have anywhere to go without fuel, so let's make a deal first. If you're not in a high enough position to make deals, you could pass this on to your superiors." Drez started. "My men and I will assist you in whatever is needed, but we need the fuel tank on the shuttle to be filled up." Drez said as he briefly pointed at the shuttle. However, there would be more terms.

"Plus, if any of my men are injured, I'd require immediate medical assistance. Finally, in the worst case scenario that anyone unfortunately dies in combat, we'll need a good compensation." Drez said, concluding his terms and crossed his hands as he looked at [member="Sergeant Vickers"].
