TK-7475 (Storm Sentinal)
Spec Ops
Vickers wore his leg armor and chest piece, but he didn't have time to gear up his arms or take his helmet before the attack. He quickly grabbed his carnage rifle and the imperial flag he had hung in his personal locker. The sergeant had resisted the orders of Lord Revere like many others. His squad however had deserted. He sat atop a building overlooking parliament, weapon drawn. Quickly he ducked down in cover the wind and light rain behind a wall as a group of three transports began to descend down at the bottom of the parliaments steps. Quickly he adjusted his cap and switched his headset, which lay atop his white cap, on.
"Sergeant Vickers of the 129th infantry company of the 1st infantry assault division. We have bogies landing at the parliament. A large troop movement." Vickers moved to his legs and crouch ran to another section of the flat roof for a better view. "Confirmed, repeat, confirmed. Revere is with them."
There was a sizzle over the radio, then a female voice started. "10-4 Vickers, maintain cover and report any further developments."
"10-4."
Vickers moved quickly and ran to the ledge of the room, jumping across to the flat roof of another building. He cleared the gap and held to the side of the wall before pulling himself up completely with a grunt. Quickly Vickers moved to a little wall above the roof to which he could hide behind. Looking across the open lawn of the parliament building, Vickers squinted to see inside the main chambers. He quickly reached to his belt and unhooked a pair of binoculars. As he brought them to his face he could clearly see Revere talking to the council.
"Command, this is Vickers again."
"HMS Indomitable to Vickers, go ahead."
"I have eyes on Supreme Commander Revere, he has successfully taken parliament... Wait..."
"What is it Vickers?"
The sergeant helplessly watched as a unit of troops lined up an opened fire before seeing Revere turn and mumble something to himself.
"The council... God dammit... Revere just executed the imperial council."
"10-9 Vickers."
"Revere just ordered his men to execute the imperial council. He visually shouted something before having the entire room gunned down."
There was a moment of silence followed by a light exchange between the woman and a male before she finally replied, "10-4 Vickers, you have been ordered to disengage. Make it to market street near town square and rendezvous with a transport we are sending down."
"Copy that."
Vickers pushed a magazine into his rifle and pulled the bolt, charging a round into the chamber. Quickly he pulled a little sack he had in his bag off. He reached inside and pulled out the folded flag. He lay straightened it and then folded it horizontally in half. He wrapped it around his right arm and pinned it down. Quickly he closed his eyes, letting out a light prayer and hoping some greater power would bring him luck. Quickly he slipped the bag back on and grabbed his rifle off the floor.
Vickers ran to the edge of the room and turned, quickly jumping down to a platform and then scaling down the wall. He moved swiftly and silently down the edge of the road. Quickly he head voices up ahead and stopped. A squad of troopers with their flashlights on in the quickly darkening street walked across an intersection. The sergeant watched them pass and then stood and swiftly darted across. He ran down the main road past a row of shops and bakers before slowing and stopping, he looked up.
"Market street."
Vickers peaked around the corner, in front of him walked a lone soldier in a black formal uniform.
"Revere's men..."
Vickers zeroed in through his scope. He tracked the movement and compensating. His finger lay on the trigger with some preassure. He line it up perfectly and squeezed the trigger. The bolt flew from the barrel and down the street, striking the man in the back of the head. Quickly the sergeant looked each direction. "All clear," he whispered to himself. Quickly he stood a began to run down market street. As he approached he pulled a tablet off the side of his backpack. He quickly pushed a green button and it began pulsing a transmitting sign. He reached back and remounted the tablet with his left hand. Vickers looked up and seen a little dot of light rapidly descend. Quickly it pulled up and straightened before turning towards the square. Off in the distance he heard shouting. The craft came down and landed next to a statue of Harris and the ramp lowered. Vickers turned to see a group of storm troopers funneling into the square.
"There he is, blast him!"
Quickly Vickers turned and ran for the craft, turning and firing as he reached the ramp. The group of troops were firing at him with their standard issue rifles. He noticed two men set up a bipod and he fired once more before turning and running up the ramp. Quickly he spotted the green light next to the door and punched it. The light pushed in and turned to a pulsing red. The ramp raised as the ship lifted from the ground. Vickers ran to the back and looked up the ladder to the man in the pilots chair.
"Get us the blazes out of here!"
The man nodded and pulled back on the flight stick. Vickers held on as the ship tilted back. The pilot slammed forwards the throttle, the ship shook with the rattle of an impact as round struck it before rocketing upwards and out of the atmosphere.
After a few minutes, the ship steadied out and the ship slowed. Their was a sudden rush of noise as the sounds of the engines loudened. The ship slowly touched down inside the hanger of the Indomitable, one of the few Fel ISD's still up and running since the collapse. The light turned green and the ramp lowered. As it opened, Vickers noticed a man standing outside. As the ramp lowered completely he smiled and approached him before saluting.
"Sergeant Vickers at your service your majesty."
"Come with me sergeant, I've heard rumors but you need a proper debrief."
"Yes sir."
Alexander turned and began to walk away, Vickers right behind him.
