Enduring Adumar [The One Sith dominion of Adumar]

Objective: Capture Yedagon City

Late to the party once again, Valtryx let herself fall from the dropship as it flew over the residential area of the city. Using the force to keep her fall in check, she managed to land without harm in the middle of a militia squad. Their aim flailed about for the initial few seconds, surprised by the sudden appearance of the red-head. During this precious time Valtryx ignited her crimson red lightsaber, leaping forward towards her first target. A swift slice across his chest seperated him in two, allowing her to move on to another soldier within seconds.

Within half a minute several of them had fell to her blade, and now the remainder had managed to concentrate their fire. Now her stance became more defensive, deflecting the blaster bolts back at them for the moment. Once they had to reload, Valtryx unleashed her powers upon them. The first man fell to a burst of lightning, shaking his body and lighting him up a bright blue before he instantaneously died from the shock. The second felt a sharp pull, bringing him forward and causing him to be impaled in the Sith's blade. Shaking the body from her lightsaber, she focused on the last two. Drawing upon the force once again, the red-head performed a giant leap. For a moment the soldiers stood still, confused as to how the woman had disappeared so quickly. Only when they spun around did they see the red blade slash across both their necks, decapitating them both.

Lowering her blade to her side, Valtryx heaved a sigh of relief. It was good to be fighting once again, especially after taking the break from battles like this. As she broke into a run towards the center of the city, she couldn't help but smile.
If only Krest was here.

Objective 3:

Anja, like always, was being a warmongering invader in a way. Kitsune did not particularly mind, as she expected Anja in the future to help out with her endeavors for the cost of war. At the moment, as Anja's forces clashed on the front lines, Kitsune had begun setting up artillery emplacements on the outskirts of the city. Siege weaponry was essential in war; and siege weaponry is thus, what Kitsune would provide.

The Inu Clan comprised of most of the companies of Kitsune's forces, although she herself brought a personal entourage and vanguard of Samurai from the Neko Clan. At the moment, the Inu Clan was busy working on setting up, calibrating, fortifying and then finally crewing sixty Itsumade-class Proton Cannons set up at defensive line.

She watched as the battle raged on.

Objective: Take the city

As if right on cue, [member="Darth Valtryx"] would find the red man leap over her form. He had been following her, as to be expected, with the intent on protecting her. What else could you expect from the Darth at this point? Of course, his leaping over her had more reason than not. Another of the soldiers of the city had poked his head out just a moment earlier, and was in the midst of coming around to fill the female with as many blaster holes as he could. Yet, we couldn't have that could we?

The red man soared through the air, his hidden saber built into his wrist came to life. Without warning, he dropped onto the man, piratically crushing him underfoot. But the man was only bumped, bruised, and shocked at the sudden Sith Lord. So sudden, that he didn't even notice there was the palm saber buried in his chest. He died rather quickly, as his heart had been burned out of his chest.

Standing up, the blue shoto would return back into his wrist, and with a rather large grin the red man would look over his shoulder.

"Miss me?"

The beast of war reared its ugly head again, its thousand eyes set on the kneeling metropolis. Fire rained down on the citizens, and while the people of Adumar fought valiantly, their efforts were in vain when pitted against the veterans of many a world. The armored soldiers downed them by the droves, the red streaks of blaster rifles eating into poorly protected flesh with ease. They may have been skilled duelists, but planetary invasions were a specialty of the Sith, and even bottomless courage of a people fighting for their home couldn't overcome years of discipline.

"Riley," the Knight snapped as they moved from one alley to the next, "we need to take down their communications." The Sergeant nodded as they regrouped beneath a bridge, their forms hidden only briefly in the shadows it cast. Vrag looked at the soldier for a few moments, judging her competence, then deemed her good enough for the task at hand.

"Go, take a few with you and secure the station. Try not to destroy it, we could use it later on."

"Yes, ma'am!" the Sergeant saluted with a curt gesture and collected a complement of troops, then disappeared off into the maze of Yedagon in the blink of an eye. Whether or not that had been a good idea remained to be seen, but the firrerreo was already too busy coordinating their push towards the seat of the government to concern herself with such trivial things. If Riley failed, she could always send the other Sergeant to do the same; after all, who could resist the handsome face of the Durant twin?

Objective: Take the city.

The Host Lord watched from the roof of a ruined structure as her small army pressed forward, what was a battle became a Skirmish. The militia was outgunned on every corner and resorted to dirty fighting amidst the ruins of fallen homes. Crying children were left alone in the streets, their parents either fled or died; there was no hope. The mobile guns had positioned themselves in open areas and began arc-firing strategically as artillery, the slow-pounding proton weapons were quite powerful despite its poor pace and other limitations. Truthfully it was more or less blind fire by this point, with the enemy on the run their formations were becoming lax. If one wasn't careful a counterattack could prove decisive... Momentarily, but with the fleets above how did these people still have hope?

No. It wasn't hope, it was survival instinct; hope doesn't leave children in the streets to mourn. This was the act of desperation in times where one only looked out for themselves. The attack would press and even if a few narrowly escaped they would succumb to their animal instincts and one-by-one they would fall into misery and despair. That was the truth. Anja's eyes graced the crimson flames and charcoal ashes that met with the smell of burnt flesh, leaking gases, and melted materials that released themselves in a thick fume of toxins and foul scents.

The dropships from The Conquerors Ring began to swarm the planet in the form of a pestilence, vong and sith troopers working in tandem as they clouded the airspace above Yedagon City and blotted out what sun there might have been left. Metal feet clamped to duracrete as the ships ramp disengaged from the hull, crashing down to crack asphalt beneath it. The Wrath cracked his neck as he descended from the belly of the beast, approaching a sort of nonchalance that often characterized him. He had a taste for the economical, the numerous planetary invasions leaving a sort of longing in his mind. As if overwhelmed by the desire to beat the enemy not by brute force, but more disruption of necessary goods. Smiling, he lifted the datapad as a few commanders approached.

"Gentlemen..." His voice was pregnant with a cool confidence, like riding a bike, he knew this game all to well. "Internal infrastructure is an important aspect of running a city. We will cripple that ability." He squinted a crimson eye as he handed the data pad over, leading the men down the street, as he unholstered the shotgun. "Three main power generators run the city, dismantle them but leave them repairable. We'll need them back on line once this is all over. You..." Gabriel turned and placed the barrel against the chest of a man, oddly unmoved by the gesture. Interesting, he thought, as he tilted his head. "Take your group, infiltrate the closest waste water treatment facility. Bring it down, I want it offline and I want the governing body to know it."

They scattered to the winds and he was left with his own group he proceeded down the street, a killing squad in their own right. From a hairline trigger, death jumped from the barrel of the shotgun and found it's mark.

Objective: Capture Yedagon City

"Can't I get one day alone without you to go killing?" Valtryx smirked, stopping her run to watch the body of the soldier fall to Krest's palm blade. "I guess you can tag along, but keep up!" She grinned, continuing her run but this time using the force to enhance it. Her route leaded towards the city center, where explosions and blaster bolts could be seen and heard in the distance. The crimson red blade of her lightsaber remained active through it, held by her side in case enemies were to block her path.

It wasn't long before they did block her path, two squads perfectly in formation to defend the road. Valtryx leaped into the air, landing in the midst of them all. Her blade becoming a blur of red as it cut through their ranks, deflecting bolts elsewhere with each deadly slice. Of course, the group couldn't be handle alone. Hopefully Ferus had managed to keep up behind her.

She could do with a bit of help right now.

As soon as the defensive line was created, the rest of the Inu Clan immediately returned into their original positions, with exception to those serving as apart of the gunnery crew. A barrage of proton cannons began ringing through the air, supporting the pre-existing artillery but specifically pinpointing opposing strongholds and hardpoints within the city itself.

Kitsune stood on the border from the Primeval's defensive line and the city itself. She immediately began her charge forward, looking to obtain the city's riches amid the chaos. The Inu Clan obliged on her request, charging forward and moving to utilize a side route into the heart of the city, and where the city's treasury would lie.

Objective: Capture the Capital

The moment the transports set down, she and her troops went to work straightaway. The plan was simple, blitzkrieg the enemy forces until the capital was under Sith control. The plan also included several forces moving in from different directions to cause the enemy to fight on several fronts, practically squeezing the life out of them. Darth Venefica had chosen the eastern route into the capital, more for strategic purposes rather than simplicity. She wanted to observe how her new brigade, The Dagobah Knights, would perform in an actual battle scenario. Training and mock battles only told one side of the story.

"Our goal is to over-run the enemy forces," she began looking at the fifteen commanders of the brigade, "If they break and run...let them. We can not afford to waste time chasing down cowards. Our main objective is the capital city. Now go and prepare your troops...we are moving now!"

She watched as the brigade move with efficiency. She noted how her commanders took control of the situation, forming their respective ranks and how quickly they relaid her orders to them. She was proud of each and one of her commanders. But the true test was yet to come. The Dagobah Knights began to march at a quickened pace toward the city, careful not to leave gaps in their formations. The Sith juggernaut had passed judgement on the capital of Adumar, now the time for the executions would begin.

The shell fell to the ground as the Sith Lord charge forward. A swing from a fighter, a dodge from the man far more capable. A drive of the pistol grip to the stomach, the barrel to the face, a body hits the ground, and Gabriel transfers the gun from a two handed staff hold to a regular gun hold. Little slugs, squirming in their canvas carapace, crawled out to meet his fingers, as he swiftly fed them into their new home. Warm and inviting and metal, the ammunition fed into the chamber with a pump of the fore-end, temporary home shifted against his force and resolve. The alley way became his death roe walk, though these weren't his last steps, but merely the last moment for those who stood in his way. It felt right, to treat this place so callously, but he was merely one in the storm that hovered above the world.

He charged forward, his speed aided by the force, as he leaped forward and high kicked a passerby, descending to the ground with a thud. His left arm jumped forward, grabbing a neck and slamming a face into hard brick. The red stone crumbled beneath the force, as did the skull beneath the hand, and the Sith Lord crossed his left arm and fired a round into the last of the assailants, sending him skittering across pavement. Across the city, things were going well.

Forces of the One Sith entered the first of three generator facilities, ants conquering the hill of much weaker monsters, as they charged towards the control room. The other two continued to move forward, chasing the other two locations, as the One Sith forces rained down upon the Water Treatment Facility.

Objective: Capture The Capital
One block at a time the city began to fall to the Sith, who had once again executed their master plan of invasion to perfection. Through out the city the sounds of battle could be heard as more and more of the Sith military entered into the fray from numerous directions. Overhead, Sith fighters dominated the skies laying waste to the enemy's armoured divisions leaving wreckage of twisted metal in their wake. Without the threat of those divisions to hamper the advancing Sith war machine, the ground troops that bore the colour of Adumar's military were seriously crippled. Take the skies and the ground will crack beneath their feet.

The Sith Knight's brigade decimated the eastern front of the city's defenses, allowing for reinforcements to pour in without being molested by the enemy. She didn't need the Force to sense the fear in the enemy, a blind man could see the fight in them had fled. Most stood their ground for a few moments hoping the tide of battle would change, a lie only they believed in, until they realized throwing their lives away was pointless. From her vantage pointe she watched with a smile as the enemy broke cover, half of them being cut down in the process, and fled from the onslaught.

With so many of the enemy now routed and in full retreat, it was only a matter of time before the city was theirs. But despite the victory that was unfolding before her, she had yet to incorporate herself personally into the battle. Removing the dangling hilt from the right side of her utility belt, she was now ready to sate her appetite for destruction.

"Riley, report!" A few more planets crushed under the heel of the Sith, and she just might polish her commander voice to perfection. She was getting good at it — not biased at all, here — but it was hardly unexpected, considering all the worlds they'd wrecked in the past week. Where some would be broken under such weight, Vrag chose to learn from it instead. Despite being a cringe-worthy cliché, the saying 'What doesn't kill you makes you stronger' truly held some truth to it. She should probably preach it to the people of Adumar, considering the fight they were putting up.

"Ma'am, we've encountered resistance at the comm. tower," the voice on the other end was somewhat ragged, and she could hear the sound of blaster fire in the background. "We need reinforcements!"

Vrag gave a curt nod to the more handsome of the Durant twins and watched him leave with a complement of troops, his form soon disappearing behind the charred wall of a nearby building. "Sergeant Durant is on his way, keep pressing the attack," the Knight spoke into her mouthpiece as she moved forward with the rest of her force, flamethrower firm in hand. The crowd was thinning where they were going, since the bulk of the Sith had gotten bogged down in close-quarters fighting in the suburbs, and the firrerreo was almost giddy at the prospect of employing her little spitfire again.

"Keep your eyes peeled," she spoke quietly as they approached the government district of the city, but her care soon turned out to be unnecessary; the center was full of the rioting crowds, panic and fear hanging low in the air like a heavy perfume. Maybe the Sith should go and patent the fragrance at this point, for it was certainly a staple when they started courting a planet. The violent, aggressive sort of flirting, of course. They were the kind of bastards that didn't take 'no' for an answer and were far more likely to drug you and drag you away with a bag on your head.

"And they say romance is dead," the woman grinned behind her darkened visor as they skirted the edges of the center, looking for the best access point.

Objective: Capture Yedagon City

The battle pressed on, and apparently in the Sith's favor. Valtryx didn't want to waste any more time with a simple blockade, and so she doubled her efforts to be rid of it herself. With her spare hand outstretched, she began to one-by-one rip the weapon's out of the soldiers' hands with the force. Each one grunted in a vain attempt to reclaim their rifle as it flew out of their reach. Once they were all unarmed, the red-head merely smiled at them, tilting her head in a mocking way. "Watch out for the Zabrak." She told them, and already she could feel their fear intensify as they ran for their weapons.

With that, Valtryx ran in the opposite direction, heading closer and closer to the center of battle. It was only a few blocks away, that she knew for certain from the sounds of blaster fire and grenades. As the force aided her run, she reached the battle in no time. Before her eyes came the sight of true battle, hundreds of Sith soldiers exchanging fire with the decreasing number of Adumar's military. Wasting no time, Valtryx burst forward, leaping with all her power to the front of the fight. From their she began cleaving through the enemy soldiers who had little time to realize a Sith had joined the fray. They fell aside to her blade like a truck through a field of corn. Slowly the troops on her side began pushing behind her own assault, making progress with each step towards capturing the capital.

With each fallen enemy she began thinking.
Maybe I should get my own troops next time.

[member="Darth Ferus"]

The Primeval's army continued to march across the east and began to make their way towards the center. For The One Sith they would hear the inevitable sounds of screams silenced as the Gulandi continued to slaughter helpless denizens and feeble minutemen as the militia fell around them. If anything, the Host Lord could commend their valour; few still fight when the battle is already lost. Then again, who would succumb to their own demise rather than fight for the chance to live? Furthering her thoughts on them being... Animals.

The fighting continued, and rather than participate... She watched.

The Inu Clan was comprised of mainly heavy armed assault soldiers. Along with their Kiyohime-class Blaster Rifles, they carried the bulk of the Inari Shogunate's Kosenjobi-class Personal Projectile Launchers. Effective urban warfare soldiers, they quickly cleared the streets of any inhabitants and quickly pressed their troops forward.

Most of the city's defenses and armies were positioned to defend against the incoming Primeval and One Sith's armies, leaving the flanks of its armies relatively unguarded. Of course, no one would suspect a group who would aim to capture non-military objectives, such as the city's treasury, and furthermore, no one would suspect that conquest of the city was not their first goal.

Ransacking was.

And ransacking and looting is what they would do.

Objective: Keep up

The Zabrak had his own issues as soon as she decided to burst ahead. Already more troops were beginning to pile in behind her, ready to take the shot. Naturally though, he could let this happen. The five troops, focused on [member="Darth Valtryx"] didn't see or even hear the Zabrak come up behind them. Without any weapon, the man began his own assault, starting on the farthest to the left. A single hand, his right, came out to grasp the back of the mans coat, dragging him back and down enough for his left metal to slam into his nose. Between cybernetic strength and force enhancement, his nose was driven into his skull.

The rest were easier. Taking up the now slain mans gun, he filled the other four up with laser, leaving them for dead in an instant. He had to catch up to his beloved after all. And when he got there, he saw her once more taking off, and a small group of unarmed soldiers. With a small shake of his head, he would grin and leap in, his saber springing to life as he cut them down with ease.

She really did love giving him gifts.

From the looks of things, the Sith could pretty much retire to that coffee shop she'd spied in the suburbs back when they'd first entered the city and simply watch the city wreck itself while they sipped warm stimcaf. What, you think that conquering worlds isn't a tiring business? The hordes of troops beg to differ — probably with a barrel to your head, too — so you'd do well to show them some respect. Razing whole buildings and committing genocide are no easy tasks, and they certainly drain whomever dares take it upon themselves to complete them. It is no coincidence that the Sith are known for their fearsome discipline and training; the hotter the fire, the better the steel.

"Ma'am, the tower is ours," Riley's voice of said into her comlink, and the news brought a small smile on her face.

"Excellent work, Sergeant," the Knight commended with a smile as she watched her forces form a circle around the main square while the rioters were busy trying to undermine their own efforts. "Patch me through to the government building, would you?" It took a few minutes of colorful expletives and some good old smashing, but in the end, the two commanders on the other end managed to get the line up.

"Good day, Yedagon," the firrerreo greeted the government, her tone cold and unfeeling. "This is the One Sith. Tell your people to lay down their weapons, and no further harm will befall them. Failing that..." she made a small pause, enough to hear their trembling breaths through the connection, "you'd better start digging mass graves, gentlemen."

Wasting no time to make her presence felt in the battle, the Dagobah Sith quickly engaged the first enemy in her line of sight just as he was rising from his cover behind a turned over aircab. With one quick slash of her blade she managed to sever the soldier in two, leaving quickly to hunt down another enemy before the two halves hit the concrete surface with a wet splat. Unfortunately for her, the soldiers began to scamper away from the fighting leaving her with few options to fight. She was not a warrior by choice but confrontation was in her blood. And right now it seemed nobody wanted to confront her on the battlefield.

Then to her surprise, the enemy began to throw their weapons down following by placing their hands atop their heads. "Hold your fire," she yelled as loud as she could, "Do not kill them! They have surrendered and will now be treated as prisoners of war." Pressing the small button on her wrist comlink, she opened a channel to all the commanders, both company and battalion, under her direct command. "Order your troops to stand down. They are not to fire unless fired on....the enemy has surrendered. Our next priority is to round up the enemy...search them...cuff them and transport them back to HQ."

Was the invasion over? In the distance she could hear small pockets of fighting but for the most part, it seemed to be dying down.

Once Cryax had found a backdoor into Yedagon City's defense networks, the rest was easy. The next step to gaining control of Yedagon City's was installing Blue Phoenix. Cryax loved this part, watching the flood of numbers and lines whiz across the screen of his Datapad as Blue Phoenix infected their system. The beauty of Blue Phoenix was its ability to allow its user to establish a reverse connection to its victim. Once established it gave the attacker complete control over the infected computer or network until it was cleansed of the infection. Unless city officials expected a cyber attack, it was highly unlikely that they'd be able to fight it off.

Bane grinned widely as he seized control of the network. He opened his mouth to say something to his bored-looking executive assistant, but stopped. Anytime Cryax tried to engage her in conversation topics that involved slicing and computers, she got a glazed look on her face that said, "shut up nerd." His genius would have to remain woefully under appreciated as usual.

He proceeded to kark with the Yedagon City's defense networks. In a few moments, city officials would find turrets misfiring, comm channels down, and energy shields deactivated.

His team of slicers were all but twiddling their thumbs at this point and a bit worried that Blue Phoenix might make their jobs redundant. However, if there were experienced slicers in the capital, Cryax would definitely need his team to jump into the action. Some things needed a more personal touch.

::Gimme an update...:: He leaned against a brick wall, the streets painted in blood and sending streams down through the drainage system. There was an audible pause as the sound clicked on within his mic, a black cord running from his ear down his chest. Cracking his neck, he waited patiently. Despite what most would likely suspect, he was an extremely patient individual when the time called for it.

::M'lord...we have fully acquired power facilities for the residential section of the city. We have began partitioning energy, allowing enough for hospital use and that's it.::
::Why?::
::Why what, m'lord?::
::Why are you partitioning energy instead of shutting the whole system down?::
::We thought it was in the best interest for the public image of the One Sith if we didn't kill off innocent individuals within the hospital infrastructure::

That sounded dangerously close to thinking and now that Gabriel had the chance to ponder such things, he didn't recall such orders for 'thinking' to be on the addendum. Mentally shrugging, he appreciated the effort being put in and the strategy that the commander was going through. It was true, the One Sith had a bleeding and hemoraging image and this sort of thing helped. ::What about the other commanders?::

::Last we heard, they had infiltrated the waste water treatment facility and one additional power grid facility. They'll be taking private systems down at any time.::
::Tell them to hold off on that, partition energy to substantially reduce production but don't take the whole grid down. Lets not step on too many toes just yet.::
::Yes, m'lord::

Gabriel clicked off the interface and checked the shotgun rounds before proceeding down the next thoroughfare, his troops on his heels and eerily quiet. Kind of like he was all alone in this strange city.
