Well, we're technically beast charmers. It's actually affected my use of the ability. Most jedi and sith conquer the mind of an animal, I bond with it and it's more of a partnership than enslavement. I actually feel pain if the animal gets killed. Amaran's love animals so much that the punishment for poaching is actually quite harsh. It's seen as a major offense.
(The location of Amar was found though A LOT of studying on my part. It is absolutely on no star wars galaxy maps cannon or fanfic, though the world itself is cannon. It is a difficult world to informatively hail from to say the least.)
