Kay just held her and stroked her hair. "I get nightmares too. But it won't last forever. With each passing day, the pain goes away little by little. It's never fully gone, but it doesn't hurt as much."
""What can you tell me about her? What was her name? What were your favourite things to do together? Did she ever have goofy moments?" Talking about the good things usually helped.
"Her name was Elizabeth, some of the things we did together was paint nails and pod race. And she is... was a goofball." Brook says trying to stop crying
Kay rubbed [member="Brooklyn Justice"] 's back as she spoke. "That's a beautiful name. She was a goofball, was she? What kinds of things did she do?" She needed to get the girl to laugh. Laughter was always the best medicine.
Kay smiled. "Some jokes? Really? Your father tries to be funny, but it doesn't always work. What are some of the good jokes that she tells? I'd love to hear them."
"Umm. Well to give context for one she told me a story of how a man was put inside a tauntaun to keep him warm and this mans name was luke so she would say whats the internal temperature of a tauntaun... Luke warm."
"Do you have another one that you can tell me? Or not right now?" At least [member="Brooklyn Justice"] seemed to have stopped crying for the moment. Kay still held her though.
Kay nodded and held her still, although she glanced at her tea. It was getting cold. Hot or cold, her tea was always good. "Okay. So what do you think of your father? He's a little goofy at times too, isn't he?"
"Yes, that's very true. But I think that he does it to bury things inside." Kay also didn't care for his womanising, but he wasn't the first that she had come across recently that was that way.
Kay let her go and then resumed her seat, inviting [member="Brooklyn Justice"] to join her. "I guess that you could say that tea is my vice. It soothes me and warms me up. Plus it's really easy to make."
Kay smiled and gave her a playful nudge. "Well you aren't old enough yet, silly. I didn't get my addiction to tea until I was almost twenty standard years."
