FESTIVAL OF STARS
A Life Day Celebration

Once a year, on every Life Day, the planet of Naboo passes through the Solari Belt, an expanse of crystalline debris left behind by a shattered comet that's existed since the beginning of galactic memory. As the planet moves through this belt, the tiny crystals left behind from the comet ignite as they come into contact with the atmosphere, creating a dazzling display of shimmering, multicolored streaks of light shooting across the sky.

While the entire planet celebrates this awe-inspiring celestial event, many off-world visitors and residents make their way to the mountain village of Dee'ja Peak to witness the event from up close. In preparation of this, this quaint village spends weeks in advance transforming itself into a winter wonderland, inviting all who come to experience the stunning phenomena while enjoying the rich, cultural traditions of this joyous festivity beneath a radiant, star-filled sky.

Oh, What Fun
The Kaadu Sleigh Ride is a treasured festival tradition, inviting participants to experience the serene beauty of Dee'ja Peak in all its snowy splendor. Sleighs, drawn by graceful Kaadu, follow winding trails adorned with light-wrapped trees and glide across frozen streams. The ride culminates at the summit of Varyyne, a stunning vantage point where the falling stars can be best seen cascading across the sky. Many couples, old and new, cherish this experience and often exchange tokens of affection and heartfelt promises once they reach the summit.

A Sentimental Feeling
Dee'ja Peak has been transformed into a lively hub of activity for the Festival of Stars, with lantern-lit streets filled with music, laughter, and the mouthwatering scents of Naboo delicacies. Visitors and locals are invited to wander through the bustling Marketplace, showcasing unique treasures such as handcrafted ornaments, glowing crystal pendants, and even "authentic" celestial crystals claimed to have been harvested from the Solari Belt—though sharp-eyed shoppers might spot a few clever imitations. Food stalls line the streets, offering mouthwatering treats like spiced nerf wraps, roasted lakeberries, and warm mulled cider, creating a festive atmosphere perfect for exploration and celebration.

Her Blessings Flow
In celebration of the Festival of Stars and Life Day, the Queen of Naboo has graciously invited the public to the opened doors of her exclusive mountain retreat, a breathtaking estate nestled just beyond Dee'ja Peak. Guests are invited to feast in the opulent Grand Hall, adorned with glimmering crystal chandeliers and floral arrangements, where a decadent five-course meal featuring traditional delicacies like spiced traladon, lakeberry tarts, and aged nerf cheese awaits. Those seeking merriment can dance the night away in the elegant ballroom, featuring a live string quartet to twirl your heart out to beneath a domed ceiling that's been outfitted with shimmering, star-like projections.

BYOO
Don't see something you like? Naboo is a big place, explore!

Lysander couldn’t help but be awed by the radiant glow of Dee’ja Peak. An infectious energy seemed to fill the air here. Just when he thought Naboo couldn’t be any more beautiful, he was proven wrong time and again; it was as though he were given constant reaffirmations for his decision to relocate. As they made their way towards the marketplace; his gaze flickered from one building to the next, taking in all the displays.

The teen felt grateful to be able to share this experience with Persephone; they even managed to coordinate their outfits, which made them stand out, occasionally drawing glances from the other visitors. A burgundy tunic made of wool hugged his upper torso with just a hint of elegance. Dark brown pants were complemented by beige boots that came up to his knees; he chose faux fur over real fur, ensuring no living beings were harmed, in an attempt to stay true to the Code he now lived by. A cream scarf was wrapped around his neck, and blonde hair poked out from under a beanie.

Soon he glanced at Persephone. "I almost forgot.. I need to contact my master about something," he said calmly. It was a partial truth, but mainly just an excuse. He knew this would give him just enough time to get in line at the cider stall. While waiting, he pulled out his small datapad and searched for Brandyn Sal-Soren Brandyn Sal-Soren 's info. His fingers then began dancing across the screen.

[[ Hello Master, I hope this season finds you well. I tried making you a pie for Life Day, but it looks like it got hit by a thermal detonator! ]]

The line moved quickly, and soon enough, he had two warm cups in hand. At least now he wouldn't have to partake in their usual game of who pays the bill.

Then came the cool part. Scanning the crowd, it didn’t take long for him to catch sight of the girl. Using the stealth he had honed through recent training, the Padawan navigated swiftly and magically appeared by Persie’s side. Lysander also wore a warm smile now. He held out one of the cups of mulled cider to her. "Look what I found."

A SENTIMENTAL FEELING
Wandering Dee'ja Peak's Marketplace

Dee'ja Peak shimmered like a dream beneath the lantern lit skies, the stars above mirrored in the glow of lights strung between the market stalls. Zaiya's skin was a living canvas, shifting with her wonder, soft hues of gold and pale rose rippling over her as she wove through the crowd. She wore a pretty silver embroidered robe with a comfy, thick wrap that hung about her shoulders. The air was rich with the mingling scents of spiced nerf wraps, roasted lakeberries, and the tantalizing tang of mulled cider.

A street performer caught her eye, juggling glowing orbs that danced like miniature stars in the air. Zaiya stopped in her tracks, mesmerized, her bioluminescent threads flickering with golden light. She let out a delighted laugh as the performer added a dramatic flourish, tossing the orbs high before catching them one by one. Tossing a few credits into the bowl at his feet, she offered a cheerful nod of appreciation before continuing on her way.

Her attention snagged on a stall boasting 'authentic celestial crystals from the Solari Belt.' The crystals sparkled invitingly, their colors shifting in the light, but Zaiya squinted at them, her iridescent patterns deepening to a thoughtful burnished amber. She tilted her head, inspecting the craftsmanship. Beautiful, yes, but authentic? Probably not.

"Nice try," she muttered under her breath, her lips twitching into a grin as she moved along.

At the next stall, she found herself drawn to a collection of glowing pendants, each one unique and vibrant. Zaiya ran her fingers over a teal crystal shaped like a droplet, its light pulsing softly as if it had a heartbeat of its own.

"You've got a good eye," the vendor said with a wink. "That one's special; it's said to bring clarity to the toughest of decisions."

Zaiya arched an eyebrow, her skin flashing a brief streak of playful teal.

"Convenient pitch for a festival, huh?" she quipped, though she couldn't deny the pull she felt toward the pendant. After a moment's hesitation, she handed over the credits.

With the pendant now hanging from her neck, she joyfully almost skipped into a food stall, lured by the scent of freshly roasted lakeberries. Buying a bag of them, the Lovalla gave a giddy bounce.

Oh these smelled lovely!

She took a bite, her patterns rippling in warm blues and gold as the sweet and tangy flavors burst across her tongue. She couldn't help but hum in satisfaction, already eyeing the mulled cider stand across the way.

The marketplace buzzed with life, and Zaiya soaked in every moment -- the warmth of the crowd, the music that seemed to thread through the air like magic, the way the lanterns painted the cobblestone streets in hues of gold and amber.

These were the last few days she would stay on Naboo before returning with her Master to follow up on other training. Learning of this marketplace was totally making up for the fiasco from earlier. Maybe she could even find some gifts for Aris Noble Aris Noble , Mahsa Mahsa , and Ayhan Ayhan ?

With a delighted hum and after taking a bite of another handful of the roasted Lakeberries, the Lovalla continued her slow, delighted, cheerful amble.

It was going to be an excellent evening! She could feel it!

SENTIMENTAL FEELING

She had made a bad impression. She had also been chastised thoroughly for said impression. This was not unexpected, nor was it unwarranted. Part of her had welcomed it. It was the part of her that had grown as cold as the streets of this market.

Since the day of her Master's death on Coruscant, she had wandered many a market on many a world. Despite her unwelcome grief, she had found those days liberating. She had been free to follow the Force and do the good she felt needed to be done. There was so much hurt and suffering in the galaxy. Cerys had been able to alleviate a little of it. The one thing she had not been able to do was advance as a Jedi.

Like it or not, she had needed a master and an order of some description to validate her skill set, and approve her as a Jedi Knight. With the title she would be able to hold so much more sway and impact so many lives for good. She did not want for her master's legacy to stop with her, a forever Padawan. So, she put up with Brandyn 'go to the market and enjoy yourself' Sal-Soren.

"I will admit though. This is probably the prettiest market I have been too...Naboo certainly understands aesthetics," she said, out loud but accidentally so.

"Would the young lady like to try some of our famous five-blossom bread? Its aesthetics are to die for..."

Cerys jumped slightly, hand instinctively going to where he saber hilt would be. That was another remnant of her time wandering, the jitteriness. She quickly calmed her racing heart as she looked to see who was offering the food. The middle-aged woman was typically of a perfect complexion and dark hair colour. So very Naboo. Cerys meet her smile.

"It looks fantastic," she said, already imaging the taste of the fresh bread. The aroma was so very inviting.

"And tastes even better. Just two credits for a scroll...your choice of sauces...mustard cream...lakeberry jam...Shaak sausage white sauce...or..."

"Is that spiced Avarian cheese sauce?" Cerys said. The interruption was welcomed with a cheerful acknowledgment from the vendor and within a few seconds, the exchange of credits and food had been made.

With the appropriate thanks given, Cerys turned to look over her prize. The small cardboard bowl held the single torn-off scroll of five-blossom bread all covered in a cheese sauce that she would spend the next day working off. But for now. She just breathed it in.

"Oh....that is the most heavenly thing I have smelt since..."

Master El-vana's vegetable stew.

Cerys lifted the bread and sauce combo to her mouth, an attempt to drown her flair up of grief. The swiftness of her bite left her face in some what of a mess, cheese sauce not exactly going where it was supposed to. And they weren't lying about it being spicy.

"Argh. Hot. Hot. Hot," she panted, mouth and chin coated in the steaming sauce.
New-Project.png

She turned back to the vendor who was grinning and holding out a napkin. Cerys swiped it and wiped her face of quickly while breathing in the cool air to bring the temperature of the food down. The woman at the stall just laughed, mostly with her deeply brown eyes. "You should let it cool down a little first," she said. Cerys met the comment with an expression that read, "Ya think?"

Despite what was surely to be a burnt tongue, Cerys could only lean into the silliness of the moment. Perhaps Brandyn had been right. Maybe this was exactly what she needed. She needed to loosen up a bit. Spend time with real people. Spend time with people that did not look at her like the Jedi at the temple now did, with that judgmental side-eyed glance. Sure, she deserved it. But that didn't mean she enjoyed it.

No. This was perfect. No one she knew. No one that knew her. No connection to the embarrassment she had purposely brought upon herself. Here. Yes, here Cerys could relax and just be herself.

She was testing out the temperature of her food when she caught a glimpse of a sight that was not unfamiliar. With this sight disappeared all hopes of a night free of her self-enforced grouch persona. It was a shimmering, colour shifting beacon of doom.

"Nope. Nope. Nope," Cerys muttered as she purposely avoided eye contact with Zaiya and shuffled over to the nearest stall.

She stood there for a time, trying to to look in Zaiya's direction. Instead, she looked over the wares on the table without really taking in their contact.

"Boyfriend having some issues, aye? Or is it your husband?" Said a gravely, but delightfully jovial sounding man.

Cerys looked up through the gently blowing bristles of her fake-fur lined hood. Her expression did not register his words for a moment. Then she just looked confused. "What...I don't have a..."

"It's OK dear...happens to a lot of men...but we have remedies for that and all other sorts of men's health needs...all natural..."

It was only then that her eyes focused in on the homemade labels to which she had been staring at. Her face turned a deeper shade of orange. "Sorry...I ah...thought it said something else..."

SENTIMENTAL FEELING

In true fashion, when two people who appreciated a good garment got together, they did their best to coordinate and show off. A cream and red sweater, dark jeans, and beige colored boots all pulled together for an effortless casual yet cool look. A cream colored beanie sat firmly pulled over her head, brown hair spilling out. So far, not knowing much about the Life Day season, she could certainly say the fashion was the best part. The food was a close second.

"Okay."

Persephone didn't know why they couldn't walk and Lysander von Ascania Lysander von Ascania type at the same time, but he was odd at times. Maybe his Master was yelling at him. Maybe he had to check in every so often and he found it embarrassing. If his Master was smart, he would just coordinate with her parents to get the reports her pink security droid sent to them several times a day.

Not paying attention of where Lysander actually went to, Persephone focused on the sights. The market would give her the opportunity to get gifts for Myra and Makai, as well as her unborn sister. She really should get something for Lysander, but it would be hard to shake the teenager. Drifting towards a line of stalls, the blonde suddenly appeared next to her with a warm liquid.

"Thank you." Hand took one of the cups, taking a sip. She thought it was caf but it turned out to be some type of hot cider. It wasn't bad, better than she first expected. "What would you like to do first?"

Zaiya's skin shimmered with soft citrine and burnished amber as she hovered over the vendor's stall, wide eyed with intrigue. The display of crystals and polished stones practically sparkled under the lantern light, their glow a siren's call to her Lovalla instincts. Anything shiny caught her attention, but these? These she recognized. Some were familiar from her research into minerals and their properties. Zaiya leaned closer, her curiosity pulling her deeper into the glittering array.

Her lips formed a quiet "Ooo," the sound barely escaping as her fascination consumed her. She was reaching toward a glowing shard of teal crystal when a gravelly voice from a nearby stall broke her concentration.

"-- we have remedies for that and all other sorts of men's health needs...all natural..." the vendor cheerfully boomed. Zaiya froze midreach, her head tilting toward the sound. Her bioluminescent threads flickered with streaks of curious citrine, and her healer's mind immediately perked with questions. Remedies for boyfriends and husbands? What kind of ailments could those involve? Was there a difference between remedies for one and the other?

Unable to help herself, Zaiya wandered closer and spotted a cloaked figure standing awkwardly before the vendor. The customer shifted uncomfortably as the vendor gestured to a collection of vials, his sales pitch continuing unabated. Zaiya hummed softly, her desire to be helpful blooming in her chest. Master Iris had begun to teach her all sorts of various remedies, so maybe the Lovalla could help.

Sliding in beside her fellow shopper, Zaiya offered in a friendly tone, "I know a bit about herbal remedies if you need help!" she offered brightly, her voice warm and bright, a stark contrast to how she had spoken to Lysander the time before. Her skin rippled with helpful hues of sky blue and pearly whites in thoughtful eagerness.

The vendor paused midpitch, his furred hood tilting toward her, but Zaiya's expression remained open and genuine, though her curiosity flickered again.

"Which one were you looking for?" she asked, leaning in to peek at the selection of vials. Unbeknownst to her, these were not the herbal remedies her Master, Iris Arani Iris Arani , had taught her recently. These were... well, not for ailments Zaiya would immediately recognize. The innocent Padawan remained oblivious to the shift in the atmosphere, her focus entirely on being helpful to someone in need.

Briana adjusted the blue crystal pins holding her thick dark-brown hair back, catching her reflection in the frosted window of the ballroom. Her hair was styled in curling waves that were left to tumble down her slender waist, pulled only half-way back with a few loose strands left out to frame her face. Most days, she preferred to weave and twist it into intricate updos—partly out of practicality, given its length. Wearing it down was usually a rare indulgence, reserved for private moments, when Aiden was home on leave. He had always loved it that way.

Her fingers brushed absently through the silky strands, a wistful smile tugging at her lips as memories surfaced. She could almost feel the gentle weight of his hand running through her hair, hear his voice—low and teasing—remarking on how the sunlight made it gleam like polished ebonwood, a soldier's endearing attempt at poetry. "You should wear it down more often," he'd say. But it wasn't the words that made her heart flutter or convinced her to do so, it was the warmth in his emerald eyes as he spoke, the way his lopsided grin softened his otherwise hardened features. Those moments, filled with his quiet adoration, lingered like a gentle, bittersweet ache.

Celebrating Lifeday without the person she'd loved most, felt much like stepping into an unfamiliar world, and Briana was unsure if it was worse that she was spending the day without him, or to know that somewhere, Aiden might be celebrating the day with someone else, someone new, as if their life together never existed. And to him, she supposed it hadn't.

Briana breathed out a heavy sigh and reached for two glasses of champagne from a passing waiter's tray, knocking one full glass back.

Perhaps it wasn't the best idea for the leader of the Shirayan Order to be seen downing champagne like it was water, but after the month she'd had, losing Aiden, the chaos from the Netherworld, and the debacle with the Padawans earlier this week, she figured she deserved a moment of indulgence.

Besides, Life Day was about celebration, wasn't it? A time to honor the people they had loved, the memories they had made, and the lives still worth living. Briana glanced down at the other flute in her hand and without a moments hesitation, chucked it back as well, before her brother came back from wherever it was he'd popped off to.

"Dad, is this really necessary." Aiden asked with a half smile, of all the things he would ask his son to do. Aiden shook his head a bit and even a small nervous laugh escaped him.

"Son, what could be more necessary? It's for life day, and stop thinking about yourself." The Jedi Master said with a amused look in his faced, walking beside Aiden with his hands behind his back.

"I mean I'm not, well maybe kinda. Do I really have to do it?"

What a more festive occasion this wall, the invitations were out and about, Life day was probably the Jedi Master's favorite day. Everything about it was just amazing and joyous.

"Are you still living at home?" The Jedi Master inquired looking over to Aiden as they reached their destination.

"Well, yes of course."

"Then yes, you have to do it. Break a leg son...." The Jedi Master laughed patting his son on the shoulder as he entered open room and leaned back against the wall.

What a jerk...... Aiden thought with a slightly scrounged up face for a few brief seconds. Aiden somehow got roped into singing a song or two for the younglings and whomever else came to see. He hoped it wasn't a big crowd.

Unfortunately for Aiden, nothing ever went his way. He thought of Esme, look how that turned out. Tatooine, another chaotic venture. Tython was no better. And here we are now, the fact that he was still living was a mystery to him.

Aiden went up to the makeshift stage, he cleared his throat and spoke into the microphone. "Hello, and uh.....welcome." Aiden fidgeted as he fixed his tie and then spoke again. "Happy life day.....celebrations....today." Aiden took a deep breath as he reached to his left picking up the datapad that had the lyrics to the song he was singing. He had heard it before, and it was indeed a good tune. He wasn't sure if it was exactly suited for life day. But the context was all the same he supposed.

The Padawan adjusted his feet a little bit as he neared the microphone once again. The sight of the younglings smiling and happy did much to ease his worries, still......

What a jerk.....

"When you wish upon a star, makes no difference who you are."
The Jedi Padawan started off very rocky, slightly trembling in his voice but then soon ease up. The good thing was, he wasn't sure how bad he was sounding. "Anything your heart desires, will come to you....."

"If your heart is in your dream, no request is too extreme. When you wish upon a star, as dreamers do"

Lysander savored the warmth of the cider cupped in his hands. And with each sip, he enjoyed the dance of flavors on his tongue; for him, it was the perfect mix of sweetness and spice. As his gaze drifted to Persie, he couldn't help but smile; the Padawan was enjoying the simplicity of the moment.

He imagined it would be easy to get lost in everything taking place here. “Would you like to do any shopping? Or we could just look around." He gestured toward the marketplace, then scanned over the crowds.

Taking another sip, he continued. "I haven’t really done much shopping this year," he admitted. "I guess there hasn't been the same spark in picking out gifts for others. It almost feels like I’ve drifted away from a lot of people I used to know before coming to Naboo.”

Even from afar his sharp eyes caught glimpses of familiar faces, stirring a sense of familiarity; however, it didn't stir any excitement. There were a few from Shiraya's Sanctuary present. His focus shifted, and all distractions disappeared– he was here for one person only.

“You know, there’s a sleigh ride I think we would both enjoy later,” he said. Then, there was a playful glint in his eye. “But could we perhaps leave the droid behind for a while if we decide to go?”

Even after the chaos that occurred during her last visit to Naboo, Katherine found herself returning to the planet to celebrate Life Day. Since that time the Padawan had been successful in finding a potential solution to the damage that had been done to her body.

She had travelled to the Noble’s home on Niv Hani, to focus her time on research while surrounded by serene nature. It was there, during a conversation with her Master, where Kahlil brought up the topic of the Aing-Tii. A group of which were living in seclusion elsewhere on the planet.

It hadn’t exactly been the easiest conversation Katherine had, but eventually they had jointly managed to convince them to help her. Now it was a matter of waiting, to give them the time to prepare everything for the ritual. Something that could either heal her completely, nerve damage ‘n’ all, or…end things.

The implications had been weighing on Katherine’s mind since, keeping her from any particularly restful sleep. It played a part in pushing her to visit Naboo for the winter season. She wanted to enjoy the festivities, to hopefully come across familiar faces like Lorn Reingard Lorn Reingard or Aiden Porte Aiden Porte .

Katherine was adamant about enjoying every part of it, after all this could very well be her last chance to.

What do you mean I can’t take part?” She inquired, staring up at the man who was in charge of the Kaadu Sleigh Ride.

Y-you just can’t! It just wouldn’t be safe.

Why not? What possible risk could there be? It’s not like I’m going to be sliding down a steep hill or anything.

The man gestured with his eyes, looking down at her as if Katherine was completely oblivious to the fact she was in a hoverchair.

If you’re worried about me getting into one of the sleighs, don’t be! I can still move myself enough to-

That’s not the point, we can’t risk the liability of something happening.

The days were getting quite short and the weather on Naboo had a pleasant chill to the air, most found it cold but to Lily, it was more akin to summer time on Eshan. Pleasant and she was thankful that it was not at all the climate of Jakku which was a world just too hot for words. The colder weather had led into a festival. A celebration that was under way and Lily was eager to check out what was going on and what the stalls would have on offer. Perhaps even locate a gift for Life Day she could give Briana.

She noted that there were a few familiar faces around the stalls and several she had heard about from the rumours of a near fight that had started up in the new temple on Naboo. Lily was curious to see why such a thing had occurred because it did not sound like it was fight between two people who wished to learn more about one another.

Approaching the stall where she spotted Cerys Dyn Cerys Dyn and Zaiya Ceti Zaiya Ceti Lily noted the herbal remedies that they were looking at and she chuckled softly behind her hand.

"Ladies, these are the remedies that either of you will want to take, and I doubt any men in your life would appreciate you buying it for them either." Lily chuckled deeply, unable to help think of the chaos that would ensue if either of them attempted to present such a treatment to men they care about. "I think you have another forty to sixty years before that is a likely issue."

Arriving at the beautifully decorated palace, Dreidi knew that she was heavily underdressed but the clothing she had were the only items that were suitable for her growing size. Anything else was too tight or looked ridiculous on the very visibly pregnant witch. She was only a few months into her pregnancy but it was definitely on show more now than it had been at the Jedi ball. It was the one of many curses that having a child seemed to have, clothing was swiftly becoming an impossibility.

She walked into the ball room, seeing the beautifully decorated trees and ornaments that were placed around. Dreidi could feel her overactive hormones cause her to tear up at how beautiful everything was looking. It was only when she breathed in deeply that she decided to calm her emotions and attempt to keep a level head about the how thing.

Looking around, she spotted Briana would was drinking her champagne as if it was water, a feat that now she had been deprived from for several months, struck envy into the witch's heart. She chuckled and walked over to Briana, "hey, you look amazing! Everything okay? Just you are drinking awfully quickly, pretty champagne is one of those drinks you are meant to sip and enjoy the bouquet or something." Dreidi shrugged her shoulders and chuckled softly to herself.

"I'm here to cheer on Aiden, heard he was going to sing and figured I needed to check that out." Dreidi smiled warmly.

She was a little nervous meeting Aiden since she had yet to update him on her pregnancy and wasn't sure how this would change this between them since when they last met, she had hoped to see him again and tell him how she felt for a long time about him. However, it seemed life was chaotic and decided to chuck this curveball at her in that regard.

Joro was in and out of the little shops that lined the place. Each one of them had something interesting, but none of them really had what he wanted and he was getting a little bit frustrated. Not with them, but with himself and being so picky. Sure, several of them had nice, delicious pastries, of which he obtained a few, and some of them even had some exotic meats on sticks, which, honestly were very delicious. It really was a nice market and if he wasn't after something in particular he'd really be enjoying it.

See the problem was, he wanted to do something different from the norm, something that probably wasn't going to go over well, but something he felt inclined towards. He was intent on finding something to give to Lossa Aureus Lossa Aureus from within the market. Maybe several somethings as a means of being a sort of secret admirer/gifter sort of thing. But, he didn't know what to get because, well, he'd never done such a thing before.

Granted he'd never been attracted to someone before.

Regardless, he was starting to have his doubts as he walked the crowded pathways with a skewer full of meat in each hand. Lost in his own thoughts he was a bit oblivious to where he was going, just thinking away, until he bumped, literally, into Zaiya from behind.

"Oh, sorry," he said snapping out of his revelry and realizing who it was. "Oh you two. Perhaps you could help me? I have this little thing I'd like to do and..." and his eyes noticed what tent they were at and he blinked. "Wait. What are you two doing outside of THIS tent?"

By Ashla, it was extravagant. The Grand Hall shimmered. Crystal chandeliers, the size of small starships, dripped light onto impossibly lush floral arrangements that smelled sweeter than anything Lorn had ever encountered. He'd only made quick trips down to Dee'ja Peak before, and this…this was a whole other world. He'd managed to scrounge together something presentable, something that hopefully wouldn't scream "outsider" too loudly amidst the shimmering silks and Naboo finery.

The warm air hit him as he pushed open the grand doors, a welcome contrast to the crisp mountain air outside. The first server he spotted offered a glass of champagne, and Lorn gratefully accepted it. The bubbly liquid helped ease the knot of anxiety tightening in his chest. He was new to the Order of Shiraya, didn't know a soul here, and the whole lavish affair felt… overwhelming. He felt a bit like a nerf herder at a royal gala.

He wandered, the champagne warming him from the inside out. The scene sparked memories of past Life Day celebrations with his family. Nothing this grand, of course, but the underlying warmth, the sense of shared joy and survival…that was the same. Another year survived. He wished his old comrades and master were here to share it with him. He really did.

His gaze drifted to the stage. A familiar face. Could that be…the guy handing out cookies during the great Padawan debacle? The one who seemed surprisingly pleasant amidst the chaos? Why was he up there? The mystery tugged at Lorn's curiosity.

Finishing his champagne, Lorn found a spot at the bar. He flagged down the bartender and ordered something a little more to his liking: Chandrilan whiskey, neat. The sharp, clean taste was a welcome change. He swirled it in the glass, letting the amber liquid catch the light. His eyes scanned the bar, the other patrons. A familiar unease settled in. He couldn't help but wonder if this night would erupt into something as chaotic as the last get-together. He hoped not. Tonight was supposed to be about celebration. About life.

to keep the oaths of old
No. No. No. NO.

This was not happening. First, Zaiya. Then, Lily. Now, Joro. What part of not seeing anyone she knew did the Force not understand? She wanted to be alone. Like it was before she came to Naboo. She wanted to be free. Not so...known.

They wouldn't like me if they knew me.

With being offered help from the overly jovial Zaiya, Cerys just grimaced even harder. She thought it easily maximum grimace territory. But oh no. It got so much worse. Lily was there making wise about the men in their life.

Men in my life? Like my MASTER? I am not going anywhere near giving my master anything like this.

And then Joro. Dear. Annoying. Obstinate Joro. As usual he called a spade a spade and just questioned the reason for them being there at all.

"I was just hiding from people I knew," Cerys snapped at Joro, feeling the rising heat of frustration and utter self-contempt.

"You all just had to go making this awkward..." It was only then that she turned to see what Lily was wearing. The Togrutan's eyes widened as she looked her up and down.

"Lily! What are you wearing!?" She said, startled by the woman's revealing attire on what was a chilly evening.

Cerys glanced at Zaiya. "You do not want to stay here at this booth," she said bluntly, "people might think you and your boyfriend are having issues. What was his name? Lysander?"

A SENTIMENTAL FEELING
Wandering Dee'ja Peak's Marketplace

Interacting with: Cerys Dyn Cerys Dyn Lily Decoria Lily Decoria Joro Kal'nath Joro Kal'nath

"Ladies, these are the remedies that either of you will want to take, and I doubt any men in your life would appreciate you buying it for them either...I think you have another forty to sixty years before that is a likely issue."

Zaiya had been eagerly awaiting to see if she could help the customer when another voice joined in, drawing the Lovalla's attention. Her friendly expression turned into one of pleasant surprise, recognizing Lily Decoria Lily Decoria from the trip they took together for the exchange program with the Order of Sasha.

"Oh! Hello, Lily," Zaiya chirped out with a friendly smile. A lovely shimmer of happy teal ombres etched with gold along their edges illuminated her mottled spots. Well, at least until the Lovalla registered what the Echani said.

"Huh? Forty to sixty years? Why?" Confusion dampened the luster of her artful patterns over her rosy golden skin into a dusky grey, curiosity quickly replacing it with citrine hues.

"Oh, is it like a longevity elixir then -- oomph!" All of a sudden, Zaiya went stumbling forward a bit, arms waving a bit comically as she did her best to regain her balance. Normally, she'd have felt the sudden entrance of another Force user, but since she'd been using her mental blocks and focusing on Cerys, it had been a little too late. No intent to harm meant that it simply went the way of the Force, showing its sense of humor.

Considering Zaiya had been the one to bump into others before, the Lovalla immediately raised her hands to gesture it was okay. This caused a spark of alarm and an attempt to assure the other it was fine, which made her babble, "OH! No, it's okay! I'm fine, really—oh."

The Lovalla paused, her head canting to the right in vague recollection. Wait, he was familiar. Took a couple of seconds before it registered. It was the Padawan who had given everyone a sound chiding in the wake of the chaos back at the Sanctuary days earlier. Mortification bloomed over Zaiya's face, heat flooding and darkening her mottled spots and stripes with an iridescent coral tone.

"Oh, umm... Hello. Yeah, I'm happy to help out." Zaiya stammered out, only to, again, be confused about why there was such emphasis on the tent they were in. Not that Zaiya had much time to dwell on it, as Cerys finally made herself known: flustered, blunt, and, well, more than a little hot in her response. Even Zaiya's eyes went a little wide, but she was unable to help herself as her attention panned over to Lily based on how much emphasis Cerys had made regarding what the older Padawan wore.

In hindsight, it made a little sense. It was cold and rather revealing, especially for a marketplace. Then again, Zaiya vaguely recalled that Echani had issues with clothing and wanted to wear more free flowing attire. Zaiya herself was of a Dresh heritage as a Lovalla, so she could withstand frigid temperatures, and while her robe was pretty with its silver embroidery, she still had a warm comfy wrap around her shoulders just in case.

Oh isn't she cold? Zaiya mused, not realizing the rather comical situation as others likely would have asked her the same thing. At least, until Cerys turned to Zaiya next with a blunt question. One that made Zaiya's eyes grow as wide as saucers only to narrow in remembrance in aggravation at the mere mention of the insufferable blonde.

" Lysander von Ascania Lysander von Ascania is not my boyfriend or friend that is a boy either!" Might as well make that clear! Zaiya thought, a distinct ripple of aggravated kaleidoscopic swirl of colors immediately sparking over her face and shoulders. Even her brows drew forward, and her lips pursed in a comical twist of annoyance.

"And would someone please explain what is so wrong about these Herbel remedies that you all have to mention it? Aren't they just rejuvenation tonics?" she asked, equal parts confused, flustered, and starting to feel herself get anxious when she had only been trying to help.

"There is nothing wrong with my wares, Miss! I sell top grade enhancing and stamina remedies! There have been no complaints about their vigor and rejuvenation qualities!" The merchant piped up defensively, immediately causing Zaiya to blanch in apology as she quickly said, "Oh, I'm very sorry, I wasn't intending to suggest there is anything wrong with them."

None the less, the look she shot at Lily, Cerys and Joro after seemed to say, See! So they were tonics used to help people with feeling rejuvenated! Wasn't that the same as curato salva?

Poor Zaiya, of course; the herbal remidies true meaning and purpose all went over her head.

Toes twinkled across the dance floor in a manner so light and breezy as to defy belief for any that would have known the brooding, sarcastic Brandyn Sal-Soren of...a few months ago. Instead, he felt as light as a feather. He had left Briana for just a moment to see if he could find Cybelle who had disappeared into the Queen's festivities ahead of them. So far, his attempts to find his wife had been unsuccessful.

So, he danced his way across the floor back towards Briana, and...was that Dreidi? "Dreidi!" He said, smile as broad as a Nexu. It felt like forever since he had seen her, and she certainly seemed to have been busy. His eyes widened and flitted between her face and stomach several times in that awkward moment where he wasn't sure if he should say something.

"Congratulations?" He said, head tilting and wincing as he hoped he had not read this wrong.

He looped his arm back around Briana's and glared down at the two flutes she held. "Hey...one of those..." He looked at her again. "...you sly...womprat."

He grinned at Dreidi again. "Both of you ladies look absolutely stunning today. But...I still cannot...seem...to find..."

His eyes wandered again. "Oh...never mind...I am sure she is here somewhere."

He squeezed Briana's arm, hoping it would send her a message of love and concern. Her drinking both glasses would not go unnoticed or undiscussed later on. There would be no spiralling on his watch.

"What brings you to Naboo, Dreidi?"

Dagos wasn’t sure what to do with himself. Lifeday was usually one of his favorite times of the year. A Korunai kid growing up on Nar Shaddaa was not exactly accustomed to snow or the beauty of it, so ever since his first time celebrating, Dag had just been excited about it.

As Dag walked through Dee’Ja Peak much more somberly than the occasion called for. Homes, shops, the streets themselves were ornately and festively decorated. The chit really was cool. The issue was that it sort of made Dagos think of the last few Lifedays and just how alone he had been for them. The first he’d ever celebrated, his family on Nar Shaddaa never celebrated the holiday, was on Ossus with other Jedi, people he thought could be his friends. It wasn’t long after that he went to Cato Neimoidia and chit the less said about that the better, safe to say though that was the start of a down trend for Dagos. Any Lifeday celebration after that wasn’t worth mentioning, a mix of lonely days or spice stupor.

He’d kicked the spice…for the most part…but today as he traveled the snowy streets, he was still alone, still lonely. Learning that the new Jedi enclave here on Naboo was started by a few of the Jedi he once thought could be his friends had put his mood a little low, just a reminder of how far behind he had fallen from them before they just left him altogether.

Dagos who swear on The Most Hight never pouted, not ever, was walking past the sleigh rides, totally and completely uninterested in gettin in one of those things alone, when he noticed a commotion at the front of the line. It looked and sounded like in passing that the operator was trying to tell someone they couldn’t get on. It wasn’t any of Dagos business, on real, but he couldn’t help but notice that the person being denied was to put it plainly a cutie, and by herself from the looks of it.

“Kark it,” Dag said to himself and turned to go over to the guy and see if he could help some home.

If you’re worried about me getting into one of the sleighs, don’t be! I can still move myself enough to-

That’s not the point, we can’t risk the liability of something happening.

“Yo, man! If I ride with her, we cool?” Dag asked approaching the two. Over the woman in the hover chair’s shoulder, Dagos flashed a few credits to the guy in charge of the rides. If Dag knew one thing it was that credits talked.

Maybe the redheaded stranger wouldn’t appreciate his butting in but no one else was trying to help.

“Hey, I’m Dagos” He introduced himself to her holding his hand out.

SENTIMENTAL FEELING

"You are not happy here? Why not go back to Utakis then?" Persephone paused, considering his words. "Or you have outgrown those you have left behind perhaps?"

She was not fully aware of his meaning. Beyond that, there were many reasons why Lysander von Ascania Lysander von Ascania could be feeling a little lost for the moment. Her gaze fell on the stalls, debating if she wanted to shop. Persephone loved shopping, rarely passed up an opportunity to do so. Yet this was her first year celebrating Life Day and she was still unsure of the entire premise of gift giving. It was the what types of gifts. So far it seemed anything was fair game and there were no hard and fast rules.

"Sleigh ride?" That was new. "That would be fine."

Brows furrowed when he mentioned the security droid. A small shake of her head, as if disappointed he didn't understand. The droid only intervened in life-and-death or harmful situations. Everything else was daily reports back to her parents. It was clear the blonde teenager still did not understand.

"So if I ditch the droid I'll get grounded again. I just got off being grounded when you convinced me to ditch on Challon. I'd love to get rid of the thing. I pray for the malfunction of its parts every day. The minute I leave it behind it will alert my parents."

Persephone paused, taking a sip of the cider and looking at Lysander. Shoulders squared, preparing herself.

"If its a problem I understand. I can wander around by myself and you can meet up with your friends if you don't want to deal with it."

"I need help-"

He hadn't really noticed the other woman there, but he did when the others mentioned her, and nodded his head in greeting. Her clothing choice didn't really bother him. What did bother him was the attitude from Cerys. She was always like this, but one of these days it was really going to come back and bite her. So why shouldn't he embarrass her in front of literally everyone in the market?

"Well, Cerys Dyn, the fact you're in this stall, looking at goods for vitality and stamina in the bedroom, is probably proof positive that whatever man wants anything to do with you, is not actually attracted to you, because you hate yourself so much you can't possible show him any love."

Yeah, he went there. He didn't care. She was a brat and deserved it. Besides, there were more important matters to attend to, and honestly, he was really looking for some help from Zaiya. Cerys didn't have to be such a jerk to her or him, considering they had been nice and courteous to her. It reflected poorly on herself, but then she knew that and it was part of why she did it. He knew she wanted people to not want her around because it somehow made her feel better. Not that he understood why that was.

Turning his attention back to Zaiya, his voice and visage softened. She was nice. Cerys was not.

"I need help finding some gifts for Lossa. I want to buy her something nice and do kind of a secret gift giving to her. Problem is, I don't know her well and I am terrible at picking gifts. I would make her some food, but I think it would be too easy for her to figure out it was me, then."

It was strange, admitting to someone you barely knew that you were attracted to someone you also barely knew. This time of year, though, giving of gifts was pleasant and he felt that if he gave her something she loved, and she figured out it was him, it would be much easier for him to speak with her and get to know her than it would be if he just randomly went up to her and started talking to her. Especially after the debacle at the training grounds days before. She was liable to punch him for it. She'd been the hardest one to scold, though, because all she did was not stop it.
