Private For A Piece of Chocolate

He’s certainly no slouch on his feet.

Myvette’s back slammed into the ground shunting the wind from her lungs. She should have expected this, the guy’s going to fight a war in like a day! Her clumsy attack isn’t going to best him. Rolling to her knees the floor shook under Myvette as a dark shadow quickly spread around her. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up as the air itself whistled a song of danger. Her body felt weightless, while her mind was heavy with dread.

Spinning around, Myvette thrust her hand forward with palpable intent the energy around her warping and crashing with power. The Force, ripped across the room and toward Jax with such focus it almost broke Myvette out of her meditative state.

Standing up, Myvette brushed the hair out of her face and adjusted her…wait…

What’s happened to my mask!? It doesn’t fall off very often, maybe once or twice…but I can’t seem to find it anywhere…

Myvette’s fingers ran across the curtain of skin covering her eyesockets. Could this be the doing Jax Thio Jax Thio ? Or perhaps there's something more intricate at play...

Myvette rolled out of the way, Jax's fist slammed on the ground leaving a decent sized hole onto the floor. "Good, I can feel her connection to the Force strengthening," Jax thought. "She's beginning to believe."

Turning around to meet the young girl, Jax noticed her mask missing exposing her eyeless face. "You connection to the Force is growing stronger Myvette," Jax said. "But you still have moments where you're thinking not feeling. Place your trust in the Force."

The Jedi Master continued the barrage of punches aiming for face, stomach, neck, arm. A highly randomized and unpredictable flurry no doubt she would be overwhelmed by the attacks and be knocked on her feet yet again. But the goal for Jax wasn't to defeat her but to get her to fully trust in the Force.

Myvette shivered at the crater in the dojo floor and how close it was to where her head had laid. Myvette still hadn’t concluded what might happen should she be knocked out or seriously injured here, the mental repercussions could be dire. She was thinking and not feeling he said, but what did that mean? Feeling the Force is important but battles aren’t won on faith and spirituality! They’re won on wit and bravery? Is it not possible to commit to both at the same time? Or does giving oneself to the Force grant the solutions one seeks?

Myvette’s quest to discover the meaning behind Jax’s words left her unprepared for his second more erratic attack. Stumbling into the wall Myvette temporarily lost her footing and slumped onto the floor where she didn’t stay long before rolling back to her feet now cradling her side.

“I can still see you, master.”

She’d been seeing him and the rest of the world the same way she’d had from the beginning. Through the Force. How blind could she be to question her ability to become one with the universe when she’d been connecting with the Force through her lack of eyes for as long as she could remember? Looking through a lens now it was clear to Myvette that Jax represented a core issue within herself. Fear. Surely not the fear of him but the fear of failure and disappointing herself and those around her.

I don’t have time to think about that! If this keeps up the only thing I’ll learn today is that master hits like a Rancor on death sticks.

Raising both her hands, Myvette stepped into a defensive stance her focus locked on Jax and the way his weight was carried. When the enemy goes off balance that's when you counter them, and he knows it. Jax uses the Force to guide his movements, it was he was trying to teach her, so if she can break his focus she can break him.

This may not be the focus of the training but that’s no reason to get pummeled into the wall!

Breathing deeply, Myvette responded to Jax with a series of quick jabs and chops aimed to prod at him without opening up her defense. Probably not the best strategy but this whole lesson was about trusting in the Force no?

"You can see me," Jax said pressing on the attack placing Myvette towards a corner with an assortment of punches and kicks aiming at random locations. "But belief is what I'm looking for."

He could sense that Myvette was starting to get it. The Force was starting to connect to her mind filling the young girl with knowledge and wisdom needed to commune with him and Anneliese Kaohal Anneliese Kaohal synapses in her brain starting to go into overdrive thanks to the power of the Force. "You're doing well Myvette!" Jax said effortlessly blocking her attacks. "Imagination and Improvisation but your weakness lies not in your technique."

The Jedi Master answered with a round house that struck Myvette across the jaw sending on the ground. Jax walked over to the young girl placing his hands on his hips. She understood why she was in this projection but the only thing missing was how she was going to trust in the Living Force to embrace the life energy right in front of her. "How did I beat you?" Jax asked.

Myvette’s hand moved to shield her jaw a second too late as Jax brought his heel across her face sending the girl flying to the ground. Myvette laid there for what felt like hours her head splitting while the whole world spun. The light of the dojo was obscured by the figure of Jax hunching over her, still lecturing. He questioned Myvette about her loss and it baffled the young Jedi, it was obvious enough, wasn’t it?

“Masterhood, tactics, experience in battle, this fight’s stacked heavily in your favor master. There’s not much else to it. You have a deep connection to the Force whereas I don’t. When the energies of the universe are on your side there isn’t too much I can do is there?”

Myvette stood and cracked her jaw into place a satisfying pop leaving her mouth.

“I didn’t believe in the Force so I lost. But that’s not why I lost now is it?” Myvette folded her arms and leaned against a nearby wall her face turned away from Jax. Her frustrations were growing. “Even if I believed in the Force. Even if I believed in MYSELF. I still would have lost, and we both know it.” Myvette stood up straight as her body began to flicker and lose its opacity.

“It’s hard to trust in the Force when it’s constantly telling me lies.” Myvette’s vision darkened, her ability to see was so reliant on the Force that her withering connection corrupted her sight as well. “It’s even harder to trust in myself when I tell my ego the same lies day after day hoping something will change. You know somedays I ALMOST manage to trick myself."

"Lies?" Jax gave a bemused smile at Myvette's predicament. It was almost similar to Jax' conundrum with Carnifex, like Myvette needed to accept what the Force was telling him about his family. Soon he'll need confront the truth of his father but right now what's important was that Myvette did not fall in the same pitfall of denial that Jax did. "The Force is telling you what you need to hear. If there's anything lying to you, is yourself."

Jax placed his hands behind his back. "My Padawan," he said. "Your bestfriend and your worst enemy is yourself. You cannot begin to allow the Force to come into you without knowing you. Who are you Myvette? Who do you care for? What do you want out of life?"

R.a98e06c2a36aacb414313281cb5cb98d

The Jedi Master got into a fighting stance stonefaced and determined to get Myvette to see. "You are better than this Myvette," he said. "Don't think, feel the Force around you. Draw energy from it, clear your mind and believe that you have what it takes to be a Jedi. The first steps in achieving goals is starts with belief. The Jedi Order could not survive if we did not believe."

"You can do it," Jax thought. "Search your feelings."

She should have known Jax wouldn’t let her get away with a remark like hers, but did he really intend to keep pummeling her until the knowledge just…clicked? He’s really determined, even more so than the other masters who honestly seemed prepared to throw in the towel and ship her to the agricultural corps. Even so, as Jax’s foot-launched Myvette into the wall of sabers sending many of the hilts falling to the floor growing a patch of Meilooruns on a distant world sounded pretty good.

He moves so erratically that it’s like trying to watch the blades on a blender! I can’t decide where he’s going to strike in time to block and yet he’s already deciphered my attack patterns!? No. It’s more than knowledge or battle experience. I don’t even think HE really knows what he’s doing.

Tilting her head to the side, Myvette narrowly dodged a punch that left the wall beside her cratered. Instinctively she rolled away from the man and hopped to her feet. He asked her what she wanted out of life and for the first time today, it was a question she had an iron-clad answer to.

“I’m Myvette…and I want to help people. Jedi aren’t supposed to be driven by emotion but when I help someone…I just get this kick out of it. It feels good!” Myvette delved deeper into herself truly getting lost in her thoughts. “I have a sweet tooth, I like-well I USED to like talking to people and I uh…I haven’t thought about myself since…well I’d rather not get back into-”

Stepping back Myvette slapped a punch from Jax to the side, his fist going through her curtain of hair as she walked back out of range. Myvette’s body ceased to flicker as the space behind her could no longer be spotted through the girl's torso.

“With all due respect master, I don’t think my problem is so much that I don’t know myself as much as it is I do know who I am, and what I’ve done. Do you understand how hard it is for me to talk right now? Even within this space? And now you're telling me not to think and just give in to the Force…and it’s scary in a way.”

Myvette breathed deeply as her bare feet slapped against the floor her shoes fallen into the abyss. If for nothing else, giving herself to the Force meant she didn’t have to think about…that. If this training could help her think about something else, ANYTHING else, then she’s all for it.

Myvette started throwing punches, kicks, slaps, everything. It no longer mattered if her moves made any sense or how random they were because she’d do the first thing that popped into her brain, Myvette was running a pure instinct letting the energy of the room, the air, her body, her desire, she let it all run through her and empower her to fight on even while worry racked her brain, the fear of stepping into the void her foot hanging over the edge daring gravity to plunge her into darkness.

She didn’t have to rely on herself to fight, she could entrust that to the Force and let its currents protect her while she searched for the golden light.

The way to win.

“...What is that…?”

Leaning to the side, Myvette watched feeling almost outside of her body as Jax’s arm soared past her chin and into the wall once more. Arcs of crimson energy blasted from his skin while a bright glowing ruby line ran down his arm like cracked stone. The crack exuded Force energy at the highest level and pulled Myvette toward it like a call.

Slowly Myvette reached toward the faultline her eyes shimmering with a dangerous light. What was this eerie enigma? And why didn’t Jax take notice of it? Does he not see it? Surely the blast of energy would have caught his gaze! No, the only explanation is that he couldn’t see it and this is a visage for her and her alone. In the end, she was robbed of the chance to pry further as her connection severed giving Jax leeway to shunt her to the floor. She should have been frustrated but only intrigue racked her brain.

I still have so much to learn about the Force. She lamented to herself.

"It is scary Myvette," Jax said. "I never said this was going to be easy but all you need is to breathe and place your full into the Force." That was kept Jedi from fufilling their full potential by not giving themselves fully to the Force. There were those who would devote only a part of themselves but never enough to where the Force is guiding their actions like a puppet master pulling their strings.

"You don't know yourself," Jax said blocking her attack which came at a randomized onslaught. "That is true, but knowing who you are is the first step into knowing yourself. Plant the seeds and allow them to grow! Stop doubting! Believe!"

Myvette came at Jax again attacking at 16 strikes per second. Jax could feel the Force taking hold of the young girl, she was starting to trust. She ramped up her attacks this time at 18 strikes per second then 20 then..... 30? "Intriging," Jax thought now on the defensive struggling to hold against his own Padawan. "The Force is strong with her."

It was only then Myvette managed to land a hit on Jax's chest causing him to stumble back. A smile formed on his face as he raised his hand for her to stop. "You did it," Jax said simply. "You're taking a small step into a larger world."

With a snap of his fingers, Jax opened his eye feeling the cool breeze of Alderaan's air as he turned to his apprentice. "Can you speak to me now Myvette?" Jax asked her.

Blind faith…was that all there was to it? To focus on nothing is to believe in yourself and your abilities? To believe that your strength won’t fail you, that the FORCE won’t fail you? For Myvette her hand connecting with Jax’s cheek didn’t mean nearly as much as the lesson connecting with her.

“I guess there’s something stronger than fear. The Force.” She clenched her fists straining against the sinking feeling in her chest. “The question is…am I stronger than fear…?”

She was only allowed to deride herself for an instant as Myvette fell out of her body and back into reality, cold air whipping against her exposed face. Her skin ran blue from the chilling mountainside and her butt was numb from sitting on the freezing stone floor for who knows how long. Standing, Myvette brushed the ice off her clothing and adjusted her black mask, its cloth soothing to fiddle with.

Yes, Master. Her voice echoed through the Force and into the mind of Jax. I can speak. Loud and clear right? I honestly didn’t think I’d be speaking to anyone aloud…even like this. Myvette lowered herself in a bow of reverence. Thank you. I can see why Anneliese loves you so much.

Reaching into her bag, Myvette ripped open a stick of chocolate it’s sugary relief was all she needed. Biting into the chocolate Myvette's demeanor soured if only a little. But there's something else. You hide it well master but the Miraluka specialize in seeing the unseen. I can see the worry painted on your face, Master. Myvette breathed deeply, it was still difficult to focus on thinking of what to say and not thinking so that the Force could flow through her. You'll survive. I believe that. There was this guy once who took me to a mountain and told me to stop doubting and believe. I just hope he knew to take his own advice. She would have winked just to be extra cheeky but...well that requires eyes.

Jax observed the sunrise, the rays peeking through the edges of the mountains. He loved to meditate on the mountains every morning, it placed Jax at peace and harmony with the Force. The morning was made even better when Myvette was successfully able to communicate through him via telepathy. "That's great!" Jax said his heart bursting with pride for his Myvette, she managed to overcome her fear and began to trust in the Force. "That's only the first step but it's the most important one, the path of a Jedi is full trial and tribulations and you will be afraid. But when drown out the voices of doubt in your mind and just take a step. There's no telling where you'll swept off to."

The Jedi Master smiled breathing in the frigid air. "Faith. Is the fundamental key freeing your mind and allowing yourself feel the Force around. You, me, Anneliese Kaohal Anneliese Kaohal , the trees, and yes even the rocks. The Force breathes life into all living things, do not listen to you inner doubts. Quiet your mind and listen to the rhythm of life."

Myvette mentioned there was worry etched Jax's face, he did his best to hide but he should've know that her species had the ability to sense people's inner turmoil. They were naturally connected to the Force after all. "I appreciate the fact you've been paying attention to my teachings." Jax chuckled. "But I'll be fine Myvette, thank you for you words of encouragement. I'm glad that I'm able to allow you to speak."

The Jedi Master turned to his apprentice. "Now we move on to lesson two." he said smiling. "Follow me."

Myvette frowned at her master’s dodgy yet solid answer. She shouldn’t have expected him to feed into her curiosity when he could instead try to allay her concerns but Myvette couldn’t help but feel worried for him. Jedi aren’t supposed to give into emotion, but many great Jedi have been felled by their own inability to acknowledge said emotions. It wasn’t her place to question Jax or the beliefs of the Jedi as a mere Padawan but even she as an apprentice could see that the order had a bad habit of disregarding the human element all Jedi possess.

They weren’t gods, they weren’t even demi-gods. They are people. Mortals. And no mortal should be forced to hide their emotions from those around them.

He’ll be fine, he says. Myvette scoffed to herself. Anyone who ever said that was lying. Hands down.

Myvette shoved her hands into her jacket pockets to shield them from the chilling air as she followed behind Jax who’s mind hadn’t fully drifted from his thoughts of worry. Having said that, Myvette didn’t have the most concrete vision that one could have. Her status as a Miraluka and an empath could be corrupting her sight causing the girl to see fires where there were sparks. Or even worse, Myvette was pushing her own feelings of fear and concern onto Jax and connecting the two.

Myvette reached out to Jax through the Force, her voice a ping in the endless expanse. So now that we can speak, what exactly IS lesson two? I hope I don’t have to fight you again…dear ashla…

Myvette ran her hand over her chin. Even though the fight and the impact were not real, she could still feel the phantom pain like a memory.

"You better get used to it my dear apprentice," Jax chuckled. "Your hand-to-hand combat is impressive but is lacking in refinement. In order for one to improve, they must constantly train."

The Jedi Master continued to walk through the temple seeing the Sun rising. "Which means Myvette you and I will be sparring a lot," Jax said. "It's better to correct your mistakes in a controlled environment rather than in live combat."

He could sense Myvette's irritation that Jax would be fine. It was going to be tough to conceal his emotions from her. Truth be told, Jax was thinking of leaving the Order to isolate himself and take on Carnifex on his own. Maybe Myvette would be better off with Valery Noble Valery Noble hopefully as a temporary apprentice.

The two reached a large chasm the cliffs about 20 feet apart from one another. "There," Jax pointed to the other side. "You have to let it all go Myvette," Jax said. "Fear, doubt, uncertainty. You must adjust your mind to a whole new way of understanding how the Galaxy works now that you are connected to the Force."

Turning around, Jax leapt high in the air taking in the cool wind before landing effortlessly on the other side.

matrix-jump-good.gif

"It's your turn!" Jax called out. "Don't spend too much time thinking, feel the Force around you!"

Myvette shivered at the thought of engaging Jax, or maybe it was just the cold of the mountain? Either way, if there was ever a reason not to fall to the dark side he was it. Stepping closer to the path and away from the edge, Myvette slipped her bar of chocolate back into her bag having reached a break in the earth. Myvette could feel her heart falling into her stomach, an avatar of dread pushing down on her shoulders.

She knew what was coming next.

First sparring and now this? If he didn’t just teach me to have faith I’d swear he was trying to kill me!

Kicking up a plume of dust, Jax soared across the chasm her ‘eyes’ nearly mistaking it as flight opposed to the Force enhanced jump it truly was. Myvette wanted to jump after him but her body refused to move, even now every part of her told Myvette that the jump simply wasn’t possible. She HAD to do it, she had to jump and now he was calling for her…but she couldn’t do it.

She couldn’t do it.

She couldn’t…do it…

She…

Cracking the ground beneath her, Myvette split the air as she rocketed upwards her arms flailing in a panic. She couldn’t feel anything, see anything, think anything, lest she break the connection between herself and the Force and plummet an unthinkable stretch to the ground. The wind cut across her face as Myvette was pulled back toward the dirt, her brow somehow managing to sweat in the frigid air.

Still flailing, Myvette felt as though a blaster round had ripped through her as the girl's legs fell just short of the cliff side leaving nothing but the foggy expanse beneath the young Jedi.

NO.

The word echoed through the Force casting ripples on its otherwise calm waters. The ripple traveled up her arm and onto the cliff side where her fingers wrapped around the unmoving stone and cracked it, her grip proving tighter. She had fallen beneath the cliff’s edge, her arms hopelessly out of reach but it didn’t matter. The Force ran between her, Jax Thio Jax Thio , Anneliese Kaohal Anneliese Kaohal and yes…even the rocks.

Pulling herself upwards, Myvette was feeling the strain in her head building until her hand touched the cliff side and her bicep took on the girl’s weight. Breathless and sapped of energy, Myvette rolled onto level ground.

No one could have told me that doing nothing and letting the Force take over and do all the work would be so tiring! If the Force is doing all the heavy lifting then why is it so exhausting!

Rolling back to her feet, Myvette pulled her jacket back over herself and adjusted her mask which had almost fallen off during the jump. She’s going to have to work on this isn’t she? Yeah, she is.

Jax stood on the other side of the cliff, his heart racing wondering if Myvette could pull this off. No one's perfect on the first jump, be it that they fall, or land awkwardly, or they're just too afraid. Jax remembered breaking his leg the first time he jumped, for Myvette this was more of a confidence issue. "Come on Myvette," Jax whispered feeling the girl's fear. "Just reach out and feel the Force around you."

The girl jumped as high as she could yet Jax could feel her doubt mid air. The Jedi Master's heart raced a little faster, she was going to fall was she?! Impulsively Jax reached into the Force to try to help her but the Force was telling him something..... to let her go and allow her to overcome her fear herself. Raising a Padawan was like raising a child, sometimes you need to let the child make a decision for themselves to take what you have taught them and decide if they will pass it on or forge a new path. Still, Jax and Myvette have only started training she needed a lot of guidance.

Yet seeing Myvette make the other side bought a feeling of pride to Jax she still landed awkwardly but she nonetheless made it to the other side. "She's getting better at believing," Jax thought. "Myvette is very talented she just needs a lot of fine tuning."

The Jedi Master ran over and helped Myvette up chuckling. "In layman's terms," Jax said. "The Force uses your body as a battery of sorts. One can only be a conduit without burning out. As you learn to train your mind and your body, soon getting run over by a speeder will be similar to being punched in the face."

Jax paused. "Okay maybe that's a little too morbid," he said. "But you'll learn how to control the Force and endure the worst pains and perform spectacular feats. It just takes time!"

Myvette even with Jax’s help stumbled to her feet struggling to keep her footing. The battery analogy wasn’t one she had heard before but it made the most sense to the girl, too much energy into a single battery and its bound to burn out and be unusable. Now that she was thinking about it, Myvette wondered if it was possible to explode like a battery too, for the Force to channel through someone so intensely that it overloads them and they…well that’s a grisly thought. She’d better be careful when channeling the Force.

But master…she cast ripples in the Force, her voice carried on the waves, what happens if I DO burn myself out? Will I just…not be able to use the Force? What would that be like? Would I just be really tired? You’ve got to admit there’s a lot to think about there!

Her concerns were growing, but not out of fear this time but more out of curiosity. A burning desire for knowledge, but even that when untamed could be equally as dangerous.

Jax could feel that Myvette was asking questions not out of concern but of curiosity. Sure, Jax felt shimmers of fear in the tone of Myvette's voice, but she was slowly becoming confident. "If you're asking if you're going to drop dead if you use too much of the Force," Jax chuckled. "You're not but you'll be exhausted. Your Force reserves will need some time to recharge meaning that your attacks will be less powerful, you're susceptible to be force pushed, force shoved and you'll be relying on your own limits."

Which is why Jax always stressed to train your body just in case you get pushed to the limit. "The best way," Jax said. "Is to rest and food typically sugar for that easy rush."

He pointed to her bag which contained her chocolate bars. "But also you can expand your Force reserves through meditation and of course: Practice."

Sugar? Myvette couldn’t tell if he was joking or fully serious but she decided to err on the side of option B. At the very least it gave her an excuse to carry around so many sweets, not that it would help if anyone seriously inquired about it. But obviously sugar isn’t the secret ingredient to cosmic might or spirituality, Myvette would have to spend hundreds or maybe even thousands of hours in deep meditation to get to her master’s level.

No she was aiming a bit too high, she’d eventually start comparing herself to Jax but doing so right now as a novice will only lead to disappointment and failure. Myvette knows herself that she gets frustrated when she can’t find signs of tangible progress.

Actually now that she thought about it more and more, not a single person came to mind. She needed to set a milestone for herself, if she can do that the progress will come naturally and she would see it. Maybe her lessons in faith haven’t sunk in all the way yet…

A ripple in the Force Myvette’s words echoed through the void. Meditation and practice? That can’t be it right? I know I know I know, the light side demands temperance but I don’t BELIEVE that expanding my energy reserves can be that simple. There’s always a catch, some kind of wall I have to overcome. I’ve been told for as long as I can remember that I’m blocking my connection with the Force but I just…

Myvette stopped herself with a calming breath, she was spiraling a lot today too wasn’t she?

It’s just that today I felt like I was finally going to get what I’ve been looking for all this time and you're just giving me the same lines about patience and practice that EVERYONE’S been giving me! I don’t know what I’m doing that makes it so hard for me to have faith but I just DON’T. BELIEVE. I’m not wired that way.

Jax chuckled at Myvette, she let her self-doubt creep yet again. It wasn't a surprise even when a person becomes a fully-fledged Jedi Knight, the self doubt never completely goes away. Even he had doubts about being considered a Master. "You're lying Myvette," Jax said smiling. "You do believe, you just don't believe that you are believing."

He placed his hand on her shoulder using the Force to send calming energies throughout her body. "All of the stuff you've accomplished today, is nothing short of impressive. The fact that you are able to communicate telepathically despite your doubts is a hard feat to accomplish. The fact that you were able to make your first jump is a rarity. Many padawans fall the first time but you Myvette managed to make it to the other side. I sensed that belief in you, the way you let go of your inner doubts and allowed the Force to guide you."

The Jedi Master looked at Myvette. "You have the potential to be great," he said. "To say that you're not wired that way is folly, when you open your mind to the Force you are introduced to endless possibilities. But you cannot place limits on yourself, there's always room for improvement. Even I am learning more about myself each day."

Jax smiled letting go of Myvette. "Who is the Jedi's greatest enemy Myvette?"

She was…lying? No no she couldn’t be! She didn’t believe...right? I mean she could see with the Force but…is that all there is to it? Not believing that she could believe when she believes-all this belief it’s hurting her head! If for no other reason, Myvette would start believing if it gave her an excuse to stop splitting her skull open with all this. But then Jax had to go and ask another question, one that should have been simple but was still contentious in her mind.

“Well the first thing that I think of is the Sith of course. But then again the Brotherhood’s been pretty nasty as well…so I wanna say evil is our greatest enemy but…” She stroked her chin covered by the beard that wasn’t there. “I think you were looking for something more than that. Something deeper….”

Myvette thought back to earlier in the dojo. Her mind skimmed over everything Jax Thio Jax Thio said looking for anything that could point her in the right direction. Then it hit her.

“You said that I’m my own worst enemy right?” Her thoughts transcended into the Force. That applies to everyone else too doesn’t it? Are you saying that the Jedi’s worst enemy is ourselves? Or am I just reading too much into this…” She hoped not otherwise it’ll just seem like she was worrying again. Looking back, it really is crazy just how much she doubted the Force when she uses it on a day to day basis without even thinking about it.

Jax smiled when Myvette correctly answered the question, she was a perceptive kid using what Jax taught her to deduce the very thing that he was trying to tell her all morning. "You are correct my padawan," Jax said placing a finger on Myvette's forehead. "That is the lesson Myvette the Sith, some common cantina brawler can do what they can to break you mentally but the only person that can truly defeat you..... is yourself."

He gently tapped Myvette's forehead. "At the end of the day, your best friend and your worst enemy is yourself. It's always yourself, you can choose to give into hate, you can choose to believe that nothing is working. Honestly, we are more of a prisoner of our imagination than reality. Thinking that you can't become a Jedi. If you don't believe that you can become a Jedi than why in the world are you here then."

The Jedi Master smiled. "One of these days you will have to face yourself," Jax said. "And you will have to make the hard decisions in determining who you are and how you perceive yourself. Because you will wrestle yourself more than some Sith Lord. If you want to be a Jedi than the key is to master yourself Myvette. I can only guide you my apprentice, but you must face what you fear the most when the time comes, and you take on the trials."

He shrugged. "But I do believe in you Myvette," Jax said. "You've made a believer out of me today; you have the potential to be a great Jedi."
