Faction [Foundation] 'Cause Somebody Will Soon Arrive

Location: Pathfinder, Map Room.
Inventory: Field Apparel, Lightsaber, K-16 Bryar Pistol, Navi.
NPC's: Chip.
Interacting With: Choli Vyn Choli Vyn , Coren Starchaser Coren Starchaser , Trextan Voidstalker Trextan Voidstalker , Okkeus Dainlei Okkeus Dainlei & Iona Starchaser Iona Starchaser

Balun snorted quietly at Iona Starchaser Iona Starchaser 's remark about making friends, shooting her a lopsided grin paired with a mock-glare. She was teasing—encouraging him in that playful, needling way of hers. All fair in fun and games. Yet despite the amusement, he didn't feel like he had much to contribute to the discussion regarding their trajectory. He was here to provide support where needed, and if something went wrong with the ship, he could certainly be put to work. But from the look of the frigate, he doubted there'd be any mechanical trouble—unless, of course, they ran into a fight.

The more he took in the ship's design, the more familiar it felt. His curiosity got the better of him, drawing his attention away from the conversation. Without much thought, Balun began to wander, his gaze drifting along the bulkheads as he made his way toward the aft section. His mind was already dissecting the vessel's engineering, wondering what kind of fusion or hypermatter engine powered this particular beauty.

Compared to Starchaser Enterprises, Dashiell Retrofit™ was still in its infancy. As a subsidiary of Dashiell Incorporated, his company had the security to develop at its own pace, allowing time for careful planning and expansion. While he didn't immediately recognise this ship as one of Starchaser Enterprises' models, knowing Iona—and now realizing her uncle was involved—it wasn't hard to make an educated guess. Keeping an eye on the corporate world was second nature to him, and connections like these were worth noting.

Choli exhaled through her nose, shaking her head again, this time with something closer to amusement at Trextan's response but drifted a half smile over at Okkeus at his name. Choli then did the same to Iona and Balun, as the Mirialan came closer.

"Choli," she introduced herself to them before flicking her gaze back to the map, watching as the Farstine route locked in with the majority of the group fine tuning their charts. The navicomp displayed it in crisp blue lines, the path threading cleanly through the mess of grav wells and trade routes. The Seswenna routes were all but scrapped, and the other alternatives weren't looking much better. But Farstine? -- No sudden red flags. No blinking alerts. Just a solid, workable jump.

Choli leaned back, arms crossing as she studied the data. She'd been running routes long enough to know when one felt right and this one did. The clean jump, the natural cover of the surrounding systems, and best of all, the lack of heavy Sith activity.

"Looks damn near perfect," she said, tapping the projection. "Farstine's a go."

"Hold up," went Trextan.

The navcomp ran off the data it had. Hyperspace was difficult to navigate cleanly though busy regions of space. Open, flat space time enabled straight vector plotting. As much as the concept of 'straight' applied to multidimensional hyperspace.

"Route is good but..."

He pointed towards the vectors on the map. One of them went red.

"...reports of micro black holes moving there."

He fed the navcomp the extra data. It wasn't new maps, but a risk factor for a region. The routes changed. The navcomp gave another affirmative beep.

"All good."

Trextan leaned back and crossed his arms. Realising he was echoing Choli's posture, he sat forwards on his seat.

"What next?" he asked Coren, realising he had no idea.

Okkeus watched as the route flickered across the blue-hued map.

It brought him joy to see a group working together like this to solve an astronomical problem. Reminded him of his Padawan days, working with his fellow classmates as they learned the ways of the Force. Now they were on the fringes of space, trying to find a way to help those who were struggling in the galaxy. Thankfully Farstine looked like the right first step in their equation. Trextan noted a black hole that might have formed within the area, but some slight changes to the path made everything compute fine.

"Only thing left now is to go and fly the route itself."

The man gave the holomap one final glance before moving his gaze towards Coren. This was his ship after all.

"Shall we head out?"

The ship was moving, and that was good. Coren knew that a few things would have to take place for this to work right. One, the ship had to accept the abbreviated path. It was only one of a few jumps. He knew that it would take some polish before it was ready for the Foundation, but the fact that they were using the Pathfinder class, it’d be ready for some frigates. If he could get the Sojourner up and running soon, he’d have something more cruiser-level to start these trailblazing attempts from.

As he looked over at Iona, he nodded. He could feel that they’d definitely be making their first jump but something was a little… too right about it?

Looking at the path, he saw what it was. Was that fully the work of the computer? He didn’t think so, the computer would have pulled them out at the first sign of a gravity well, but what Iona managed to create a little boost around the planet and they were heading for Naboo. That was really interesting. The Warden of the Sky smiled to himself as he watched the hyperspace tunnel and kept looking over the students, and other trainees.

“Keep on the work, but lets add something. An old spacer trick. Instinctive Astrogation. Iona’s trip was supposed to send us to Farstine, but when we’re out of hyperspace? Going to be closer to Naboo. A bit of a slingshot around Quila, as opposed to being pulled from hyperspace by the gravity well.

“Now what I want, look at the maps, let the computer simulate it, but see if you can parse the trip together from Naboo to Yag’Dhul, on the Rimma and Corellian routes. Its a few different worlds between here and there, but lets see what we’ve got. You’ll give them to Porter, again.
” Coren smiled.

It was going to be very difficult, but he was designing it that way. Both for the Foundation and for the others.

Iona gave a small nod of affirmation. Frankly her attempt had been beginners luck and a bit of intuition. Unlike the other Starchasers, she wasn't the type of Starchaser who was the spacer, navigate by the seat of her ass type. Iona considered herself much more measured and studious. Certainly not one of the 'cool' family members, her father was a master mechanic. She was technically just some idiot teenager out on a journey of exploration and understanding.

Head down, she focued on a journey from the Farstine area to Plooriod III, wondering if there was a path they could carve straight across and save some time.

The navicomputer hummed softly, feeding back the final calculations as Choli leaned back in her seat, eyes scanning the route one last time. Naboo to Yag'Dhul -- along the Rimma and Corellian routes. A solid run, but not without its risks. But they did it.

She stretched her fingers over the controls, flexing them as the anticipation thrummed through her. It had taken hours to fine-tune the route with the others, shaving down time where they could, locking in secondary exit points in case things got real interesting.

But now? Now it was time to fly.

Choli grinned, throwing a glance back at the others. "Well," she said, turning to the rest, "Time to test these out."

Without further ado, they were off.
