Friends of Red Jenny

In Umbris Potestas Est
The dust cloud caught Circe unawares, and though her hand was wrapped, none of the dust making it into the wound, she stepped back, trying hard to not fall over. With her free hand, she snapped a picture of the offending droid, then turned away. "That schutta... I'm going to report him to the local authorities when I get a chance." She growled. "But first, a bath. And a scrub down. And maybe a haircut if this poodoo in my hair won't come out..." She growled, soon to be prepared to visit her future companions.

Maybe she should keep some of this stuff, replicate it, and use it as a gag joke the next time she saw the droid who did this.

Well since HK was covered in armor head-to-toe, including his faceplate hidden behind a helmet, that would be what her image would show, a man turning away in full armor covered in grey dusty substance.

Going back to action!

HK watched one of the speederbikes, the one carrying [member="Karen Roberts"]' lustrous blue mane without which this chase would not happen, seriously if she would dyed her hair or put on a helmet HK would have no way of tracking her right now, pull into a landing pad of an apartment complex. His speeder-car stopped in shadows of a building a bit to the side, his dull-red photoreceptors turned in the direction of the pair from a distance, using his electronic eyes much like computerized scopes to get a better look from far out.

The droid contacted [member="Pravis Sharman"], his partner-in-crime for this,
"Greenspirit Super Apartments, that is the complex they have stopped in, can you get a visualization on one or both of them?"
HK wanted to confirm the location with Pravis to make sure the sniper was conducting over-watch for the right building, the droid brought his car around, to the other side of the complex, parking it among other speeder-craft he would got out, taking his spear with him, and with a push of a button, letting the shaft segments collapse on each other, turning back into its shorter hilt variant he could holster on his belt.

"And I have allowed them head-start because I trust them, I know that they will not go over the board, they will not harm civilians, and I know the prestige and skills that come with their presence,"
The droid begun to explain as he promised,
"The Guild they are hunting is a small problem in the Grand Scheme of Things, if they come here what they say they do for, then we can easily swoop in on the remnants of the Guild, snuffing out this issue before it became too grand. However, should they lie and there is something greater still that led them to take interest in Corellia, then they will lead us to it, and we can investigate further."
HK paused slightly, a few kids passed by, busy in their games,
"Furthermore, you need to learn that the Jedi have uncanny ability to bring out trouble, these two are friends of mine, but should something worse still than the Guild come out of the Shadows to pick up a fight with them, or use this as an occasion to strike, we will be right here to spring the trap, and these Jedi will be the bait. Sometimes it is fine to let one target get a head-start, if it will mean possibility of bringing a bigger one yet. Let me know once you get a visual confirmation on them and apartment complex, over."

And with that, HK side-stepped into an alley nearby, putting his hood back over his head, letting the cowl hide his mask, initiating his sound dampeners, and wrapping the cloak about his body securely, the droid engaged its chameleon properties, disappearing from sight silently, beginning his search of exactly which apartment Karen has chosen to visit.

The Kaleesh's menacing yellow eye gazed through the rifles scope, as it surprised him that he had not managed to find the bright blue hair before now. Suddenly, he chuckled softly to himself, as he spoke to [member=HK-36]. " Confirmation confirmed for the location of [member=Karen Roberts]. Heh, if I get to use my gun, this will be a good day. " Pravis quietly said into the Protectorate feed, hoping the robot noticed the sarcasm at his last comment.

Despite the common depiction throughout the galaxy, war isn't a adventurous battle against some Sith, it's something that takes a toll on everybody. Pravis knew this all too well, having been apart of 3 wars in his lifetime, and most likely against the One Sith in the future. Yet, he quickly shrugged these feelings as he continued his watch. " Hmm, bait. Smart, that's a karkin' good idea. "

The apartment's door opened only a crack, revealing a short female inside with catlike eyes. Her voice was soft and nervously quick,

"Hello?"

Karen leaned in and smiled cautiously.

"Hi. I'm Karen. From the Porcupine? Is Terra around?"

"No. She doesn't live here anymore. I'm sorry."

Karen rushed before the door could close,

"...I have some mail for her? Do you know where she went?"

The short eyes seemed hesitant but willing.

"No. She left some stuff too but hasn't come back for it. I don't think she knows it's here."

"Listen. I'm a friend and, heh, though I might not like it? I'm here to help. Can you tell me more?"

The door opened wider revealing a teenage Autumn Cather woman with strong human features. She looked very young.

"I know who you are. Your the girl with the blue car who got her the job in the first place."

"I... Yes. Yes I am. How did you know?"

"Terra didn't have many human friends before that. And now they don't come by anymore. She spoke of her Omega friends often."

"What do you mean? Do you have many human friends..?"

"Amani. My name is Amani."

"I'm sorry Amani. Do you think Terra is alright?"

The short girl hesitated. Then sighed.

"It's a long story. But I don't think I can help you. I think Terra has to do this on her own."

"Do what on her own, Amani?"

"I can't say."

The Cathar woman backed away from the door and struggled to remain social. She finally relented,

"I'm sorry. I think you have to go now."

"...It's the Guild isn't it. They're using her, aren't they Amani."

The woman sparked and her emotions turned wild. You can always tell with the feline races because of the way their ears perk. Karen stuck her foot in the door,

"I can save her Amani. I can bring your friend back."

"I don't think we should..."

"Just let me in and we can sort all this out. I found her a job before. I can sort this out. You just have to trust me Amani. I'm her friend."

The girl finally relented and the door cracked open more. Hesitating awhile before she spoke again.

"Okay."

It was all she could say as her eyes struggled to lift off the floor. She was afraid. Afraid of something. Afraid of someone.

"It's okay Amani. Let's just... Talk? Alright."

"Yeah. Okay."

Karen entered the apartment and the door shut behind her. Their conversation would be brief but important. Amani would describe Terra's new boyfriend and his political connections. About how he was a mover and a shaker; with little love for humans or authority. They would discuss his shadowy line of work and his invitations for Terra to join him. They would discuss his apartment and where he could be found in the middle of the day. But is was the last little bit was the scariest part of all.

Amani would struggle to make eye contact and raise her head from the couch as she said it,

"...And he said he knew you too, Karen Roberts. He said... everyone did."

Nearing one of the corners, HK was able to pick up on Karen's voice in his cloaked form,
"I found her a job before. I can sort this out. You just have to trust me Amani. I'm her friend."
He stopped, invisible shape looking around the corner just enough to catch a glimpse of Karen in front of some door, the droid decided to stay in the alley, listening in on the conversation.
"It's okay Amani. Let's just... Talk? Alright."

HK heard the door shot as he moved out of his corner enough to check the number on the apartment, cross-referencing it with the Protectorate databases, he had to use them at one point, but he had a pretty good idea who Karen was looking for here, the droid knew Terra as well, after all.
"I found the number of apartment, sending it to you. It used to belong to a Cathar mechanic working with the Pyre, I met her when I first joined the Pyre as a Private and Karen was with us as well, her name is Terra."
The droid sent the info to Preliat via his build-in communications, with no need to speak out loud to reveal his position,
"If she has went missing then it is our goal to find her as well, so do not get trigger happy just yet. You may not get much job today, but when you will,"
HK paused for that dramatic punctuation which was so very needed when you could only speak at one tone with no facial expressions,
"You will be saving our asses."

And with his info gathered, HK stepped back around the corner into a nearby alley, waiting for Karen to finish her talk and step out of the apartment.

Karen balked at the last words spoken and rose to her feet. Amani seemed more bashful than usual in her catching reply,

"I'm sorry... I didn't mean it that way. It was just strange. That's all."

"Strange indeed Amani? But what did you mean?"

"I think it had something to do with the Porcupine. Salvar and the rest of them knew how often Omega personnel visited that place. Terra worked there too. But I don't know?"

"I see. Well. ...Thank you for your time Amani. I think I shall be off to visit Salvar's apartment. Terra's missing boyfriend."

"Oh. Here. ...It's Terra's backpack. I filled it will the stuff she left behind. ...It's... Mostly bathroom stuff. Ya know."

Karen took the large duffel and nodded. It was an opportunity for more clues anyway.

"Thank you. And if Terra does come back? Have her message me yeah?"

"Okay."

Karen showed herself to the door. Amani stood up and followed slowly behind her.

"Stay safe Amani. This should all be figured out very soon, okay."

"I'm not afraid. At least now we'll know Terra is alright."

"Yes. Soon."

The blue-haired Jedi stepped back out into the walkway. Hefting the bag to her shoulders and nodding. Her bike was still floating nearby and it was time to go. Karen sent a mental nudge to Grant that the coast was clear.

Next stop, Salvar's apartment down in the Narrows. That was not a pleasant part of town.
