From the Ice Inside Your Soul (Kaida)

And now Coryth was patiently standing there outside, waiting for Kaida as a large group of Angelii seemed to flood out of the barracks. All were impressively dressed, in fantastic uniforms. The redhead could only hope this wasn't about her. Otherwise, it might be a little awkward. She shook her head, and sighed. It was going to be an interesting day. And one that clearly started with some kind of formal-ness and awkwardness that she'd yet to experience. Coryth didn't like being in the spotlight whatsoever. Not her style. But alas, someone had to troll her from time to time.

"I am mean. That's why I'm in charge," Kaida spoke bluntly. Well, at least she was honest about being a queen! Soon she'd showered and dressed. In her opinion, the dress uniform was needlessly ostentatious and the cloak looked a bit silly, but tradition was tradition.

Outside the unit of kitted out, armoured Angelii had assembled on the parade grounds in front of the barracks because of lil Coryth. Each wore dress uniform and carried a sarix along with a bolt pistol. "Company, attention," a Host Leader bellowed. The ranks of amazonian elves snapped into formal poses like machines and stood straight awaiting further orders. Now they were facing both Coryth and their commanding officer. "Company, left face." At this point Kaida emerged from the barracks. One wondered what Coryth thought about this display. "Lady Seraph, Red Company, First Legion reports as ordered."

"Thank you. Jedi Mistress Coryth Elaris, greetings. Red Company welcomes you to our base. It's an honour." She saluted the tiny redhead with bonecracking efficiency. Everyone knew that Coryth secretly liked it when her girlfriend did that. Kaida was not trolling her at all.

"Ooooh, I just thought it was because you were good at the whole Ice Queen thing..." Elayne quipped before darting off, just in case Kaida wanted to punish her for the comment. Just because this writer wants to troll her a little more. Anyway, she soon was on the parade grounds with the rest of her sisters. Something Elayne suspected had more to do with Kaida trolling and maybe showing off a little bit, to Coryth.

Coryth had been waiting and watching as the women fell into formation. She only blinked as they turned to face her, and the commanding officer. It wasn't what she expected. Though, maybe she should have, given it was Kaida.

Coryth maintained her composure, and somehow managed not to facepalm. Though one might have noticed the slight pink hue on her cheeks. She smiled softly, bowing her head slightly, "Thank you, Seraph Taldir. It's a pleasure to be here." The salute ... while she did enjoy it. There was a part of it she found slightly uncomfortable, especially with so many eyes on her. "You really didn't have to go to all this trouble for me."

Elayne was doing a good job giving Kaida another excuse to punish. Not that the frost elf needed one. She actually liked the incorrigible redhead more than she let on. Of course she'd never say that!

As for trolling, that wasn't Kaida's motivation. Not at all. She was simply following proper social protocol. Yep. "Your modesty does your credit, but it was no bother. Forms must be obeyed," Kaida said formally. Her blue cloak fluttered a bit in the wind. She still thought it looked silly.

Her expression was serious as she looked upon the ranks of Angelii. "Mistress Elaris is to be treated respectfully and given every courtesy during her stay. Anyone who doesn't abide by this rule will face severe, public punishment."

Coryth sighed internally. She soooo could have done without this display. After all, she didn't really consider herself that important or special these days. Just a wayward rogue Jedi, with an occasional redhead rage problem. "Of course." She managed to say, seeming a bit flustered.

A single eyebrow lifted as Kaida spoke to the Angelii. This is totally not awkward. Not awkward at all... She thought to herself. "I was hoping I could get a tour of the facilities, if you don't mind. And I'm sure your Angelii have work and tasks to get back to. I wouldn't want to be a bother."

Galina couldn't have felt more out of place. And now things made a tiny bit more sense. Coryth was here. She vaguely remember Siobhan mention something about the two dating, and Coryth had been the one who had foreseen the destruction of Kaeshana.

What's with the formality? If you two are girlfriends. That part she didn't quite get. Still she stood with the others and waited to see what was going to happen from here. Maybe she could pop by and say hello to Coryth later. After all, she was a friendly familiar face and she so needed that after the kind of day she had yesterday.

It seemed for now, Elayne was behaving. Though, that didn't mean she would forever. After all Coryth was here, and that was another one of her favorite people to troll. Especially when trolling her, trolled Kaida. It was a two for one deal, and who could resist that!

Coryth's modesty was commendable and set her apart from many Jedi, but she clearly needed to be educated about how important she was to some people. One wondered how she would react if an Angelii fangirled over her!

Anyhow, the girls seemed to be behaving. The Seraph gave the lovely redhead, whom she was dating in a not particularly secret relationship, a curt nod. "It would be my pleasure to give you a tour, Mistress Jedi," she said professionally. "Host Leader Askari, you'll take over in my absence, Company, dismissed. Breakfast will be served at the standard time," There were many things she wanted to do to Coryth's lovely body, but unfortunately they were still in public!

Truth be told, Coryth was only interested in seeing one single room on base. Kaida's room. But she couldn't exactly say that right now. So, she went with the much simpler idea of requesting a tour. And well, it was easy enough now to get her girlfriend alone. After all, she's missed her company and wanted a little time with her. "Excellent." Coryth said happily. "Please, lead the way Seraph."

Once away from the others, there was one thing she did want to ask about. "How is Galina doing? Figured I'd check on her while I was here as well."

And so the two lovebirds were finally alone. "Girl's been pampered, so she had trouble keeping up, but she did well against droids when pushed. Not sure whether you heard, but we came across a mass grave. Mutilated bodies dumped into a ditch by the Xioquo. Hundreds. It mucked her up a lot, but we talked. So I understand why she's here now. Girl's got heart."

Wow, Kaida was actually saying sort of positive things. Having said her piece she took Coryth's small hand, covering it with her larger and slightly colder one. "I'm glad you're here. I missed you," she suddenly exclaimed spontaneously.

Coryth nodded, "Yeah, she's Siobhan's kid. I wouldn't expect anything less than pampered." A sigh followed and the redhead folded her hands behind her back. "I hadn't heard. I would assume it reminded her of something back on Sigma in a bad way." A tiny smile formed, "Yeah, she does. She seems like a good kid. Just one that's been through hell and back, at far too young an age."

She gently squeezed Kaida's hand in return, "I missed you too. I know you have your duty and I have mine, but stars know I miss being with you."

"I am sorry for being away so often," Kaida said a bit awkwardly. It seemed rather weird to her that she felt that way. She had her duty and being an Angelii was her life, yet she felt bad about Coryth getting to spend so little time with her. She flushed ever so slightly.

"We should see each other more often." The Seraph was a bit at a loss of what else to say, then uncharacteristically decided to throw caution and protocol to the wind, bend down and kiss the smaller redhead on the lips. "Wanna go to my room?"

"It's alright, darling. I understand that you have to be. It's not really a complaint. Just a fact, that I miss you." She said with a sweet smile, squeezing Kaida's hand a little tighter as they walked around the base.

"We should. I mean, surely the Angelii wouldn't mind having another healer and surgeon around. So, I'm sure I could find more time and reasons to stop by. Or at the least, it makes a good cover for why I'm really here." The redhead said as she seemed to perk up a bit more. Then the kiss! Coryth flushed red instantly, not used to this whole public display of affection thing. It only took her half a heartbeat to return the kiss with as much passion as she could muster. "Yes, after all it was the only room I really wanted to see on base." She said with a wink and the brightest of smiles.

"That sounds like a good cover to me." Kaida was past the point of pondering whether this might be unprofessional. She kissed the redhead deeply, pouring in a passion she so rarely showed, then withdrew. Taking Coryth by the hand, she led her to the barracks that, among other things, contained her room.

"Expect Eileithya to try and convert you to Ashira...and some Angelii might request the honour of pleasuring you. You're a bit of a celebrity," she spoke on the way. This was totally a normal conversation. "If you take them up on their offers, I don't mind. Everyone knows I'll rip their lungs out them if they don't treat you respectfully." Kaida's room was nothing special. Indeed, it was as spartan as the lodgings of a common Angelii. However, she didn't have to share it!

"Well as long as it sounds good to you, then that's what we'll run with." Coryth said cheerfully as they headed towards the Eldorai's room.

The redhead then shook her head, "She can try and convert me but I can promise she won't get anywhere. Religion doesn't interest me all that much." She said with a shrug. Then it seemed to register the rest of what Kaida had said. "Request? Pleasuring? Me? Celebrity? Wait, how am I a celebrity? No, no I'll get back to that thought line later... Back to that pleasuring thing ..." She seemed a bit stunned and uncertain of how to respond to that. So she took a moment to gather her thoughts. "It's not the kind of offer I'd partake in. I'm just ... I don't know... It was hard enough to open up to anyone in that manner. It's not something I can just do on a whim. I have to at least know the person first. Or alcohol and knowing the person a little works. Well, that worked with you. I'm not sure that would have with anyone else."

Coryth came into the room, and truthfully for being spartan it looked about like how the redhead's apartment looked. "But celebrity?" She asked again as she took a seat on Kaida's bed. Her brain couldn't quite work that one out, yet.

It did not occur to Seraph that 'BTW, love, some of my minions may want to shag you since you're awesome, I'm ok with that' might not be te most normal conversaiont!

Coryth's reaction was both adorable and a bit confusing to her. "You really don't see it? No offence, love, but you're a bit too modest sometimes. You kicked arse on Gehenna, saved a ton of people, blew up an evil artefact and, oh, got a vision that led us to our new homeworld. So yeah, you kind of are."

She shrugged. "Anyhow, if you're not comfortable playing around with the girls, that's understandable. Means more you for me! Just express yourself clearly to anyone who makes a pass at you and they'll back off. They're a disciplined bunch. Well, disciplined except Elayne," she amended.

"Okay, when you put it that way, I suppose I can understand a bit of it... I think."

"Maybe."

"Possibly."

"Yeah...."

"So don't like the celebrity thing. I don't like the spotlight being on me, or anything really. To me, all of that was just doing my duty, my job and isn't something that should be highly thought of. At least, I don't look at it that way, or think about it in those terms. So, it's a bit difficult to wrap my mind about being a celebrity."

Coryth nodded, laying her hand on Kaida's knee affectionately. "Totally more for you. I guess you are right, they are disciplined. Elayne is just a special case of odd isn't she? Not sure I quite get the girl. I mean, shouldn't she be maturing out, and settling a bit by now?" Coryth did wonder about that girl sometimes.

"I don't like the spotlight either and I'm happy I don't get it much. I do my duty, that's it. But folks want idols, and you just so happen to be a little folk heroine." Kaida was prideful, but a lot more down-to-earth than say Siobhan, who loved being the centre of attention.

She shook her head when Coryth talked more about everyone's favourite redheaded Angelii. "Believe it or not, Elayne's a couple decades older than me." Yep, the Talon was actually the older one!

"She's exasperating and lacks maturity, but good at her job and does well with the recruits. If she showed more decorum she wouldn't be stuck at Talon, though her affinity for the Kar'zun contributed to that, too."

Kaida's views on the rock people were neutral. She didn't feel any particular guilt about how the Eldorai had maltreated them, but didn't agree with keeping them down either, hence why them being emancipated had pleased her. "Anyhow, there's only one redhead I wanna focus on now," and with that she gave Coryth a kiss.

Coryth shook her head. "Idol?" It was still incredibly hard to wrap her mind around. "No one's ever called me a heroine before. It's so strange. Surreal, if you ask me." Maybe one day she'd adjust and figure it out just how special and important she really was. Not to mention how many lives she helped to save and change simply by having the vision of Tygara and relaying the message to the Queen. One day, it might sink in the gravity of what she'd done to help them.

Coryth seemed a bit shocked. "Wow, I didn't know. One would have thought she'd certainly have settled down by now."

She nodded, "Yeah, she does seem to be good at what she does. Just utterly shameless. One wonders where she gets it. Have you met her twin? Good grief those two couldn't be more different. Especially when they happen to be identical twins."

Coryth returned the kiss with as much passion as she could muster, before reaching up to start helping Kaida from her dress armor. Though, knowing Coryth's luck with armor, a strap would get jammed and Kaida would end up stuck in it, like it or not! Armor was so not something she was good at. Not to mention she liked having her bare little feet on the ground. Reasons she wasn't wearing shoes even at this moment.

Sometimes Elayne made Kaida feel...old. Had she ever been that wild? Well, not really. Except briefly as a teenager. She liked to keep her life neatly compartmentalised in different boxes. Duty here, pleasure there. Anything else seemed messy and immature to her.

It was no surprise that she didn't get on with a certain noblewoman. Anyhow, she had something far more interesting to focus on. Namely a beautiful short stack of fire. Who in Kaida's undoubtedly biased opinion was the most gourgeous woman on the base. Kaida continued kissing her heatedly with her slightly chilly lips, while trying to get out of her armour.

Alas, there were complications! "Err, dear, I'm kind of stuck." Leave it to some annoying strap to get in the way. Silly dress armour. Why couldn't the Angelii move with the times and wear proper uniforms?
