Fun and Games (Serpena)

The Miraluka smiled a bit when his fellow pilot said she was between jobs. Maybe she'd want to join up, like he did. Either way, he'd have to bring it up at some point. Kalic's interest then seemed to peak when Kelsie ask about Miralukas' Force sensitivity. She asked if he was any good at using it, and smiled a bit. "I'm definitely no Jedi, but I'm pretty good. Force Sight like all Miraluka, but I've been training to block out Force energy so that I don't go blind from it. Along with that, the Imperial Knight who taught be that also taught me Telepathy." Notably, he didn't move his mouth with the last part, just to demonstrate. He then looked at Kelsie before speaking again. "I can tell you're strong in the Force. Not something you can really hide from a Miraluka."

Kelsie nodded as she listened to him speak, visibly flinching when she heard him without him moving his lips. She hadn't spent time around another Force sensitive in a while, and she mentally reminded herself to spend some time meditating and rebuilding her mental defenses. "Useful skills... I can't say I know much about Force sight, maybe you could teach me a thing or two," she said with a little smile.

She'd guessed that he'd noticed her apparent power in the Force, and he was right -- she had a level of raw power a step above most others. Not that she could truly tap into that at the current moment, but perhaps...

Considering his little comment for a moment, she flashed a smile. "Really now? You sure about that?" And two moments later, she entirely disappeared from his sight. In reality she was still sitting there, but using Force Stealth at her power level made her practically invisible to the Miralukan, and she eagerly awaited his reaction.

Kalic smiled back, shaking off a chuckle from her surprise, when Kelsie suggested he could teach her something about Force Sight. He nodded, the calmly answered "May be difficult since it's something I was born with, but I could definitely try." He was then given a surprise of his own.

Kelsie flashed a smile before vanishing from his sight. The Miraluka looked completely shocked, extending his hand to where she was to be sure someone wasn't tricking him with an illusion before.

"You're still there, right?"

[member="Kelsie Sylvan"]

"Still here." Kelsie laughed.

She focused for a few moments, and her presence flickered back into existence. This time, though, it was severely dulled, her presence similar to that of some other being, one that wasn't Force sensitive. She smiled to him, but really she was a little shocked at how much effort that has taken. She felt off, she didn't have it anymore. She'd never not had it before.

"Helps me, too, when I'm flying. Friend of mine could calculate hyperspace routes, real impressive."

Kalic chuckled a bit as he heard Kelsie, watching as she reappeared in his sight. He noticed that she still masked her Force abilities. She probably didn't want anyone else to notice. He could tell something was up with her, but she didn't say anything. She then noted that it helped her with flying, and knew someone who could calculate hyperspace jumps. The Miraluka gave her a questioning look before answering.

"Someone who can calculate hyperspace jumps? Are they a free droid?"

[member="Kelsie Sylvan"]

"Oh no, he was... just powerful. Intelligent, too. Most powerful Force user I've ever met, though I can't say I've met too many." Kelsie shrugs, beginning to pick at her nails as she looked at them on the table. Her mind fled elsewhere as she thought of her mentor. He was... many things. Many things to her, too. She stopped and looked off at the wall of the cantina, letting out a little sigh. "I'm not really too much of a droid fan -- no offense," she said, glancing at Kalic's droid.

Jee let out a few annoyed whistles before Kalic answered. "Hey cool it. Droids ain't for everyone, Jee." Kalic chuckled a bit before looking back at Kelsie. "Gotta say, sounds like an interesting fella to say the least. Never even heard of anyone who could calculate hyperspace jumps."

"Yeah, he was... pretty crazy." She shrugged, pausing for a moment as her eyes searched the room again, before she began to get to her feet. "Be right back," she said, heading over to the bar.

It was around then that she realized yellow wasn't the most stealthy of colours. She drew stares, not just because of the colour of her jacket of course, but it made her a little sick. She wasn't on the job. The gaze of the various patrons caused her to move a little faster, quickly ordering a bottle of Corellian Whiskey and a glass to pour it in. As soon as she got it, she moved back over to her seat beside Kalic. She realized the person least likely to be fazed by her looks -- or stare -- was the blind man. Perhaps it was for the best. Perhaps he'd see her in a different way.

She poured herself a glass, then shifted to get comfortable in her seat. "So, what's the pay like with the Fels? I've been thinking about getting a real job."

“Take your time,” Kalic responded as he sipped on his drink some more. He waited patiently, then looked as Kelsie came back. He smiled as she asked what kinda pay the Fels offered. He thought for a bit, looking around.

“I’d say pretty good pay. Plus Osseriton’s beautiful.”

She took a sip of her whiskey, listening to Kalic explain. At the mention of Osseriton she frowned. "Sorry, I don't really know that place," she said. Probably a small bit of information she'd forgotten... had the data chip mentioned that? She didn't know, and felt like she should. Of course, pay's a big part of deciding on a job, but...

Kalic smiled a bit, typing on his datapad again before showing Kelsie.

"Here are some images of it."

(Sorry. It's canon, but no real info.)

The young woman took a look at some of the pictures. Reminded her of Naboo. She didn't really like Naboo. But perhaps Osseriton was a little better.

"It's very picturesque," Kelsie said, giving a small smile to Kalic. "Do you live there?"

[member="Kalic Daws"]

"Ooh. I bet you've got a big palace or something. Personal hangar? Mm, no, you're a landing pad kind of guy, aren't you," she said playfully. Settling down someplace so urban but beautiful? No. There were only the extremes, it had to be a planet of nature or of grimy, sickening urban life. The excitement was always one or the other... or space, of course.

Kalic chuckled a bit at Kelsie's comment before taking a sip of his drink.

"Well, my place is just outside the city area, but did manage to find one with an old fashion dirt pad."

[member="Kelsie Sylvan"]

"That sounds really nice. Have you had to work for it?" It made her think about her own dream home. Then again... home is where the heart is. She carried around her heart, anyways, so it didn't matter too much. And her freighter was starting to grow on her.
