She shifted slightly and Kurt blinked. "How else would you get a hold of me?"

There wasn't exactly any other way to contact him. When Jamie had her own ship it was unlikely that they would run into each other again, at least by coincidence. Sif operated their agents independently, never recalling them to the central hub unless there was a specific job to get done. It suited Kurt just fine that way, he preferred not to mingle with his coworkers. Independence was rather important to him, it was why he loved having The Messa.

"You can call any time." He tapped the bulkhead. "Communicator works even during hyperspace."

That was something he very likely should have told her earlier.

She shook her head, blonde hair bouncing side to side as she did.

"No, I meant..." pausing her thought mid speech, lips pressed together, "Nevermind."

Sometimes what she was thinking in her own mind was not what was being spoken of. Better to simply leave it alone than address it.

"So what exactly will I have to do when we get there?" Asking with the intent to change the subject, but also with genuine concern as to what would be expected of her when they finally did arrive on Byblos.

He looked down at Jamie, slightly confused but deciding that he wouldn't press the issue. There wasn't really a point in trying to dig into her, mostly because he figured whatever was bothering her was soemthing that she either didn't want to talk about or something that shouldn't be talked about. Kurt wasn't one to pry in most situations, it was why he got along with so many people.

"Sif operates on mostly independent contractors, so all you have to do is go in, sign the piece of paper and you're employed by them. The Paper is a contract. In simple terms, you get a ship, you promise to pay off said ship, and by owning that ship you get access to Sif's job board which is ever expanding and ever increasing. You do those jobs, get paid, pay off whatever amount of the ship you think is good and use the rest to live your life." Considering how well some of the jobs paid and how cheap Vanir Technologies ships were it didn't take at all long to pay off one of the vessels.

The Messa was nearly paid off in full after only four months of work.

"Vanir supplies the ships of course." Kurt said with a smile. "They have about half a dozen warehouses on Byblos and you'll get to choose from those."

That had been a fun day for Kurt, picking his ship.

"I seeeeee." Her voice trailing off as she thought about the concept. It seemed almost too simple. "Couldn't anyone intent on just stealing a ship go in, sign a paper with a fake name and then just steal their ships? That doesn't seem like a very profitable venture." Sure, she knew about bounty hunters and all that, but most of the time criminals seemed to just disappear once they had what they needed. And space was so karking huge she thought, how would it even be possible to track down a single ship once it was stolen?

Not that she had planned on stealing, it wasn't in her to do something like that. She'd been raised with high standards and morals, even if they had slipped a bit today with her and Kurt's little (multiple) escapades. "That sounds fun though, picking one out. Being able to call it home, or something resembling it. Like what you've done here. I guess it does have a bit of charm now that I think about it."

He scoffed, smiling down at her as his hand returned to settle on her stomach once again. "Someone has to vouch for you."

In Jamie's case it would be Kurt doing the vouching. If she took the ship and ran? He would be on the hook for it's cost. That was of course a way to guarantee that the people Sif hired were not only trustworthy, but connected to people that already worked for them. Sometimes it backfired of course, with an old employee simply taking a vessel alongside their new employee, but more often then not it lead to experienced and capable pilots working for Sif Shipping, something that was desperately rare in the galaxy.

"It is fun." Kurt admitted. "I got The Messa after my first ship was destroyed on Contruum."

He shook slightly at that thought. "Vanir has a huge assortment of ships to pick from, even a few military type vessels."

"Military vessels?" A peculiar idea for a courier company. "Why would they need military vessels to deliver necklaces to girls on Naboo?" Was the company involved in some kind of more dubious work? Delivering weapons grade material or armaments to populations abroad under the guise of something else? Perhaps they had run-ins with pirates and bandits more often in different areas of space that warranted heightened security measures. Still, for a delivery company, military grade ships seemed a bit overkill.

"Do you deliver things you shouldn't be delivering?" She poked his stomach with the tip of her toe, a bit of an accusatory tone to her voice. "Hmmm?"

"No." Kurt said as his hands slowly began to creep up Jamie's sides, his fingers taking positions on her hips as he began to lean over her. "But, sometimes they do take Cargo that's a tad more dangerous to carry."

Sif wasn't a smuggling operation, it was all legal. "Usually it happens when governments or other corporations hire us. The jobs pay extremely well, but they're more dangerous. We generally don't get to know what the cargo is, just a small box or a briefcase. Usually it's a simply datadrive or something else. It helps with security. If they send something through their own military it could raise a flag for their enemies, like if the Republic used SIS the One Sith might find out, but use a no name Courier?"

Kurt shrugged as he slowly lifted her shirt, revealing her navel.

"Nobody cares." His lips pressed against her bare skin. "It's legal, but it's dangerous."

That was one thing Kurt wanted her to stay away from. Those jobs usually saw Couriers killed, even with how secure Sif was about who got what job. The Sith, and other agents for that matter, had a way of finding out.

"Ohhhh! Dangerous!" Her tone fluctuating and brows raising to express a disbelief in the severity of it. Jamie's eyes watched as Kurt's fingers crept up along the sides of her body.

If the more dangerous jobs paid far better than the ordinary runs it only made sense in her mind to do those quickly to pay off the debt on the ship and then pocket the rest of the credits on safer runs. Maybe that was how Kurt had paid off his so quickly she thought. While she was lost in thought it seemed he had taken a few liberties in the meantime, lifting up her shirt and caressing her stomach with his lips. Jamie bit her lower lip, her right hand running lightly through his hair, pulling lightly.

"I like dangerous." She said finally, adding sweetly "After all, I like you. I feel like that's dangerous in its' own way."

His nose gently nuzzled against her stomach, his lips kissing just a tad lower. Had Jamie been able to read body-language as well as a Lorrdian she would have been able to tell Kurt's displeasure at how lightly she took his words. Almost immediately after she spoke his muscles tensed, the features of his face hardening slightly, and his fingers seizing to press ever so gently against the side of her hips. He didn't like the thought of her taking those kinds of missions, not one bit.

"True, but I won't try to kill you." His lips pressed again, as if accenting his point.

The last one of those missions he had taken had ended with him hopped up on so much spice and stim that he couldn't even remember what had happened.

It wasn't a pleasant memory, in fact, it wasn't a memory at all. Three days were a complete blank to him, the delivery, the job itself, and what had happened. All that he knew was what Kaile had told him, that he had shown back up at The Messa covered in bruises, cuts, and even several lightsaber burns. He had assumed that someone had attacked him, and in desperation he had turned to spice and stims to give him an extra edge in survival, Nar Shaddaa was cruel that way.

The idea that Jamie would have to do the same? It made his skin crawl.

Jamie released her hold of his hair, her hand slipping beneath his chin to lift his head up to meet her eyes. "Well, I'm not so sure about that. Perhaps not in so many words...But you do exhaust me." She flashed a brilliantly wide smile, playful tone enhancing her words. He knew she wanted to become a Jedi, or something resembling one. If he thought the worst trouble she'd find herself in was courier work he was even less familiar with the galaxy than she. They fought in wars to protect people, they gave their lives for others. Whether or not that came to be for her she couldn't tell. She'd hoped not, but she was given a gift and would be damned to see it wasted passively.

She pulled him up on top of her, close enough to kiss him herself. Kurt was teasing her with the light, devious, play kissing on her stomach. Wrapping her arms tightly around his neck she pressed her own lips passionately against his, pulling at his lower lip with her teeth with the slightest bit of force. How she didn't want that moment to end. She could have wished upon all of the stars to maintain that perfect moment for as long as possible.

Her voice whispered to his between breaks of their lips. "I'll be careful, promise."

He crawled atop her, Jamie's arms looping around the back of his neck to hold him close. Kurt leaned down and kisses her, pressing against her and lingering for a moment more until he pulled back to speak.

"You better be." The Courier said with a smile. "I can't always be around to bail you out."

The words were said with a wink, a knowing that such would not always be the case. Kurt had met Jedi before, briefly, but he knew what they were capable of, knew what they could do when fully trained. There was no illusion in him that he would have to rescue Jamie when she was trained, no illusion that he was some macho man that could and would always be better than her. Just the opposite, The Pilot knew that eventually Jamie would be stronger, faster, perhaps even smarter.

That didn't phase him not even for a second. He leaned down and kisses her again.

"But you're only a call away, remember what you said?" Her hands released from their binding around his neck, dropping down towards his chest, lightly pawing at his shirt. "I'll be fine, though I can't say whether or not the ship they give me will survive my abuse."

Her hands slipped beneath his shirt, fingers tracing along the contours of his chest, exploring upwards with soft fingertips, before dragging her nails lightly back down. Whether he could tell or not, she enjoyed herself around him, the odd chemistry they shared, to look up and see him leaning over her, kissing her, looking at her with those eyes. It made her feel special in a way she hadn't before. It was exciting and wonderful.

Jamie looked up from beneath him, a coy look on her face. "Just remember, you convinced me to do this."

He smirked. "Did I?"

His head bent down, and slowly he began to kiss the side of her neck.

"Well..." He trailed off slightly and began to kiss his way to her ear, gently kissing directly below it before whispering. "I'm sure it's not the worst thing I can convince you to do."

A smirk pulled at his lips, his face burying in her neck as hit teeth sank gingerly into her skin and his hands slipped behind the small of her back. His arm would slowly pull her up and against him, his body pressing against her in an odd mimicry of just a few hours ago.

He liked this, he liked the flirting, he liked how smart she was and how she was witty enough to keep up with him.

"Mhm." She nodded slowly, maintaining eye contact. "You did."

Jamie turned her head outwards, feeling his lips and teeth in her neck. She gasped quietly, her body quivering in response to the pressure against her throat and the force against her body. Her eyes shut, hands digging fingernails into his chest with much more force than moments ago. A simple reflexive action to his own actions.

In between short gasps she managed to force out a few more words. "Oh? And what's the worst thing you can convince me to do?"

Her legs lifted, wrapping around his back just below the waist, pulling him closer to her.

Kurt made a noise against her neck as though he were placed deep into thought, the question requiring time for him to think. His hands meanwhile slowly swept over her skin, pulling up her shirt further and gently massaging up and down her spine as he pulled her to him. His lips would press against her neck, teeth gently grazing against her skin before a short sharper bite would follow. His hands would eventually come to settle at her hips, sliding all the way down until he pinned them there, and her to the touch.

"I suppose." The rough scratch of his beard pulled against her cheek as he drew back to look her in the eye. "That depends entirely..."

A grin passed over his face, his lips coming down to press against her own. "On how much I've enthralled you."

His thumbs would very gently slip into the hem of her pants, fingers gently caressing her skin.

The enticing though slightly painful bite on her neck caused Jamie to whimper, her fingers releasing their attempt to dig into his back in exchange for a tight grip of her hands on his back. Her hips tried to wiggle a bit as he took hold of them, though he left her little ability to move or escape from his grasp. She nodded at his every word, enthusiastic and eager, returning his kiss with an equal amount of spirit. She allowed her legs to drop back down to either side of his, giving in to him pinning her down.

"Perhaps a bit..." She felt his thumbs slip down into her pants ever so slightly, "enthralled..."

Her shoulders curved back, her back arching just a bit to press the front of her body closer to him. Another soft gasp, some kind of unformed word escaped her lips, though she made no effort to correct her thought.

He pressed his lips against her neck, his fingers gently digging into her skin. "Only a bit?"

Kurt sounded rather disappointed.

"I must be losing my touch." His words were only a mutter, buried within her lips. There was a smile on his face, a hint of mischief still playing through him. It made one wonder just exactly he was thinking, what he planned, though of course by now Jamie would know that Kurt hardly ever planned a thing, he simply did what his whims commanded him to. It was childish, but it had always worked, and it would continue to work even now. Perhaps some of him would rub off on Jamie, would allow her to work better, adapt more to the situations she would go through. "I could've sworn it was more than a bit."

His lips pushed against her own again, this time lingering.

"Maybe I just don't want you getting too confident in yourself. Have to keep you reeled in a little bit at least." Her tone would come off as overly sweet and reassuring, almost bordering on sarcastic.

She placed her hands on Kurt's biceps, not quite squeezing them, but firmly holding them as he kissed her and held her. Every motion of hers in synchronous reaction to his. Blue eyes stared up at him as he kissed her, speaking only when he pulled away again. "You're going to grow tired of me you know, if you keep this pace." Jamie's right hand made its' way to the side of Kurt's face, running through his beard to his thick hair, brushing it back and pulling on it.

"You know right well what you do to me. I don't know how you do it, but you do it."

He smiled. How did he do it? Reaction, provocation, simple experimentation. Unlike Jamie, Kurt had gotten his start in these matters rather young. When someone lived on a desert planet, surrounded by nothing but dirt, sand, canyons, and more sand there were really only a few things that you could do. It helped that Mos Eisley was only a stones throw away from his parents farm, and the fact that...well it was the greatest hive of villainy and scum in the galaxy.

Where better to learn?

"I'll never grow tired of seeing you squirm." He smirked at her, his fingers very gently drawing across her skin as his thumbs slowly slipped down.

His head jerked back as she pulled it, his teeth sinking into his lower lip with more than a bit of excitement. She had said her love life had been rather lack-luster before, that on Naboo she had been forbidden and barred by her parents. Was this part of her rebellion? Her way of finally lashing out and doing what she wanted? Or was Kurt really that lucky?

Her mouth gaped, some incoherent noise emanating from her vocal chords as his words came at roughly the same time his fingers traveled about freely along her skin. But the look on his face when she pulled on his hair enticed her, made her smirk a devilish smirk. Her eyes lit up with fresh inspiration. She liked that look he gave her. It sent a shiver down her spine, adding to her own excitement of his fingers wandering around her abdomen.

"What's that face for, Kurt?" She pulled a bit harder at his hair, a soft moan from her and a shifting of her hips, her body language giving off a very clear signal of her enjoyment at this mild turn of events. Jamie had found something he appeared to really like, and she intended to exploit that.

"I think I found one of your buttons."
