I hope you don't think I'm bringing this up because the candidate I voted for was unsuccessful. I'm not looking to stir the pot, that's the least of my intentions. Rather, I only wish to improve the process to increase its integrity and fairness to all the candidates, including the winners.
As awful as it would be to lose an election (any election and not just this one) because of a lack of integrity, it would be more awful to win one for that reason.
And yes, I firmly believe that not having an anonymous election degrades the integrity of the process. Agree or disagree, that's fine, but there have been actual studies on this kind of stuff that proves unconscious bias when you know who chooses what. And while I have no intention of making a mountain out of a molehill, this seems to be the time to bring up the issue so that the future FL and her future FA team may be able to take steps to rectify it in the future.
