Getting What You Need

130904_DC_Hudson.jpg

Silver Jedi Temple, Silver Campus, Voss
Over the past few days, Krayzen had seen encouraging developments on his plan to relocate refugees to his homeworld, Yanibar. Despite it being only at the early stages, a variety of factions had opened up on the project: one such faction, was the Silver Jedi, an ally of the Iron Empire, and a faction Krayzen trusted. Out of all the factions in the galaxy, Krayzen was comfortable with his former enemies.

And that was why he was here, on the ancient world of Voss. Before, it had been a world that he had wanted to conquer in order to rid the world of the Silver Jedi. Now, he was someone that was trying to reform himself: continuing on his endless journey towards redemption.

The Dark Knight had arrived here to get the Silver Jedi's help on the relocation of many refugees to the planet of Yanibar. While it was in Wild Space, an area not well known for economic development, as well as being connected to hyperlanes, it had rarely gotten any attacks in its history; furthermore, there were few people that knew about it, and the possibility of it being with its enemies is extremely unlikely.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The room he was in was one akin to those board room members of large corporations used. A large 3d hologram, as well as other materials for the meeting had been presented. Krayzen hoped he could convince the Silver Jedi to help, although he wondered if they would disagree with some of his ideas, and proposals.

Krayzen would be time alone to set up for his presentation, and then when he had declared he was ready, Arisa would enter almost immediately, having been patiently waiting in her office just down the hall. Treating this presentation as official business with a general officer and ally, she would dressed up for the occasion.

"General, it's lovely to see you again," she said as she came up to him, hand outstretched for a shake. "It's nice to have some Irons back in town."

While Arisa had personally seen to relations between the Iron Empire and Silver Order being repaired, Krayzen would be the first of the IE to show up in many months. She hoped this would mark the beginning of seeing more IE folks running around - she missed having Aster around, even if the young princess was about as busy as she was these days.

"Today, it's going to be me and
Valae with you for the presentation. She's a director within the Silver Service Corps, so I thought it was a good idea to have her with me today."

Valae's position within the SSC made her relevant to the topic of the presentation - refugee resettlement - but there was more to it. Quietly, she was grooming her friend, so that she would be ready to take on much greater responsibility once she had attained the rank of Master. Arisa had many ambitious plans for the Silver Jedi moving forward as they made their presence more widely known throughout the galaxy as a force for good, and she was going to need a lot of help with them.

"Once she arrives, then feel free to start."

Valae Kitra skidded around the corner, just outside the complex. She was worried that she was going to be late, and it would be a very poor showing to be tardy today. When the Grandmaster asks that you attend an important meeting with a General from the Iron Empire, you agree. And then you show up on time, and dressed appropriately. These were the thoughts that had flowed through her mind when Arisa had first asked for her presence. Unlike most days, today Valae looked ladylike and quite put-together.

As she made her way inside the building, she tugged at the hem of her dress. And though she had not walked a great distance, her cute shoes were already making blisters on the back of her heels. It was the price paid for looking presentable, she supposed. Her wavy hair had even been tamed into a simple plait.

Turning into the conference room, she found that the Grandmaster and the General were already present and waiting. She shuffled into the room, shoulders hunched just slightly. This was not her regular cup of tea, but she knew that she would have to get used to such meetings in her new role with the SSC.

“Sorry to keep y’all waiting,” She cleared her throat, and approached the table. “Good to see you both.”

Where [member="Arisa Yune"], and [member="Valae Kitra"] wore formal dressing, the Anzat, as always, simply wore his armor, albeit he didn't have his helmet on. Krayzen was familiar with Arisa, having seen her in the Iron Empire delegation. The young Anzat however did not know Valae that much, although her being part of the Silver Jedi was good enough for him.

"I certainly hope so. Despite it being a long trip, it is always good to be among friends, especially in this troubled times." Krayzen said. He knew the Silver Jedi had heard some troubles with the Resurgent Empire. Krayzen, having served with the Sith before, believed they would fight each other soon. It was now a matter of when, and how he could help the Silver Jedi prepare for that.

"I'm extremely thankful you allowed me this opportunity Ms. Yune. I also don't mind Ms. Kitra attending the meeting." he kindly responded.

Valae then showed up. The Anzat nodded at her in respect, before he cracked his knuckles, ready to begin the presentation.

"The proposal I have is a refugee relocation program to a planet in Wild Space known as Yanibar. I'm not sure if your records have anything about the planet, but an ancient light-sided organization known as the Zeison Sha existed there. Some of their remnants exist as well." he stated.

"What I am hoping is to be able to populate the planet with millions, even billions of refugees that we can. I don't need to explain the current situation we have, coming from the various wars that have taken place, one that is unprecented in galactic history. Some of the current things I'm hoping to accomplish is the establishment of bases, cities; most importantly, I was hoping to alter the temperature of th planet. It's not exactly easy living there." he replied, giving a brief synopsis of what was going on, as he waited for their responses.

Arisa took a pause before answering, the cyborg drawing upon the vast repositories within the Silver archives through her neural implant for anything related to Yanibar. A remote planet right at the edge of the galaxy in Wild Space noted for having a climate of nearly unbearable extremes. The original settlers that would become the Zeison Sha would only survive such harsh conditions because of their Force abilities. This planet wouldn't be able to support the numbers Krayzen was throwing out while it remained in its nearly inhospitable state.

"I wouldn't have an issue supporting this proposal," she started, clasping her hands. "But I believe that it's prudent to get a grip on the climate situation before any kind of mass settlement may occur. Fortunately, I can help you out with that. As you know, I work quite closely with Kiribian Systems Armory, and they possess terraforming tech that could be deployed for fairly rapid changes - within a matter of weeks or months. It revolves around the use of large scale force field generators to manipulate atmospheric conditions and solar intake."

"I can get you in contact with KSA for access to the technology, but I would like to confirm with you that all the native inhabitants, if any, are fine with these changes, and that you would make a promise to establish preserves for local fauna in their natural habitat."

As a company, KSA didn't care much about how their customers employed their terraforming tech outside of accidentally (or intentionally) causing Armageddon or mass extinction, but as a Jedi, she was much more conscientious about destroying things already in place. Even the most scorching deserts and frigid tundras could teem with life, and that was something to be respected.

Valae slid into an empty chair; the palms of her hands came to rest gently atop her knees. She returned the polite nod to the General, and sat quietly as cracked his knuckles. It seemed that he wanted to waste no time in getting started. Her head canted to the side slightly as she listened, the situation unfolding for her with each word.

She pulled her datapad out of her bag, and started to take some notes.

Yanibar was a world that she knew nothing about. However, some of the blanks were filled in as the General’s presentation progressed. A refugee relocation program would be quite an undertaking, but the hard work would be for such a good cause. Indeed it was a project that would be well suited for the Silver Service Corps. But of course, there would be much work to be done before they could even set food there.

Valae shifted in her seat to listen as the Grandmaster chimed in. She had heard about Arisa’s ties to the KSA, but admittedly, she didn’t know much about the company. However, if it was based on Kiribi, she had no doubt that they had the cutting edge technology needed for a task such as this. She sat up straighter, her eyes flickering between the General and the Grandmaster.

“For my own part, I’m very interested in helping. And no doubt, there will be many tasks that the Silver Service Corps can assist with once things planetside have been squared away. This might also be a good opportunity for healers of the Silver Circle as well, we’re prepared to assist in any way we can.”

[member="Krayzen Dratos"], [member="Arisa Yune"]

"I appreciate your help Grandmaster Yune." he stated. The Anzat had been on Kiribi, knowing the manufacturer during his time in the One Sith. It had produced tech for his former enemies, the Galactic Republic; that however was a different time, and now, they would help each other with the project Krayzen had in mind.

"We shall appreciate the Silver Circle's help on the matter. " he stated. He was aware that Princess Aster had decided to specialize in healing. The Anzat wasn't the best healer, as the dark side only provided a perverted version of the true force healing practiced by followers of the light.

He then decided to address the last question, the most important one that Suravi had asked.

"There aren't any mass settlements. Any of the mass settlements that used to exist were destroyed during the Gulag Plague. This is also applied to the Zeison Sha. I however haven't consulted the natives on the planet. It's not exactly easy finding them." he replied. His homeworld was difficult to live on, and difficult to survive. The only reason he had returned there was simply for a personal reason, nothing else.

"There is a possibility of the refugee project expanding to other planets as well. " he stated. It wasn't set in stone yet, but it was something that could possibly happen.

"I believe I also have Emperor Baelor's support with the project as well. I've also met with a representative of the Outer Rim, and I got her support as well. I believe you know her: her name is [member="Joza Perl"]." he quickly replied.

He then waited for their response, interested particularly in Yune's response to his reply about the natives.

[member="Arisa Yune"] / [member="Valae Kitra"]

Krayzen admitted that he hadn't consulted with the locals on his plan, which was an issue for her. The irony of possibly displacing groups of locals for refugees didn't escape her.

"I'd ask that you at least make the attempt to contact any remaining locals if before I can commit the Silver Order to providing any assistance. At the very least, they should be provided with their own designated reservation if there is no governing body for them in place."

He indicated that he had ideas about expanding operations to other planets, which actually sounded like a good idea. It would probably be best to spread out the sanctuaries across several planets and star systems.

"On the topic of expansion, I think it would be a good idea to survey the rest of the Yanibar system for starters. Kiribian terraforming tech is pretty robust and can be used just about anywhere. For our purposes, I think it would be good to select planets with no preexisting sentient populations."

"Joza Perl, I know her well, she's a fellow member of the Silver Order. It's nice to see that she's backing this. The same goes for Emperor
Baelor. Now, if you're interested in attracting more widespread support for this, then I think you should consider some other powers like the Free World Coalition and Commenor."

She hesitated to mention the First Order or the Galactic Alliance. Both superpowers had large amounts of resources at their disposal could be put to good use here, but both groups had been caught committing some questionable acts during their war that had directly contributed to the large swell of refugees being seen now. It was probably best to hold off on involving either of them before she could get to talking with Queen Kay and Queen Organa first.

"If you'll allow me, then I can speak with my counterparts on Commenor and Alderaan on your behalf. I think they would be in complete support for providing assistance."

Valae cradled her chin thoughtfully as the discussions took off. For the most part, she left the speaking to the Grandmaster. After all, Valae would be following her guidance. As the General spoke his piece about the locals, she pushed her lips to the side. Her eyes flickered to Arisa, and she listened as she offered her advice. Indeed it would be wise to make peace with the local population before changes are initiated. Perhaps there was even a way for her to help here…

A fond smile found her face at the mention of [member="Joza Perl"]. Valae knew her well, an old friend from her days as a padawan. In fact, the two had been part of a group of friends that had been dubbed the “Padawan Pack.” If she remembered rightly, Joza had been one of the first to move on to Knighthood.

She blinked a couple of times to help regain focus, and brought her mind back to the task at hand.

Once Arisa had finished voicing her views, Valae scooted forward in her chair. She wasn’t sure exactly what the climate was like on Yanibar, but she had dealt with extremes before – mostly the harsh desert heat.

“Well, let me know if you do need assistance speaking with the locals – I’d be glad to help.”

It seemed that they would not be jumping into assist right away, but that didn’t meant that preparations couldn’t be made ahead of time. Valae tapped her datapad, ready to take some notes.

“Do you happen to know what the refugees need in terms of care? Clothes, food, and other necessities. We can also help out with clinics to provide medical care and training, too.”

[member="Krayzen Dratos"], [member="Arisa Yune"]

"From my knowledge Ms. Yune, there is only one planet in the Yanibar system: Yanibar. I'm not aware of any other celestial bodies." he stated. "In addition, the current locations that have been suggested are the Pii system, and Setus Prime. " he replied. "The more planets however, the merrier. Would the Silver Sanctum Coalition have any planets for the refugees to join?" he asked, wondering what her response would be.

Krayzen was a bit hesitant at Arisaspeaking to her own his behalf. While an ally, the young Anzat wanted to be able to negotiate for himself. Then again, he didn't have as many connections to the respective factions as Arisa. He had only met Lady Kay once, and he had never been to Coalition space.

"As you wish Master Jedi, if that is what you wish." he stated.

"I will Valae." he replied. "Everything you stated, and much more. The refugees will need everything they can get in order to start a new life. " the Centurion replied.

"Oh, before you converse with Commenor, and the Free Worlds Coalition, you should consult Ms.Perl on the latter. I believe she was going to help me negotiate with them." Krayzen replied.

He then waited for their respective responses.

[member="Arisa Yune"] / [member="Valae Kitra"]

The mention of Pii would ring a bell as she recalled that system being nearby the Galactic Empire. Almost uncomfortably within microjump range.

"Hold up," she said raising a palm. "Before you commit to adding additional systems to this project, I would caution you to consider their locations. Pii is situated dangerously close to the Galactic Empire, which has a reputation for belligerence. I had a front row seat to their acts of genocide on Hapes. My recommendation would be to start things slow at Yanibar, and see where that takes us. If there aren't any other suitable locations within the system, then perhaps surveys could be conducted within that sector?"

She had floated the idea of speaking with Commenor and the Coalition without being aware that Krayzen already had the intention to speak with them. She really didn't mind who did it as long as it was done. The more support garnered to spread around the costs of this venture, the better.

"If you or Joza would prefer to speak with Kay or Organa on your own, then please be my guest, but I am still happy to work with you on the diplomacy front as an advocate. On my end, I can probably get something going with my home government. I could also speak with the InterGalactic Banking Clan - they do some NGO work here and there. Microloans, free banking, finance classes, etc. Long term we're going to actually have to get all these people working and providing for themselves."

So at that point, Krazyen would have the support of the Silver Order, with only a few details left to be sorted. All that could be handled while she started gathering resources and speaking to others. Valae seemed to want to go check on Yanibar for herself, so Arisa would see about getting her a team for that effort.

"Valae made a good point. How can we help the refugees right now while locations are prepped for resettlement?"

[member="Krayzen Dratos"] [member="Valae Kitra"]

For a moment, Valae’s mind wandered. She imagined placing herself in the shoes of a refugee. No doubt, it would be difficult to pick up and leave everything behind – homes, jobs, maybe even family. Surely, it would be devastating. The Silver Service Corps would be there to help ease their transition, and provide some the everyday necessities. It would be a boon to bring in additional help, but Valae would leave these details to the General and Grandmaster.

“It seems like we’re well on our way, in the meantime… We should look at providing the basics: shelter, food, water, and clothing. Needless to say, the list is gonna keep growing, but the more we know now… the better we can prepare.”

Valae’s fingers moved swiftly as she typed on her datapad. There were several models of pop-up shelters, some that could even be assembled quite easily. It wouldn’t be a perfect living situation, that’s for sure… but a roof over your head was better than none.

“Where are the refugees located right now? Are they still scattered about or in a temporary settlement?”

Her brows rose, the questions were forming faster than she could speak them.

“Also, does Yanibar have much to offer in the way of natural resources that the refugees could make use of later on?” Valae tucked a few strands of hair behind her ear, “Sorry – didn’t mean to bombard you, General.” She added a warm laugh for good measure.

[member="Krayzen Dratos"], [member="Arisa Yune"]

"I am aware of the Galactic Empire being close to the Pii system." Krayzen said. "That is why I am working on offering a variety of choices for the refugees to come. They will be given all the factors they need to make a concise decision. I'm also working on finding many other planets." Krayzen said.

"Originally, yes, I did want it to begin at Yanibar, but I have decided to expand to other regions as well." Krayzen said. He appreciated Arisa's recommendations, but he also trusted his own decisions. Nevertheless, he knew that she meant the best, and he showed that with his tone.

"If there is no contact with Ms.Perl, and the respective factions, then I wouldn't want a more qualified individual to represent me. Additionally, I also wouldn't mind having the IGBC help. The more help, the better." Krayzen then turned his attention to Valae, knowing he also had to answer her questions.

"There are scattered all over the galaxy." he replied. "For instance, we have been in contact with a group that maintains space stations in certain locations which they haven't revealed of course, due to security purposes. "Krayzen said.

Now came the question about his homeplanet. "Imagine a planet with severe cold and hot seasons; a planet that is rocky and desolate, and has no infrastructure at all that functions in the current moment. A planet with nothing of value." he said. "That is Yanibar. " Krayzen said. When Valae, laughed, Krayzen maintained a neutral expression. It was something he did very often, even in moments that could appear funny. The Anzat also didn't reply. To him, she had justified questions, and Krayzen hoped he had given satisfactory answers.

"Would you mind bringing up instances where refugees can relocate to certain worlds in Commenor. I believe Ms.Kay wouldn't mind, but it would be nice to have something like that?" he asked.
