Hello everyone, I hope you're having a fabulous phase of the day when you read this. I am utterly and completely new to the concept of a forum rp. I've been roleplaying in games like World of Warcraft and tabletop for about a decade now but I've never done something like this. If anyone has any tips they can give me I would be incredibly appreciative to hear your experienced insight.

As for characters, I was hoping to a Sith character, and most likely a Kaleesh because I am nothing if not predictable. I was, mirroring my experience with this form of rp, hoping to start as an apprentice level character. Very raw and unrefined. If anyone has any suggestions where I can start I would also be appreciative if you could grab me by the bone mask and yeet me in the proper direction.

Welcome to Chaos! It can be a bit overwhelming at first, but you'll figure things out as you go and it will eventually smooth itself over.

To get you started, you'll probably want to make a new character since I assume you don't want to be called Blackenedhelm everywhere you go while in character. To do this, start by clicking your icon on the upper left of the website, this will take you to your 'profile' page. On the upper right you should see two buttons labeled Characters and Edit my Profile, you'll want to click the Characters button. This will present you with two tabs; one that lists all your current characters and another one called Add Subaccount, which you will want to select. This will prompt you to enter a username, which is where you're going to want to put your character's name. This will create a new character as a subaccount associated to your writer's account, and you can have as many subaccounts/characters as you want if you feel in the mood to writing a Jedi, Smuggler, etc. later down the road. From that point on you will want to make a character sheet under the Character Creation subforum which can be found here. There is a provided format/template you can use, but feel free to add whatever you like to make it pretty and flesh out your character to however you'd like.

Since you are interesting in writing a Sith character I will shamelessly plug The Sith Empire, which you can join here and there is a red button labeled Join Faction somewhere on the upper right which will add you to the faction's roster and allow you to see much more of the faction. A link to the discord is there and you can join that to chat/ask questions/socialize with your fellow faction members. Of course there are other factions that can accommodate Sith characters but the Sith Empire is probably the place where you'll get the most out of being a Sith. If you are interested in perusing other factions you may do so here. If you have any general overarching questions that need to be answered you may post them here, alternatively there is a site wide discord you can join if you click the discord icon near the upper right under the search bar.
