The galaxy is filled with fleeting moments,” Gil said, sipping his drink, “that is why we must cherish them all. In a perfect galaxy there would be no need for us at all. People could live in harmony, worlds would prosper, and the need for Jedi to defend what is good and right would be a thing of the past. I long for that future. For us, and for all those who will come after.

Gil looked to the crowd as well, folding his free hand behind his back as he observed the rest of the Jedi present enjoying themselves. Mingling and talking, dancing and drinking, celebrating this day, this instance of harmony. Gil had difficulty trying to enjoy the moment fully himself. Too much darkness still clung to him, the memories of recent battles, recent betrayals hard to forget. Today was not about him though. Today was for them; all the Jedi who would meet here and embrace what could be.

He noted a few Jedi he knew in the crowd, Valery Noble Valery Noble and Briana Sal-Soren Briana Sal-Soren among them, and he inclined his head to them in case they locked eyes for a moment.

Gil raised an eyebrow as he watched Ran attempt to handle her Padawan. The relationship between a Master and their student was different for everyone. Gil himself was uncertain of his current standing with his own Padawan learner, a young Wookiee. He was around the gathering here somewhere, and if time allowed, perhaps Gil would track him down.

The young always find a way to rebel,” Gil said, inclining his head to Ran when she turned back to him. He sipped his drink once more, giving him a moment to think when the topic of Corellia was brought up. “Because I needed a change of pace I suppose. Most of my life was spent on either Corellia or Coruscant, and the ‘concrete jungles’ as they are called just do not suit me. Naboo offers me a mixture of civilization and a perfect balance with nature. You should see the Shiraya Temple. It is deep in the mountains of Naboo, and the journey to reach it alone is filled with more wonders than half a sector.

Why Selvaris?

Thirdas masked a smirk at Valery's appreciative comment, his attention maintained towards the crowd, doubly so once they entered the conference room proper. People of all shapes, sizes, and species were busy mingling; sharing drinks and striking up casual conversations. Some dressed in fine robes, others opted for a more glamorous look in spirit with the festivities below. Before he could get lost in even attempting to discern any potential threats, the Grandmaster was able to rein him in by addressing him directly.

He met her gaze, the intense orange clashing with his obsidian, and felt his facade of stoic professionalism slip some. "I was trained well," his words were somberly tinged as he thought of old Gunny.

"Where I come from it is customary that great leaders command their own personal guard, in war and peace alike. Thurion Heavenshield has his Lionguard," he said, turned towards the crowd once more. "Valery Noble has her Ironsides."

Black eyes scanned the crowd, instincts working overtime to absorb every bit of information, dismantling every threat in his head before they could become one to begin with. Weak knee — dislocate to render immobile. Left handed — prioritise left arm over right. Third glass of wine — sense of balance exploitable. Such was his curse.

There were too many unfamiliar faces to count, but some did stick out. He'd already made eye contact with "Uncle Caltin", and he made a mental note of pulling Amani aside at some point in case she's been in contact with Nida since their last encounter, knowing her to be good friends with her sister Kyra.

"Over there," he nodded towards a young Jedi with long, ginger hair. "Looks like someone's been hitting the booze a little too hard. Do you know him?"

She shook her head with a smirk, "I am sure you say that to all the ladies." Lily knew that she was often seen as very attractive, she occasionally enjoyed the attention but it also meant she had heard a lot of compliments and pick up lines.

It wasn't the compliments to her physical appearance that stirred any interest in her, but the mention of combat did. Though she grinned and shook her head, "I would not attempt a fight in the middle of a ball. I might have a love for combat but I am not someone who would dare cause such a scene." Lily mentioned.

The young Echani followed the waltz with measured ease, "I do enjoy sparring with others and pushing one another to our limits. Perhaps another day, at a more appropriate place." Lily mentioned, not fully rejecting the idea of a spar. Especially since fighting someone new meant she could learn and grow as a fighter, which was something she was always keen on doing.

Okay, blood is pumping. That's a promising sign.

"Great minds think alike," Jack would then make a cocky grin, tilting his head whilst admiring his partner's physique a little more, albeit respectfully. His curious nature compelled along with a matter of courtesy, "Tell me of yourself, Lily. By your age I assume you are a Padawan, are you stationed on Coruscant?"

It was hard to conceal the tremor of hope in his voice, strumming along that enquiry. But hey, any Jedi can hope.

Objective III: Moonlight Meditation

TAG: OPEN

Consoling himself by the memory of the good, Sen decided to practice another form of meditation.. a Mandalorian form of meditation. He made his way to a clearing, some mist hung over blades of grass of golden hue, and he took up his saber hilt and ignited the yellow jasper blade. The hum he felt sync to his heart beat as he then began to swing the blade in archs and cuts, the movement began to stir a resolve inside him, Light began to encompass his armor as he did a flip and swung the blade in an avalanche. Each breath was invigorating as he drew some of the fog inside his lungs, the saber humming as he spun it once more in a flurry of movements, his mirror mask shining the glow of yellow light on his face as he thrusted. It was then that he realized he was not alone.. something stirring in the brush, two great ram horns as a creature growled. The Mando Jedi knew well the Kath Hounds that inhabited Dantooine.

The Beast was agitated, no doubt his sparring had made it irritable and it began to charge, The Mando reaching out with his free hand, he pressing in the Force to make it turn as he evaded its attempt to gorge him. Taking his lightsaber he deactivated the blade and slung it on his belt. He then taking both hands prepared for the recovery as the Great Kath Hound came at him in full gallop. Reaching out with both hands he took hold of the great curled horns as he was bucked up and landed on its back. The Hound let out a howl, it began to make for a boulder protruding in the mist, which knocked Sen off and made him roll among the soil. The Great Kath came around the boulder as it tried to trample him, still The Mando refused to draw his blade and cut it down. He took hold of the Ram Horn once more and was carried into the air as it jerked and tried to caste him off. He held on tightly, this was nothing to the beasts of Mandalor. His people would have slayed the enraged Creature, and took its pelt, however, Sen was a Jedi and his goal was to be at harmony with living beings as much as possible. He had brought the disharmony to this place, and it behooved him to restore it. Climbing back up on the back, he placing his hand on its head began to call to the Sorcery, the very power that had banished him from his people. The Kath Hound began to slow its stride, he could feel its heart beat, so tense and racing, he began to calm it as he said,
"Be at ease.. The Force is life and you and I are part of it.. let us be at peace together."
The Great Kath Hound began to slow its gate until it came to stop altogether. He then gently stepping off its shoulders began to pet its great head of gray and white.
"On my world we have a great beast, The Mythosaur. I suppose here you are the creature of myths huh?"
It probably was strange to see a Mandalorian speak to an animal. There Sen stood beneath the moon with the mighty creature, he wondered how others had faired in their meditations.

Glad to have the chance to speak to her about his ideas, Caltin actually had many of them, but would only really share the generalities here. If he knew that she was available to talk to and maybe eventually help with improvements on the Shadow Temple, that could be done another time. Right now though, after taking a Corellian tea from one of the servers, he turned his attention to the Grandmaster of the Silver Jedi Order.

Thank you for agreeing to this. The Wookiees were there for us for so long, I did not feel right about there not being a presence there. This is not a negative reflection on what you have been able to do with the Silvers, make no mistake. On top of that I have had this idea for a sort of “advanced Academy” in my head for a long time. So I made things happen when the opportunity presented itself.

He nodded in appreciation of the heights she was taking research and exploration to. . I would love to come and look around one day, just to see what you have been able to do. You are of course welcome to come and take a look at what I was thinking.

She offered a bow to that. Kashyyyk had been a long time friend and the wookiees great. Same with the people of Voss with Iella. It was rather a nice time and memories were good when she sat there prepared for what else there was. She could hear conversations and there were other jedi showing up. "I would be glas to come and see what you have made... and you are always welcomed. We have recently begun to explore some of the galaxies and setting up chapter houses for the jedi order. It will allow the jedi toe expand and find places of the force throughout the universe." She said it and bowed her head with a small bow. "It has given us a few new avenues of research. As well as our work with the force and where you can push its training and development. We have begun matter manipulation techniques and fabrication based on what we have learned about dimensional shifting and flow walking."

”Kass”, right? I’m sorry, I’m horrible with names at times. Yes, I wanted there to be a presence back on the planet. We’re actually located just outside of Kachirho."

"Yes, that's me. Chief Librarian Kassogtha Cthylla, at your service." The Pylantian was all smiles, her tentacles undulating in friendly waves. "I'll have to visit your new Enclave sometime."

"Yes, I was on ice for eight hundred years before several Silvers found me on Rhen Var."

Rani's eyebrows rose. "That certainly puts the twenty five years I spent in carbonite into perspective."

Caltin spoke a little more about his new Enclave and casually name-dropped Luke Skywalker. He had known perhaps the most famous Jedi who had ever lived personally. That intriguing fact would've overshadowed the conversation about the renewed Jedi presence on Kashyyyk. But alas, Caltin was soon drawn into conversation with Matsu, preventing the gang from pummeling him with questions about that one famous guy he used to know eight centuries ago. Probably for the best.
Oukranos kept talking to Amani Serys Amani Serys , which was quite the honor, seeing as he usually didn't spare more than a few words to anyone that wasn't his wife. "We are considering it. The Pylantian Confederation has no objections to our building an Enclave, but then they don't really object to much of anything." There was a hint of worry in his voice and in the crease that formed between his brows. "Regardless, it does make things easier for us. Pylos stands to gain a great deal from having a Jedi presence, although it could also paint a target on our backs."

"Not necessarily," Rani said, floating back down to the table. "Pylos is out of the way enough that the major factions have little reason to pursue its conquest." She looked up at Amani and bowed. "You are Amani, yes? I am Rani Baros. My great-grandson Emrys has told me tales of how you saved his life. I thank you for your help."

Eloise happened to catch a glimpse of Sazo Vass Sazo Vass from across the room. She hadn't seen her in, like, a year. They weren't real good friends or anything, but she did look nice. Black dresses were always classy.

"You alright? Didn't twist an ankle or hit your head or anything?"

"Huh?" Turning away from Sazo, Eloise forgot she'd even seen the other girl as soon as she got another eyeful of Diogo. "Nah. Only casualty here was your first drink."

His hand almost brushed hers when he reached out to take the drink. Eloise also tried to avoid making it weird, though she couldn't quite wipe the gleeful smirk off her face as she carefully clinked her glass against his. "It's all good."

"I'm from Niamos. Outer Rim. Beaches, overpriced drinks—a paradise for yuppy Inner Rim tourists."

"Sounds nice." Eloise sipped at her drink, getting a mouthful of the ultra sweet top layer. She enjoyed it a lot more than Diogo did. "I can see you as a beach bum. You've already got the sunglasses. Just take off the shoes, the socks, the shirt..."

"And you? Where do purple haired troublemakers come from?"

"Uhhh..." Feth, what should she say? "... different places." Oof. "Little place called Zaathru, mostly. You've probably never heard of it." She left it at that. "Nice thing about the Jedi Order, it brings all different kinds of people together." Taking a half-step closer to Diogo, she was soon back to smiling. "I'm a Padawan, apprenticed to the Chief Healer. Might be a Knight soon. How about you?"

"They do quite like aiming for your ribs."

Kahlil mused softly, smirking as he glanced down to Valery again. It wasn't going to be too much longer until those days started again. And oddly, he couldn't help but look forward to them. Not her getting kicked in the ribs, just- He loved this, almost as much as she did. Maybe even more. He glanced up though as Thirdas mentioned one of the people up on the upper floor. Roman.

Aris mentioned him once or twice. He chuckled softly before he started to guide Valery over.

"Hello, Roman. How is the party?"

Valery chuckled at Kahlil's remark, her amber eyes alight with mischief. "They do like aiming for my ribs," she agreed, placing a hand on her belly for emphasis. "But hey, that just means they're already practicing their martial arts. I wonder who they got that from," she teased, her voice brimming with warmth.

Her gaze shifted to Thirdas as he mentioned Roman, her attention catching on the red-haired young Jedi he nodded toward. "Ah, Roman," Valery said with a small smile. "Yes, I know him. He's one of the promising ones. Let's hope he hasn't had too much fun with those drinks."

With that, she let Kahlil guide her toward Roman, her hand slipping into the crook of his arm as they made their way through the room. As they approached, Valery's smile softened, her eyes appraising Roman's slightly disheveled state with humor and affection.

After Kahlil spoke, Valery chimed in, her tone playful but kind. "You look like it's not quite your night just yet," she said, her smile tilting into a teasing smirk. "Careful, or Thirdas might think you're a threat and whisk you out of here," she added, casting a quick, conspiratorial glance toward the watchful Ironside.

Her presence was calm and approachable, clearly meant to ease Roman into the moment while also letting him know he was being noticed.

She did hope he was alright.

Listening to the Lorekeeper shine at the thought of there being a presence on Kashyykk again made Caltin smile. He may be talking to Master Matsu Ike Matsu Ike at the moment, but he still heard what she had to say. As well as Rani Baros Rani Baros feeling unnecessarily humbled at how long he was frozen.

It’s not a competition, haha. Do not worry about the time you spent “away”, it brought you here and that is what matters, right? After all, Master Kavar once said so long ago that “The Force has a sense of humor.”

dc-injustice-2-mobile-black-adam-reveal-trailer-dc-izfr7cxbg_82bm.2560.png
Turning back to Master Ike, as if reminded by something. That is something I wanted to focus on. The structure is built, but I am still “building” the inside with so many wonderful Jedi adding their knowledge. I have been taking things I have learned from others here and adding them to the Shadow Temple. I would love to show you not only around, but what I am wanting to do… in fact…

Turning back to Baros, Kass, Amani, everyone in earshot. I want everyone to know that you will be welcome to come by any time, especially when we have our “Open House” to all Jedi. That will be coming soon.

At the far end of the ballroom, Knight von Ascania stood with her back to an ornate pillar, careful not to disturb the decorations that had been placed. The metallic charms hanging from the waist of her dress – a piece that evoked Ukatian fashions during the High Republic era– clinked softly as she moved.

With one hand she held her datapad, and the other, a writing implement. Occasionally, she peeked over the tablet's surface, squinted, and continued taking notes.

Cora had always enjoyed socializing at events like this, but inspiration for her novels had been lacking.

Quite a few couples had taken do the dance floor already. She easily spied Aris Noble Aris Noble – ridiculously tall as he'd grown, and Zaiya Ceti Zaiya Ceti – bright and colorful as she always was. From what she could tell, the pair seemed to be quite literally dancing around their own relationship, if Zaiya's questions regarding boys hadn't already tipped her off.

She hummed and jotted down a few more notes. When she looked back up, her eyes found themselves tracking the very...very high slit of someone's dress. Cora nearly dropped her datapad, blinking as the form of Lily Decoria Lily Decoria came into view, dancing with a man she'd recognized in passing during their retreat to the Wyndvane nexus. She murmured something about undergarments as she watched Jack Wright Jack Wright twirl her friend around the floor, then snapped the stylus to her datpad.

Deftly, she procured a glass of red wine from the tray of a passing server.

"Getting inspiration?"

Iris plopped down beside Cora rather suddenly, yawning as she did so. Unlike practically all the Jedi here, she was dressed in a throwaway, paint covered top and similarly paint stained jeans. Appearance wasn't something she really cared about, after all. What she did? Zaiya Ceti Zaiya Ceti . Her gaze focused up on the girl and her dance partner as the Knight took a sip of her wine.

Was this what it was like to feel protective, perhaps? Huh.

"How you been, Cora?"

Corazona von Ascania Corazona von Ascania

Cora choked on her wine, startled, and nearly dropped her datapad. So much for Jedi senses.

A quick half-step to the side, and she was looking at Iris Arani Iris Arani .

"Perhaps," she grumbled, placing down her glass on a nearby table. She thumped her fist on her chest to help dislodge the rest of the drink from her windpipe. "I've been well, how abou-"

She paused, finally taking note of what Iris was wearing. Dirty clothing? Jeans?? At a gala??

"Good Ashla, woman!"
An exaggerated gesture was thrown toward her outfit. "Were you assaulted by paint-wielding ruffians on the way here?"
Dc6pDtW.png

Amani heard Caltin's chortle and smirked back. It seemed there was more than one Enclave in the works at the moment, further proven by Oukranos' comment. Things were certainly busy for the Jedi, "Specialization is a good avenue to take our enclaves, I think." She said in regards to Caltin's Shadow Temple. He soon turned to speak with Matsu, leaving Amani with an uncharacteristically chatty Oukranos.

"I think Pylos would be a safe location. And having the defenses provided by a stationed order of Jedi helps." Rani introduced herself properly now, and the Chief Healer dipped her head, "That's right. Good to meet you. It was my pleasure."

FmQmDzB.png

Iris raised a brow, curiously and perhaps worriedly watching Cora choke on her drink. Once it was at least clear the woman wasn't about to die she looked back to the dancing pair. Only to blink in surprise at Cora's sudden surprise at her outfit. She glanced over herself, frowning just a bit. Parts of the paint stains were rather fresh. Still dripping, even, in parts.

"No. But I guess I got a little paint on the mural I did outside."

The image in question
was now plastered on the outside wall in a rather large piece. Would she get in trouble? Eh. She never did before. "They'll wash out." Given the older stains? No, they did not.

Well, she started it.

Diogo laughed, trying to portray a confidence he absolutely didn't feel. "You should come visit sometime. I bet you look good without a dress." He sipped his drink to cover the faint flush rising into his cheeks. The room seemed to narrow and he became too aware of his own body.

"Little place called Zaathru, mostly. You've probably never heard of it."

Diogo slightly narrowed his brows. He'd never heard of Zaathru, but made a mental note to peruse the archives later. She seemed hesitant for some reason. "Zaathru, huh? What's it like?" His tone was curious and gentle. Diogo wanted to see how she would respond to some light probing, but he was ready to drop the topic at her discretion.

"I'm a Padawan, apprenticed to the Chief Healer. Might be a Knight soon."

"Padawan to the Chief Healer. Sheesh, that's impressive. You must have great bedside manner, then." He swirled his drink and glanced at her again as she took a half-step closer. He studied her eyes. "You lookin' forward to Knighthood?"

"How about you?"

Diogo adjusted his glasses and shrugged. "Oh, I'm just a Padawan. No fancy titles. Been spendin' time with the Coalition out in LAW space. You know how it is. Hey," he said, feigning casualty and gesturing to the center of the ballroom. "Before you're a big Knight and too important for me, would you maybe wanna dance?"

The music swelled, but all he could hear was the thumping of his own heartbeat.

Nerves had caused her to dip for the nearest refresher shortly after arriving, the young Kazelrrian fidgeting with her hair and the butterfly clip that adorned it for what felt like the thousandth time already.

"It’s f-fine, everything’s fine…" The face that stared at her through the mirror felt both familiar and foreign. While the makeup she wore had been kept to the faintest of blushes and a bit of lip gloss the butterfly earrings that now framed it added a level of elegance and luxury Mahsa simply wasn’t used to.

The set had been a gift from Valery Noble Valery Noble when they had gone shopping not long ago, the Grandmaster having insisted on treating Azurine Varek Azurine Varek , Zaiya Ceti Zaiya Ceti , Vera Noble Vera Noble , and herself during that delightful escapade—though little did she know the funds had all come from Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble ’s account. Her hands smoothed over the deep hued fabric of her dress, she’d fallen in love with it at first sight when they entered that store, before taking another deep breath to calm herself.

Okay, I think everything’s in place…? They had all gushed and awed about each other's dresses that day, everyone had looked absolutely beautiful then—and she was certain they’d be stunning tonight with the ensembles finally put together. Quietly her thoughts strayed towards Ayhan Ayhan , wondering if the Firronthix might think she looked pretty too, before she quickly chased them away as her hands gently slapped her cheeks.

"R-Right, we can’t hide forever…" With a final deep breath Mahsa gathered her courage, finally rejoining the festivities in place.

She had spent hours throughout multiple days in her room practicing how to walk on her new heels, and her efforts paid off as Mahsa’s steps remained smooth and steady. There was an odd feeling of satisfaction that bubbled in her chest upon hearing the echo of her heels against the floor, adding light streaks of apricot to the coral and amber hues that danced across the bottom half of her hair.

In the time she’d been gone the room had filled up with more unfamiliar faces, causing the Kazelrrian to hang back by the edges of it as her eyes scanned for anyone familiar she might be able to latch onto join…

Roman's eyes darted around the room like trapped fireflies, finally settling back on the trio, the one he didn't know nodding in his direction. Who is that guy? Feth, they are coming. He spun around his table like a top, awkwardly trying to shield himself from their view, desperate to disappear. They can't see me if I can't see them. He continued his frantic munching, occasionally peeking around his shoulder, nervous eyes checking for danger. They're still coming! Oh, Chit, oh, Chit!

Downing his drink in a desperate attempt at evidence destruction, he turned to face the approaching doom. Empty glass, no way they could tell what he was drinking, right? Right. He leaned back against the high-top with the casual grace of a wobbly tower, his arm strategically positioned to cover the now-empty glass. A wobbly, toothy grin stretched across his face.... Less teeth, Roman, less teeth!

As they drew nearer, the words tumbled out of his mouth, a chaotic mix of formality and incoherence. "Hello, Hello... Master Nobles." Master Nobles? What in the blazes was that? "Uhhh, erm -- sorry, Master Noble and Master Noble. The party is great!" Nailed it. Totally cool, Roman. His gaze fell upon Valery, her words echoing through his slightly buzzing skull. Did it not look like he was having fun? His eyes widened almost comically at the mention of Thirdas, the imposing figure looming behind her. By Ashla, is she surrounded by giants? Men who could crush a padawan with a sneeze, it seemed.

"I'm great, everything's fine," he blurted out, immediately regretting the admission. Why did that come out? Quick, change the subject! "How does the evening fare... for you all?" he managed, his voice slow and shaky, his attention fixated on Thirdas' unwavering stare. The giant's gaze felt like a spotlight, burning a hole through Roman's already frazzled composure.
