"A little bit!" Vera said with a grin of her own. She could tell just how proud and happy her father was that she learned so quickly, and it made it impossible for her to stand still. She was rocking back and forth on her heels, and looking at him full of wonder in her eyes. This meant a lot to both of them — she was learning something that he felt very proud about, and she felt like she had gotten just a little closer to Dad again.

"I used what you taught me, but I also listened to what you said. It's an extension of my will, right?" She asked, hoping that it'd make him feel even more proud she had listened so well.

Her rather chaotic nature didn't always make that so easy.

"I imagined the sphere, and I could see these... patterns. I made the shapes and followed the lesson, and bam! I won't use it for wrong reasons, but it was so cool!" She giggled and turned back to the lake, just to see the damage she had done to the target he set up.

Yeah, that was pretty cool.

"Can you keep teaching me more of these runes? Oh! I also want to help you with your stuff! Can I, dad?" She was bombarding him with things now, but she was just too excited.

"I can teach you all kinds of runes, but you should focus on those I've already taught you before trying to get more. The more attention you split, the harder it'll be to keep track of everything. Learn the runes you do have until they're second nature, then I'll teach you more, mm?"

He smiled. The want to learn more was a good want to have. It's what drove him before, still drove him now. The more they learned, the better off they'd be. All of them. Still, she did do quite well. So.. He raised a hand, tracing out a different rune this time. A simple one.

"Here's a special one, though. Protection. On it's own it's useful, but there's a lot you can do with it even with the few I've already taught you."

"But.... I want more!" Vera didn't really protest, but she was excited to learn more. She could already blow things up with ice! She had just shown him that. But it seemed that her father knew exactly what his little star was like, and as soon as he drew the Protection rune, Vera brought up her hands in front of her, clenched them into fists, and stared at it with widened eyes.

"Yessss!" she exclaimed with a wide grin — this was a rune she loved to learn.

"Is that the one you used to protect Niv Hani against the enemy ships? Oh! You've used this to protect Mom before too, right? I think I saw it in my visions!" She was bouncing up and down on her heels now, and definitely looked like she was going to explode with energy.

It was, perhaps, a little too much energy.

"It's a basic version of it, yes. There were hundreds of runes laid out so I could protect Niv Hani. You can lay them out ahead of time. And depending on how, you can make them almost permanent so long as you're close enough to activate them. That's the biggest advantage of these to just using the Force normally. It's like making a program that you can flick on whenever you like without needing to try and do it in the middle of a battle."

If she was this excited, there was no way Kahlil wasn't going to match it. He was all grins, more than excited to explain just how it all worked. Even; he pulled out a piece of chalk, holding it out towards her.

"This is imbued with the Force. Makes those premade runes easier to activate. You can carve them into anything you can carve them into. Even use your lightsaber to if that's something you have to, but this is the less destructive way to do it. Makes for good traps if you have the time to set up before a confrontation."

"Woahhh," Vera said once more, as she listened to what he said. This was the rune that had protected Niv Hani, her Mom, his Padawans and so many more people! If she learned to use this one well, she could be with Aris when he was fighting, and really help protect him! He couldn't use the Force to shield himself, after all, so she was going to make sure that she'd be there to protect him as much as she could.

Even if he'd get his own Master to watch over him. Vera would never let her siblings get hurt.

"Thank you, Dad," Vera said after accepting the chalk, and this time, she jumped at him for a big hug. "Should I try using the chalk? Or should I take more time to practice first? I want to be good at this!" She nodded several times to make sure he knew how important it was to her.

"I want to protect home, and Mom, and Aris and you."

"The chalk isn't easy to make, so I suggest you practice without it until you've learned to make your own. Once you make your first sequence, and I mean a big one, I'll teach you how to make more, alright?"

A full sequence wasn't something easy to do, but he had a strange feeling Vera would certainly be able to make her own custom sequence if she put her mind to it. Especially with her promise just now to keep everyone safe. He smiled warmly before looking back out over the waters.

"There's so much you'll be able to do. I'm really looking forward to everything you learn to make, Little Star."

Vera hummed in thought for a moment, then nodded at her father, "I will make a very big one, like you did." Her tone had that bubbly excitement, but she was also being very serious. She was going to protect a lot of people with these runes, in a lot of different ways as well. There was no room for error, and she couldn't let her excitement get to her too much.

Mom and Dad always talked about focus and being calm, after all.

"I'm glad it makes you happy too, Dad. But soon I won't be a little star anymore," she said with a chuckle. While not as tall as Aris, she was growing fast and poor Valery was really going to be the smallest eventually.

"Mom seemed scared of it."

"Oh, you'll always be my little star, Vera. We could be over a hundred of years old and that won't change." Which, given their species, was very likely. He smiled, reached down to ruffle her hair some. "But that's not what has your mother and I.. Nervous, I suppose would be the right word. We're not scared or dreading you all getting older. But.. You're our children. You are my daughter. We'll always be nervous about your futures. It's just what parents do."

Vera liked that a lot.

They were all going to be over a hundred years old, maybe even two-hundred! But still, she'd be their little star. It made her smile, and close her eyes for a moment, while she enjoyed her hair being ruffled. Vera then sniffled a little again because of the cold, and listened to what her father said next. It... made sense to her, even though she couldn't really look at it from their point of view. She just wanted to go out into the world, go on adventures and play.

But she felt nervous when Mom and Dad left too, especially after Dad being gone for years and Mom getting captured. That's what made her so passionate about protecting people.

She wanted nobody to ever feel the way she had.

"I understand, Dad. I get nervous about you, Mom and the others too." She chuckled and let out a puff of air. "Mom is still weird about us being tall, though." She needed to add it for good measure, especially because every Noble in the house was going to be teasing her over it.

"But Dad? Can I maybe help you with something you're learning? You and Mom always help me, but I want to know what you're working on, too!"

Something she could help him with?

Kahlil hummed in thought. In truth, there wasn't much he could think of at the moment. He'd spent a long time just working on his runes so he could lay them out ahead of time and create fortifications like he had in the city. But they weren't mobile. He had to have the time to set up such fortifications for them to be of any real use. He could likely make some mobile just by carrying talismans and the like, but it'd get too unwieldy to have them on much larger slabs.

His gaze settled on the snowman. And his eyes lit right up.

"Do you want to build a snowman?"

A snowman?

Vera blinked and looked at the snowman they had already built together. That wasn't too hard, right? Why would he need her help with that? She squinted and began to suspect there was more to what he said. Maybe they were going to build a really big one! Or give it weapons and make it breathe fire while it shoots lazers from its eyes!

A dangerous sparkle ignited in the orange part of her eyes. It was the bit of Valery in her.

"That sounds fun! What kind of snowman?"

"A living snowman."

Kahlil stood up, walked towards the snowman they had already created. "The weakness of these runes is the fact they need to be drawn. If you set them up ahead of time, it's easier to use. With your visions, you might be able to use them far better than I simply because you could set them up sooner. But what if they were already moving?"

He set a hand atop the snowman's head. A sequence of runes formed, far more complex than what he'd shown Vera before. Then it shifted. Moved. Turned it's head to look at him, then to Vera.

"What if we have the runes make a golem?"

Vera listened intently to her father, and watched him manipulate the snowman with some runes she had never seen before. The patters were...complex, and the Force that swirled around their comstruction of snow and ice felt just as complicated. It was far beyond her level of skill, but that only challenged the young Noble to pay extra attention. There was no way in her mind that she'd not make sure to learn these things herself one day.

She would take it one step at a time.

"That is so cool!" She watched the snowman look between them and began to wonder. "Are they able to feel and think when they are like this? Or is it more like we program them to do certain things?" Vera asked with nothing but wonder in her eyes.

"If we make a Golem, what can we have it do? Maybe protect the Temple? Or even protect Niv Hani!" She chuckled at all the ideas she had. It was still important to her what they would be like, though. She didn't want to force them to guard if they had their own will and didn't want to guard.

But that was probably not what this was. Only the Sith twisted or created life, right?

"Not this basic form, no. I only put in the commands for it to move around." Which, it was. It wasn't much, just wandering around the position he'd set it on. There'd have to be far more commands made, and that wasn't going to be a quick or easy process. And yet, he was excited for it. A wide smile formed on his face as he watched the little snowman move. "I suppose it's more like a droid, but even more basic than that. A set of instructions that I'll have to figure more and more out with as we go. It'll be pretty complex, but I imagine yes, they could start being guardians for the Temple or even New Havi."

Vera nodded, "I think it's good they don't feel or think the way we do." It'd feel wrong to make them, and then force them to do certain things if they had the ability to not want to do something. But if it was like a droid, or something they 'programmed' with instructions via runes, then it was okay! They could experiment and maybe create Golems that could protect places, people, and save lives!

Just the way a Jedi would.

"New Cov doesn't have many Jedi, but the planet is close to the Mandalorians," Vera said with a frown. "We should protect it with runes and Golems. Home too, and maybe we can guard all sorts of Temples!" She was just as excited as her Dad now, and she wanted to help so badly.

"Can we go try make a Golem next?"

At that moment, Valery chimed in through the bond with a chuckle <Still out there, hm? Take your time with her, sweetie. I'm feeling a lot of joy out there. From both of you~> she teased just a little.

<We'll be out for a while, I imagine. Just save us some dinner, yeah?>

Kahlil chuckled silently. It was good to see just how excited Vera was to learn his own craft. Runes and golems. He was certain there would be a level of sentience to the more complex ones, though. If anything, the more complex they got the more likely they'd have to have sentience. That thought made him frown just a little. He didn't want to make something with the intent of making it serve.

But it'd be the best way to keep people safe, wouldn't it?

"We can try. Like I sad, it'd be very complex. We're not looking at a couple hours, but probably a couple.. Well, years. There's a lot to figure out. Which runes are best, if it might end up gaining sentience on it's own like a droid does. So much experimentation to have."

She chuckled and already knew that they were likely not coming home before dark. Not with Vera being this excited to spend time with her Dad. Well, and Kahlil seemed very excited to have Vera this interested in helping him too. It was the cutest thing in the Galaxy, so the least she could do was make them some dinner and maybe offer her own support later. The triplets didn't like sleeping without both Mom and Dad tucking them in.

Maybe she'd have to bring them over to pick those two up later.

"So much fun to have!" Vera added to what her dad told her. "We take it one step at a time, and it's going to be our project," Vera told him with a big nod, before she took both his hands and looked at him with sparkles and joy. "Should we start with collecting the materials? Or maybe we make its feet first!"

"...do you think it can breathe fire if we try?"

"The first thing we do is sequencing. We have to study the runes, make sure the sequence we make works. If it isn't right, there can be unforeseen side effects after all." It was important that they didn't accidentally make a bomb and blew up whatever valuable material they used to make it. "Clay. Clay would be good for the first couple we make. I'll get some ordered, and while we're waiting for the shipment we can start the coding, yeah?"

Well, he didn't say no to fire breathing.

The thought made her chuckle but she did pay enough attention to her Dad to listen. He was going to put in an order for clay, and they would start working on sequences to get their little project going. Maybe some of the runes she learned would already be useful.

Or maybe she could pick up on new patters quickly, and learn even more. Another part of her wondered if her visions would be able to help somehow.

But either way, Vera was excited.

"Let's get started!" She exclaimed. Vera did not feel hungry now that they had something fun to work on, and even as the sun was starting to go down, she wanted to stay with her father. So much do, that eventually Valery walked into the forest. She was dressed in her winter coat with her nose and mouth hidden under her collar.

She never liked cold.

Running all around here were the triplets, who were eager to see what Dad and their big sister had been up to!

It was, as he said, a long, long process. They certainly weren't going to make anything actually capable in a day. It was mostly going about the various runes they could work, and that alone was a big list for Vera to learn. Runes that focused on movement, on purpose, on effects. The more they discussed, the more likely they'd have to 'awaken' them like he had with Serenity. Kyber would likely end up the heart of these golems.

He looked towards where Valery and the Triplets were coming from, smiling after a moment.

"I think we'll pause it here, Vera."
