Hand's Off My Man

The Reaper of Won Shasot
After the Padawan was done, Dax grabbed the man and heaved him to his feet. He grunted under the weight of the much larger being. Dax could have sworn that the Trandoshan was trying to make it difficult.

"Alright Leo, get down here. We got him." the Knight then turned to the young girl, "What do the Jedi want with the guy anyways huh?"

Kalyn hooked her saber back onto her belt as the rogue knight asked her a question about what the Jedi wanted with the bounty hunter. She looked back up to him, "How's that you're business? You're not apart of the order anymore, what's it to you?" She asked as her stubborn streak started to appear. She was in no way mad at him, though it did sound like she had a problem with him. It was simply the idea of what would happen if the bounty hunter was killed and she failed her mission that was plaguing her mind. Which caused her to sound a little rude towards the man.

"Copy that," Leo replied into the comms, "On my way down." Leo bent his knees and stepped over the edge, letting his boots slide down the wall. At the last moment Leo pushed himself of off the wall at wrapped a hand around a balcony rail, dropping to ground level. He landed in a crouch just as the Trandoshan used the last of his strength to try and break out of Dax's grip. Suddenly, Leo's Westar was out, pointed square at the bounty hunter's face. "Problem?" Leo said, his face stern as ever. The bounty hunter quickly raised his hands up in surrender as Leo motioned for him to get on his knees, the Trandoshan following the orders. "Let's take him to a warehouse or someplace we can get what info we need from him." Leo cocked his head towards the girl behind Dax and grinned once again. "Leo Vandermolen, nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too, Kalyn Tyree." She returned the greeting to the newly acquainted man. When she heard the pair wanted to take him to a warehouse for information it spiked her curiosity. "..What do you two want with him?" She asked them, one eyebrow slightly quirking upwards.

Dax rolled his eyes at his partners grinning at the girl. "The guy's a bounty hunter. His hardware isn't just some crappity ass blaster he found at a pawn shop. This guy-" Dax replaced the cuffs on the man's wrists, "gets supplies from a man who has a bio weapon he's trying to offload. He knows how to get into contact with him."

"Hmm, interesting." She said, mostly to herself as she hummed in thought. Perhaps that's why the Jedi order wanted this bounty hunter caught, so he wouldn't be able to keep getting high-end weaponry from whoever he's in contact with, maybe the Jedi were going to question him on who it was once she returned him to the Order, which would explain why they desperately wanted him alive. She hadn't been told much or given much information about the mission or the bounty hunter himself. Only to bring him in, specifically alive.

"Alright big shot" Leo said as he sheathed his blaster once again, "Let's get a move on." The trio moved with the prisoner out of the alley, Leo held up his hastily forged ID to anyone who looked on with suspicion, as people stepped aside to allow them to pass as they made their way towards the warehouse that Leo and Dax had picked and scouted out days prior.

Upon reaching the warehouse, they skirted around the side and entered through the maintenance door. Leo closed it behind them and latched it shut, Leo grabbing an old metal chair from a stack to the side, bringing it towards the center of the room where it would be illuminated by a single hanging bulb... standard interrogation setup. "When you're ready Dax, what are we doing with the girl?"

Dax took the girl by the shoulder and spun her around, guiding her back outside. "We'll guard outside." he said, although, telepathically, he told the man that the young Padawan shouldn't see that kind of work. It wasn't a Jedi's business. "Radio me when we're done here." he said audibly, ushering the girl out the door before she could protest.

Outside the night was cool, and brightly lit, light from the bridge cities illuminating the skies, the stars above a little dimmer than they'd been before. A soft breeze filled the night, blowing away the unsavory stench of the warehouse district. As much as Dax hated Cato Neimoidia, he had to admit, it was a beautiful night.

Kalyn watched as Leo prepared the interrogation with the bounty hunter, she took a step forward ready for answers, until she was spun around from her shoulder by by the young Jedi, she looked at him confused. "Guard?..Wait what?" She said, neither of them listening to her before the young man ushered her out the door, "Hey!"

She turned around but found the door was already shut and knew he wasn't going to let her in. She gave him an unimpressed look before she folded her arms and turned around, 'guarding' the warehouse. "It's not like I haven't seen it before you know." She mumbled, as bits of her past started to come back to her.

Dax began to laugh, "You've watched someone pull the claws off a Trandoshan with a pair of pliers before?" he said laughing, "That's rich. Some Jedi you are then." He said scoffing. He leaned against the wall of the warehouse and crossed his arms.

She rolled her eyes and scoffed, "No. I haven't seen that. I'm talking about the whole interrogation thing." She said, clarifying what she was referring to earlier on. "That's why you took me outside, you think I can't handle it cause I'm just a padawan." She accused as she turned back around, folding her arms.

"Pretty much." he said bluntly. "You're young, sure, but that's not the only issue. You're a Jedi. The kind of work we do is generally frowned upon by the Order." He shrugged straightening himself out once more. "You guys hold yourself to a moral code that's idealistic, not practical. To be honest that might be one thing that I actually admire about the Sith. They get chit done."

[member="Kalyn Tyree"], [member="Leo Vandermolen"]

"Sith don't 'get chit done'." She started, using his words. "They murder, torture and enslave the innocent. There's nothing to admire about them." She thought about what he said, about the Order having morals and a code that was idealistic but hardly practical. Maybe he was right, maybe it was his point of view, either way it was now going to linger in her mind. "So is that why you left the order? Didn't like their moral code? Wanted to, get chit done?" She asked, turning back around to face him, arms still folded.

Dax laughed, "Before I answer your question, lemme ask you, have you ever heard of Darth Vectivus? Probably not. He was an immensely powerful Sith, yet he is generally forgotten. Why? Because he did no evil. He never committed genocides, or tried to conquer the galaxy. He actually died peacefully among friends and family." the Rogue explained to the girl, "The Sith aren't inherently evil. Not really. Most just abuse the powers they wield." Dax shrugged again, stuffing his hands into the pockets of his jacket. To him it was all just a fact of life. Nothing was ever inherently evil. It could just become evil.

"As to why I left the Order." he paused and took a deep breath, "In truth I didn't always agree with the Order, I've never been the kind of person to just accept what I'm told. But that's not why I left." his eyes left hers and he looked down to the ground, to his boots. "I left because the Order abandoned me. My master and I, we worked heavily in the Outer Rim. We focused on slave and spice rings. A couple of them controlled by Sith, another source of income. Eventually they saw us as a threat and sent an Apprentice to take us out. My master died, the Apprentice died, but I didn't. And when I needed help, none came. When I asked to bring the Sith in, I was denied that too. They argued that revenge was not the way of the Jedi. They sat on their hands, let one of their own get killed, and did nothing to eliminate a growing threat. All because they had their 'Jedi Code'." Dax spat the last words in frustration. "I left cause I wouldn't stand by and let more people get hurt."

[member="Kalyn Tyree"], [member="Leo Vandermolen"]

She shook her head when he asked about this 'Darth Vectivus'. She listened to his explanation and looked the ground, furrowing her eyebrows. As he did have a decent argument, she didn't know enough, much less anything at all to even begin to argue back on the topic about this Sith. "The civil and harmless actions of one Sith doesn't make up or the many that do have plans to commit genocide or conquer the galaxy." Her stubborn streak ceased to die down as she kept arguing with the rogue Jedi.

He then began to answer her question about leaving the order, she listened though not looking at him front on. When he mentioned his Master and himself worked on the Outer Rim, mainly focusing on slave and spice rings, was when she turned her head back to him, her curiosity and interest spiking. Her expression turned from an unimpressed and judgemental look to one of sorrow, pity and sympathy. Perhaps she was too quick to judge this character without knowing his past. That was her mistake. While she didn't want to admit the Jedi were in the wrong here, she did feel bad for Dax that the Jedi could've done something to offer some sort of condolence to the young Jedi who had just lost someone close to him. She knew the bond between a Padawan and their Master was strong. She looked back up to him, "I'm..sorry for your loss. And my behaviour just then." She apologised, instantly regretting how she'd acted in the last few minuted now that she'd had a glimpse of the rogue Jedi's past.

"Don't be. We're all entitled to our own opinions. And you didn't kill him so there's nothing to be sorry about." he said to the Padwan. That had all been a long time ago. It happened, now he had to buck up and focus on the task at hand, not wallow in the past. "Where's your master anyways?" he asked, "I'm surprised that they sent you off on your own."

[member="Kalyn Tyree"]

"Something else came up that urgently required his attention. Originally the mission was going to be passed onto another Jedi, but I convinced my Master that I could handle it and in turn he convinced the Order to send me on my own." She looked outwards towards the black night sky, "That's why I need this mission to work out, and turn out well. If I return, failing, they'll probably never let me out on my own again."

Dax felt sympathy for the girl. A tortured captive probably wouldn't look good to the Council, "Sorry, but this guy isn't exactly gonna be in great shape."

(Sorry short post...)

Kalyn laughed shortly, "Yeh, I took a pretty good guess at that the moment we caught him. It's ok though, as long as I bring him in to the Council, everything should be ok." She said, "..Hope so anyway." She added, trying to end on an optimistic note.

(all good!)

"Just tell him bounty hunters got to him first...not a lie." he said as he began to pace back and forth. Although he didn't expect any company, he felt a little uneasy. Every world had a dark side right?
