Sssar Taszzn
She smiled and chuckled softly at
Sssar Taszzn
's joke regarding his new title and his expectancy for her to refer to him as such.
"Of coarse, Chairman Taszzn!" She bowed slightly,
"But in all seriousness, I am very much looking forward to the good that will surely come from your appointment." She smiled warmly at the Senator. He was the perfect fit for such a role, and his new appointment was a major win for the coalition.
Regarding his lack of interaction with
Faith Organa
up to this point, Tiresh took a sip of her wine and looked over towards the Queen. She looked stunning.
"I'm sure you two have much in common." She offered. It was a tedious balance that the Coalition had struck… one that must be upkept with careful attention. They were all truly as diverse as the planets they represented, and while such diversity could ultimately sway in their favor, it could also be marred by divisions if they focused on their many differences. She looked up again at Sssar and offered an elegant laugh as she attempted her own humor,
"I must say, you always dress so appropriately for every occasion! I think I might envy you in that regard, Senator!"
As
Faith Organa
made her entrance officially into the hall by way of the staircase, Tiresh turned her full attention to the Queen. The hall began to fill with soft applause as Tiresh joined them, smiling and nodding warmly at the Queen as she descended, clapping her hands elegantly together. What a wonderful dress she was wearing! She looked absolutely fabulous.
She wanted to congratulate the queen, but she was quickly met with many who desired to do the same, and so she opted to wait until the crowd began to dissipate a bit. A gust of wind caused Tiresh to turn towards the main doors of the hall, where she witnessed a very elaborate and stunning entrance from
Auteme
. Tiresh couldn't help but smile as the pedals floated through the air and dissolved against her dress and the floor. She looked stunning indeed.
In the back of Tiresh's mind, she was growing suspicious of the Senator. Whatever trust had been built between them had quickly dissipated when Auteme went behind the FAC's back by going public with the group on her own terms and for her own political gain. It was a bold move on her part to say the least, but Tiresh was not convinced that it was a wise one, considering she might have just ostracized herself from the Coalition… and she surely did not have much support from the Corporatists. In the end, you need votes if you want to make a play for Chancellor, which it was blatantly apparent to Tiresh that such ambitions where what lay underneath her recent actions. And Tiresh simply did not think that she would get many votes… not after what she had done.
Tiresh had not considered herself as even a possibility of being nominated for Chancellor until more recently. The Assassination attempt on her life had really galvanized the public's perception of her in a very positive light, portraying her as the underdog standing up to the big bad wolves. She was becoming more comfortable with the idea, however she knew that there were some others titans within their ranks that would make excellent Chancellors as well. Ultimately, she would support the majorities nomination, because if they fractured their votes on a new chancellor while the Corporatists remained united, then they would lose. And that was unacceptable.
But of course, the idea of herself being Chancellor was an attractive one. She just couldn't afford to put the cart before the horse right now.
She smiled politely and offered a nod of her head as
Auteme
joined them. As she mentioned the assassination attempt, Tiresh's smile faded as she took a sip of her glass,
"Thank you for your concern, Senator Auteme. I am grateful to have the support and encouragement of my fellow colleagues. I'm afraid rest is a luxury I cannot afford at the moment, not with the Corporatists right on the brink, but I appreciate the sentiment."
She then tilted her glass towards
Auteme
with a smile,
"…And might I say, what a fantastic entrance, my dear! You look stunning." If there was any reservations that Tiresh held towards Auteme, it was not evident. She did leave one telling remark however,
"I read your article on the holonews by the way. Very intriguing! I look forward to processing more with you and the others about it." She smiled, and her eyes focused intently on Auteme for a moment before turning towards
Madelyn Lowe
who was approaching the group.
"Senator Lowe!" She exclaimed with a bit more pep in her tone. She was grateful to see her. She smiled as Madelyn desired to quickly move onto business, a sentiment that Tiresh shared as well in her natural state. Ever since the attempt on her life, everything felt much more… urgent. But she also believed that more FAC Senators would be joining them, so perhaps they should wait to begin.
"Yes! As all of you know, we have been deliberating back and forth on our Strategic Roadmap. It would be good to finalize this so that we can all be on the same page moving forward. There is also the assassination attempt on Donavon and myself, I think we need to address it… how should we respond? Do we speed up our timeline? And there is also the little matter about Auteme forcing the Coalition public ahead of schedule, I think it would be good to discuss the ramifications of this as a coalition. Here are the bullet points…" She pulled out her data pad and quickly forwarded the information to everyone present.
"Please let me know if there is anything else we need to discuss…" She suddenly felt a soft touch on her arm, and a flash of a smile quickly crossed her face as she turned to see
Isla Draellix-Kobitana
standing beside her. She squeezed her hand as it found its way into hers, then turned to the other Senators and took in a bit of a nervous breath as she continued,
"… I believe Faith has organized a private meeting room for all of us, so perhaps we can continue this conversation in a bit? I would love to introduce all of you to someone who needs no introduction…" She turned and smiled warmly as Isla,
"This is my plus one! Isla Draellix, Prime Minister of the Ashlan Crusade." Her eyes caught the reaction of
Xasha Callisto
. She knew that there might be a variety of responses to this relationship being made public, but now was good of a moment as any, especially with the positive favor she currently held from the attempt on her life. She smiled and nodded with a tinge of embarrassment at the senator of Constancia,
"I understand, Senator. And thank you…"
She looked back up at the other Senators, uncertain how anyone would respond. These were her allies, but they were also very politically minded and might not look favorably upon it. But with the Maw and the NIO barking down their necks, she hoped that a strengthening of the relationship between the Alliance and the Ashlan Crusade would be perceived in a positive light. They needed allies now more than ever.
And then
Faith Organa
and
Draco Vereen
approached them, the masses beginning to make way for the couple. She smiled warmly and bowed slightly,
"Queen Faith! Your dress is absolutely marvelous! What a pleasure it is to celebrate you! There is much to celebrate." She then looked at her husband, a man she had not had the previous pleasure of meeting,
"Mr. Vereen! What an honor to finally make your acquaintance!"
