Once more, they disengaged; Saiah’s breastplate had taken several light hits, leaving marks on the lacquered metallic surface. Both combatants had been somewhat worn down, though the Jedi probably more so than Saiah. While Saiah had to be defensive, the Jedi had exerted a lot of energy on her speed and acrobatics to put her in the tough position. Perhaps her best choice would be to wear down the Jedi, but at the same time, the Jedi was wearing down her defence.
Saiah scanned the Zabrak woman in front of her, she was breathing rapidly, but still in good health. Her armour showed signs of a few glancing blows from Saiah’s blade, but nothing that had hampered her. Desperately, her eyes darted over the Zabrak’s form in scearch of her secret. Then she saw her hilt. It was odd, lying strangely in her hand. Saiah needed a closer look.
Once more, the two champions clashed in a flurry of flashing lights. The Zabrak Jedi whirled and swerved, coming at Saiah from a multitude of directions to press her defence and burst through. Saiah employed the beskar plates of her armour to keep her at bay; she was looking for the perfect opportunity to get a hold of that weapon. As the sabres flashed, hissed and clashed, Saiah managed to lock blades with her opponent and force the hilts up above their heads. The Jedi tried to employ a knee strike to separate herself from the Sith, but Saiah anticipated it. She turned her hips and forced the knee astray with her legs. Then she hooked the Jedi’s leg with her own and stepped in while pushing her blade. The Jedi tumbled backwards, but was unable to roll away due to their locked feet. Saiah remained standing, but crouched down to keep the pressure up. Their sabres remained locked even in the fall and now Saiah was pressing both blades down against the Jedi.
The Zabrak struggled and then smiled. She had found a way to take the Sith down, even at the risk of her own life. With her thumb, the female Jedi turned off her blade and let Saiah’s pass through, the scarlet blade carved into her shoulder. However, the Jedi’s blade reactivated as Saiah’s passed and hurtled up against her throat. Saiah threw herself back to avoid, but she could feel the heat as it passed millimetres from her skin and snipped the tip of her chin in searing pain. She had never before seen such a foolishly valiant move.
Saiah’s sway back prevented her blade from carving through with proper force. It made a nasty wound in the Jedi’s left shoulder, but did not sever the collarbone. Saiah rolled off her opponent and up to a standing position, her blade pointed at her prone foe.
