Heart of Darkness

"Like you care." She replied coldly. Scooping up the rucksack off the floor she shoved the holocam inside. The gemini droid followed suit.

"Only way I get blown is if she gets word out."

"Every secret has a shelf life, Anaya. Your no-name acolyte persona gets past me while she goes down, there will be some level of scrutiny. Why do you want her burned? What's the timing here?" She smiled faintly, head tilting slightly. "But I'll take care of that, regardless. Get of Korriban while you can. I'm due to check in, and my first checkin has to be the final line."

She cast a final glance at [member="Reine Bisset"], shook her head. "Anyways. I'll burn her in my time in my way. Good luck out there, Anaya, and I mean it. Enemy of my enemy never works out well in the long run, but in the short run, I'm capable of lending a hand."

She bailed, then, picked up the sniper rifle, looped it over her shoulder again, and vanished into a Korriban night.

Reine helped the crew get the packing complete in the meantime and got things sorted out. One or two last shots of the tomb and a few more commentary snippets from her for the show and the shooting was done.

She helped move a few crates outside and organized getting them ready to move. It didn't take too long, thankfully. It wasn't as if they'd brought a huge amount of gear. It was only enough to do the shoot and get out with minimal delays.

As the crews moved the last of the equipment into the open and started gearing up to leave, the Miralukan pulled her journal out with her writings so far for the trip. She flipped it open to the last page and pulled out her pen. After a few moments of thought, she scribbled a quick note into the last of her notes and let out a tired sigh before heading over to the milling group, book in hand.

So there he knelt as Ashin and 'Eleena' had this little talk about Reine that kept getting more and more tense as the seconds ticked on. He was here as the sound engineer, and now that the sound recording was over, he'd been continuing the ruse of just being an average, everyday civillian doing yet another job for another paying customer. His own reasons for being here on Korriban were simple just the same, but he was never one to let oppertunity pass him by, no matter how small it may be. He wore simple garb, a pair of cargo pants and a black track jacket over a t-shirt, and a ball-cap style hat witht he brim low on his brow. He'd been quite attentive to masking his Force signiture to pass himself off thus. As he finished putting the sound gear away in it's respective bags and cases, he noted Ashin's uneasy feeling. As 'Eleena' kept talking with Ashin, and Ashin revealing more and more in front of Reine, he couldn't help but smile a bit as he stood up, chuckling just a bit as events continue to unfold. Perhaps a sliver of his concentration fatlered, if for but a split second. Yet, still, only a sliver.

Looking over to Reine, he spoke quietly as he zipped the last bag closed, setting it down. "Look's like we're all packed. I have a feeling that things are coming to a head in here, real quick-like..."

"I doubt it," Reine said with a mild shrug as she put her journal back in the satchel and grabbed a canvas bundle. She tossed the item over her shoulder and started heading out with the other crew towards the mouth of the valley. "They seemed to know each other, and on civil terms at the very least. This type of expedition isn't happening again, though. You can guarantee that all of us are on databases after this. Damn that woman!"

Reine spat in the dust and sand and started walking faster and away. Her anger was getting the better of her, but she kept it in control. The Jedi, Varanin if she heard the Twi'lek correctly, would file a report most likely. At the very least, she'd remember Reine. It wasn't like you ran into a tall, redheaded Miralukan every day. She'd have to be more careful and tread lightly, very lightly.

The expedition failed to get her what she wanted. She had wanted the instructions, the teachings, of how to conjure Sith magicks or to learn darkside powers. None were found, nothing had been there. She did, however, have the names of the two spells shown. She'd have to hit the black market again. She'd do it differently, though. A different name, different credit accounts, different everything. There was always something to be found on the black market. She'd get what she wanted. She just had to be patient.

"You ought to keep an ear to the ground, darlin'. The way those two are going on, I think you'll be lucky to get off this rock with your skin still intact."

The Force was a wonderful thing, a powerful tool and more powerful ally than most could imagine. Still though, he didn't really want to get sucked into this conflict, but he was more than ready for it should it occur. All a part of playing the game. Dangerous, this game, yet still just a game.

"I think we'll be fine today," she answered over her shoulder. "It's the next planet I'm concerned about. We got lucky today. Nothing more, nothing less. Anyways, you'll get your pay in the next few days, no more than a week."

With that, they crested the top of the valley's entrance. The Miralukan took one last look at the valley below and turned away. She had her goals, her steps, and her methods planned out, for the most part. All she needed was a route. Perhaps the black market would hold a path for the plan.

For now, though, the spaceport and the task ahead waited for her.
