"Agreed, it would certainly be disappointing for all of her assets to go to waste, especially while still in her control."

Of course, Jacob had plans to deal with Lillian at some point. Chipping away at her power base until it eventually crumbled from underneath her. But it was never that high on his priority list, despite how annoying the ambushes had been in the past.

Here and now though, was an opportunity to fast track that and potentially remove a thorn a lot sooner than he had ever intended. He'd be a fool if he passed it up.

"I shall take you up on that offer, Miss Teheron. I will hire your mercenaries."

There was one question that lingered in Jacob's mind, but he left it unspoken.

After all, if they were truly the best mercenaries in the galaxy, they'll be soon proving it.

“Delightful.” Though if her flat features were anything to go by, Miss Teheron had likely never experienced that particular emotion in her life. (Or any other, for that matter.)

“We shall follow up on the intel gained today and contact you when we have a sufficient lead.” Mid-click, her fingers paused above the holokeys. “Given the nature of the situation, this shouldn’t take any longer than a standard week.”

“Do try not to get yourself killed until then, Mr. Crawford. Pleasure doing business with you.”

Erida didn’t offer a hand. She just opened the doors.
