Hello everyone,
I have been lurking around this site for awhile now and have finally gathered enough courage to try to join in. I have never done forum role-play before outside of a very limited number of things done with a friend years ago. I am, however, generally aware of the principles of how this site handles role-playing having read numerous threads and guides on the site to learn how things work. I have also done some limited in-person role-play so the concept is not entirely alien to me. I have also read the rules and additionally hope to uphold Wheaton's Law in all things. Feel free to call me Roy or refer to me by my character, or whatever you like, I suspect I will mostly use my character sub-account for my OOC stuff as I will probably get lazy and not want to keep switching but who knows.
To let any interested people know a little about me, I am a university student in Australia and a colossal Star Wars and general sci-fi/fantasy fan. Hopefully living in Australia does not cause me or anyone else too many problems with the time zone differences but hey, that's a problem for the future.
Given my hesitation and general anxiety about getting into something like this, I would also like to thank the writers of Darth Carnifex, Thurion Heavenshield, Théodred Heavenshield, Taeli Raaf, and Natasi Fortan for inspiring me with their characters and stories to pursue creative writing and get over the anxiety that has prevented me from joining sooner. I hope one day to begin to even compare to these writers as well as the many others on this site whose names escape me. I would also just like to thank this whole community for simply existing and giving me the opportunity to shamble and waffle about in the world of Star Wars while trying to improve my mediocre creative writing skills.
Now, with that out of the way, I have a character set up which I will post shortly, but before I do, I have some role-play related questions that I would be very grateful if someone could help me with.

In regards to rank titles once I have fifty posts, if my character is a force user but is unaware of their powers and does not use them am I required to have a force rank title? Or can I simply choose what I wish?Could someone give me a brief rundown of the One Sith and First Order factions and what they are like on the board, or let me know who I should ask.Is anyone doing things with the Hapes Consortium or general Hapan stuff? I intend to have my character and his family be distant cousins/relatives of the Royal family but wanted to check before diving right in with that in case it would be considered poor form by anyone who actually had been doing things with the Hapan Royal Family before I turned up.
