The second E-Web’s gunner focused on her the moment her boots hit the wooden structure, sending a flurry of bolts her way. The red blades of her lightsabers became a blur as the apprentice did everything possible to deflect as many of the bolts as possible while she began to move forward. Deflected beams of light were sent in all directions, some finding their in the bodies of the pirates unfortunate enough to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Two unlucky individuals near the gunner were subject to this treatment, and it wasn’t long until the gunner himself had eaten a few blaster bolts, leaving him dead on the ground.

For just a moment, the upper balcony was silent. Xobos took the opportunity of not being shot at to slice the barrels of both the heavy blasters in half, rendering them useless. It was during this that an explosion rocked underneath her feet, feeling as though it may collapse the flimsy structure for moment before everything stabilized. Shuffling over to the balcony barrier overlooking the courtyard quickly, she watched as her troops streamed in, kicking off the next phase of the battle. Giving a small nod of approval, Xobos took a moment to roll the options of her next move over in her mind. Both of the balcony’s walkways reached around the courtyard, ending in what looked to be the an overseers office of some sort opposite of where Xobos was standing. Clearing that out seemed like the next most logical idea.

Since neither walkway held any significance over the other, Xobos took a step back before propelling herself into the air, landing on the left walkway right behind one of the pirates firing down into the courtyard. Having a sith land right behind him gave him quite a start, causing him to fall over the railing and down to the courtyard below without the apprentice even having to lift a finger. A small smirk peaked at the edge of her lips, as well as a chuckle rumbling through her mind as lagos spoke. “Coward. Couldn’t even stand up in the face of the faceless.” Words in reference to her mask, causing Xobos to let out a small chuckle of her own as she turned to the rest of the pirates on the balcony, now thoroughly shaken at seeing their buddy taken out with just a look.

A spin of her blades, and a small growl of primal rage, and Xobos surged forward, intent on clearing this walkway as quickly as possible, to see what laid in the office as hers to take.

Luna watched from a few meters away as the fish woman pulled herself up and onto the rocky surface for a momentary lapse. She allowed the woman to take all the time she needed to fully compose herself, soak up some much needed sun, before watching her dive back into the water. After seeing this, the general walked closer to the edge of the island, setting out a towel before sitting on it facing the ocean. Every so often she’d catch glimpses of Damsy doing flips or enjoying herself in the water. This truly was the woman’s natural element.

She winced lightly at the thought, knowing what had happened on Mustufar. If Luna had known what the mission was going to be going in, she would have asked to hold out the more aquatic based members of Dauntless. There had been many dehydration events while on the surface, and while that was a good thing to show the general they needed to do more training like that in extreme environments, she couldn’t help but feel like the whole thing had been a waste and had done more harm than good to many of the commandos.

Few, however, had been hit as hard as the woman that Luna now watched. So when the opportunity for some of the commandos to take shore leave popped up on her radar, and knowing the planet that they would be going to, she recommended that Damsy take up the offer. She was glad the woman did. Luna had taken the opportunity herself to take a few hours away from the new duties that being a general, and equivalent of high marshal, brought down on her head. This was her first chance to catch up with Damsy and see how she was doing since coming planet side though. Whenever the woman decided to come on shore again, Luna would talk to her, but for now, the redhead allowed her to take as much time in the sea as she needed to work through her issues.

Red gunned down another pirate. The courtyard fight was going good for their forces. The pirate numbers were thinning, and they were starting to regain control of the courtyard. Red dodged a stream of blaster fire, and turned to the right and aimed a pistol. He fired on a pirate, and the pirate dropped dead. Red looked up at the walkway above the courtyard, and saw [member="Xobos Yakieer"] scare a pirate off of the platform. Red walked over to the pirate and looked up. Re then pointed his pistol down and fired without looking at the pirate on the ground. Once the pirate was dead, Red motioned two of his commando droid squad over.

"We're going up to help. Follow me." He told the two commando droids. They nodded.

Red aimed his wrist gauntlet up at the walkway and fired a grapple up onto the platform. The commando droids did the same, but with their guns. They started rappelling up to the walkway. A blaster bolt hit the wall close to Red, but he kept on going. Red reached the walkway and pulled himself up. He detached his grapple and stood up. The commando droids soon followed him up.

Red saw the other pirates up on the balcony.

"Weapons-free! Neutralize all targets. Watch for friendly fire" Red ordered to the commando droids as he raised his own weapon.

Then, both commando droids and Red started firing on the pirates on the walkway, assisting [member="Xobos Yakieer"] in taking down the pirates on the balcony.

The surface broke and up came the Sithspawn.

After smoothing back her hair and shaking the excess beads of water from her face, the feather touch of another's eyes on her back finally made her twirl towards the shore. Even with her contacts in, specially designed to help her see on land under normal light conditions when she took off her helmet's visor, she could only make out a green, person-sized blotch on the beach's golden specked backdrop. But Damsy was only confused for a moment until her eyes caught a vibrant shade of red in the figure's head region.

Only one possibility now.

She stuck to the surface, making good but - for her - leisurely time with a combination of breaststrokes and tail pushes towards to shore. She detoured, though, pulling herself into a small cave eroded into the side of a headland cliff. Over the next few minutes, Damsy underwent metamorphosis, changed back into her off-duty clothes, and headed out of the arch to join the general. As always, turning from one form into the other was less than her idea of fun, and though it had not grown less painful of a process, she had learned how to better grit her teeth and bear it every time.

Now, her exposed skin burned slightly now under the sun, raw from shedding the extra skin she had grown an hour ago, but at least her nape was soothed by the water ringing out of her half-up hair. She sloughed some dark blue blubber off of her upper arm with her hand, but smiled brightly as she approached Luna. "General. Water's real nice today."

Luna watched as the woman turned around, starting to leisurely head back toward the shore, smiling lightly to herself as she knew that Damsy probably wasn’t going at her fastest pace. It was alright. There was no hurry, and they both were taking a day off. A few extra minutes wait to talk to the sithling wouldn’t be any bother to the general. But then, Damsy swam off to what Luna could only assume was a small cave.

A few more minutes later, and she watched as the woman that had emerged walked to the general in a changed form, wearing off duty clothes. The general worked hard to make sure her borw didn’t furrow much, or express change to anything but a soft smile. Still, she wondered why Damsy felt the need to change while in the general’s vicinity. Something to possibly ask about later.

Still, as the woman walked up to Luna, she gave her that soft smile, along with a small nod at the statement. “It looks like it. You seemingly enjoyed it quite a lot.” Her eyes turned to the water, watching it hit against the rocks of the small island for a few moments before speaking once again, keeping her eyes on the water. “Are you..feeling rejuvenated by taking this day off?” The redhead turned to look at the dark skinned woman, soft smile still lightly on her face.

Damsy first set her jaw and looking off, but then swept back the bangs that had blown out from behind her ear in the seaward breeze, looked back to the redhead, and forced a small smile. She did enjoy it. The question was if she enjoyed being with the fishies more than her Dauntless siblings.

Truth be told, she didn't rightly know. Before Mustafar, the answer was a resounding no, but now? Now, it was an amorphous word. More than likely, it was still no, but obscured by the failure that had come like a searing hot bolt to both her knees.

What good was a soul willing to serve if it's body lacked the proper means?

"Can't seem to soak up 'nuff water after that SNAFU," was her slow reply. She was still trying to play off Mustafar, but the reality was that the mission hadn't been entirely normal even for the less hydro-dependent commandos. "You know the one.

"How 'bout you?" she continued. "Didn't think you'd be able to free yourself from the backlog of paperwork." A more genuine smile broke across her face.

The dune buggy that she had observed seemed to have opened up a can of whoop ass on somebody.

Taking another sip of the flask that she'd recovered from one of the unconscious pirates that were piled up around her, the old Jedi eased herself back until she was sitting against a piece of wreckage.

From this vantage point, it was a hell of a light show. Fireworks. The whole nine yards. And for what? She still had no idea?

Turning her head down, the elderly woman saw that some of the pirates that she'd stumbled across had been carrying pouches of some kind. Extending out a hand, the silver haired matriarch called one of the pouches to her through the Force.

Flipping open pouch, she was greeted by the sight of crystals of some kind. That would make this, what? A smuggling operation? Some kind of illegal mining?

Setting the pouch aside, the woman let out a sight. Another swig of the flask as she listened to the sound of blaster bolts and thought, this is not the vacation that I signed up for.

That's what she got for taking timeshare advice from a Hutt crime lord.

She really needed better friends.

The mention of missions past caused Luna to look forward once again, her smile pulling into a tight, straight line as she pondered the words. The whole thing wasn’t here idea, and she had to pull the legions out early. While the warmaster did seem unhappy with the decision, Luna knew she had no choice. The legion was not even close to full strength at the time, and soon changes would be coming to how they recruited and created the commandos which meant that resupplying would become much easier and quicker. But when they went down to that planet, it only illustrated how thin and ragged the commandos that were already a part of the force were. Luna took a few more moments to contemplate her answer before response with a soft, “yah..yah I know the one, Damsy.”

Luna couldn’t help but laugh softly at the comment about her paperwork, giving a little shrug to the dark skinned woman as she turned to face her once again. “Well…there are benefits to becoming a general. You can choose your own breaks a little bit.” Chuckling lightly, she looked up to Damsy’s face and motioned for her to sit. “C’mon, sit down. I won’t have you standing at attention when it’s just the two of us, y’know.” There were things that needed to be talked through, but it was better if the whole thing was done in a comfortable and calm situation.

Despite herself, Krystal found her smile growing genuine as she looked over her date. He seemed sweet enough, and damn if he wasn't good looking. Looking down at the glass he pushed towards her, she took a sip... and nearly coughed it right out. That burned! Trying to delicately clear her throat, she looked over at her date and really hoped he wasn't laughing at her too much. She pointedly set the glass down on the counter and did not make for it again.

Flashing a sheepish smile, she tried to take control of the conversation. “I’m Krystal. From… well, from nowhere in particular, but right now I’m from the Confederacy.

Have you always been on Alakatha?” Krystal didn’t know much about the local population -- she figured that they all worked in tourism, as Alakatha really didn’t offer much else. Well, aside from pirates now.

Damsy sunk into the sand. "Don't mean to make you uncomfortable...Luna?" In addressing her like that, she looked uncomfortable herself. She was used to referring to those higher than her in the Legion by rank, but that seemed a little unnecessary under the current circumstances.

"One of the newbies," she added eventually, after looking out into the horizon shading her eyes with a hand, "Mingan, and David from Lieutenant Reinhart's squad both helped me out on the Mustafar trek. Not tellin' you to give them a commendation or anything, but just thought you should know." Glancing over at Luna, Damsy tried to smile. It came out lopsided and tight-lipped.

A slash downward, then a quick stab with both her blades, and another pirate had fallen to the apprentice. Just as she looked up to continue hunting down what was rapidly approaching the be the last of the holdouts of this tiny base, she watched the sergeant and a pair of his troopers rappel onto the balcony and begin firing toward the pirates. Xobos gave a roll of her shoulders as she proceeded down the balcony, now almost lazily blocking any bolts that got through. In the back of her mind, she knew that sergeant was just doing his job and helping her clear this structure, but she did tell him to lead the ground assault and leave the upstairs to her.

“It’s almost like he doesn’t trust you.” “Or he wanted the glory for himself.” The voices played at her mind, causing the apprentice to have to mentally attempt to shrug them off. There would be time for this sort of thing to be cleared up afterword. For now, she just wanted to finish clearing this base to get the crystals. Doing so would mean the last few pirates would need to be cleaned up quickly. To that end, the apprentice took a few steps forward before launching herself over the heads of the troopers and the sergeant, avoiding any of their fire downrange as she landed, and began cutting through the last of the resistance.

A downward slash here, a few blocked shots there, and a decapitated pair of pirates who were dumb enough to stand so close together, and the courtyard had gone quiet. No more sounds of blasters firing save for a few isolated ones as the troops cleaned up the rest of the mess. Xobos slowly stood from her knelt position, deactivating the pair of lightsabers she held and slipped them back into her cloak as she proceeded over to the office. With a wave of her gloved hand, the door practically shot backwards, illuminating the darkness that was inside.

Taking a few steps forward, she was pleasantly surprised to see boxes upon boxes of the crystals stowed away in the wooden office, practically overflowing with the amount of them. She smirked lightly, walking over to one partially open box, proceeding to take a few and place them within the confines of her cloak. Knowing the sergeant would be more than likely following her in here, she called out to the man, still focusing on the crystals and not turning back to the open doorway. “Sergeant, inform command the base it back in our hands and the crystals are secure, if you wouldn’t mind.” The crystals now in her cloak would make excellent additions to her blades. Apparently they boosted a stealth users ability to connect with that side of the force. Quite neat, if you asked her.

She was just like her mother.

It did not take much to see just how well the costume party had gone. Simply mentioning the event had caused crimson to adorn his daughter's cheeks. For Isley, this was something that he experienced only in passing. Whenever he spied [member="Safira Varad"] chatting away with [member="Nya"] about their date nights, the same expression and the same blush would appear on her cheeks. To see it manifest in real time, on his child's expression no less? It caused the Mandalorian to chuckle slightly before raising his beverage to his lips.

The cool liquid surely took the edge off of the afternoon heat - and gave the Mandalorian an opportunity to chew over what he would say. By the time his pineapple settled upon the counter, Isley had decided on a more direct approach. "So." he began, punctuating his utterance with a satisfied exhale. "What's his name?"

And all at once, they were surrounded.

Captain Karen Alice smiled to herself as the shields on her ships dropped in coordination. Though not a large fleet, her three ships were each positioned around the ship that had been transmitting the distress signal. This transport was surely laden with enough riches to let them slip back into hiding for at least another few months, while word of their prowess could spread through Alakatha and the galaxy at large. The poor distressed transport would not even stand a chance.

"Engage and be quick."

She considered for a moment before adding an afterthought.

"Make sure to leave one of them alive, to tell the story."

"My Queen, hostile vessel has appeared on screen and has a target lock on the Confederate vessel."

Lahmia hissed as her lips pulled up at the corners. "Come about. Present our starboard side to our foe. Load Assault and Heavy Torpedoes." The red woman rose from her throne and strode down the length of the bridge to watch and follow their prey out the transparisteel window. "Align cannons with their vessel, yet never lock targets. Hast our gunners demonstrate their quality." The pirates wouldn't see the Winter's Kiss coming until the ordinance was already out of their launchers. By then the torpedoes would already have a lock and unless they were as quick as a Rabbinian rabbit even their cloak wouldn't spare them the brunt of the assault.

T'would be a shame if any allied vessel heedlessly got between a huntress and her prey. Only the most foolish or daring would ignore the torpedoes once away.

With the beacon now pinging its false distress, it likely wouldn’t be long before the pirates would sprawl out and into action. After all, unless these were pirates. They weren’t known for being overly intelligent, nor well organized. No overwhelming array or firepower, nor significant political influence. What they were known for, however, was their ingenuity and resourcefulness. Their ability to persist even in the face of utter abolishment. Lawless criminals, and lawlessness would not be allowed to purvey. After all, that was exactly why the Alakatha government had reached out to them right? To restore order.

Sensor pinged with a flash and audible alarm as a handful of vessels appeared within the fields of debris and rock this group of renegades had come to call home. An event which triggered the officer to alert Alden of a particular change in circumstances here. “Sir, three vessels have emerged from the asteroid field. Awaiting your orders.”

A smile etched its way across the High Marshal’s face seeing the situation was soon to come to an end and peacing restored here. His head cocked back and he began voicing his next orders to his crew. “Lock port side batteries on the lead vessel and prepare to engage.” Alden wasn’t so concerned with strategic actions and fall back plans. This was a disorganized group that was heavily out-manned and out-gunned. A group that would soon find themselves surrounded with no escape. “Launch fighters and have them swing around to intercept any attempt to retreat.” He then turned to his communications officer as the operations officers began relaying the commands to the various divisions around the ship. “Open a comlink on all civilian frequencies."

Instantly, the officer thumbed in a few commands, locking eyes and offering a nod of his head to affirm the channel was now open.

“Attention unidentified vessel. This in High Marshal Akaran of the Confederate Defense Force,” he began. “You are ordered to stand down and surrender. Cease your operations, you are outnumbered and outgunned.” He paused briefly. “By now you will notice you are surrounded and your retreat has been cut off. Failure to comply with these instructions is ill-advised.”

Kurenai remained on the flag ship, looking out over the empty space as the battle reached it's beginning. Though she was not stranger to flying and a decent dog fighter such was not her specialty, covert ops and front line infrantry fighting was her relm of expertise. That being said, if the pirates attempted any boarding action they would be walking straight into a lions den, but the chances of that were slim, she doubted the CIS captains would even let those raiders get close let alone launch boarding parties. "I should have brought popcorn, this will be quite the fireworks display", she had a feeling the merc ship lending a hand would be quite ready to show off some big explosions.

Out of the CNV Dias, she made a hard right upturn, feeling the g-forces pull at her body and were soon followed by Horizon Two. Ok, this seemed to work...two Centurions paving way for her through the thick of jungle. It weren't so bad. But what was all that POP and crackle all about? The droids indicated there were batteries and blaster fire at 3 kilometer distant.
Karlie then did a quick check on her armor and side arm. All in place.
She gave the go ahead to head in that direction.
"Maintain a fix on ground zero and alert me if anyone picks up any significant life form..preferably humanoid or the like.." Meaning intelligent non-human life forms.

As they trekked further and further through the jungle and closer and closer to the battle or whatever it were, Karlie could see some sort of clearing up ahead. Well, when she were able to peek from behind her two forward Centurions.
YES, it were a clearing. "Ease up...Stalk-" She were about to tell them to go into stalk mode, but they already had slowed down and were being as quiet as they could, avoiding stepping on dry foliage and sticks...slowly parting from one another..fanning out.

"Grrr..." Karlie grit her teeth. She were once more faced with navigating through thickets and brush as the fourth wing.
But she had to shake her phobia off as best she could and bear it. This were no controlled exercise. this was real.
Her droids had fanned out so as not all could easily be spotted or their numbers known. Karlie had a fix on all three through her wrist com. it silently displayed their coordinates with her at the moment being the center. Ok, so she were like 6 o'clock to them all. It weren't that she were cowering behind, no. it was the freakin jungle. She couldn't move as quickly and as quiet as they did. Not with having to shoo or swipe at a biting insect every other step.

It were the conditioner she used. Damn coconut strawberry silk conditioner! It were attracting flies like she were a walking open fruit bar. Thank heavens she were in armor and it were just her head she were defending. Still, it did impede her to lag a bit behind as they neared the clearing.
But what was this? She slowly came up to one of the droids who had stopped advancing and seemed to be waiting for her.
"What's up..anything up ahead?" She quietly asked as she nodded in the direction of the clearing up ahead.
The sound of laser fire and explosions were still like a kilometer distant.

"Numerous humanoid life forms 90 meters ahead" The Centurion responded in a lower tone.

"Oh?..how many are securing their perimeter?" It were a good tactical question..how many sentries were on guard.

"Current scans indicate one."

"Only one?...You just said several!" Karlie corrected it.

"One conscious, the remaining others appear to be in comatose stasis or lifeless ."

"Uhm...Ok..." What the frak was comatose statis?..unconscious?

"The one that is conscious...friendly?"

"Unable to determine, for subject is seated and is of an elderly human female"

"You mean an old lady?... you sure she's the one breathing?"

"Affirmative."

Karlie tried to peer through the thicket but she were still 90 meters away and much foliage was obstructing her view. But the Centurion had pointed out the elderly's directional location. Karlie could barely make out any parts of the figure. She motioned for them to sit still as she tip-toed a bit closer gritting her teeth more as the flying gnats and fruit flies buzzed about her sweet smelling hair.

She couldn't go any further without exposing herself if that person happened to turn and look in her direction. There were only small short ferns between Karlie and the obstructed figure as the palm tress had greatly thinned out near the clearing. She could make out some of the conscious and OMG..was that a limb?!!
Karlie froze in her tracks, slowly...slowly drawing out her side arm.
It were then that her peripheral caught sight of one of the other centurion. It had it's weapon bearing down toward the figure.

"Sigh..." Karlie took a deep breath, giving the raised fist for hold to her Centurions, as she came out of the clearing.

"DON'T MOVE...Don't breathe!..." Shoot, that sounded so cliche' of her.
"Aherm.." She cleared her throat and went about sounding like she were one hell of a tough chick.
"OK...
Breathe if you have to, but don't MOVE!" she had her side arm pointed 45 meters to what indeed looked like gray hair... a perm no less.

Karlie were a good shot... damn dead on at 25 meters...most times. But whoever this old lady was, certainly wouldn't know it. Of course, the old lady had her back to her, so the blonde didn't even come close to even guessing as to whom she had her sights on.
