skin, bone, and arrogance
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Herevan Hold - the rebuilt estate belonging to the Fortan family is located in the far outskirts of the village. Over a decade ago, the original stately home was destroyed in a fire. In recent years, it was rebuilt to a very nearly exact replication, brought up to date with modern conveniences, security, and -- crucially -- fire suppression systems.
SECURITY
Medium - the village doesn't have any specific security hardpoints, relying upon planetary defense emplacements and local security to address any security concerns.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The village has its roots in the Plague Years. Following the elevation of the Fortan family to become Earls of Herevan, they were granted land constituting the County of Herevan. The village grew up as demand for labor increased in the area. Herevan became a breadbasket for Galidraan's growing population, with farmers and laborers coming to the village. As more farmers and laborers came, others came to support them -- wives and children, teachers, shopkeepers, outfitters, mechanics, etc. As industry expanded, with sustainable logging and mining taking root in Herevan, the village continued to grow. Herevan has become something of a household name in some First Order and Galidraani households due to the fame (or infamy) of Herevan's most famous export, Natasi Fortan.

- City Name: Herevan (pronunciation: HAIR-uh-van)
- Classification: Quaint Galidraani village
- Location: Galidraan
- Affiliation: George Vitalis, the Fortan Family, The Sith Empire
- Population: Moderate
- Demographics: 90% Galidraani humans, 10% assorted immigrant aliens - traditional Galidraani mores of distrust for outsiders prevail, making origin more relevant to one's 'being welcome' than race, class, or species
- Wealth: Medium - Like most places on Galidraan, society is stratified among class lines (although, in village life, the lines are far less rigid than in, say, Calavar), and there are outliers on either side, although minimum wages and other progressive measures have more or less eradicated true poverty in Herevan. Working- and middle-class people mingle with wealthier property holders in the town, with the spectacular wealth and splendor of the Fortan family seat, Herevan Hold, in the far reaches of the town. Taken together, there is a medium level of wealth.
- Stability: High - Galidraanis don't make a fuss, traditionally, and criminal elements are shunned by the townsfolk. Visitors and new residents are treated with suspicion veiled by courtesy. The village itself is built on land owned by the Fortan family, which places responsibility for law and order with the Earl of Herevan, George Vitalis (or, more accurately, Thaddeus Vitalis, his current legal guardian). Police are supplemented with security personnel from the local community, providing additional employment in the village while also bolstering security.
- Freedom & Oppression: As part of the Sith Empire, Herevan is not as free as it once was. Prior to the annexation, the area was ruled by the liberal Fortan family, with the former Earl of Herevan, Frejrik Fortan, favoring openness and freedom to oppression. Besides, being full of Galidraani, there is a great deal of socially-imposed repression keeping behaviors generally within the norm and keeping people from making a fuss.
- Description: The village takes up most of the inhabited land of the County of Herevan, with large farming estates dotted beyond its outskirts. Apart from the river that runs through the center of the County and the village, providing the lifeblood of the County, the area features broad grasslands that have been converted to farming and large, ancient forests. Outside the outskirts of the village, perched on a ridge outside of but overlooking the county, is the Herevan Ridge Academy. Dominating the landscape -- physical and social -- is Herevan Hold, the sprawling country seat of the Fortan family, straddling the river near where it feeds into the canal where it leads into the neighboring duchy of Foxfield.
