"We lost our first child to these people," the woman clarified with a pained expression. "To this day, we don't know what happened to her." Valery frowned and Vera seemed saddened too, but Yvaine did not want to linger on something that happened a long time ago.

Kahlil then picked up Valery, who blinked and did nothing to resist as he set her down. Yvaine just smiled at the loving display and nodded in agreement. "I don't think I'll ever be able to forgive those people, but it was wrong to blame you. Your daughter showed me what you did for our people. Thank you, and I hope you can forgive me."

"She did what?" Valery blinked and looked at Vera for answers. "Vision! I showed her!" Vera giggled.

"Oh, baby..." Valery felt her eyes tear up, and walked over to hug her daughter and kiss her forehead. "You didn't have to do that."

"I want you to be happy, mommy." Vera smiled and glanced back at Yvaine, who finally held out the book she had with her. Valery was a little overwhelmed with joy, and looked at the offered book, before taking it. "I collected every picture of your parents and sister that I could find. They're all in there."

Valery began to look through them and smiled softly before looking up at her husband. "I look just like my mom, hm?" she chuckled and stepped into him a little.

A vision?

Oh dear. Concern filled his expression as he glanced to Valery. Did that mean Vera saw it all? His emotions, her emotions. The threat they both felt to break the rules they were supposed to follow as Jedi. The blurring of those lines. It wasn't his proudest moment.

Not that he wouldn't do it again.

But it seemed Vera was treating it like a good thing. He wasn't sure if he felt the same, but it was good to know she wasn't scared. He turned his gaze to the book shortly after, nodding his head in agreement.

"You do, love."

Valery closed the book after a moment longer of looking at the pictures, and turned her fiery eyes to Yvaine. "Thank you, this really means a lot to me," she said while she reached for Kahlil's hand to gently squeeze it. There was likely no way to learn more about her parents and sister, but they would now forever be a part of her.

Just like how she wanted to always be a part of husband and daughter's lives.

"Now that we've seen my hometown and the Faedra, why don't we visit the capital city? I want to show you two a few things there." She looked at her family, and Vera already seemed excited. But then again, she loved doing anything with her parents.

"We'll take the Bastion, eat something and rest up a little too. It's late." She turned her gaze to Kahlil and winked. She wanted to do a little more than just sleeping after everything. There was too much tension after their moments on the back of the Ayda and the sweet comments he made.

"Okay!" Vera called out with a grin.

"Maybe we uh, should also talk about that vision with Vera?" She asked Kahlil.

Kahlil raised a brow curiously, then glanced to Vera. And chuckled.

At this rate, Vera's vision was going to be sooner rather than later with the triplets.

"It might be a good idea, though for some reason I get the feeling she already understands more than we'd end up explaining. We made quite the smart girl, didn't we?" He flashed a smile before reaching out to pull Valery into a brief hug. Kiss her forehead. Something brief before he slipped his hand into hers to start bringing her to the Bastion.

"C'mon Vera! We've got lots of places still to see."

Valery saw his eyebrows rising a little and just looked at him with an innocent smile. The kind that wasn't innocent at all, and let him know she knew what he was thinking. Vera's vision had predicted something for their future, so why not make sure that it comes true and have a little fun at the same time?

After everything today, she also felt just a bit needy for his attention.

Her eyes then shifted down to Vera, and she nodded. "Yeah, I suppose you're right. She's a special little- hey!" Valery blinked as he pulled her into a hug she didn't expect and blushed when he kissed her forehead. Vera just stared up at her parents, clearly a little jealous her mom was getting attention now, but something about their little star's eyes made it clear she understood.

Mom had gone through a lot today.

Once they separated, Valery took his hand and looked back at Vera, who jumped up when her dad talked about sightseeing some more. "Yay! Let's goo!" she yelled before leading them back to the Bastion.

After an eventful night, Valery and Kahlil found themselves back inside the cockpit with their little star. As always, she was glued to the windows as they flew at low altitude through the valley. It seemed strange that the capital city wasn't in a far more populated part of the world, but the simple fact was that Keshi wasn't all that densely populated.

Soon enough, as they followed the curves of a river, a castle-like city appeared in the distance, built up against the side of a tall mountain. Even Valery hadn't quite seen anything like it before and stared at it with widened eyes.

"Woaaaah!" Vera exclaimed before looking at her parents. "It's so cool!"

Valery chuckled and turned her fiery gaze to her husband. "Seems like we have a lot to explore, huh?"

Kahlil_Div2.png

Kahlil leaned down to peer through the viewport, just beside Valery. And smiled. This was very different from what he'd expected, after the first little town they'd gone to. The Keshain weren't a simple people in the slightest, were they? He squeezed her shoulder briefly before glancing towards Vera with a wide grin.

"We do have quite a bit to explore, little star. You excited?"

When she felt his hand settle on her shoulder to gently squeeze it, Valery looked up and offered a warm smile. She was excited to be here after never even thinking about this planet, and it showed in the way she smiled. Being able to share this moment with the two most important people in her life only made it even better.

"Mhmm! I wanna go!" Vera yelled excitedly while she bounced up and down in her seat. The city out there was just so beautiful to her with its decorated buildings, large pillars of white stone, and colorful glass. The people all seemed so different from the Keshians they had already met too.

Sophisticated and all of them lived rich lives out here. It wasn't something that really attracted Valery all that much, as she preferred the simpler, quieter life. But it was still something amazing to see and learn about. Her homeworld was rich in culture.

"Ahhh! Look, daddy!" Vera exclaimed while she pointed at a large fountain made of white stone after they had landed and started walking through the city. Water sprayed up and fell down in pretty patterns all around the fountain, and it seemed to keep Vera entertained quite well.

"Well, it seems like one Noble is having a great time." Valery chuckled and took Kahlil's arm while they walked along the street, and watched Vera practically run around to look at everything.

"Hmm, why don't we get lunch at the big town square? Try some of the food and look around?"

Kahlil_Div2.png

"Only one?"

Kahlil raised a brow, glancing down to Valery with a rather smug expression on his face. He was having fun with this all. But was she? The way she spoke certainly didn't make him think as much, but perhaps he was overthinking it. Maybe. The last thing he wanted was for Valery to not enjoy this trip. Not when it was her home they were visiting.

"You think they have a farmers market or such? I'd love the chance to cook with the local produce, y'know?" Cook for them, at that. While he wasn't Keshian, he always loved to cook for them. His smile softened a little as he looked after Vera.

"I'm glad she's able to at least see one of her homeworlds."

Valery looked up to catch his smug look, and offered something between a pout and smirk in return, "Nooo, I'm having an amazing time now, love," she said as she gently squeezed his bicep. "But just look at her excitement... it's really nice to see her like this." Vera was hopping around, giggling, waving at her parents and just having the time of her life on this little family trip.

"This is what I do it all for. To be here with you two and see her this happy."

Her eyes then shifted back to Kahlil, "Oh? You're going to cook us a Keshian dinner, hm?" The idea sounded fantastic. Valery loved to cook but his cooking was the absolute best to her, and Vera likely agreed too. Especially when it came to making pancakes, apparently. "I think they have a little market up ahead at the big city square."

Together, the family walked there and Vera quickly spotted all kinds of little shops and stalls selling Keshian toyd and trinkets. Her eyes turned to her parents with a pleading look, and Valery just laughed. "Pick something out you like. To remember this trip."

"Yay!" Vera squealed and ran straight for the big Ayda plushie she had spotted.

"I'm glad too, but I wonder how it feels to her. To me, when I was her age, the Temple felt like home. She also has us and our home, so I wonder what Keshi feels like to her. If that makes sense?" She asked as they all arrived at the market. To say that the fruits and vegetables looked exotic would be an understatement - they were very colorful and in all kinds of strange shapes.

"Hmmm, this all looks good. Pick whatever you like, babe," she said with a grin.

Kahlil_Div2.png

"I'd like it to feel like home, for her. The Jedi of old had their reasons to keep it to the Temple, and the temple alone, but in this day, with so many threats everywhere, it's important she sees all the worlds in this Galaxy. And that there are different cultures to celebrate. Where better than here to start?"

Kahlil flashed a smile before glancing around the market. Really looking around. He'd strike up brief conversations with merchants, ever curious on what recipes they had to offer and what worked best for the local cuisine. It wasn't the first time, actually. His time as a spacer had him striking up those conversations with just about anyone to figure out dinner for the night.

"I want her to feel like the Galaxy itself is her home."

"That's... what I'd really like, too," Valery said with a bright, loving smile. He was able to put it into words far better than she could, and it really made her realize just how much things have changed for the Jedi. "She's such a happy little kid and easily makes friends with anybody. I think that she'll easily be able to call any place home."

While they talked, their journey through the market continued, and Valery spent a little more time studying her husband. With a smirk, she watched him strike up conversations with merchants. "You always say that she has it from me, but you're pretty social as well if you want to be." She winked and playfully nudged his side. "Especially when it's about food~" she teased, while she held onto his arm and followed along.

"Ahhh! Looook!" Vera squealed as she returned with the big Ayda plushie in her arms. "It's so fluffy!"

Valery's smile brightened once more, and with a gesture of her hand, she asked Vera to come closer. Valery then lifted her up and pulled her into a hug. "Why don't we head back to the ship? We let daddy cook us a Keshian meal and we see if we can watch some local shows on the holo together?"

"Really?! That sounds fun!" Vera nodded and looked at her father.

"What do you say, love? We can walk around more in the next few days. I... just think a little family time like that would be nice."

Kahlil_Div2.png

Kahlil smiled wide as he looked between them both. Very wide. This, this he loved more than anything. Being with his family. He reached out, just plucking them both up in his arms with all the bags of food and a big grin before he laughed and nodded.

"Let's enjoy our vacation to the fullest, as Nobles!"
