Hoth's Quarry

The grey skies cast its veil over the frozen tundra. Hoth was a block of ice that many deserters chose to call home. Anyone that lived in the outer rim were filthy rich criminals, or poor workers with no means to escape their miserable prisons. Kaine is the third option, he was there in search of a dirty criminal that inhabited this wretched planet. Benron, a black market merchant, was a name given to Kaine during his time on Alderaan. He held information regarding Exar Kun's tomb, the Rodian thief snatched a grimoire belonging to Freedon Naad. The contents of this tome were necessary to fuel Kai's thirst for power. The Sith magic and Alchemy in that book could take his craft to frightening new heights.

His feet outline a path in the snow, from the shuttle to the market. A thin dusting coated the terrain as it continued to flurry. The dark brown coat hugged his body, it was equipped with thermal lining that was made to withstand the extreme frigid climate he was soon to endure. A charcoal scarf muffled his breath, that paired with the matching gloves held in his body's warmth. Only his light green eyes were exposed to the crisp air, though this was not their true color. Kai's light aura allowed him to hide his dark alignment from even masters of the force thus changing his eye color to hide their corruption. This was essential while pursing his leads, the last thing he needed was to attract jedi or rival sith. The market was lined with small huts, a bit different from the tents he familiarized himself with on Drumond Kass. These small structures were essential in providing shelter to the harsh climate on Hoth. Goods were displayed behind glass counters made to protect their merchandise. Kai scanned the marketplace, with a description of his target on the forefront of his mind.

"Can I interest you in some food after a long journey?" A short merchant approached Kai as he took in the sight before him. This petite man spoke with confidence, he was obviously from Hoth or at least familiar with it. The trim on his snow suit indicated he was wealthy, which was something that was difficult to obtain in the outer rim. Kai was in the habit of analyzing those around him. He often drew conclusions that allowed him to use people as he saw fit. In this case he would use this powerful man as a resource in finding his target.

"I am looking to purchase a specialty item." Kai replied as his eyes connected with the trader, his reaction and response would let him know if he was capable of helping Kaine.

"Anything from weapons, booze, guards, and vehicles that can be purchased on this tundra, I can offer you." The aura of an over confident man was enough for Kaine to reveal what he needed. This was obviously someone who could point him in the right direction.

" I am looking for a bit of information, a merchant, I was told he sells his goods locally and I can not seem to locate him." Kaine waited to see if there was a retort, which there was none. "His name is Benron." The name and name alone were all this merchant was going to get out of Kai, exposing too much would only exposes a weakness. A concerned look resided on the merchants face, he seemed a bit taken back.

"I know Benron and his crew but-" As an excuse began pouring out of his mouth Kaine waived his hand. The force guided him as the gesture was hardly noticable, his eyes flickered orange, their true hue, before returning to a light emerald. His words accompanied this motion.

"You will tell me where Benron is." The mind trick was enough to pull a response from this weak minded species.

"He set up his shop in a quarry to the north. The community is growing as they begin digging deeper, the supply and demand of goods is ever booming." The extra details on his response proved just how susceptible his mind was to Kai's power.

"You will forget this conversation, and you will forget me." Kaine's words were the law, the merchant returned to his shop as if nothing had happened. Kaine started walking north, towards the mines of Hoth.

Hoth was a miserable planet to be on. The cold could freeze the blood in mere moments, if the proper gear was not used. It's icy landscape spelling doom to any that did not adhere to the warnings from other planetary bodies. The talk of most cities was how Hoth was a deadly and dangerous place. Its creatures, who had adapted to the climate, were ferocious and disturbing. The most notable tale was the Jedi Master Luke Skywalker's time on the planet. His encounter with a Wampa, which killed his Tauntaun and hung the Jedi Master in iced encrusted boots on the ceiling of its lair. Chopping off the creatures arm and running back to the rebels base, soon became legendary. Although he was saved by Han Solo, that did not take away from the story of his escape. Other fearsome creatures included the Dragon Slug, a twenty meter long warm-like creature that could breath fire, and Snow Bears. Finding any one of these monsters was almost certain death.

Jayce landed on this ice ball in search of food and fuel. He would have avoided the planet entirely but the ship was close to being floating debris in space. Following the word of the inhabitants of this dreary planet, he found himself in a quaint little shop thirty meters from the fueling station. It was constructed from an old AT-AT body, head and legs removed and was hollowed out. A heating system was installed to keep the guest warm and cozy. The store sold clothes more suited to the climate outside, food and a room if one wished to stay. One of the merchants asked if the young man would be staying. The cold bit at Jayce and his teeth chattered. He shook his head in disagreement.

"I am only waiting for my ship to be refueled," he said. His teeth making loud chipping noises.

"There's a storm coming. I can feel it in my bones," the old woman behind the counter replied.

Jayce stepped towards the door of the shop. The entrance slid open with a popping sound. Outside, the sky was dark and flurries began to fall to the planet's surface. "Well, I'm not one to ignore advice from wise young ladies." The shop keeper blushed and reserved a room for the Gray Jedi. His credits were running low and it looked like it would soon be time to collect another bounty. "Is there anything note worthy on this planet? Maybe something that could be of interest to a force-user?"

The old woman placed her hand on her mouth, tapping her two fingers against her lips. Her face having a look of incite. "I believe there is a man in the market district that could help you. Dalik runs a counter there. He sells almost anything."

"I thank you for your knowledge," Jayce said as he bowed towards the shop keeper.

"Before you leave. I strongly suggest you take this Icetromper fur jacket and pants. You'll freeze to death in that thin robe."

Jayce looked at his ink-colored robe with silver lining, a gift from his old master. "I do believe you are right but I don't have anymore credits to spend." His face seemed frowning.

"Just bring it back when you are done. It will be our little secret," the shop keeper said. Her face the color of a rose.

The Gray Jedi kissed her hand and proceeded to snatch up the clothes. Even with the heater blasting on his neck, he was blistering from the cold air seeping in.

The Market District
His charcoal boots slugged through the snow. He kept his eyes hidden behind a pair of thick goggles, and his head under a rough furry blanket. The bits of snow flakes slammed into the protective eye equipment. Finally, he made it to the market. He recalled what the shop keeper had said to him before he left. Dalik is a short male, who has a long black mustache. He'll be standing behind a glass case, full of druk usually, but maybe he has what you need. Jayce smiled under the long neck of the Icetromper jacket. In moments he found who he was looking for. In an outhouse looking hut, which provided medium shelter, stood Dalik. Someone was already there, looking over the goods and asking the merchant questions. A lightside aura surrounded this figure. As Jayce got closer, he saw what looked like the figure's hand waving from left to right. To the untrained eye, he would have gotten away with it. Dalik's face went blank and his lips seemed to be spewing information.

Interesting.

"I'll ask you one more time, WHO SENT YOU?"

A punch flew into the left side of Levi's mouth, he tasted metal almost instantly, the hit had drawn blood. "I told you already, I'm alone, no one sent me." He was blindfolded and being interrogated by who he could only guess as one of Benron's men. He hadn't been on this worthless planet, Hoth, for more than an hour, before being attacked and dragged to this location. Levi had come to Hoth in search of a man named Benron, his name was mentioned in the small black book he carried with him everywhere. It was written on the side of the page that described sith alchemy. Levi figured he might be someone who could help him learn further. It appeared though, that he was wrong. He thought back to how this stroke of bad luck had occurred.
***

Levi had been walking through the market district, asking the merchants if they had any information regarding a man named Benron. he had been attacked. Two large men had approached him from behind and kicked away his cane, causing him to lose balance instantly. The rest was simple at that point, they grabbed him off the ground and put a sac over his head and bound his hands, then took him away from the merchant stalls. The merchants must all be in on it, or at least afraid of what would happen if they tried to stop it. Either way, it did him no good to dwell on that now. He had been tossed in the back of a speeder of some sort and driven out of town. They hadn't gone far though, maybe only 15 minutes away from where they at before. When they came to a stop, Levi was once again grabbed, forced to walk forward without being able to see his destination. They stopped on something metal, he heard it clang as their footsteps went over it, then a door closed in front of them. What he heard next, he knew unmistakably was the screech of a mining elevator, it moved slow and as they went down, the smell of the earth overwhelmed his nose. There was no doubt they had gone underground. Levi kept track of which way they turned, in the event he had to escape from this place, he didn't need to get lost in a mine. They stopped after a few minutes of walking and his legs were kicked from behind, he landed face first, unable to catch himself due to his handcuffs.

"We found this one in the market district asking questions about you boss. What do you want us to do with him?"

"Find out what he knows, then leave his body with the rest."

Levi was terrified as the words hit his ears. He needed to find a way out of here, and fast. He was pulled to his feet, only to be forced to walk further in the mine. They stopped after a few more turns and the man behind Levi turned him around and whispered in his ear "I'm going to enjoy this more than you know." Then the man landed a blow to Levi's stomach, causing him to get the wind knocked out of him and fall to his knees. "WHY DID YOU COME HERE, WHO SENT YOU?" The beating began before Levi could even think of answering the question. Multiple punches to his face and stomach kept coming. He has no intention of getting information out of me, he plans to kill me, even if I talk.
***
Levi snapped back to reality as yet another punch hit his sides, he was sure his ribs were severely bruised, if not broke by now, it was getting harder to breath. He had a plan though, he was concentrating on Darkshear, the power to forge spears with dark energies with his mind. He felt one of the spear coming into when a strong blow, seemingly from a boot, hit the side of his head, and he blacked out.

Eran felt a jolt, Levi had passed out from that last blow to his head. He had to take control now to deal with this problem. I figured I'd give him a chance to grow and prove himself in combat for once, so much for that. He assumed control over their body, and started laughing. "You hit like a Gungan." He knew his words would upset the man interrogating him. "Oh, we got a funny guy here, why don't I teach you some manners with this here pipe." Eran heard the man hitting the pipe into his hand, he knew what came next. As the pipe closed the gap towards Eran's head, he heard it whistle in the air as it approached with great speed.

"Why don't I teach you something instead." Eran said, and as he did, the Darkspear that Levi had started was finished and Eran used his mind to shoot it in the man's direction. He heard it hit, a satisfying thrusting noise followed by a gag from his attacker. Eran then used the force to break the cuffs that bound him. He took off his blindfold and scanned the area, they were at the end of a tunnel. He turned to his interrogator, he was on the ground, a gaping wound in his chest from where the Darkspear had hit him. He looked up and Eran grew a smile at seeing the man in such pain. He walked over to him, knelt down and whispered in his ear.

"I'm going to enjoy this more than you know."

The words brought a face of pure fear to the man who had once used them on Levi. Eran stood back up, and unleashed force lightning from his hands. It was followed by the screams of anguish from the man on the ground, Eran laughed and was delighted at the sight of his body writhing in pain. When all the life had left the man's body, he searched him. He had some key's and much to Eran's delight, the cane they had taken from Levi. Knowing full well what it actually was, he was thrilled to see it was safe. Just then an alarm sounded from an intercom system that ran across the ceiling of the mine. A loud sound, similar to a tornado siren blared through all the tunnels. Eran didn't know how they already knew what had happened, until he looked up, there was a camera that caught the whole thing. Eran crushed the camera with the force and then set his eyes ahead, he had to get out before things got worse.

The bottle rolled into the pilot chair with a tiny thud, the constant beeps and pings from the pilot console continued to blink. Another bottle rolled along the metal floor until it tapped Revy in the boot. Hung over the arm of her captain’s chair, her leg swayed back and forth, limp and kicking the second bottle to the side. Slouched and snoring, drool dripped from the small opening of her mouth. Her wine colored hair was long, a considerable mess as it hung passed her shoulders. Revy’s stomach showed, a classic look that many frowned upon. Her black tank top had snacks and cigarettes resting on it, some crushed from her uncomfortable sleeping position; something she wouldn't be happy about. Just as the ship bucked out of hyperspace, Revy snapped upward with a yell.

"Aw, Kark!" Revy looked around, the screens taunting her with information. From the looks of it she had finally arrived in Hoth's orbit. "You've got to be kidding me, where the hell is it!?"

Her messy hair was tangled as she snatched a tie sitting on the arm of her chair. Lifting her tan hand above her head she formed a ponytail. Annoyed that she lost something, Revy slammed her hand onto the metal flap in front of the console. She rarely missed important meetings with her clients, but she had. Revy stood up frantically, looking for the log pad. Crumbs, tobacco, and a tiny card flew through the air. The log pad housed written information on who to meet once she landed on Hoth. She missed the incoming transmission a few hours back. This meant Revy had to deal with her client, face to face. This was something she rarely enjoyed, today just wasn't her lucky day.

Her attire wasn’t suitable for the harsh conditions below. Rubbing her eyes and yawning she left the cockpit, not before pressing the auto-nav button. Walking into the hull of her ship she wrenched open the solid blue locker, a black zip up jacket with a hood stared back at her. Snow pants were latched to two tiny hooks underneath it. Shaking her head she grabbed them both and began to change. The black jacket was warm, pelts from a furry creature tickling her arms as she dressed. After slipping the snow pants on, she looked to the table and smiled. Her custom pistols waiting to be played with.

Reaching for the beautifully crafted guns she slid them into her holsters. Quickly running to the cockpit she took hold of the pilot controls. Careening into the frigid atmosphere, snow cascaded onto her cockpit window. Through the hazy weather she slipped under a constructed passageway, freeing her from vision impaired mistakes. The tunnel finally opened up at the far end, but before she exited completely she took a quick turn and slowed her advance. The blinking lights of the docking bay signaling her landing. It was the closest landing platform to her new client, not only that Hoth could provide new parts for her ship. She let go as the White raven hovered for only a moment and then latched into place. A loud echo rang through the bay, her ship powering down as the exit ramp released itself from the inner structure.

“Well, I guess it’s time to work.” Walking to the exit ramp she stepped out, her black boots the only thing visible. Something was wrong, terribly wrong. She froze, yelling out loud. “Kark! Forgot my smokes!” Turning away from the exit, she ran back into the White Raven. The cigarettes she cared, so much about, were bent inside the package. “What the-“

Her complaint was cut off a loud boom shaking the entire structure, along with her ship. Unsure of what caused the tremor she instinctively grabbed more ammo. If anything was going to cause her more trouble than what it was worth; she would be ready. Slowly she made her way onto the landing platform and looked around. The Far East end of the tunnel was open, a blast of cold weather slithering into the area. A few suppliers seemed to be doing a decent amount of selling, as decent as they could be doing on a worthless planet like Hoth.

Revy hated two things, sweating and freezing. This made the experience on Hoth, a thousand times worse. Clenching her hand into a fist, the black gloves her partner had bought her, tightened around her knuckles. The thought of being on a tundra filled with nothing to do made her pissed. Not only was it freezing, there were few cantinas to pass the time in, if any. All she wanted was, to get paid and leave.

“Kark! The Log Pad!” She screamed at her circumstance, stomping off back to her ship. Stopping in the middle of the runway she lit a cig, sucking in and exhaling as the smoke drifted behind. Another blast of cold air crept up to her neck, a small shiver making her bite down onto the coffin nail in her mouth.

Hoth Sucked.

The storm picked up as Kaine approached the entrance of the mine. The temperature began to drop as the sun began sinking below the horizon. Light illuminated the entrance to the mine, the outline of three figures could be seen. Kai studied the silhouettes of the men, he looked for any indication that the men were armed. Benron was known for surrounding himself with ruthless mercenaries. The man with his back to Kaine had a blaster on his left hip. Hmm a southpaw Kaine thought to himself. One of them pointed in his direction and they all turned to face him. As Kaine approached he got a better look at the men before him. The two in the back seemed dirty, as if they had put in a long day in the mine. The armed man was a bit more built, and a lot cleaner than the other too, perhaps it is slave labor. This was a very common practice on the planets in the outer rim. This was definitely the spot, Benron was close.

"Can we help you with something?" the one with the blaster voiced to Kaine. The sound of his voice and the look of his eyes said he wasn't welcoming in the least. He was certainly a lackey.

"That depends" Kaine was closing the gap between them. "I'm looking for something." The vague answer from Kaine caused the man before him to posture in a challenging way. This was something Kai found amusing, representing himself as a frail, fragile being lead his foes to underestimating him.

"I don't have time for this." He reached for his blaster.

"Hmm" Kaine's fingers gripped the hilt of his whip, he swung his arm around his back unleashing the bladed weapon towards his enemy. The blades gripped his gun sliger's left wrist inches from his weapon. The light whip was a remarkable weapon that served a purpose without activating it. It was an arm for being able to wield a whip with such precision. In his environment, and for the sake of his curiosity, this man would keep his hand...for now. "You better make time."

The two miners took off into the cave, Kai assumed they were grabbing reinforcements. Pulling the whip forward with an quick tug, the man fell face first into the snow, Kai knelt down to whisper to him. "The only way you survive this, is to tell me where I can find Benron." Kaine's words were as cold as his stare. The man mumbled the the whereabouts into his ear, before Kaine knocked him out with the bottom of his hilt. He wrapped up his whip and secured in under his coat as he entered the cave.

The sound of the alarm sounded over the intercom. Those miners run quicker than I calculated. Kaine pulled back his hood, he needed to be able to react to anything in his sight, and the hood was simply a hindrance. As he approached an intersection it appeared the directions he was given were flawed. In the cave, he observed the right path had little lenses protruding from the top of the mine. The cameras were a clear indicator that something important was down that path way. As he began his descent he disabled the cameras he came across, the lights were spinning and the alarm was loud, but neither of these factors broke his concentration. He rounded the corner of the cave, he sensed something, and whatever it was it had no intentions of concealing itself. A man stood before him, a corpse laid at his feet, this was surely a situation Kaine had not predicted. He needed to quickly identify if this man was a friend or foe.

"Does the name Benron mean anything to you?" Kaine proposed as he awaited a response.

The air was getting increasingly more frigid and the winds blew over the frozen plains more rapidly. The flurries covered the landscape with a fresh new blanket of snow. Shops began to close and move back into their warm homes, trying to stay safe. It was just like the old lady predicted, the storm had arrived. Jayce was on the move. He tried to speak with Dalik but his mind had been scrubbed clean. The Gray Jedi changed course and ran after the man who was asking questions. Though he did not hear what the mysterious figure had to say, it must have been important to mind trick someone. The flakes of frozen water began to cover up the footprints that the force-user left behind. Jayce had to move quickly but the snowy ground made it hard to sprint. But there it was, the entrance to the mine. Like fresh water to a thirsty man, his joy shined through his mask. A few more steps and he was home free from the cold. As he reach the entrance, a fist slammed into his goggles. Rolling backwards and then landing on his feet and one hand. Igniting his saber with his free hand, once he landed. The snowflakes sizzled as the touch down on the violet blade.

"Trying to sneak into our base aye? We already got enough guests! Beat it!" A tall man stood at the entrance of the what appeared to be a mine shaft. He was a bulky individual, covered in a black snow suit. Cracking his knuckles, then beckoning Jayce with his fingers flopping towards his wrist.

"So a fist fight? Good way to get the blood flowing, I say." Jayce sheathed his saber, and raised his fists in front of his face. The bulky man came after him, charging like a wild beast.

Rapid fists emerged, swinging in every direction. The man dressed in black was quick, even with his muscles and suit weighing him down. Jayce was dodging most of the blows and throwing out a couple jabs of his own. He proceeded to backflip and strike the man's jaw with the his boots. They split from one another and began to gasp for air. "Hey... You're pretty good. What's your name?"

"Rodrick!" The man howled over the wind.

"Jayce.. Nice to beat you."

<Good grief.> Jayce's Kyber crystal spoke inside his mind. He pushed it aside and continued on.

Going back at it again, Jayce delivered a kick into Rodrick's rib cage. He grabbed the Gray Jedi's leg and swung him back into the snow. Spiraling, losing breath and freezing. Things looked grim. Charging back into the fight, more blows were swung, kicks were thrown and headbutts spiked into the opponents head. It was becoming a bloody mess. No one would know however, the storm would wash away the battle when it was done. Blow for blow, the two man refused to give in. Suddenly, Rodrick had enough and pulled out a knife. Jayce stood there in the frozen wasteland, displeased with the outcome of this skirmish. The fair boxing match had become a cheating competition. Using the force, he extended his hands and pushed the bulky man down the mine shaft.

The Gray Jedi chased after his foe. In the cavern, he saw candles hanging from the walls. Mining equipment scattered around the floors of the mine. Rodrick was gone, this made Jayce feel uneasy. Suddenly, an alarm sounded, and the battle cries of more henchmen echoed in the distance. He started to look around, soon finding a path leading deeper down into the candle lit hallway. As he descended, there was a room to the left that caught his eye. His mystery man stood close to the doorway, and another shade loomed over a dead body.

Looks like I walked into the wrong party.

"It may, but I don't make it a habit of talking to strangers, there are some real freaks out there."

A smile crept across Eran's face at the joke he had made. He didn't have time for distractions though, he needed to find Benron, if not to get the sith alchemy information from him, then to give him an agonizing death for the torture Levi had endured. The man that had appeared in the tunnel was most peculiar to Eran, he was a small but built man, with black hair, and skin that rivaled the paleness of his own. His eyes were a light green, giving off almost a sense of warmth. He wore a dark brown coat and he emitted an aura of someone who was a Jedi. He appeared to be unarmed, but Eran wasn't about to let his guard down over something so trivial, after all, everything about Levi's appearance made Eran that much more dangerous. Let's have some fun shall we. Eran began channeling his energy into a Darkshear while examing the man.

The fact that the man asked about Benron, made it apparent he did not work for him. How does the saying go? The enemy of my enemy is my friend, if he is here for Benron too, our goals might be aligned. Best case scenario, they end up killing each other. Eran decided to set this plan into motion. He walked up to the man and outstretched his hand for a greeting.

"My name is Eran, and yes, I'm here looking for Benron, what interest is he to you?"

In reality it didn't matter what this man wanted with Benron, as long as their interests didn't conflict, it would be a win-win situation. Eran had finished creating the Darkshear and it loomed over his shoulder, ready to strike if this encounter did not turn out the way he hoped. Just then he sensed something coming. It was not concealed but it was different. It held two auras to it, both light and dark, but not in a normal sense, they were intertwined, as if working together. He saw the man at the edge of his vision appear around the corner, but he did not let his sighting be known. Instead he kept his eyes focused on the man in front of him, and used telepathy.

<Do not be alarmed, but it seems we have company. Make no sudden movements.>

Eran released the hold on his Darkshear, it flew forward, over both of them at great speed, heading straight for the new intruder.

She reached it, the silver lining of the glass counter top allowing her to lean against it. She had trudged through the horrific snow covered tundra for hours. The outpost provided her with warmth, shaking off the flakes of white that remained about her heavy coat.

"Don't lean on the case." The Ortolan said, his blue skin shining bright under the florescence.

"What the hell does a woman gotta do-" Revy was silenced, she saw the group of henchmen rolling in from behind the metal gates of the salvage yard. Shifting her gaze back to the Ortolan, she continued to lean over the fragile showcase. "Tell ya what, I'll stop leaning on this case if you tell me what's going on at the salvage yard?" The Ortolan looked at her with his beady black eyes, his long snout flaring in frustration. The Ortolan's stomach slid across the edge of the counter as he leaned in close to make sure no one heard him.

"Those are the Tundra Wolves, nasty group of criminals, the whole lot of em'. Now get off the case or buy a gun. Like the sign says, we only take credits up front, bosses orders." The short, large blue gun dealer had an attitude and from the looks of it seemed proud of his current job title, the tiny plate on his strap showing, Manager. Besides his position in such a crappy place, Revy caught his name, Lork.

"Hey Lork, how much for the Carbonite Rifle?"

"It's the last one we have, thirty-two hundred."

"I can do twenty-two and I'll take care of the Tundra Wolves for free, if and when they ever become a problem." Revy said, as she slid a small card towards him. Lork took a quick look at it and raised a brow, his floppy ears swaying as he turned to grab the display key.

"Deal. I got a job for you right now. Tell ya what, you take care of this for me, I'll sell it for the going rate in the core worlds. First take a look at the product to make sure it's really what you want." He turned the key and the backdrop of the display case opened. He grabbed the rifle Revy wanted and put it on top of the case. "If there are any modifications you would like, you'll have to wait, my next shipment doesn't come in for another two months, damn smugglers..."

Revy lifted the carbonite rifle to the air, aiming down the sight. It felt heavy, her hand extending to the mid section to keep it steady. Firm and confident she grinned, pulling the trigger a burst of ice slipped from the chamber, a hiss reaching her ears as the clip emptied. The crackle of the frozen carbonite slammed into the wall behind Lork.

"That's a Karking beauty." Revy said, tossing the rifle on to the counter. "I'll take it." Checking to see if anything else was worth buying she mentioned it before Lork could. "So...this problem, what's the deal?"

"So the Tundra Wolves are a mean bunch, but I have other problems. There's this guy, name is Fren. He was working for me a little ways back, but now he's working down at the quarry. Thing is I paid him for some rich materials, so I can start working in the lab again. Well, I haven't heard from him in a month, I'm down a poodoo amount of credits here. My boss isn't the greatest either, he's threatened my family if I don't get the money back. Worse he wants the materials too. He's got ties with the Tundra Wolves around here. Only thing about that is....well the Tundra Wolves aren't allowed near the quarry. Benron and his men, 'ahem'... the Sledgers don't like the Tundra Wolves poking around. It's getting tense around here, I heard screams from the salvage yard the other day. Not sure if they did one in or not. I don't know who else to turn to, you just happened to fall in my lap. The thing about the Sledgers is, they operate from the quarry here to the far north outpost on, in this region. Some say they are in deep with some Sith practices, like a cult of weird experiments. Just rumors to me though. What do you say? We have a deal?"

Revy listened closely, the information Lork had was valuable and rumors in her line of work, always turned out worse. Contemplating on what she was getting into she looked at the time. Her client would have been long gone by now, credits were needed and the job seemed worth it. Before extending her arm for the shake she threw out one more detail.

"I'm in. Oh and throw in a few grenades and we got ourselves a deal." She sucked in another dose of her nicotine, smoke filling her lungs as she exhaled from her nasal passage.

Her wine colored bangs moved side to side as the churning wind from the surface of Hoth found its way in. Tossing the used cigarette to the floor she shook Lork's hand, that he extended in good nature. His blue snout rising slightly at the thought of protecting his family.

The quarry was flooded with deep sinks of deposits, large mountainous hills portecting its valuable resources. Worse than that, what Lork said, was true. The quarry was crawling with Benron's men, the Sledgers. She slide her holster off of her shoulders as she hid behind a giant boulder, getting there meant disposing of guards with a few painful pistol whips. Re-attaching her holsters to her waist, the interchangeable clip proved useful, it wasn't everyday she wore a thick, black coat. She peeked over the rock to find two men going at it, blow for blow. Revy heard them having words before the fight ensued. From the looks of it the intruder was winning, until a tiny gleaming knife muddled the honor of the other.

Interesting, I wonder how this will turn out. If the intruder wins I can follow in behind him.

Then, it happened. The intruder was capable of the force. The knife wielding man was sent flying, the impact of the snow preventing a loud thud. Revy's eyes widened, she didn't know that getting in deep with an Ortolan, named Lork, was gonna get her into the middle of an ancient quarrel. If sith practices were at work here, it made sense that another force user came to scope the place out. Was that this lonesome man's purpose?

Revy watched as the force user slipped into the dark opening of the mines, quietly, but quickly, she bolted for the entrance, the area was clear. Stepping into the earthly gap, she dropped to her side and slid into cover. Metal crates hiding her from the guards and others abound. Faintly she heard it, two voices. Things were beginning to get fired up, Revy's face sprouted a smile. The thought of taking on a force user, or even Sith practitioners filled her with a burning intent. Her bounty hunting days taught Revy everything she needed to know, the only difference this time, was she wasn't in her battle armor.

She pushed off of her heels and her back pressed up against the cold, metal carton. She tried to listen, but barley understood what was going on. On top of the two in the tunnel, she had no idea where the force user she spotted from outside went. Hopping from cover to cover she made her way closer, spotting two men at the center of the hallway. Blaring sirens reaching her ears.

Great...

Kaine began to take in the man that stood before him. His jet black hair and sapphire eyes attracted his gaze at first glance. There was something peculiar about the scene in front of him. This entity was obviously a dangerous being, there in his wake, laid a body of a victim. As this man closed the gap between them Kai noticed he was carrying a cane, yet he was not using it as he walked towards him. Kaine was a wise man always on guard, not many things put him on edge, but this man did just that.

Seemingly harmless, this must be his signature, appearing harmless before striking. Kaine would have to keep his guard up at all time around this one. He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but there seemed to be something dark in this room, there was only the man before him, yet something dangerous was lurking with them, he could sense it in the force. Kaine walked a fine line, every encounter was an opportunity to represent himself as jedi, or a sith. This was something that depended solely on the situation he was in.

The man outstretched his hand, he was so close, and Kaine felt slightly vulnerable to this figure. If he reached for the hand he could be maneuvered and attacked if he wasn't careful. The refusal of the peace offering could lead in a full on fight that may not end well for either of them. Kai's hands remained in sight, it was human nature to feel uncomfortable around those who hid there hands.

Kaine could not help but analyzing his current situation. The dark aura around this man suggested he was a dark entity or a sith, yet he has offered peace to a jedi? Interesting, the trap theory appeared to hold more merit under his new outlook of the situation. Kaine's gaze locked with the blue eyes before him, for a brief moment Kai felt as if he was starring into a mirror. The smile, his confidence, the whole picture of possibly concealing his true self. This could be an interesting proposal.

"It's a pleasure, my name is Kaine, Benron and I have something we need to settle."

A familiar being could be sensed closing the distance on their location. Kaine initially noticed this person at the marketplace, he wrote them off assuming there are many force users in the galaxy. The fact this one is appearing in the mine is not a good sign. His aura seemed to be conflicted, light but dark, but the auras came together in perfect unison, as if to symbolize the yin and the yang, an old symbol he found in ancient ruins. This mysterious third person was about to round the corner. In a split second before he was visible, a dark aura shot across the room, as if it was present in the room the whole time. Kaine's eyes shook ever so slightly as he held back the urge to follow the aura with his eyes. Though he couldn't physically see anything his reflexes almost took over. Kaine was in the middle of building his cover as a non threatening light side individual. The acknowledgement of the attack would make him appear smarter and more dangerous, this was not the time or place.

Kaine realized this was the perfect opportunity to set the situation in his favor. He started to outstretch his hand to meet the one in front of him. Kaine would pull his hand back when the aura stuck its target, as if he was frightened. This would allow him to maintain his cover and make him appear less threatening while avoiding the potential trap the handshake could ensue. Now he watched out of his peripherals, he didn't have much time to watch this plan in motion, the aura darted through the air as the curious man rounded the corner.

Something dark was looming in the air. Jayce turned the corner and stood at the threshold of the unlit room. The mysterious man in the market was talking to the shadowy figure. Something was being shot at the Gray Jedi's face, but he couldn't see anything.

<DODGE YOU IDIOT!>

Jayce fumbled backward and started to roll toward the next room. Unfortunately, it wasn't a room, it was a staircase. The young man began to bang off every step and loud thuds could be heard all the way down. When he reached the bottom, everything hurt and blood was seeping out of his forehead. "What the kark was that?!" Jayce yelled with frustration. Pain seeping in from his right side. He broke a rib on the way down.

<It was a Darkshear. An invisible spear created by the force. It can not be seen but can skewer like the real thing,> said the crystal in Jayce's mind.

The young man rose to his feet, pain splinting off from his wound into other parts. He removed his Icetromper belt and wrapped it around his head to stop the bleeding. After he was done, he placed his left hand over the right part of his body, using force heal to repair the damage to his rib. It was one of his weakest skills but it helped numb the pain and heal it over time. It was too risky to move back up the stairs. The two men considered him an enemy and for good reason. He followed someone he didn't know out of his own curiosity, almost paying with his life because of it. Jayce was soon face to face with a series of tunnels. Four entrances to different locations, not knowing if any of them were safe.

Closing his eyes, he began to play Eeny, meeny, miny, moe, to decide his destination. His index finger landed on the door to the far left. The hallway seemed to be growing smaller and going uphill. Jayce was now crawling on his hands and knees. Removing his hand to crawl instantly brought the pain back. He was biting his tongue trying not to scream from the agony of his wound. There was a drop off at the end of the tunnel. Poking his head out, he watched as groups of thugs began loading rifles, sharping knives and holstering grenades. They were preparing for something, the alarm was still blaring in the background. A man soon stepped onto a podium. He was wearing a thick black mask, it appeared to be a cheap knockoff of a Mondo helmet. He began to yell out into the crowd.

"MEN! Today we take back what is ours! Tonight we bathe in Tundra Wolf blood and reap our just rewards!" The words vibrated through the room and the faithful men cried out in rousing, hurrah.

"The enemy sends wimpy force-users to stop us, but we will not be sated! We will crush them and take our fight straight to our enemy's home base!" Another hurrah echoed in the cavern.

"Now men! With me!" The gang members grabbed their weapons and grenades. Rising from their chairs and drinking their last cup of what was probably alcohol.

Jayce was concerned. If these guys got into a turf war with their rivals, they might hurt innocent people. He could take on a mob of these wannabe commandos, but not the whole pack of them. With over three hundred and fifty soldiers at this man's back, Jayce would need help to stop them.

Eran listened as the man who had approached the edge of the tunnel rolled away, and what followed seemed to be a bunch of thuds and crashes getting further away each time. Sounds like he found a staircase to play on, pity though, the spear would have been a much more pleasant sound. The man known as Kaine had pulled his hand away in haste as the Darkshear bolted towards the intruder. Out of fear I assume, he doesn't know what just happened.

"So where were we? Ah yes Benron..."

His sentence was cut short, the sound of what must have been a small army roared through the tunnels. Battlecrys and boots echoed from underneath them. Great, I'm sure Benron is somewhere within that horde too. Eran looked to Kaine, knowing that he had to have heard the same thing. He was still unsure of Kaine, in some ways he reminded him of Levi, harmless to a fault. There was just something that Eran couldn't shake though, the feeling of deception. Being the way he was, he could trust no one fully, especially someone he just met. Eran did the only thing he knew he could in this situation.

"Listen, Kaine, we don't trust one another, and that isn't about to change anytime soon. So what do you say that we settle any differences later, and go find out what that commotion is, I'm sure by now you must have figured that is where Benron is, so we'll have to deal with it eventually."

Eran started busting all the lights in the mine tunnel ahead of them, the candles were all snuffed out, and darkness enveloped them. Eran had a plan, and if Kaine went along with it, this fight would be over before it had even started.

"We will use the darkness for cover, keep within the shadows, for that is where we will strike from. The element of surprise will be our greatest ally in this fight."

Eran headed further away and turned to a staircase heading down, further into the mine, and noticed spatters of blood on a few steps. This must be where our visitor fell. Eran rushed down the steps, not wanting to fight on them. He then arrived in front of 4 tunnels, the roaring and footsteps were coming closer. He destroyed all light sources in the room, and part way down each path. His eyes adjusted to the dark very quickly, having spent many nights outside while training. He started to focus, creating Darkshears above him, ready to fight off the impending horde. A smile grew on Eran's face, his hands started to pulse with energy, he gripped his cane in anticipation. They wouldn't even know what hit them.

Revy didn't know what was going on. The only thing she did know was she was in a tight spot, the sounds of screaming came from below. Deeper in the mine, there must have been some commotion. She gripped onto her pistol, the black chrome casing around the barrel made her grin. Standing up she pointed her gun to the center of the hallway. The green eyes were the first thing that caught her attention, as she firmed her stance. Her legs spread. Her loose bangs tickled her forehead as she clenched her teeth. Walking cautiously forward, Revy knew something was off about the lonesome man in the tunnel. The smell of rich blood filled the air. Her scarlet eyes shifted to the ground only for a moment, the dead body bleeding from his chest cavity. What was more odd was the absence of a murder weapon, things were getting confusing.

"Who the hell are you!?" Revy yelled, so the black haired man before her would be able to hear over the sounding alarm. "Tell ya what." She paused. "I ain't got time to stand around here tough guy, so where the hell is Fren!" Her fingers wrapped around the base of the handle, the etched symbol of a tiger, roaring; dressed the side of her gun.

The shuffling of feet were lightly heard, her crimson eyes looking slightly to the left. The railing was rusted and old, a sign of a staircase hidden behind the motionless stranger before her. There was something missing, she just couldn't put her finger on it. Revy had come across many force users in her time, but this one carried himself well, almost proud. These factors mattered little now, she was ready for anything, her index finger bent around the trigger. The sweet cold plating embracing her skin as she kept her distance.

"Hey you two!" Barked a guard, three other armed men accompanying him. "We'll shoot if you move!"

Crap, now I gotta make a break for it. Screw that, I need answers to get paid. This could work in my favor as long as this freak in front of me isn't some Sith practitioner, or whatever Lork said. Karking every time I get someone alone, poodoo like this happens. The lights behind him are all busted? Why?

She refused to move, her sole focus on the man in front of her. The guards began to surround them. Each of the three patrols pointed their guns at her and the mysterious man.

"Put the gun down, now!" Yelled a different lackey.

"Or what?" She chuckled. "You'll kill me? You'll be doing me a favor..."

She stared at the real threat, his pale skin accenting his green slits, for eyes. Revy's ruby, red jewels lit up, the fire had been kindled. A sardonic smile curled onto her face. She lived for tense moments like this. Home; she was right at home...

Eran headed down the staircase, his plan had worked, he was able to maintain his distance from him while preserving the little trust they had built up. As he took a step forward to follow his new acquaintance, he sensed another combatant. Kaine froze, though the lights spun overhead, as he stood perfectly still he was able to notice slight changes in his environment. A woman rounded the corner, a blaster was now aimed between his eyes. Though he was obviously in a bind, this scenario was one he was more accustomed to. Visible weapons that could be manipulated and dismantled laid in his path. Kaine took in his new toy for a moment. The crimson eyes locked on to him, it appeared she had adrenaline coursing through her veins. He observed her behavior, through all of the commotion, her eyes darted from his, to the corpse on the floor. The cause of death had yet to be determined, but her perception of the situation probably dictated him as the villain. These were unfortunate circumstances.

Footsteps echoed through the mine as more intruders headed there way, Kai appeared to have a gravitation pull to inconveniences. This was surely his test, as he hurdled each obstacle that was laid before him, his mind stayed on task. The Grimoir was the top priority. The guards swarmed in the room. hmm, Benron's men, finally someone who can be manipulated into locating this elusive man. The woman before him barked out commands, she demanded answers from him, something told him these guards were chump change compared to this girl. She obviously was smart enough choose her targets. He admired her human instincts, respecting the alarms sounding within her, they obviously told her he was not one to be trusted. The same presumption is reached by all of his pawns, they all believe they have a say in the outcome, but Kaine only introduces options in which he is the victor. The gears spun in his mind as he plotted a way out of this mess.

Kai raised his left hand to surrender, he wanted to show them his confidence while respecting their authority. "Gentleman, it appears I have lost my way, I was sent back to the tomb on Exar Kun, on strict orders from Benron himself. Of course navigating these mines have never been my strong suit. I have recovered a relic I must personally deliver ti to Benron himself. " This was a chance to set up a bio for both parties involved. The guards continued their skeptical stares as they heard his explanation of his circumstances. The one in charge kept his firearm raised as he pressed for more details.

"What kind of relic, I was not informed of your entry into the quarry?" The guard stared at him as he awaited Kaine's response.

"No one was, because if any of you knew what I was in possession of, you could be tempted to take it," The guards glanced though the corners of their eyes as they were obviously contemplating the idea of robbing him. "But as we know...Benron isn't a fan of torturing his own men, especially on the verge of such an uprising." The guard seemed taken back by the response, it was apparent that Kaine's shot in the dark, concerning the chanting he heard, yielded results. This was a crucial victory in assuring the guards would be cooperative.

"If you know about the uprising...you must be an ally of the sledgers." They unanimously turned their attention to the woman in the door way. Their blasters no longer aimed in his direction. His eyes met her gaze. For the first time upon entering the mine he held the upper hand. The manipulation of these men would prove most valuable in locating his target. They may also provide protection. What an ironic thought, soldiers of the king....escorting his executioner to the throne room."What of the girl?" The guard asked, a subtle smirk presented itself on Kai's face.

"It appears she killed one of our brothers in cold blood...."

The danger was growing most unfavorable for the young man. First, the dark presence who tried to kill him and could still be on his tail. Now, a war between gangs was about to breakout and perhaps, kill many innocent people near the market district. His thoughts swelled on the matter, festering in him like an open wound. Something interrupted him however. The dark entity was on the floor below him. Listening to the sounds, he heard the army was heading in that direction as well. The time to act was nearly upon him. In his current condition, he wouldn't be much use in a fight with another force-user. Looking below him, he saw a door across the gangs drinking area. Perhaps there, I can escape and get back to my ship. Shacking his head and smacking himself with both hands. No. That's not honorable. But I need more time to heal.

Lowering himself into the drinking lounge, Jayce scanned the area for anything that could help his wounds. The tables were littered with empty glasses and cigarettes still burning in their ashtrays. The grand table, where most of the head officers would sit, had battle plans and more half full pints of ale. Seeing the plans laid out in front of him, he quickly snatched them up and pushed them into his coat pocket. He continued to scrounge around for medicine of some kind, or perhaps a bandage. Looking to a loot crate, whipping the top of it open, he examined wait laid inside. Grenades, medpac and medical wrap aligned the inside. Jayce proceeded to wrap himself up and sank the medpac's needle near his broken rib. The pain subsided and he could breath better than he had in the past five minutes. It was still broken, but it numbed the pain. He had to move, there was not time to dawdle. A Gray Jedi was needed to save the inhabitants of Hoth. Though Jayce treads on both sides of the force, he was a kind hearted person, who wished to be a hero.

Forcing Jumping back to ledge, he started to crawl back down the tunnel. He felt the dark presence still looming in that area. Waiting for his next move. As Jayce reached a spot where he could stand once more, he got onto his feet and slowly crept towards his opponent. Clasping his lightsaber hilt, the young man was almost where he had entered. Something was off however. The dark figure should have been confronted by the gang members by now. He was alone and the voices of charging men had dissipated. Perhaps a different hallway that lead to the outside world? Jayce pushed it aside for now. His enemy was making the next room swirl with murderous intent.

Stepping from the threshold, Jayce ignited his saber. "Looking for me?"

Eran felt the presence of the man he had struck with Darkshear approach from one of the paths, he would be there shortly. The gears in his mind started turning, and then it hit him, an epiphany of a plan. It was so simple, yet required perfection to have it do its job. He withdrew his collection of power, except for one Darkshear on the off chance his plan failed. He heard the sound of a lightsaber igniting, then the man spoke.

"Looking for me?"

As the lightsaber illuminated the room, Eran's eyes grew wide and he began to impersonate an injured Levi.

"Oh god please, do...don't hurt me. I don't want to die in this terrible place. Eran bit his tongue with enough force to draw blood, he coughed, and it spattered the ground between him and the stranger. "I think my ribs are cracked the very least. It's hard to keep breathing." Eran collapsed to his knees, holding onto his cane, making it appear as if he was attempting to use it to get off the cold mine floor. He hasn't instantly struck me down, could he not know that it was I who attacked him in the other room? Let's have some fun shall we "Please you have to help me, the man who attacked you is after me too,I tried to fight him but he was too strong. I was barely able to get away. I used the last of my power to kill the lights here in hopes of staying hidden until later. Eran knew what must come next in order to fool this man. He fell over, his body went limp, and he relinquished control over to Levi himself.

He opened his eyes, and pain came rushing into his body. His head was pounding, it was the worst headache he had ever felt in his entire life, it felt as though a ton of bricks had been dropped on him. When he tried to breath, his chest flared up in agonizing pain. What happened? I remember being dragged here and tortured, but I can't remember much else. He tried to stand, using his cane to help get him up. He managed to make it, but was relying very heavily on his cane to do so. Then he saw it, the glow of a lightsaber, and with it, another man staring at him.

Great what now? Levi thought, his mind was cloudy, and it was hard to concentrate on anything at the moment. The man had his lightsaber drawn, yet he had not attacked yet, Perhaps he is just using it for a light source. Levi had noticed that the room they were in, had no other light sources besides the lightsaber of the stranger. Levi was weary of the other individual, but decided that in his current state, he had only one option.

"My name is Levi, who are you?" The difficulty that sentence took to get out was far greater due to the injuries he had sustained.

Eran was back in Levi's mind once more, but this time was different, Levi was extremely weak from his beating at the hands of Benron's man. His mind was not able to fight him off as it usually did unless he was in grave danger, or Eran's will to take control was too great. He could feel Levi's mind opening up some possibilities as he awoke. Eran tested the waters with this, as to not push it too far, in fear of announcing his presence to Levi's mind. He flooded the image of Kaine into Levi's mind, and as if on cue, Levi spoke.

"Agahhh, my head, it hurts so much. It had to have been the man in the tunnel that did this. I can barely make him out now, but he was wearing a dark brown coat, and had pale skin with light green eyes. Does that mean anything to you?" Levi asked the man in the room with him.

It had worked! Eran had successfully merged his thoughts into Levi's mind to create a vision that Levi himself drew out of his own consciousness. He tried pushing it a bit further.

"I think I've seen you before too, but I'm not sure, my head is killing me, and my mind is a bit fuzzy. Wait, I have seen you, the man who attacked me, did something to you also didn't he? It was after that, that he assaulted me. I don't know how I got here though, if I had to guess, I would say that I had a seizure and the man left me here to die, I'm prone to them due to my tumor, its the same reason I have this." Levi nodded to the cane that was keeping him from falling down again.

Eran was thrilled at the success of his test, in Levi's state he would be able to come and go as he pleased until Levi had regained enough strength to stop it from happening. Now Eran ever so slightly moved the Darkshear he had left up in his switch, and moved it over to the top of the doorway where the stairs were, The stranger would have his proof soon enough about who had attacked him. Eran waited in anticipation for the next move to be made.

She could see it, the sinister smile that reached the pale man's face. The fact that he was able to swindle himself out from his own undoing was impressive. The stiff turns of Benron's men held firm as they pointed their rifles at her. The green slits that stared back, made her tense. He was clever, not only that his priceless expression told her of his ulterior motives. He clearly had other plans and the fact that the men were now in his corner, made it worse. Benron was a popular man. Without Lork, she never would have ended up in this mess. Regardless, her eyes widened as she watched the devil at work. Framed for murder, at the cost of what? A few grenades and a carbonate rifle. She bit down on her slender lip, thinking of a solution. Time was running out, shooting the evil bastard in front of her would make things worse.

On the other hand she played the actions trough her mind. She had been in tight spots before, but she always had Shepard to watch her back. Then she figured it out, being crazy came with an advantage; unpredictability. No one not even the most intelligent of beings could see what came next. Revy grinned, her eyes turning to a glazing steel as she took on the snake before her.

"Alright. I think we all got off on the wrong hand here." Slowly she bent her elbow, her left hand moving away from the gun. Then lifted it to the air. "I surrender..." She bent slowly placing her pistol onto the floor. As she released the handle she smirked, placing it sideways. Her right hand slipped into her pocket. The guards grew angrier as they waited to see what came next. "Wow, relax. It's just a lighter." A cigarette followed. Placing it between her lips she scanned the area. There were only two ways out, something she actually was considering to gun for. Her heavy jacket crinkled as she lit the coffin nail, sucking in deep and exhaling. "Take me to Benron as a prisoner and I'm sure you'll all be rewarded handsomely, after all I have what he wants..."

It was an art, bluffing. Revy's years of gambling against card sharks in Sabacc taught her how to lie, even talk her way into stacks of credits and odd-ended ship parts. She'd seen more professional liars and bluffers than the galaxy could handle. The real art of it all was the ability to force your opponents into submission. This not only took a long while to master, but a poker face was needed.

"What exactly do you have, that's more valuable than the relic that man has?" Asked the stout looking soldier to the far right.

"I can get you the Tundra Wolves leader. Without unnecessary bloodshed, keepin your men alive should be a factor her, is it not? Those battlecrys earlier, they weren't all smoke and mirrors. Relic or not Benron would be pretty pissed if you had someone that could get you in their base with ease. I mean I know I would be." She said, taking another drag of her cig.

The alarm began to die out. The sounding flurry of charging men below seemed to dissipate and the clock was ticking. The evil genius in front of her would get his, but not before she got what she needed. If he lashed out and killed her, they would question his loyalty to Benron. If he killed them, she had an entire thirsty page of tricks for the outcome. She moved the cigarette from her mouth to the side. She looked at the treacherous snake in his green eyes one last time, before being grabbed by the arm and pulled backwards.

"Fine, both of you are coming with us..."

Kaine witnessed the extravagant manipulation played before him. He was the first one to spot out deception, he himself was a master at it. The guards seemed very in tuned with the girls proposal. The difference in their approach was simple. Giving up information or not, she was still viewed as an enemy, plotting a way to stay alive with barrels aimed in her direction. Kai was portrayed as an ally, someone close enough for Benron to trust. This put him at a unique situation, the ability to command his troops. The woman was smart, there was a blaster on the ground, but her confidence in such a terrible situation meant that Kaine didn't have all the facts. Playing a game of chess is simple, all the pieces are laid before, all possible outcomes can be calculated in advance. This situation was like playing with a clouded board. She knew of pieces he did not. In these types of situations, it's always better to get all the facts.

"It appears our intruder, though civil, is still an enemy. Allies don't surrender, this is a plea to get out of her current situation." Kaine began planting the seeds of doubt. "For all we know, she could want us to bring her to Benron to kill him." the irony tickled him, displaying his strategy for all to see, yet they would still bring him to Benron themselves. It was the little things he appreciated. The guards became more alert, suddenly their imaginations took over, fear drove one of the guards to kick the Revy's gun away towards Kaine. He smirked, admiring this lovely match unfold in front of him. He knelt and grabbed the blaster before standing tall. He admired the weapon, it was going to be a great memento of this encounter.

"You guys should take her to the masses, bring her before the men she wishes to save in the tunnels, let the lieutenants decide how to handle it. They will be able to extract what she knows." Kaine walked over to the guard in charge, the only one with a free hand. "You need to take me to see Benron, it's urgent I see him." Kaine was no longer playing around, he used the force to persuade these pawn to do his bidding. He was no longer asking. There were too many variables in this equation all ready. Though he admired the deception and charisma this woman displayed, he needed to separate himself from them as he headed towards Benron. If she somehow survived the interrogation, it'd be interesting to meet with her again.

The guard was brainwashed adhering to his every word. "Right this way Kai." it appeared that his influence left an imprint, he never clearly stated his name for these men to hear. Again unfortunate but not without reward. The two guards holding the gunslinger now heard their boss and new acquaintance on a first name bases. Kaine turned, his eyes glancing over his shoulders he headed back into the tunnels from the direction he initially came, the guard was going to bring him to his prize. His sadistic smile peered back as waved her pistol, one final see you later, from one con-artist to another. He made his entrance as the remaining two guards turned to head down the stairs with their newly apprehended prisoner. Check!

As the wounded man looked to his cane, so did Jayce. It didn't make sense to the Gray Jedi. The murderous intent he felt moments ago vanished and left this individual in its wake. The crippled man named Levi, sat before him with sad eyes. Bleeding, just as Jayce was seconds before learning of the army. Part of him wanted to help this poor soul, but another part was keeping its guard up. The dark room made the scene seem all wrong. Sure, there were plenty of places for the one giving off the darkness to disappear, but why leave this character in the same spot?

<Jayce. You feel it right? The darkside looming in the distance?>

<Yeah. Do you think its another Darkshear?> Jayce decided to speak to the Kyber crystal in his mind. Not wanting to scare the suspect or give away his plan.

<I believe it is. Perhaps we should be cautious of this impostor. There might be something deeper afoot.>

<I have an idea.>

Walking toward Levi, Jayce's saber hummed in the empty room. He saw the look of terror before and it would only grow. Calling upon the darkside, Jayce's eyes began to take on a different shade. Before when he let the corruption seep in, his irises turned gold. Now, with his training allowing him to use both sides equally, his electric blue eyes soon took on a crimson coloration. The aura he generated off his body was the darkside. If anyone was sensing him right now, they would only feel darkness encompassing the harmony that was once present in the young man. The echoes of his saber vibrated off the walls and back to the two men. He was standing in front of Levi now, and his violet blade rose into the air. The light shined in his eyes, revealing the corruption in them. Grasping the handle with both hands, he spoke to the weeping, hurting man.

"You seem like you're too weak to continue, I will put you out of your misery. I'll preserve your honor before someone disgraces you. Goodbye and may the force guide you in the next life."

Anyone who knew the Gray Jedi, knew he wasn't a murderer. He was a kind person and only killed when his life was threatened. The glow of his weapon illuminated Levi's face. Blood dripping from his lips, his brown hair was messy and his eyes twitched from pain. If this wasn't the real deal, it was a very good act. The bait had been set. If this person was bluffing, the Darkshear will come bolting at Jayce. If he was telling the truth, then Jayce would not strike. All that remained was one question. What will Levi do next?

Levi saw the look in man's eyes, they were filled with hate and anger. This man was indeed going to kill him. Levi's mind raced as he thought of what he could possibly do. I'm too exhausted to even fight back, my body is broken in every sense of the word. This is the end of the road for me, I should've just stayed on Ilum, at least there I was safe. I'm not meant to be a Jedi, the force chose poorly when it let me sense it's power. Tears poured down his face as he thought of Ilum, how boring it was, but at the same time, it was where he wanted to be more than anywhere in the galaxy at this moment. Thoughts of his father went through his mind, he wanted nothing more than to visit his tombstone once more, to tell him all he had learned and seen throughout the galaxy, and how now he would never get that chance.

"I accept your decision, on one condition, if you ever visit Ilum, please go to the cemetary and leave this at my father's grave, his name is Jim Shied. This was his gift to me, and it served me well until the end." Levi lifted up his cane to the stranger, an offering of his acceptance for his impending death.

NO NO NO, WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? Eran roared inside Levi's mind, he was trying to get out and kill the man who had just given them a death sentence. WHY CAN'T I GET OUT OF HERE!? Eran repeatedly tried to take control, if only for a moment to strike back, to launch the Darkshear into this unsuspecting fool. Something is wrong, i can feel that Levi is weak yet he is strong willed at this moment. Is it his father perhaps? Eran knew how strong Levi's bond with his father was, and now Levi was focusing on nothing more than seeing him in the afterlife. He was so determined, almost happy to be struck down just to leave this cruel world. Eran couldn't let that happen, he didn't know what would happen if Levi died, and what it came down to was that Eran was terrified of that thought. No matter what Eran did though, he just couldn't break the hold Levi held on his mind. Time to find out what happens when my host dies, Eran shuddered at the thought and came to terms with what was to come.

The silence was broke by the sound of people coming down the stairs to their chamber, as they reached the entrance to the room, Eran saw three figures standing there. One of them was smaller and seemed to be getting pushed ahead by the other two. Eran didn't know if they would be his saving grace or just add to this farce he was facing. What do we have here, I wonder?

Kai....

The name echoed through her mind, the searing memory of the vile man with her gun ripping through every sensible course of action. Killing him would settle it. Revy would have to wait to retrieve her pistol. Leaving it on the ground had turned out for the better. It seemed like all the rest even a devil like Kai had been arrogant. They all were, the sadistic, evil types always went for it. It was a trademark of her own. Revy's pistols were like a lightsaber to her, basically an extension of herself. She would never let some freak with a luck streak take one away from her without purpose. A Sensor Tag was placed on the bottom of the pistol, Kai was her personal information device. This, however, had to wait. She had to act out to make sure Kai, didn't catch on. Revy's tiny device was her only savior at getting her beauty back.

"Kai, I'LL KARKING KILL YOU!" Revy screamed, stomping her feet into the dirt below.

The large calluses on one of Benron's men sunk into her arm, the thick coat forcing him to continue to regain his grip. She fell relaxed, her head bowing to the ground. The cigarette from before was still in her hand as she flicked it away.

Killing these two should be a piece of cake.

Just when she was a about to react she felt a mean blow to her back. Knocked onto the ground she looked down into the darkened stairwell. Something purple illuminating at the bottom of the steps.

"Knock it off. On your feet!" Benron's lackey commanded.

"You keep yelling like that your going to loose your voice."

Standing she wiped off the dirt, careful not to reveal her other hidden pistol and extra slugs, she grabbed from her ship. Things were getting out of hand, extra ammunition would be needed. Having one gun would make it difficult, but doable. She didn't know what they were about to walk into and as the two men stood behind her they pushed her forward, leading her down the steps. The creaks and pops of the old metal staircase gave them away.

The hum, it was all too familiar as she stepped down onto the ground floor. Revy's eyes widened, the original intruder was about to strike down another scared, wounded person. The lightsaber was pretty, at least to Revy. She felt it, the grip of the two men behind her reattaching to her as they tensed. This was the moment to break free, the other two mysterious people in the dark room were another problem. She couldn't think quick enough, it had to be now.

Screw it.

Revy lifted her right knee to the air, slamming her foot into one of the guards behind her. He fell onto the metal steps behind them. The second lackey went to strike, but like a machine Revy released her precious tool of destruction. The silver chrome barrel swiped through the air and locked into place. The trigger teased her finger and before the lackey could strike with the spine of his rifle, the slug dropped into the gas chamber. It released as the pin spring crunched backwards and let it tear through the air. The small round rupturing through the guys head. A string of blood, painted the railing nearby. She smiled wickedly, was she enjoying the kill? Her crimson eyes narrowed, the other obnoxious fool from before trying to find his rifle as he squirmed on the steps. Without hesitation Revy let another loose, the loud bang indicating his impending doom. The slug tore through his throat as he gargled, chocking on his blood.

"I told you." She paused, the smoke from her barrel escaping as she lifted it to her chest. "You'd loose your voice if you kept yelling."

Turning around she observed the two figures now encompassing the room. The consistent hum of the lightsaber made her alert. Whatever was going on between the two of them was none of her business. The only thing she cared about was killing Kai, getting her gun, and what she came for. Her look showed a steel resolve. The man to the left seemed to be relinquishing a cane, truly an odd notion. Was the intruder from before not a Jedi? Revy licked her lips, her wine colored bangs hanging forward. She extended her arm, the already dangerous weapon in the clutches of her hand. The black leather gloves giving her ample amount of grip.

Damn it, now what?

"Hey you with the lightsaber, put it down. I want answers, now. No more karking around. You two got me? Or you'll end up like these to idiots." She gestured to the two dead guards behind her.

Revy was thirsty for more blood a warpath that wouldn't be quenched until she got everything she wanted. The stillness of the dark, embracing the three of them.
