Hoth's Quarry

As they backtracked through the tunnels, Kaine made mental notes about the course they took, he needed an escape plan after he obtained his grimior. The sheer quantity of men roaming the quarry, meant there would not be time for mistakes. His mindless slave escorted him to the door. A code word was necessary to obtain access to this room. The technology seemed very advanced for an active mining facility. Finally, it's almost within my grasp. The door swung open. two guards stood on either side of the door. The walls perpendicular to the door were solid, they connected to a fully glass window that over looked the active digging and a majority of his men. Kaine stepped into the gallery, two guards with rifles raised them to Kaine's chest, he paused as he awaited the outcome.

In front of him, parallel to the window, was a long wooden desk, behind it stood a man over looking the site. As he turned to face Kai, his hazel eyes locked with Kaine's, it was apparent he was the man Kai had been searching for.

"It appears you have brainwashed one of my more susceptible associates." The man spoke as he fiddled with the trinkets on his desk, as he no longer acknowledged Kaine. "My name is Benron, and I have had my fair share of encounters with Bounty hunters, Sith, smugglers, but I have to say, you are the first Jedi." His ignorance was now on display for all to see, it was apparent he was slightly in tune with the force, but not strong enough to bend it to his will. He was a pathetic excuse of a force user. "So tell me PAD-A-WAN... what's your name, and what is so important for you to use your rookie Jedi mind tricks on one of my guards." His over confidence was overwhelming.

"My name is not important, I need something that you have, I offer something as valuable as your life's work in exchange for it." Kaine's face hardened, this was a time he needed to be taken seriously.

" 'My name isn't important',obviously not, you won't be alive long enough for me to remember..." He seemed overly sure of himself. "Being as you are the first force user to seek me out, I assume you are here for my grimiore." Benron stuck a chord with that last sentence, the big oaf was smarter than he looked. The door behind him was closed, escape was no longer an option.

"Correction, that grimiore belonged to Exar Kun apprentice to Freedon Naad's spirit. The fact you would even imply that you own that book is completely ridiculous. " Anger started to flow through Kai as the words left his lips. "Tell me Benron, if i were an over confident tyrant with bare minimal force detection-" Kaine took a step forward. "-where would I stash that grimiore?" His mocking tone was becoming more apparent now. He felt the guns press against the back of his head as Benron laughed a loud.

"Ahhh so the Jedi knows his history." Benron clapped slowly as he closed the gap between them. Obviously he is misinformed on who has the upper hand here. "Well from a 'tyrant' to a soon to be corpse. I would have to say in my desk, because who in their right mind woul-" There it is! With one swift motion Kaine tucked his head and darted backwards while simultaneously gripping the hilt of his whip. By the time anyone in the room could react Kaine snapped his arm and stuck the guard on the right, in doing so incapacitate him. Bullets flew from the barrel as the guard on the left started to swing his rifle up in Kaine's direction. There was not much time to think , he trusted his instincts. He dove into a somersault while ripping his whip through the air. The blades of his whip dug into the guards legs. With another vigorous yank He too fell, but was still coherent. Kaine drew his whip back, blood spraying on the walls as the razors tore open his skin. One final snap of the wrist put him out of his misery.

"Oh my God you need to-"Benron scrambled to speak before being stopped in his tracks. Kaine swung his arm sideways and wrapped the lash around his neck. Benron was struggling to fend off the assault, he couldn't make out any words, all he could do was stare at the assailant before him.

"You were right." Kaines eyes shifted to a dark orange, their natural pigment, as his true colors surfaced from within. "My name is not important, because you won't be alive long enough to need it." The Sadistic Grin returned to it's rightful place as his thumb clicked the button on the hilt. The light whip illuminated and severed Benron's head from his body. It hit the floor and rolled a few feet. This was worth the wait. He walked over to the desk, he knew which one to open, the grimiore emitted an aura of it's own. It was unique. Finally...I have it! At long last the object of his desire was in his hands. He studied the Leather cover held together by Vegetable-fiber binding, it was heavily faded, and the pages were worn, but everything was there. Holding the book he peered out the window, he knew this was the start of a new era.

Levi's words of his father made Jayce's heart swell. Usually, this tactic of intimidation would make men confess their sins, but this one was different. His aura was light and his eyes were bathed in sorrow. This couldn't be the man who created the Darkshear and yet, it still loomed over the Gray Jedi's head. It was a predicament Jayce didn't want to be in right now. There was a war in the horizon that needed his attention, but this was gripping him. He needed to uncover the truth before he turned his back and got killed.

A woman appeared on the stairs, guided by two men. Guns pointed at her back and mean looks caught in the glow of his saber as they grew closer. Problems seemed to be pilling up. Jayce contemplated how he would attempt to rescue this woman. Before a choice could be made, the captive broke free from her captors. A series of acrobatic moves and gun shots left two bodies on the floor. She was biding her time and successfully freed herself. Of course now, what was she planning to do?

"Hey you with the lightsaber, put it down. I want answers, now. No more karking around. You two got me? Or you'll end up like these two idiots."

Her gesture swiftly pointed out the corpses. Holding a slug shooter tightly and pointing it at Jayce, there was little options. If he refused, she would shoot. If he accepted, Levi might spring up to kill him. These were difficult choices. Looking towards the ceiling, he still sensed the Darkshear.

Letting out a deep sigh, Jayce responded to the woman's words. "I can not do as you ask. This man has a force ability looming over my head. If I lower my guard, he will strike me down. I understand you will do the same if I continue to deny your request. I only ask that you allow me this."

Jayce threw his elbow towards Levi's neck. Hoping to knock him out and have a civil conversation with the woman on the staircase.

Levi was confused as he listened to the Jedi before him, I don't have a force ability active right now, what is he talking about? He couldn't sense the Darkshear that Eran had conjured up earlier. The only thing he felt was the shift in the balance of auras from the man who swore to strike him down. They were no longer in unison, the darker half had asserted its dominance. Levi was about to think of a plan to get out of here alive when he felt a thud against the back of his neck, it wasn't very strong but it had been placed correctly to issue him a blackout. He collapsed, his body was in no condition to even sustain one well placed blow, as he hit the floor with a resounding "thud" Eran broke free.

Well its about time, this Jedi has no idea what he has done, he has allowed me to once again bring the fight to him. Eran lay there with his eyes closed, not moving still, he had a better plan. He needed information on Benron and perhaps these two might know something that could help him. His breath was slow, it matched what Levi's would be if he was knocked out, to provide cover for his ruse.

While Levi had begged for his death. Eran had witnessed the woman who was escorted by two guards take both of them out with ease. Her small stature seemed to be deceiving, as she was very quick and obviously was well-versed with pistols. Her wine colored hair hung over the top of her forehead and she was wearing a black jacket and snow pants to accommodate Hoth's terrible climate. Her attack on the guards that held her seemed to be well thought out, she made it look so easy, felling her captors in quick succession.

She seemed anxious upon seeing Levi in such a desperate state though, I wonder how she'll react to the Jedi knocking him out? Eran was set up, his plan now depended on how these two reacted to each other. Having regained control once more, Eran also could freely control the Darkshear he had created earlier once more. It would be useful if either of them tried anything he didn't like. He started to concentrate while laying on the ground, he was making a second Darkshear, placing it next to the first one that hung over the door where the woman stood.

Having some time while he lay there on the cold mine floor, Eran's mind shifted as he realized something was out of place. Where is Kaine? The man was supposed to have followed him down the steps in order to help with the assault on the army that was now heading in another direction. What had happened though? Eran hadn't been down in the chamber for very long when the Jedi had come back, by that time Kaine should've been there to help. I smell a rat. Eran began to grow angry, if Kaine had come when he was supposed too, he wouldn't be in this predicament at all. The woman and guards had come down the same stairs Eran had come down into this chamber. So either Kaine fought with the guards who were escorting this woman and is dead on the floor above us, or he left after I came down here to pursue his own goals. Eran had to see for himself if Kaine was dead, regardless of outcome, the truce they had was off.

She stood her ground as the Jedi began to talk. This wasn't the time or place to get spunky, Revy was no longer playing games. She wasn't going to let things get out of hand any longer. Her black gloves creased around the handle of her gun. Her nimble finger, firing as she watched the Jedi strike the weakened foe. The first slug dropped into the chamber, the smell of a dense gas reaching her nostrils as the crunching gears within let go. The metallic beauty darted for Jayce's head. She backed up, her foot reaching the first step. Another slug slipped into the chamber and ripped through the air. She acted on impulse. The exit was already in her cone of influence and firing her weapon would keep both of them at bay.

Dark forces were happening beyond her control, escaping was the right plan. Taking on two force users at a time, without her battle armor was stupid, even for her. She grinned, slowly stepping backwards again as she ascended the next few steps. Then like a unpredictable table of cards, she emptied the clip, three slugs in rapid succession flew through the air. She had made a wide enough gap, as she reached the top of the stairs.

"I'll catch you guys later.." She said, bolting for the tunnel that Kaine had left in. She didn't know it but her escape was a lucky effort. The Darkshears that sat above her head, were non existent to her. Had she not backed up on the first shot, she may have been dead.

Regardless, she ran. The small vibration from her inner jacket pocket told her Kaine was still in the vicinity of the mine. Ignoring the device, she slipped her arm into her snow pants, pockets full with ammo. Revy slid the slugs into the new cartridge and slammed it into the bottom of her gun. The reload process was tedious for most, hence blaster pistols became the norm. She on the other hand, wanted it dead, wounded beyond fighting spirit.

The tunnel began to take on a more firm indication of a fortress. Blaster doors disappearing in the distance as she passed. The loud pinging reached her ears, Kai was closer than she thought.

Alright you son of hutt, let's finish this....

She rounded the corner a few men charging from the far west entrance of the mine. A patch of honor worn on their sleeves. A image of a howling wolf, representing itself. To the east was another entrance, that Benron's men were charging from. If they began to shoot she'd be stuck in the crossfire.

KARK!

The haze of red and green filled the hallway. A beam of green grazed her shoulder as she ran through the flurry of shots. Diving into a doorway straight ahead. She slammed onto the keypad. The door wouldn't budge.

"Come on!"

Revy pointed her gun at the terminal and fired. The electrical sparks lifted to the air. The blast door opening. As another beam seared her forearm she rolled into the newly lit room. The blast door malfunctioning as it slammed tightly shut. The crime war was started, it seemed the Tundra Wolves planned an attack the same day Benron had. An unfortunate circumstance for everyone. Revy looked at her wounds, the burning smell of flesh forced an odd expression of pain on her face. There was no blood, a trait blaster rifles were to thank for. She stood examining the room, her eyes turned to vengeful slits, a burning anger boiling from within. Kai stood behind a desk, a large tome with a fragile binding rested in his hands.

The floor held a nefarious canvas, Benron's head separated from his body. The lifeless hunk of meat left over, looked stiff and from what she gathered of it, Kai was the only perpetrator. Revy smiled, her gun extended forward. She cornered Kai like a wounded animal, she creased her eye. Aiming for the heart. It was real, the evil intent she felt earlier, more apparent now then ever.

Revy had found the Devil's Den. One thing reaching her mind, a chess board capturing it all.

Mate!

His brief moment of solitude and victory was quickly intervened by the muffled sound of blaster fire in the distance. It seemed there was a conflict within the heart of the mine and Kaine held front row tickets. His eyes Canvased his environment through the glass. There was a bunch of digging equipment and scaffolding below. The men grabbed their weapons and started heading into the tunnels, some were brave and dove head first into brunt of the enemies forces, the remaining few took their cowardly hides to the tunnels on the far side of the cave. The sound of stripping metal echoes through Benron's throne room, sparks flew from the door before it opened. As the familiar face came barging into his morgue, Kaine slide the tome behind him, it fit securely between his coat and pants. His fingers wrapped themselves around the handle of the gun. He unsheathed it from his back and aimed towards the woman. She was quick on the draw, both guns were risen in perfect unison, as the blaster door slammed shut behind her.

Her eyes are fierce, she is definitely here on a vendetta.

An eerie smile resided on her face. She was confident in her ability even after being locked in a prison with Kai. He was now playing with fire, every decision he made from here on out would affect the outcome of this endeavor. Either he would escape with his life and the grimiore, or die among the filth in these tunnels. His thought process played out his options on fast forward as he tired to emulate her responses to his own. Offering a peace would be a waste of time. Giving her a second slug thrower while disarming himself would be foolish. Kaine already had concluded his best bet was to draw the gun on his assailant. Old fashion guns had unique and often held unfavorable interactions with light sabers. He was not sure he would be able to deflect the attacks precisely enough to make his escape. However now he was in an interesting scenario. He couldn't use his whip to stop an incoming slug, but he had access to something this girl did not... the force. Sith used the force to react to blaster attacks and reflect them in a safer direction, a force users reflexes and precision were second to few. There was a slight chance he could stop her slug with one of his own. Based on the trajectory of the bullets and the point of impact they would have a variety of outcomes ranging from perfect to non optimal. Even the strongest material can break itself. This was a risky plan as planning out one of these counter attacks would be difficult, while firing two bullets would be impossible.

His last option, which was calculated to have the highest survival and success rate, laid behind him. The glass window had a safety mechanism. While miners often could reap minerals, there was often plenty of dangers that came along with their profession such as creatures, gases etc.... As such the window was fitted with the same function as a tie fighter. Upon the glass breaking, the Metal reinforcements would slam shut to keep anything from getting in, or in this case, getting out. He would have to move fast to ensure he would not be caught between the doors.

Kaine smirked as he realized if this worked, he himself would have to time everything perfectly. The rewards greatly outweigh the risk as Kaine would trap his biggest threat in a steel coffin. Without a word his index finger squeezed the trigger, as a small round rifled through the barrel towards the matching pistol. Kaine flicked his right wrist as his whip made a thundering crack against the window to his rear. His feet propelled him though the shower of glass that filled the room, he fired another two rounds before the pistol left his hand, it was no longer necessary as the doors were on the verge on colliding. Kaine lurched his body and head back as the slabs of steel slammed together inches from his face. It was much closer than he had anticipated. The sound was ear shattering as Kaine fell to the ground below him. The temporary deafness was interrupted by the impact of Kaine's body into a tent twenty feet below. The tent collapsed as he landed on boxes and barrels.

He grunted as he tried to stead himself, his blurry eyes focused on the battle he had earlier admired from a distance... for now he was right in the middle of it. PooDoo.

Time seemed to slow down as the bullets left their chamber. Slugs beamed through the air at blinding speed. Jayce's eyes only caught a glimpse as the smoke rose from the pistol. Jumping into the air, he spun like a top, his saber slicing through one of the cylindrical metals. One maimed his ear, causing it to bleed and burn. The last shot went straight for Levi's unconscious body. The Gray Jedi levitated in the air for a moment, and force pushed the bullet away from mysterious man, slamming just above his head. Landing back on his feet, Jayce looked to the woman with wine colored hair. Her backside was the last thing he saw before she turned the corner. Seeing as this person tried to kill him, the young man ran after her. The darkside taking back his irises, making them the same crimson coloration they were before. He wanted blood. It was unusual for him to lose control of his emotions, but it wasn't the first time this has happened. At the top of the stairway, he looked back at Levi's lifeless frame. Jayce was breathing heavily, the anger was causing him to regret letting the shadowy figure live. Taking a deep breath, he spoke. "Try to kill me again with another Darkshear, and I will end you." The presence of two darkside spears loomed over the stairs, they were pointing at the Gray Jedi. Of that, he was certain of. He soon sprinted after his victim. Her scent filled his nostrils and caused him to be blinded with rage.

Moving down the corridor, men started to come around every bend this mine fortress could offer. They aimed at Jayce and began to fire upon him. He darted to the left and seemed to flash right in front of a soldier. The violet blade sliced through him like butter. It entered through his stomach and exited out his head. The smoldering carcass slumped to the ground. Two more gang members invaded the hallway, only to be cut down in the same way. Jayce was nicked in the leg by a blaster shot, he seemed to be undisturbed by it. Walking towards these wannabes his saber was dragging on the ground, etching lines into it and causing sparks to fly. Rays of lavender entered the men's masks. Their heads falling to the floor, like a stone thrown into the sea.

Charging even further, he was met with a blast door. Gunshots soon followed and the sounds of glass breaking, made Jayce believe the girl was escaping. The violet saber was still lit, he plunged it into the door. Metal began to boil as the saber penetrated through it. The heat glazed over his hands, his eyes sharing the same burning sensation. Darkness was swallowing him, something he trained to keep under control.

<Jayce, you need to calm down.> The crystal seemed concerned. Jayce ignored it and began to carve a door into the blast door. <What will killing her do? It won't solve anything.>

It was almost finished. Cutting the bottom, the hot piece of alloy fell in front of the hot headed woman. His rose colored eyes stared at her with great ferocity. Every piece of his mind was saying to kill her, maim her and throw her into a chasm. "You have no honor. You shoot and run. I will enjoy watching my saber cut you into fine pieces." He slowly approached her, like a predator when it corners its prey. Blood running down his earlobe, onto his brown Icetromper jacket. This was a war zone, and it was about to get bloody. The help he sought earlier to stop the gangs seemed meaningless at this moment. Everyone was out for themselves. Now too, was Jayce.

Eran lay there stunned. He knew the Darkshears were there yet he saved my life? Eran had felt the bullet from the woman's pistol coming towards him, but at the last second, the stranger, whom he was prepared to kill, had moved the bullet away from him. Had Levi's story truly touched the man's heart? Eran had felt the anger in him as he was ready to strike them down, and it only grew to new heights after being fired upon by the woman whom he had now followed up the stairs in pursuit. Eran sat up, he stared up at the Darkshears and withdrew his energy to make them manifest. There was only one thing that ran through his mind now. You owe him one.

Eran rose to his feet, the thought of him being indebted to someone did not sit well with him. He would need to make things even between them, if he ever wanted to have the chance to kill him again. I don't even know his name, yet I owe him more than anyone has ever deserved from me. Eran turned around, before him were the four tunnels that lead out of this room. He heard all the commotion on the floor above him, and decided that was not the way he wanted to go right now. The stranger and the girl had also went that way, that would make things only more complicated, now that he would be forced to pick a side in that fight. He chose to go down the far left tunnel, it wasn't very far in that he had to get on his hands and knees to crawl further down the path. Eran began having to crawl uphill until he came to an opening, this path ended at a ledge overlooking what appeared to be a lounging area. Bottles of alcohol and magazines for rifles were scattered all around, yet no one was present. Eran dropped down into the empty space and took a look around the room.

What he saw shook him to the core, on a whiteboard in the front of the seating in the room was a diagram of the mine. It had notes all around it, detailing an attack pattern. Whoever had planned this, was clearly looking to win a battle of a huge scale. The main attack force would be under an area labeled as Benron's office, where multiple arrows were pointed, Eran assumed this was where most of the fighting was going to take place. They had even made a note, Easiest point of entrance of the mine, will most likely be exploited. All around the picture of the room, tiny rectangles were drawn on the edges. Another note read: We will dig in under Benron's office and hold until we know that most of them have arrived. Eran knew what they were instantly, bombs, they were going to detonate and collapse the room down upon their enemies head before the fight had even really begun. Any stragglers would be easy prey for the remaining forces to clean up.

Eran looked once more over the diagram on the whiteboard before wiping it away. No one else needs to know about this. Eran would hopefully have the advantage of knowledge of the situation should things turn for the worse. This entire trip had gone completely sideways. He was just here for Benron, and it had managed to turn into one of the most dangerous and trying adventures he had been on. Between the Jedi with the complicated aura, the trigger happy woman, and Kaine, the man still a mystery to Eran, he was just lucky to be alive at this point. He knew it wasn't over yet though and mentally prepared for what was to come.

Eran headed out the doorway and down the tunnel in front of him. The diagram had shown that further down here was the area under Benron's office, it was also the location of the explosive rigged room. he would come up from under the office and get to Benron that way. He would have to fight through some of his men no doubt, but the element of surprise would be his this time. As he walked further, sounds of gunfire caught his attention. The fighting had already begun and it was heated to say the least. He drew his cane and ignited it to its true form, the yellow glow of the lightsaber and its soft hum brought a sick sense of peace to Eran. He approached a small group of men held up in the back of the the assault force, they hadn't heard him come up behind them. He quickly disposed of them with a few slices of his lightsaber, none of them made any noise besides a quick but hushed yelp. He saw now that the two armies were on each side of the room, neither entering it, but the army that was intruding had come prepared. They were using mobile cover and pushing forward, they were now at the opposite edge of the room, fighting, looking for an opportunity to advance.

A loud crash caught Eran off guard, he saw glass fall from the ceiling in the room a bit ahead of him, it must have been coming from Benron's office. What followed, to Eran surprise, was a man, but it was not just any man, Kaine had come crashing down into the chamber. Eran couldn't believe, the thing he wanted to find most, had literally just fallen out of the sky for him. He had seen his face as he fell to the battle site of the two armies, it looked almost happy, like this was exactly what he had wanted to happen. It did not matter now though, Eran wouldn't make the same mistake twice. I won't let you get away this time. Eran still didn't know why Kaine was here, but one thing for sure, he had just come through Benron's office, so he might have the same interest as him.

"KAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE"

The name echoed through the mine as Eran screamed it, making sure that Kaine had heard it over all the chaos that was ensuing. Eran rushed forward, cutting down many of Benron's men that had been caught off guard. He struck many of them with lightning and deflected their shots back when they fired. His rage was his weapon, and it would bring him victory this day. He created two Darkshears almost instantly above his head and they trailed his quick pace. Eran had drawn from his greatest source of power for his upcoming attack, his own betrayal. Kaine right now was no better than his former master and friend. Eran surged into the room, the sound of lasers all around him, trying to end his life. Kaine was still on the ground where he had landed, Eran felt a dastardly smile fill his own face. He lifted his saber in the air, and will great force, swung down towards Kaine.

The metal bullet was released into the room, Kaine demonstrating a unruly well placed shot. It was odd to think that her own gun would wound her or worse, kill her. She bit down onto her bottom lip and squeezed the trigger as she rolled forward. The slugs slammed into each other as metal bits scattered about the room. Revy needed cover, not before two more shots were fired at her. This time, Revy found solace in his awful aim.
Quickly moving to the side she flipped a table over and heard the thud of both bullets impact. She peeked out from behind the table as glass poured down into the room. A loud screech reaching her ears. Metal doors sealing off the escape route Kaine had gotten away with. Her eyes narrowed in on him, her gun floating in the air as it skidded across the white tile flooring.
"Son of Bantha!"
With a hurdle she ran to retrieve her gun, shaking the cartridge loose she checked the ammo. Sinking her hands into her snow pants, she refilled it. Locking it back in place, she looked at the desk, a small device blinked. As she went to examine it she heard the sizzle, the purple vibrant blade seeping through the damaged door.
"Kark..."
She reached into her jacket as she waited for the blade to sear through the durasteel plating. Lighting a cig, she regained her composition. Both pistols aiming towards the door. The last melted piece of the blast door finally singed, clean in half. A true adversary before her. The lightsaber the man wielded was more than just for show. Surviving her shots from before meant he had a talent for deflecting, sensing projectiles in his wake. She sucked in as a cloud of smoke lifted to the air. The Jedi, or what used to be a Jedi approached her.
Revy couldn't think of a way out, she got herself into this mess anyway. Her hands were firm and as the man approached he lashed out, with words.
"Heh, honor...please." She bit down on her cancer stick, the idea of dying in such a awful room made her grin, the cig shifting to the other end of her mouth with her tongue. "So you're that mad about the slug from before? I was just getting warmed up honey, the only thing they'll find in pieces, heh, is you."
She looked to the device on the desk for a split second, the blinking began to rapidly pick up. It was at this moment she realized what the real threat was. She looked to the vicious force user before her. The device finally made sense, the Tundra Wolves had infiltrated the entire complex hours ago, it was just now that the Sledgers retaliated. An all out war and all of them were in the middle of it. She had yet to discover of Fren, but judging by the conflict and the operations entirety, he was probably dead. It was useless to think about her job, when the inevitable was about to happen. She no longer had to think about getting out of the situation, she had to survive it. Not because of the man before her, but the delayed explosive device attached to the desk, linked to other in their area. Revy couldn't spot them in the room, which left only one other option. Below them. This was no longer a cat and mouse game, it was a survival game.
Revy's eyes widened as the lightsaber wielding lunatic gained on her. She dropped her arms to the side, looking at the ground.
"I don't know who you are. Listen to me-" The loud rupture of the ground interrupted her, the warning falling short.
The device locked in and explosions ensued. The rumble shook the room and then like a dream an eruption of flames broke apart the ground they stood on. Metal flung through the room like a torrential whirlwind of pressure. Revy lifted to the air, dirt and specks of blood filled the air. Her back slammed into the cieling before falling into the haze of destruction below. A wide opening gap of falling stone and broken furnishings fell with her. Another explosion ripped through the space she began falling into, wooden beams breaking free as Benrons office crumbled in succession. A stake found her, lodging itself deep into her shin. In agony, descending to the ground she screamed. Her guns flocked to the air as she held her leg. The wooden stake made it clean through, tearing her muscle structure in seconds.
Her hair weaved through the wreckage as she landed at Kaine's feet, the loud snap of her rib, made her spit up blood, as she landed on her side. Blood poured from her mouth as she strained her stomach muscles. Tiny specks of metal also drilled into her shoulder, she wouldn't be able to fight with the wooden stake in her leg and without her guns, she was a sitting duck. With a mean struggle she tried to regain her sight, the blurry images of the chaos around her made her panic.
Kark me, what the hell is going on? I can't breath...
Her chest tightened as she began to hyperventilate. The burning pain from her leg wound continued to negate her will, to continue.
Breath Revy, bunch of Bantha's. They really know how to show a lady a good time, Karking Tundra Wolves. Damn, I had that Jedi too. Get this stake out of your leg Revy, come on!
Unaware of the what she fell into she pulled with all her might,her shoulder poking her like knives. The wooden stake released itself, blood filling the ground around her. She reached for her pocket and grabbed the cloth she had gotten from Lork, before setting out. Wrapping it around her wound, she felt a shift in her ribs, a scream escaping her lips as she fought to continue on.
My guns, poodoo.
She couldn't hold onto them after a massive explosion like that, rubble and stone still falling around her. Her eyes finally shifted back to normaility as she crawled on the ground, her hands sweeping through tiny rocks and weird pieces of paper. Blaster bolts filled the area, hell was no longer fake. She found them, her pistols laid quietly underneath a large fragmented piece of rock. Revy reached for them, her jacket torn from the explosion. Her snow pants were still intact though. Gripping her weapons she slowly stood, Kaine only a few feet away from her. Her lip drooled a line a of dark, red blood. She smiled.
"Found ya..."

Kaine's eyes shot to Eran, the mysterious combatant was darting his way, and worse it was apparent that he was the focus of his rage. This would normally be a situation Kaine found favorable, had he not just propelled himself from a window and landed into rubble. Eran darted towards him quickly, he must have found his way here from the staircase. Perhaps his plan had worked and he enticed all of the fighting around them. This was no time to hover on that thought, Eran's scream broke line of thought.

"KAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE"
This confirmed his suspicions, he was here for Kai. The darkness in the room grew, that's when Kaine realized the connection. I could not pinpoint what it was when I first met you, but now that I sensed that first invisible force attack upon our first meeting, I will not be surprised again. Kai could sense what felt like a massive energy trailing Eran, either one large attack or two, he needed to react before it was too late. Trying to meanuever now would be hopeless, he would simply adjust his attack before crushing me, I need to wait until the last possible second, so the commitment and follow through of the attack will give me time to regain my footing. The attack began it's decent. Kai waited until the absolute last possible moment before snapping the whip in his left hand, it secured itself around a wooded stake that had originally held up the tent. Pulling it with all his might, he powered himself forward as he was now inches from Eran's chest. The stake quickly shattered under the weight of the force used. The cane, if it continued the follow through, would strike the rubble behind him. The proximity he was to Eran ensured that if the invisible attacks took a straight shot to Kai, they would have to pass through Eran first. Kaine's eyes sunk into a dark crimson as his free hand was channeling an attack through his palm. Force push!

BOOM

As if he correlated his timing, a bomb exploded above him in Benron's office. The inhabitants of which fell to the battle scene before him. The splintered wood seemed to have been an unfavorable cushion for his crimson haired stalker. He watched as she pulled the spikes from her and blood began to flow. This was his chance. She was looking for her pistols and he needed to upper hand with two enemies who were obviously not push overs. Wielding Kaine's lash was an art. Being able to utilize it not just for straight forward attacks, but as an extension of himself was something that gave him an edge over a saber. Kaine swung his arm, and in turn, his whip behind him and wrapped his blades securely around a thermal detonator. Than as if he was throwing it himself, he maneuvered his arm as if he was throwing a ball, but instead a whip flew through the air towards his huntress, sending the bomb straight at her. Her pistols were now held tightly in her hands. This was his last shot the explosion in her state would be hard to dodge- Kain flicked his wrist sending a wave down the whip as he clicked on his light whip. The red light danced to the tip of the whip. -especially if it exploded early. The whip made contact with the detonator. For the second time in a few seconds, the deafening sound of an explosion echoed through the mine.

Both of these enemies left themselves momentarily exposed, it was Kaine's job to exploit it.

The alignment in the force had been broken. Rage had filled every section of his mind, being so close just for it to be taken away. The woman's words only fueled the fire that was on her funeral pyre. Jayce began to walk closer to his enemy, his eyes gleaming with crimson, taking on the form of flames. A loud boom erupted in the Gray Jedi's ears. The command room that belonged to one of the dead bodies, began to crumble into into boulders of concrete and durasteel. Each shard smashed into Jayce as his feet lost the ground beneath them. The lights flickered and exploded as the area began to collapse in on itself. The smell of iron flooded the air, his blood, her blood and anyone who was underneath the room. Jayce landed on a new surface, only for rubble to touch down on him.

The dust settled. A large section in the middle of the war-zone was now stones, metal and blood. Non of the gang members paid any attention to what happened in the center of their battle. Bloodthirsty beasts, killing each other for selfish reasons. Men following the orders of anarchists, in hopes of a better life. It was all futile in the end. No one was leaving this place alive. This was the new reality. Amidst the rubble was a hatred. A hatred that was growing more furious, growing more lustful for the scent of scorching bodies. The rocks began to shake. Bang

An outburst of the force tossed the chucks of debris away, killing everyone they landed upon. Silence spread throughout the battlefield. A dark aura leaked out from the spot, where Jayce had fallen. Chills ran down one of the soldier's spine. He walked closer to the hole, where the rocks shot from. Peering into the abyss, he rose from the ground. Clawing at his neck, he looked down at Jayce, flames illuminating the Gray Jedi's face. The fire was coming from his eyes, his teeth made bare. The gang member began to squirm, his feet thrashing in the arm. Jayce gazed at his prey and slowly twisting his wrist. A crack rang throughout the fortress. Tundra Wolves and Sledgers alike, stop dead in their tracks.

The young man was the focal point of everyone's attention. Levi, the mysterious man and woman, were all present. Jayce watched as the man he followed here cracked a light whip, flinging a thermal detonator at the woman who tried to shoot the Gray Jedi. Extending his hand, Jayce force gripped the explosive and tossed it into a large group of Tundra Wolves. It detonated and erupted with a fiery passion. The southeast corner of the room was a gaping hole, flurries of snow emerged from the new addition in the roof. More of the ceiling began to collapse on top of the wannabe soldiers, east of the bombing zone. The Gray Jedi stood there, relishing in what he had wrought. Grinning, laughter seeped out from behind his teeth. He stared at the pack of people who have brought him nothing but misery since he arrived in to this poodoo hole. The words of his Kyber crystal were lost in a void of darkness, becoming mute. Nothing but the word Kill, buzzing through his head.

"Your lives belong to me." Madness spreading from him like a plague. Strangling the minds of the weak.

Eran stood up, the force push had knocked him down and taken the wind out of him. Eran heard the screams of the soldiers on opposite ends of the room, many of them were holding their heads in agonizing pain. The Jedi who once had two auras, now had been fully enveloped in one, the dark side had taken over. He was emitting force insanity on the weaker minds all around them. The dynamic had been changed, this was no longer a war, but instead a fight for survival. Eran felt the force insanity creep into Levi's mind, he let it seep in, Levi wasn't going to feel it anyway. Eran put up defenses for the portion of the mind he was in control of. His mind raced as he tried to think of a way out of this. There isn't one this time, if I want to survive, I must fight.

Eran knew he wasn't a match for the Jedi on his own, the only one around that seemed to be able to comprehend the dire situation that they were in now was Kaine. The woman next to them, was in bad shape, she had taken the brunt of the the damage from the fall it seemed, Eran didn't know how her mind would react to the force insanity that was destroying the minds of all the soldiers around them. As far as he knew, she had no force training, and based on her weapons of choice, this only reinforced his original thought. He had to try something drastic though, the Jedi was out for blood and the number of available targets were very limited. He used his telepathy towards Kaine and the woman.

<You two, it's no secret we aren't each others favorite people right now, we've all been through our share of crap tonight. I don't know what you are thinking right now, but the only thing that matters though is the Jedi. He has gone mad, the dark side has taken over and shattered his balance. Now if you want to leave this mine alive, we have to work together. I don't know how strong he is, but we have to wear him down regardless, when he has been exhausted enough, we will have a chance to take him down. The darkness will cloud his mind from reasoning, the only thing to do is fight. On the count of three, I need both of you to follow my lead.>

<One.>

Eran hoped that his message had gotten through to the woman, and that Kaine recognized the need to put aside their differences to win this fight. Eran still had his two Darkshears ready to go, they were now pointed towards the corrupt Jedi, he readied his lightsaber in his right hand, while powering his left with force lightning.

<Two.>

He needed to focus, if he made any mistakes here, he would be swiftly punished by his opponent. He had one very important thing over his enemy right now though, a level head, that would be his advantage in this fight. He would exploit the Jedi's rage and wear him out.

<Three.>

Eran's mind went to Eonar and Anthony, his former master and friend, and how they had betrayed him so long ago. Then his mind shifted, it went to Levi, and how this fight was not just for him, but his host as well. If I am cut down, he will pay the price for my actions as well. To Eran that was unacceptable, he would not allow Levi to suffer the consequences of this night.

<Attack!>

Eran bolted forward, not caring if the other two had complied, he launched force lightning from his left hand and one of the Darkshears towards his opponent. The lightsaber was ready for a counter attack from the Jedi as he approached him. In one fluid motion the assault had begun, I said I owe you one stranger for saving my life before. Now I have an opportunity to repay my debt. I will save you from yourself, even if that means I must bring you down.

The small pieces of stone continued to fall from around her. Bolts of energy sliced through the air as the gang war continued. The commotion was too much to keep track of. The only thing Revy could focus on was the closet person to her, Kaine. She shook, her body feeling numb, the loss of blood and the rib injury began to grow sensitive. Underneath her clothing the shattered bone caused a giant purple mark, a sharp tip poking out from the side. Biting down she ground her teeth, saliva slipping through her teeth as she controlled her breathing. Even with all her injuries she found the strength to hold her pistols firmly in front of her.

Revy stepped forward, the cloth wrapped around her left shin, soaked in red. A sign of bleeding, that if couldn't be stopped, would take her out of the fight. She wouldn't have it, now wouldn't be the time to deal with it, unfortunately.

"You son of Bantha!"

The whip took a hold of another thermal detonator, it flew through the air, gunning for Revy's face. At that moment, shards of concrete erupted from behind her. Large stone breaking against the wall, killing both Sledgers and Tundra Wolves alike. Heads were ripped from their host and legs stripped of their owners as Revy tried to duck, she couldn't the pain was too much to bare. The shifting bone within, force her to stand still, her pistols wavering as her arms lost their firmness.

The eruption of rubble wasn't the true danger, what came next was clearly a different beast of its own. The detonator was seconds from exploding as she took aim to prematurely make it explode. Clamping down on the trigger, she hesitated, the explosive ripped from her reality and sent flying to the far east end wall. A burst of frigid snow sprinkled in, some men cheering in the distance.

Why can't I get this lucky at Sabacc? Whatever the hell that was...Thank you.

She tried to process it, her arms swayed back and forth as the pain began to impact her. Revy tried to hold them up, but couldn't. Her hands fell to the side, the pistols latched on to by her fingers. Revy conserved her strength, at any moment someone would attack. Revy's eyes glanced to her peripheral, a dark entity looming over them all. It's eyes were a bright red, what used to be a Jedi was no longer. If Revy had been born force sensitive she would have had realized the darkside was more prevalent now than ever. Only, this was different, the intent in the man's eyes, or what was left of a human, told her the story of a killer, a maniac. A maniacal laugh reached the battlefield, the tendrils of the darkside reaching out to grab all that were enthralled in the demon's clutches.

Holy poodoo....This guy has lost it.

Like a snake it lunged, the venomous fangs of the darkside began to plant its seed within her mind. The swirling energy of the force, flooding her with a voidless pit. Dropping to her knees her eyes went lifeless, images beginning to play in her mind. She was lost, all telepathic attempts blocked, by the corruption of the darkside. Revy turned stiff, like a stone statue, motionless and useless. Revy was dropped into the heart of darkness, the only visitor greeting her with a frightening nightmare,

"Why did you kill me?" The young girl said, staring at Revy with jewels like the sea.

Revy was completely crushed, crying she called out in a burst of emotion.

"SISTER!!!!"

Demorilzed, the insanity began to set in, wounds no longer mattered, life no longer existed. The only thing that she remembered played in her mind, faintly like a whisper.

Demons were real....

The tale was unraveling before his eyes, his options were limited, the crazed thoughts entered his mind. He tired to fight the force insanity, his mental defenses were rising to his aid as thoughts began to enter his mind. Fight along side Eran- take out the other two while they're weakened by the insanity- run away with your grimiore, it's what you came here for....how about you just use it. A quiet chuckle echoed while he tried to determine which thoughts were his own, and which ones were insanity. He used his analytical mind to process his choices, his mind dancing with the idea of using his newly obtained asset. Why wouldn't I use such a powerful tome, I can't think of a logical reason not to, it's my only choice. Kaine's right hand reached behind and clinched the battered pages from his back. He brought the grimiore to his chest. Kaine deactivated his lash and secured it on his belt, he was going to need all of his focus to flip through the book. Kaine paused as his fingers caressed the cover, something was holding him back, but it didn't matter. Words started to reveal themselves along the bottom of the cover, they needed to be spoken to open the pages. "Shea no palra amore detra.." Kaine whispered to himself. Opening the cover his thoughts screamed in confines of his consciousness. No don't! You'll awaken the Dwomutsiqsa!

The Dwomutsigsa was a smoke demon entrapped within the grimiore. It was a safeguard to those who wished to access the power the pages contained. It was summoned upon an unauthorized caster speaking the incantation aloud. It would manifest itself to the casters worst fear. Kaine started to panic as the smoke drifted from the pages towards his eyes. He was frozen, unable to react, his mental defenses were completely down. His eyes slowly shut as the demon and insanity took control of his mind.

~~~~~~~~~~
The combination of the insanity and the demon manifested itself as a dark abyss. There was nothing except for a mirror. He walked towards the mirror yet something was off, he crossed his arms yet he had not willed it, his reflection smirked but his face felt stoic. His body was being controlled by an external source, he was a prisoner, a simple vessel in his own body. He felt himself screaming, yet nothing happened. He tried to thing of anything, letters simply jumbled in his mind. That's when the mirror spoke to Kaine.
"For centuries Sorcerers have used me to guard their secrets and scare those who trespassed. I manifested in front of my targets and ripped them apart limb form limb, or broke their hearts, whatever they feared most." Kai's reflection tried to crack his neck and fingers as he stretched, it was some time since he was last called for combat. "Of course as you can see I am not before you. The force insanity has granted me passage to your mind. Normally you force users are untouchable..." Kaine felt pain blast threw him. His reflection grinned wickedly at Kaine as Kai felt fear he had long forgotten. " but now your soul and flesh are fair game."
If Kaine could scream and flail he would, instead he found himself speaking telepathically to a demon within his mind. Out of options was Kaine's greatest fear. The grimiore containing this Dwomutsiqsa was intended to be opened in a controlled environment. The insanity must have intermingled itself within his thoughts before he came to his conclusion. Most of Kaine's mind was locked away somewhere he couldn't access, this was a fate worse than death.
"Release me!" Kaine mustered a response to his inner demons, he laughed as he acknowledged the begging.
"That's so funny Kaine, the situation before you is so clouded and obvious. You have so many choices, even in this circumstance, but it seems the force insanity is pulling you every which way....tick tock Kaine. If you don't figure this out soon.....you will cease to exist." The sinister laugh played on a loop as Kaine tried to make sense. His problem was he needed to seperate himself from the insanity to try to take on the Demon. Why would he tell me that? Kaine questioned himself for reason. Because it adds to your fear, having just enough information to fail adds to your panic. I feel it growing! Kaine tried to move but couldn't, he tried to move his body but it wouldn't listen. He couldn't understand why he lost control, than everything started slowly piecing itself together. The clues, the taunts, not being able to move forward. Kaine stepped back form the mirror, it was proven, fear began to engulf what he had left of his mind. I'm not looking at the mirror, I'm trapped inside it!
The demon needed to keep Kai as far from the exit as he could to allow him to banish his soul into darkness. The mirror was his salvation, yet he could not push forward. It appeared the demon could not solidify his position, or else he would not waste his time with his taunting, he would simply take over Kaines body.
It appears I have figured out your scheme, and you can not make my physically withdraw without my adherence. Now it all made sense. The mirror's image matched his own. The demon is trying to walk away from the glass, if Kaine has the same thought the body will retreat, if the thoughts are conflicting the body stays in place. Without the demons approval and Kaine's surrender they were trapped eternally in Kaine's mind. This was where Kaine needed to be, in a situation that stopped spiraling to give him a chance to think, of course not even that was a private task anymore.
I need to challenge him to something I can beat him at. The demon laughed as he rifled through Kaine's mind. "Ha! there isn't anything you can beat me at when I have access to your whole brain while you are limited to a conciseness the spell has granted you. Chess, Kaines mind thought. He instantly regretted this thought as a table, board and chairs manifested themselves through the mirror. Half of the table appeared underwater as it was on the other side of the realm. Kaine and his reflection sat down simultaneously and pulled their chairs forward. The demon had access to all of his advanced strategies while he could barely remember the moves they were capable of. I guess you wanted this to be your game of chance, it wouldn't have manifested itself without both of our consent otherwise. Kaine knew this to be true. He could not think of a strategy, he needed to trust his instincts so his moves could not be predicted.
The game of Speed chess commenced as him and his counter part moved pieces around the board, Kaine was at a severe disadvantage as he kept losing pieces and he kept moving the pawn towards the other end of the board. His gut kept pushing him to move that piece. There was no board position to be gained, and he lost plenty every wasted turn. They took turns controlling the arms as they played the match of their life. Kaine saw he was a single move from checkmate. If he moved the pawn to the end of the board, he recieved any piece he wanted, but he would lose on the following turn. The alternative was to guard the king and spare himself more time before being banished into the abyss. Kaine grabbed the pawn as the devil taunted him. This is it, it's finally over, make your move Kaine and accept your fate. Kaine moved the piece with purpose, his hand now on the threshold of the mirror. CHECKMATE!
Kaine was now touching the mirror, it was his way out of this prison, he grabbed the claws of the beast before him. Upon contact his reflection shifted into a fiend with yellow eyes and fangs three inches long. Kaine's wrist was secured, he was now in control. He pulled himself into the same realm of the demon, his subconscious had guided him to the path of victory. Kaine punched the demon as it stumbled towards the realm of despair. The beast held on to the edges, struggling to stay in the fight, but it was too late. Kaine was back where he belonged and had access to his database once more. He knew what he had to do. Enjoy watching from your eternal prison. You will be there the rest of your existence!
~~~~~~~~~~

Kaine's eyes opened as he saw the crumbling cave around him. Eran was charging the mad Jedi either from the insanity or his will to live. The scarlet crusader was lost within her own penitentiary of misery. The mad Jedi was on his blood lust of a crusade, destroying those around him, he needed to be stopped. Kaine's hands, unbeknownst to him, were flipping through the ancient text until they stopped and pointed to a spell. Kaine's eyes looked down at the faded pages with the text inked in ever so carefully. As he trusted in his body he pointed his left hand straight out in front of him. His thumb and first two digits standing straight up as his last two fingers curled to his palm. His eyes burned red as orange outlined the outside of his pupil, the rage and power was being summoned from within.

"ODOJINYA!" the words projected themselves from his vocal cords, the deep call coincided with a dark web circling the Jedi. The dark odojinya web was ancient sith magic that would sever the victim from the force for the duration of the ability. The caster would also sap his power while the dark strands secured his target. Trusting in his newly obtained spell, he spoke the word that would stop this crazed man right in his tracks. "BIND!" The dark web shrunk towards his target, the outcome was inevitable.

His mind was a vortex of hatred and anger. All light that entered was soon swallowed by the massive black hole that was the darkside. This proved that he was still a learner, that he was still an apprentice and his emotions could still run wild. Jayce often prided himself in the ability to use both sides of the force. The harmony that swirled inside him was once pure and calm. Now it was engulfed in madness. His vessel had taken on a mind of its own. The darkside had become the young man, he became a witness to destruction and chaos. Powers that he had never used before had sprung out of no where. Force Choke and Insanity were not his abilities. In truth, he had wanted to learn all of the force had to offer, but not like this. Never wanting power to kill armies in such a way, nor killing innocents who happened to be there against their will. He wanted the power to learn and connect with the balance. It was something, he believed, that was necessary for the future of the galaxy. It was his destiny to make a line in the sand, that can not and will not be crossed. Defending people from the Jedi and Sith to preserve the natural order. Now he had become the thing he was fighting against, something that could destroy life. In his mind, he had fallen to his knees and cried out to whoever was listening. Save me, stop me from causing more destruction.

On the outside world, the body of Jayce Vitalus was in the midst of a battle. The man known as Levi, charged at him with force lightning in one hand and a saber in the other. The Darkshears forming and pointing at the soulless man. Looking into the Levi's onyx orb eyes, Jayce's face made an eerie smile. The burning flames for eyes seemed to understand everything the young man was planning to do. Raising his left arm into the air, flatting his hand and releasing his ebony Electric Judgement at Levi's Force Lightning. The black tendrils connected, sparked and sent hot embers crashing to the ground. The power of these men sat in the air, struggling for dominance. Jayce's vessel soon felt the presence of the Darkshear coming for him, it raised his left hand and used a force barrier to block the attack. Jayce himself did not perfect his barrier technique effectively yet, but it was indeed one of his abilities. Though the darkside was amplifying his powers, it did not matter. The Darkshear collided with the palm of his hand and ripped through it and smash into his left shoulder blade. Blood spewing out and flowing to the floor. Hatred rushed through him even faster than before. A loud yell slipped from the mad man's lips, his right knee crashing to the ground. The lightning that battled in the sky began to retract back to Jayce's body. The vessel pulled itself together, rising from the ground and ignoring whatever pain it was feeling. Madness seeping deeper and deeper. The impostor, pretending to be Vitalus, shouted at Levi. "You think you have won, you are blind. I will force your eyes open!" It began to pump more power into the onyx colored tendrils of light. It was forcefully pushing Levi's lightning backwards towards him.

Laughter enveloped the arena, where these two man were standing, it was coming from Jayce. The eyes of the impostor looked upon the man standing behind Levi, he was chanting something to himself. A Grimoire laid out in his palms. The darkside embed Jayce, couldn't hear what the man was saying, but it didn't feel good. Suddenly, the ebony lightning was cut off, Jayce rolled from where he was originally standing. The arch of Levi's lightning ran into the gang members fighting in their minds behind the Gray Jedi. Dark matter started to form around Jayce's body. It spun like a quarter on its side, the force being swept away with it. Shaping into a sphere, the black substance swallowed him. The real Jayce felt it, the shift in control. A key presented itself to him in his mind, and unlocked his chains of madness. The astral projection of Jayce was fighting back the darkness and sending it back down from where it came. Looking towards two giant white globes that stood before him, he knew what they represented. His eyes.

The vessel cried out, smashing the walls of the inky contraption. It tried to force push it away, but nothing happened. His connection was cut, as it faded, so too did the insanity. Everyone in the room who was affected by Force Insanity soon began to wake up from their trauma. Pools of sweat and blood were the only remnants of what happened. They saw their friends and foes, and were revealed to see their fears were no longer made manifest. The gang war seemed to be having a momentary peaceful break.

More screams ensued, but it was coming from the actually Jayce. The pain slowly crept into his mind, where it originally was cut off. Blood still gushing from his shoulder and palm. The Gray Jedi's eyelids closed on the flaming red eyes and reopened back to their natural electric blue. The darkside had receded and slammed into the metaphorical pool inside the young man's body.

It was finally over. He was free from the prison that was in his mind. Jayce Ragnos Vitalus, had returned.

Eran stood in awe at the sight before him, the Jedi seemed to have regained control of his delicate balance. He was screaming in agony over the wound that Eran had inflicted with his Darkshear. The Jedi's power seemed to have rescinded as fast as it had appeared. I wasn't the one to stop him though. Kaine chanted some words and he collapsed almost instantly. He turned around to meet Kaine's eyes, he saw a grin, he had accomplished something great just then. He was holding a tome of some sort in his hand, possibly the source of his newfound power. Eran wasn't entirely sure what had happened but his best guess was that Kaine had found the item that brought both of them to the mine in the first place. The power that it held was obviously great to incapacitate a Jedi within seconds. As much as I would like nothing more than to leave here with that kind of power, I think it would be best just to be able to leave in one piece. Eran was willing to fight if it came to that, but he did not know what other secrets the tome might have. He knew when he was at a disadvantage, and right now his mind was actually somewhere else entirely, Levi.

Eran found himself thinking of his host, it never really occurred to him what he was actually doing to Levi, taking control over his mind, causing him to lose huge gaps of time to himself. If Levi knew of me, what would he do? Eran wasn't sure he was ready for the answer to that question yet. With the heated battle, over, Eran decided it was time to clear the air, after all, the people around him seemed to be victims of circumstance too. It was possible that everything that had happened would have gone completely different if they had all just been civil to start. Eran was guilty as well, deception by him was just as much to blame as anything else. He turned to the Jedi, still in pain, and pulled out two bandages from his utility belt, crouched down and handed them to the Jedi, "Use these to stop the bleeding. it should just be a flesh wound, through and through. If it's any consolation, I was never going to kill you, and since I was not the one to bring you back from the brink, I still owe you one. By the way, what's your name?"

Eran knew what he was doing, his drive for anger and revenge had not disappeared, but it was not towards these people. His resolve had been slightly shaken, thinking of Levi had brought him to a revelation. He had been angry for so long, that he never thought about anything else most of the time. He would still harness his anger and strive towards the dark side, but perhaps not everyone was an enemy. He couldn't fight everyone that he met on his journey, that would only lead to his death, tonight taught him that, if the Jedi had not saved him, he wasn't sure if would still be here. He had to survive in order to gain the power he desired, and that meant choosing his battles more carefully.

Eran stood up and turned to the female that had been a mystery this entire night. She looked shaken, like she had seen a ghost. Eran walked over to her, hoping to be able to snap her out of it. He put his hands on her shoulders, "Are you alright? I don't believe we've had the chance to meet, I'm the body that was on the ground that you almost shot, Eran, nice to meet you." Eran looked towards her eyes, so that she could see that everything was going to be alright, no matter what she had just gone through. She seemed like a strong girl, to have been pursuing Kaine, she had to be. Eran placed a bandage in her hand as well, her shin looked like it desperately needed medical attention. "This should work for now, but you will need to see a doctor soon."

Lastly Eran walked over to Kaine, the man with the plan, it would seem. He kept at an arms length, to show that he was not going to try anything. Kaine seemed calm, Eran guessed it was due to the fact that he had just eliminated the most dangerous threat in this mine. "We are quite alike, you know, cold, calculating, hungry for power. We'd make a great team." Eran let out a small laugh at the thought, he was sure that if that ever happened, there wouldn't be a dull moment. "I see you got what you came for, that was quite the impressive display of power. I know that I have no right after what I did tonight to ask this. Is there any chance that we could start over perhaps?" Eran outstretched his arm with an open hand, "Nice to meet you, I'm Eran."

As Eran awaited a response from Kaine, all the men were at the edge of the tunnel had regained mental stability. One of them, dressed in battle armor, a leader of this makeshift army of some sort, held in his hand the detonator for the explosives that lined the wall of the chamber Eran and the others stood in. All that the man could think of was how horrible an experience that he had just endured, and who had caused it. He stared at the Jedi who had struck terror into his mind and caused him agony in ways he did not think possible. He yelled as he found his focus. "Kill the four in the middle, let none of them leave here alive." As he finished his command, and the bullets had begun firing again, he pushed the detonator. The roof of the central room shook as the explosive charges went off one after another. He was going to make that room their tomb.

The constant reverberation of her mind, tapped loudly. Torn and scattered, her heart fell deeper into despair. There wasn't much that got to Revy, but when it came to the past, it ate at her, constantly looming over her future. Like most bounty hunters or mercenaries, she had done some bad things. One of them was worse than the rest, her faulty assumptions, leading to the young girl's death, that now stood in front of her. The soft, white dress, fluttered in the wind, just like it always had when she wore it. Her long black hair, straightened and well kept, her pale doll-like face, shining through the darkness. It was her sister, Jasmine. Revy couldn't believe her eyes. The last time she saw Jasmine was years ago, trapped and tortured, by Revy's own bidding. Of course that wasn't entirely true, the story was washed away, locked farther within her.

The question came again.

"Why did you Kill me?" Jasmine asked.

"I....I....you..Wouldn't understand, please...Jasmine.." Revy said, barely capable of making words. she sucked up the tears, baffled at the sight.

Then it happened, a streak of dark red filled the room. Blood leaking from Jasmine's heart, trapped and frozen, Revy began to turn frightened, her heavy breathing causing more anxiety. Jasmine backed away and vanished. The room filled with blood, swallowing Revy's waist. Screams from all around began to surface, all the people she killed blaming her as they laughed.

"No....No.....NO!" Revy shook, her body flailing inside her own mind to break free. Right when the madness was about to fully take her over, everything stopped. The world Revy had left behind, sprung into view. Her knees dug into the stone below her as she lifted her hands. The guns that caused her the nightmare, shining back at her. They were the reason for such a surreal experience. Unaware of what really happened she looked around. Kaine seemed to have had the book from before, large and black. The tiny needles of the darkside that were left over whispered to her one last time.

Failure...

Revy couldn't comprehend it all, she hadn't thought to see her sisters grave in years, mainly due to her own selfish reasons. That no longer was acceptable, wiping the tears from her cheek she felt a hand reach her shoulder. Refusing to react in violence, she had enough, broken and suffering from injuries beyond repair. She tuned to look over her shoulder at the man before her.

"Eran. Heh. Sorry about earlier. Had no choice. The name's Revy, others call me Two Hands." Revy grinned, raising the pistols higher to explain the nickname. "And for the record, those bullets weren't meant for you."

The chaos had subsided for only a moment, when a giant explosion from above began to descend onto them, men charging their way.

"Well kark me...."

It had worked, there was truly something to be said about the innovations of the ancient sith magic. The dark jedi came back to reality as Eran attempted to smooth everything over between the group. It seemed to be working, Eran stood before him offering the truce he never had a chance to except. Kaine nodded, it appeared that Eran's features were softer. The enraged boy that attacked him was gone, and a man who truly wanted to make amends resided i his place. Kaine's eye glanced towards the other two as he realized they were all battered, beaten and hurt. What sense would it make to keep fighting amongst each other. Just went it appeared there would be a clear cut path out of danger while in possession of his tome, a man projected his voice through the cave.

Kill the four in the middle eh? It would appear that the suggested alliance would in fact be solidified. There were so many man, maddened by the insanity they had suffered at the hands of the force wielder. Kaine turned to face the onslaught of men that were darting towards them. With a wave of his hand the Odojinya threads surrounding his victim had vanished. If they were to survive this fight they needed all the strength they could muster, and the web was only weakening his ally. Kai tucked the Grimiore behind his back as he would not have time to look for answers, he would have to rely on his own personal skill set to make it out alive. An explosion echoed through the mine as the reverberations enhanced the sound of the bombs overhead. The ceiling started to collapse, they needed to move quickly.

"RUN!" He sprinted towards the gangs, they had yet to triggers the detonators over their side of the cave. It was the only option, Kaine was too mentally exhausted to outsmart the blasts. His rage fueled him, his body carried him and his lash would punish them. His right hand grasped the handle as he drew his weapon of choice. The rubble started falling behind him. These four marauders may be too weak to fight to the death with each other, but this gang members would be a piece of cake. As he ignited his whip, the sadistic look struck fear into those before him. The build up anger that had accumulated from the moment he entered the quarry was about to be unleashed, as they were about to be added to the ever growing number of casualties this mine would suffer tonight.

The pain was unbearable. His one cracked rib turned into six, and his left arm was completely useless. Every bone in his body felt bruised, every muscle was strained from overuse. Blood started to rise up from his throat and Jayce began to cough. Things looked grim for the Gray Jedi. He was in bad shape, all eyes were on him now, he was the reason for the madness that still loomed in the air. The woman he was chasing was slowly coming out of the Force Insanity, also, the Tundra Wolves and Sledgers started to rise up from the floor. They were relieved to be out of their nightmarish visions, knowing now, who was the true enemy. One man took the initiative and pointed to Jayce and the people who encompassed him. For the first time, both the Wolves and Sledgers had a common opponent. Everyone in the center of the room was marked for death.

Levi approached, seeing the pain splintering through him, the young man gave Jayce bandages for his arm. The Gray Jedi's blue eyes shook in disbelief, he thought Levi was coming to finish him off.

"Use these to stop the bleeding. it should just be a flesh wound, through and through. If it's any consolation, I was never going to kill you, and since I was not the one to bring you back from the brink, I still owe you one. By the way, what's your name?"

Jayce knew who stopped him, it was the man behind Levi, the mysterious sorcerer who put up a spell that cut off the force. Jayce grabbed the bandages and started to wrap his wounds. "Th...thank you. My name is Jayce Vitalus."

It was an unexpected turn, the beginning of the adventure was chaotic, friendship seemed unlikely. Rolling over on his back, Jayce began to call upon the force. It swirled with him once more, unbalanced, but there. He called to the lightside. "Forgive me, please. Give me the strength to heal these wounds." A light glowed inside him. The pain began to numb, but his arm remained unusable. His bones were still broken, bruised and possibly fractured. The pain was all that subsided. He rose from the ground. Blood slipping from wounds that were hidden and sprinkled on the floor.

"At least I can move again." Jayce's left arm dangled next to his side. The whiteness of the wraps provided by Levi, were completely soaked and red now. Overhearing the discussion next to him, the woman's name was revealed. Her name was Revy. All that was left, was to apologize and hope for forgiveness. Jayce began to limp over to Revy, blood still trickling down his frame. Suddenly, the room began to shake.

"RUN!" the sorcerer cried out.

The ceiling began to crumple, bangs and booms sounded through the fortress. Jayce saw the sorcerer, running towards the gangs to the west. "Time for one last trick," he said as he began to run from the east side to the center of the room. As he was sprinting, Jayce extended his right arm and force pushed Revy and Levi towards the west side area.

I need to make it. I need to outrun the debris.

A giant chuck of the ceiling came crashing down on top of the Gray Jedi. Just seconds before the impacted, he tucked, rolled and force pushed himself away from the spot. Landing on top of one of the gang members, he grabbed his saber from his belt. The violet blade erupted, thus beginning Jayce's carving spree. Tundra Wolf and Sledger alike, were hacked to bits.

This will be the final battle.

Eran's body lurched forward, he put out his hands to catch himself just before hitting the ground. He turned back, what was once an opening to the room they were just in, was now a wall of snow and rock that had collapsed only seconds ago. Jayce had used force push to get him out of the way of the rubble that was crashing down. Jayce barely made it out of the room alive, having dove into the tunnel where they all were now. Kaine was already dealing with the soldiers that were stationed on this end. He uses a whip, how curious. It was a strange choice in weaponry, but none the less effective, he handled it with as much ease as Eran did with a lightsaber. The screams of the soliders brought a smile to Eran's face, his calm demeanor having diminished to the thought of having enemies to slay once more. He stood up and ignited his lightsaber and dashed into the fray.

"I can't let you have all the fun." Eran said, as he passed Kaine.

Eran allowed himself to tap into his anger, and a Darkshear appeared above him, he launched it far down into the tunnel, hitting a sniper that was attempting to pick them off. As he went for one of the portable covers that the soldiers had brought, he charged his left hand with energy. He stood up and the tunnel flashed as he unleashed his force lightning upon the group of soldiers in front of him. He felt a great deal of pleasure as their lifeless bodies collapsed. Though, as easy as these barely trained soldiers were to kill, their numbers would be trying, They're probably holed up all the way to the exit by this point. They had come prepared for a war this night, and getting through all of them would be no small feat. The next thing Eran heard sent chills down his spine.

"RELEASE THE WHITEFANGS!"

Eran heard what sounded to be multiple cage doors slam open from around the corner of the tunnel, followed swiftly by the sound of a small stampede. Anywhere from twenty to thirty Pantran whitefangs rounded corner and charged straight for them. Their teeth glared and they snarled at their newfound prey, a few of them veered off and attacked the soldiers, clearly having no true allegiance to them. The bulk of the pack however, was approaching rapidly and there wasn't a moment to lose. Eran readied himself for the new enemies. He backed up to Kaine, in order to strengthen their defense. The first few whitefangs had already closed the gap and were ready to strike. Eran swung into the group with his lightsaber, cutting some of them down with ease. One lunged forward through the air towards Eran and he shot a Darkshear through it, and caught another one on it as it landed.

Between the whitefangs in their faces, and the lasers coming at them from the soldiers that occupied the tunnel with them, it was all a bit much "We need a plan, and fast, they outnumber us 30 to one. We can't do this forever, so I'm open to suggestions." Eran hoped one of them could come up with something, because his power was starting to wane, and Eran didn't want to be in the middle of this war when it was completely gone.

Men, twenty of them. Charged forward, like crusaders marching for an unjust cause. The thought of killing them one by one with her bullets made her grin, but her body wouldn't allow it. Battered from the events that transpired, Revy's left arm refused to move, the pellets of pure steel crunching as she tried, obviously bone.

With effort from her right arm she lifted the gun. A loud scream resonating throughout.

"Run!" Kaine yelled.

On top of the charging Wolves and Sledgers, the stone quarry's structure aiming to take her life. Like magic she was swept upward, her body twisting through the air as her knee arched up wards. Revy could feel it again, the sudden hot knife, that was her rib poking her in the side. A nasty grunt escaping her lips as she softly landed and her outward leg. The demonic Jedi from before had saved her life, again.

She placed her arch knee back to the ground, skidding across the dirt floor from the pressure that slammed into her. It looked worse than terrible for them all, as another threat arose from the deeper tunnels, Whitefangs.

The beasts charged as Revy lifted her right arm once more, trying to will her self backwards from the reckless creatures. One leaped through the flurry of charging men, sharp teeth baring as it went to swallow her whole. Luckily, her body cooperated with her as Revy side stepped in orderly fashion, pressing the barrel of her gun against it's small opening, the ear. The sweet sound of her slug tore through the Whitefang's head, the tearing and rupture snapping loudly as it roared with a vicious end. Blood sprayed from the other end of the beasts head as the slug twisted outward, killing another unexpected threat behind it. A man dropping to the floor as more sweet, wine, colored blood spilled out.

The rocks from above closed off their escape and more were coming in, the only thing left to do was use her own trump cards. She always had them on hand, hidden away on her utility belt, rested, disc shaped grenades, capable of traveling great distances with little effort. Serrated blades poked out from their sides once activated, making it a vicious tool for lodging into walls. Instead, in this case they wouldn't be stuck in a wall, her target was a soldier in the distance encompassed by a large group of charging Whitefangs and soldiers.

She released the disc grenade from her belt and tried to find her mark, her right elbow bending as she threw the grenade into the fray of. It soared, swaying back and forth, until it stuck into the soldiers head. A small beep rang loudly, a bright explosion taking everything within it's fifteen meter radius. A giant wave of dirt lifting to the air, now was her chance. Charge forward, fight through the remaining bastards and hope to live. Or die.

She bit down hard onto her bottom lip, ignoring the pain she ran forward. Her body jumping through the dirt that hid her from the other side. Screaming she taunted them all, waiting fro the right moment to fire, the exit teasing her with a chance at survival. The thought stuck.

I'm not going to die here...Not after everything. We have more to do Revy, much more.
