How do they work?


I mean, what if I wanted to complete something by myself, is that even possible? Or does the site require player action to make the bars at the top of the screen shift to whoever is winning, essentially?

And if it is possible, how do you calculate the size of an army, it seems almost easy to handwave a factions npc army size....

Dominions can only be initiated by a major faction (same with invasions), and every writer is only allowed to make 1/5th of the total posts (20 out of 100). Your army theoretically could be as large as you feel you should be able to control, as there is not really much in the way of PvP going on (unless you opt for it.)

Skirmishes and especially invasions are a bit different. Generally there are rules in invasions that stipulate how many troops one writer may control at any given time, otherwise it's usually a "use common sense" kind of thing. Nobody wants to see 1 person controlling 100,000 troops. In the past I've seen usually upwards of 300 troops per writer but it all depends on the terms of the invasion and the rules set at the time it starts. These are usually outlined by the FA for each faction.
