To avoid flooding JAN with my many illegitimate younglings, I'll respond for all my characters.
Jedi: [member="Sor-Jan Xantha"]
Faction: The Mara-Perlemian Trade Council
Order Name: The Trade Council Order |
Faction Ad
Hierarchy: Jedi Council, led by a Master of the Order
Rationale: A Jedi Order that operates independent of government and away from galactic politics, with a "serve and protect" mandate that makes them more akin to the Wardens of the Sky than the traditional Jedi of old. As a business Jedi who is constantly traveling around the galaxy, that vibe suits Sor-Jan just fine. The Trade Council Order derives most of its thematic elements from the Old Republic (pre-Phantom Menace) Jedi Order... which also fits, because Sor-Jan accidentally time traveled to 844 ABY from the Old Republic era. Easy for him to mesh with the themes at play here.
Jedi: [member="Kiriko"]
Faction: The Silver Jedi Order |
Faction Ad
Hierarchy: Jedi Council, led by a Grandmaster
Rationale: The Silver Jedi are both a Jedi Order and a Major Faction, participating in direct government with the planets under their influence. Kiriko was a Beorni from the Silver Jedi world of Midvinter, who grew up to be a Jedi Consular. The traditional militant attitude of the Silver Jedi served as a good foil for Kiriko's pacifist outlook and non-aggressive demeanor.
Chaos' SJO is adapted from the Silver Jedi of the Expanded Universe and takes a "middle of the road" approach to the Jedi. It borrows some elements from the prequels and also from the New Jedi Order of the EU. It incorporates the Antarian Rangers into itself, so there are also NFUs who make up the Silver Jedi's ranks, which makes for an interesting partnership and story dynamic.
Jedi: [member="Shoma Ike"]
Faction: The Galactic Alliance |
Faction Ad
Order Name: The New Jedi Order
Hierarchy: Led by Jedi Marshals
Rationale: What happens with a democratic/Light faction gains control of a historically Imperial/Dark planet? That's the dynamic that I explore here. Shoma's father and brother were both Imperial Inquisitors, from a long line of Imperial supporters dating back as far as 3,000 BBY. Shoma's trying to figure out who he's supposed to be, how he's supposed to lead a democratic Atrisia, and then survive the many evils (First Order, Galactic Empire, etc) that are no different than the Atrisian Empire was just a decade earlier.
The NJO borrows many of its themes from Luke's New Jedi Order of the Expanded Universe. It's a fantastic playground for writing any kind of Jedi (traditional or not). From fighter pilot Jedi to librarian Jedi, you'll find them in the NJO. And for those who like PVP, there's no shortage of invasions. As the NJO form the third part of the GA's Triumverate, Jedi characters here also participate in the military and other governmental functions.
I haven't found a place for Zak yet. So hopefully we get some good adverts here for some story stuff I haven't seen before!
