There was a problem with using mentalism and Force Sense against the droids. For one, they had no minds, they couldn't be mind tricked, they couldn't be affected by mentalism powers, they couldn't be sensed through mentalism powers, for how can you sense a mind if there is no mind there? Their minds instead of were based on electronic components, programming, making them vulnerable to electric attacks instead.
Two, even when using Force Sense against droids it was more difficult to sense them than organics because they just kind of blurred with the ground. After all they were made from metal, dead material like the rocks, walls, or soil, they did not stood out against them like organics did but were camouflaged in the Force, although not dead in it like the Vong were, droids could still be detected via Force, although as I explained it was more difficult.
Damien was a capable Knight but he was not a Master, still the middle-rank Knight.
Going back to the fight, the droids' photoreceptors followed Damian as he jumped up, the shots he fired met with a buzz as the droids activated their blue-bladed lightsaber, swatting or dissipating the shots aside into the snow as in quick reflexes they had their own pistols aiming down their target,
the SP-1 shatterpistol rip-offs, triggers already pulled wasting no time as state-of-the-art tracking and calculation units of the droids had the trajectory marked and corrected in no time.
Now, these shatterpistols, they were more or less a silent weapon with no recoil, superior firepower making it a very impressive sniping weapon, especially in the hands of advanced droids, tiny projectiles, but extremely low rate of fire, so Daemos was facing down only two bullets this time, very small bullets, pellets actually. But pellets traveling at hyper speed, many times the speed of sound. The only reason these pistols were silent was due to sound dampening systems installed in their barrels, that prevented the railguns from being damaged by the shockwave created when their pellets broke the sound barrier inside the barrel. These pellets traveled so fast, that although they were tiny in comparison to other projectiles, like plasma bolts, they had enough kick to dent phrik armor. Phrik, which survived destruction of Alderaan with little scratches, was dented by pistols utilizing this technology.
While the bullets did make sound while they flew they actually hit their target before the sound of them flying towards the target would reach the said target. So, Daemos had two high-speed tiny projectiles with plenty of damage to dodge as a Knight-rank user from beings which are harder to sense through the Force and which utilized advanced calculators and sensors to wield the weapon with deadly efficiency, just few minutes earlier one of these droids (well one of their model) used this pistol to blow a man's kneecap clean off in one shot while being separated by a raging curtain of snowy blizzard, with little visual confirmation and the winds constantly affecting the trajectory of the bullet. By the time Daemos would even register that the triggers were pulled the bullets would already travel the distance they need to get to him, but don't necessarily hit him, miracles do happen from time to time.
One shot was aimed at his torso, biggest area, and the other simultaneous shot was aimed at his pelvic area, to shatter his hips, both shots did not necessarily had to be lethal.
As the whirr of engines broke through the blizzard, HK appeared in his full armor and garments, his face hidden behind the helmet other droids wore, however, his armor was grey as opposed to the white-colored armor of other units. However other sounds of engines would soon be heard, more reinforcements were coming.
HK took out his own shatterpistol, an older model weaker that the SP-1 as he looked upon Daemos' own troops, he sent out a quick transmission aimed towards his flagship
the Siege Tower, he had to get to the planet somehow after all, of course he brought his ship along with him. And that usually meant Iron Company forces.
